Popped in for breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. By far the best breakfast in the area and freshly cooked. Lots of tables and seating and very friendly staff.

Good seasonal menu choice, loved the game casserole. Treacle tart reminded me of my Granny's. Cosy fire and friendly service. We had a nice New Zealand white, draught Aspalls and alcohol free Guinness.

My first trip to this pub, and I will be back! Really lovely setting, 14th Century building I believe. Staff attentive, but not too much, which is something I like. Beautiful decor, tables laid so smartly, and as for the food - they do it very well at The Chequers Inn! I had a Teriyaki Salmon Salad, it was generous in size, really good quality and enjoyable. I had panna cotta for pudding, and it was delicious! The mango sauce was a dream, I would recommend this pud if you're going. It feels like a special place, and the drive through the countryside kind of set the scene too :-)

Had a throughly good evening at the Poacher Inn on one of their festive food evenings on offer for free. It was to sample their Christmas menu and it was really yummy! There was a tastefully decorated Xmas tree and a really funny ‘resident’ propping up the bar… Steve.
