Lovely looking cafe. Food was good enough. Completely ruined by the incessant bell ringing whenever people entered or left. What is the point? It’s a small cafe. Never experienced anything like it. Certainly won’t be going back. Unless I want to get a headache.

The best atmosphere ever. The welcome supplied by Mary and Kerry is something I have never experienced in a pub before. They create a fun and friendly culture that makes anyone that is lucky enough to find this gem feel welcome. They care about their customers as friends and if I’m honest the worst thing about the Fountain is that it is often difficult to leave 😂. And I haven’t mentioned Scampi, Bungle and Bertie-May the cats 🐈 🐈⬛ 🐈 🤗 Don’t hesitate give the Fountain a go…

Well arrived a little later than expected on Sunday 29th September, I surprised the parents who eat here regularly on Sundays for the roast. I had the beef roast with extra vegetables, service was excellent, great atmosphere, for pudding I had the treacle toffee pudding with ice cream. Mum and dad throughly enjoyed their meals as usual. Compliments to the chef and all the waiting staff Who provided a great service even though it was very busy. We have discussed as a family to come for a Christmas get together, we better get our skates on as they are very popular!!

Our favourite place to go. There are so many footpaths and circular routes throughout the estate, which are wonderful to stroll along. Afterwards, you can visit Pavillions Tea Room for a delicious meal and great coffee. Wander the gardens and botanic walk, visit the garden centre which has a fantastic range of products and yet another cafe, or go to the farm shop and sit in the courtyard with a delicious ice cream. If you like historic houses, Stanstead House is interesting to visit. For kids, there is the maze and train. Best of all parking is free. Just as an aside.... the toilets in the gardens are the cleanest we have ever visited.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience! The quality of the food was exceptional, with a great selection of delicious treats. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a relaxing and delightful afternoon.

I booked a table in the restaurant for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that there was a half hour wait for food. We were fine with this as we understand it was a busy time with it being the fireworks night locally. What we were not prepared for was the unfortunate attitude of the supervisor when we complained to her about it being an excessive wait of one and a half hours for the food. She did not care at all. She was smirking . The food was very nice. But the supervisor did not care that the lateness of the food caused us to miss the fireworks night locally. We thought 2 hours prior to it was adequate enough. Had we been told there was over an hour to wait for food we would have cancelled our booking. I am sure supervisor will not care but we will not be returning. We can overlook food being late but will not overlook the poor attitude of this supervisor that clearly did not give a hoot and actually smirked when we told her we had missed the fireworks.
