Another fantastic family meal served by Christina. Food and service was excellent, we ordered Focaccia and Pate starters and for main we had the Sirloin steak, Venison and Halibut, all perfectly cooked and served with delicious veg and sauce. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and good service and food.

Stopped there while out on a cycle ride. Pointed to and ordered what I thought was the last piece of a lemon drizzle cake. Disappointingly, they cut that in half!

Currently touring around the pubs in the area having recently relocated, so pleased we stopped here for a wonderful lunch in the glorious garden (beautifully landscaped with well kept and modern furniture) enjoyingthe atmos and valley views. We both had local beer (Tring Brewery) and a most excellent steak and caramelised onion ciabatta for £6! The service was welcoming and efficient and the locals equally so. This is currently our second favourite pub in the area and we will definitely be returning for an evening session. I highly recommend this establishment and urge people to use their local pub - two others a stones throw away from here on neighbouring ridges have closed in recent years 😪😪😪.

We went here for a family lunch and thought that the restaurant looked very welcoming, with comfortable seating and atmospheric lighting. Sadly, our experience didn't live up to expectations. We waited almost three quarters of an hour for the food to arrive, and when it did, it was mostly unremarkable. Mine was worse than that - I chose sea bass, which was fine, but it arrived sitting on a bed of what looked like smashed up baked potato which had been positively drenched in lemon juice. Why lemon juice, I can't imagine. Perhaps someone thought that there should be lemon juice on the fish, but unfortunately it had all soaked into the potato. Really acid-tasting and very unpleasant. We didn't linger, but cut the meal short, asking for the bill immediately after our main course. Someone needs to take control in the kitchen here. I doubt we shall return.

Some kind of joke. Booked a table for Fathers Day at 12pm. Seemed ominous when we arrived (10 mile Journey with 2 kids) and it was still closed at 11:55 with no sign of any life from within or the kitchen. Sat in garden until 12:10 then called them. Apparently “Jane usually opens before 12”, and “who said we’re closed?”. Could take no more of the farcical situation and left to find a place with far more accommodating staff with a level of competence. I’m sure this place may have been good at some point in time but whoever runs it now clearly has either zero customer care or is being seriously let down by whoever should be running it. The gardener is doing a great job though!!
