We were a group of 6 adults and three children. We were put into the spacious marquee at the side. No one else there. One of the staff members made it feel like it was a nuisance we were there. And when children dropped food on the floor (which is what toddlers do), a double nuisance. Did not feel welcome at all. And this particular staff member was quite frankly rude. Food was average. Won’t be returning.

Excellent food, drinks and service. Doesn’t matter if you’re a walker looking for a pit stop or if you’re looking for a smart sit down meal, the full moon caters perfectly for all. We eat and drink here frequently and it’s as good as you could ask for. A superb pub in all respects.

Quite simply one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had. Chunky slices of beautifully prepared roast beef cooked to a spot on medium to suit everybody, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, mashed swede, cabbage, tender stem broccoli, leaks, a roasted carrot and a proper gravy, everything was just perfect. I love this place, everything we’ve ever eaten here has been very good indeed. Staff are really friendly and go out of their way to look after you, brilliant service all round. I for one think you get value for money here, it’s not the cheapest roast around but it is top quality without a top price tag. This is an exceptional Sunday roast served in a traditional country pup for £20 and I highly recommend it. There’s also a large marquee area and a lovely garden, you can eat anywhere you like. I suggest booking especially on a Sunday.

I decided to incorporate this Pub into a walk I wanted to do in the area at the end of June 2024 (Would recommend that walk too) am I glad I did! I ordered the Linguini Pesto (hard cheese, pine nuts, pane egg, rocket, fennel & pickled shallots.) and my Wife had the Butternut squash salad, (Specials board) I was intrigued to find out what a pane egg was! (Boiled egg that has been coated in cheesy breadcrumbs and fried, Delicious!) Clearly a talented chef as the egg was still runny inside and a nice touch which elevated this dish! Loved the pickled shallots which helped cut through the rich pesto. My wife loved the salad too. Great service. We will be back. highly recommended!

Whilst there is carparking and garden with reasonable seating...no umbrellas, the lunch baguettes at £9.95 were far too expensive for a smallish baguette with bought in filling, and a bit of tired looking salad. The staff were not particularly friendly and just matter of fact, dismissive. Would not go again.

They ask you to leave when they feel like closing!!! What happened to licensing hours? Customers being asked to leave at 9:30 pm so the staff can go home early. (Broken Britain) The excuse given it’s not worth keeping the pub open? Yes it is!! It evens itself out from the busy spells!!! We’ve all been to pubs that have quiet patches! Can you imagine any other establishments closing when they feel like it? Imagine getting to Sainsbury’s at 8:30 pm and they’re closed or the Post office, Closed because they said they only had three in the queue?! .. This pub is busy most of the time. Which would more than cover quiet spells financially! Some nights they call last orders at around 9 o’clock!! Last orders please ?!?!? Last night we arrived there too find them closed at 9: 30 pm curtains drawn! What a waste of people’s time driving here for a late drink. This is more and more becoming a mediocre Berni Inn than a pub. Stick to your effing opening hours!!! Myself and my wife & Family will now choose this pub as a last option! There is absolutely no entertainment, no darts no juke box no TVs (They play the same playlist over & over ) & a non regular customer has no say unless a LOCAL REGULAR arrives who will just wander in & grab the iPad from the bar & choose music, I take it there obviously bored of the same playlist too !! if you are not a regular though you are told no you cannot choose a song.. 🤡 Last orders should be at 10:30 or 11 pm!! And certainly don’t tell customers that they’re not worth Serving as they may not drink as much to cover the electric bills!?!?! 🤡 Then let one member of staff go home & Skeleton crew it, Or maybe some of the management could actually work a night shift!!(too good for that are we?) One last strange thing about this pub is you get decent portion of meat and Spuds, and a tiny inadequate serving of vegetables? Completely out of proportion. And if you ask for a decent amount of vegetables, they want to charge you more money. The bar staff are excellent. They are only told by the Management they must close early if there’s not a lot of custom. The staff are pretty friendly and bubbly, but chucking people out at 9:30 pm is not the way forward… it’s the backwards!! What kind of pub is this? That’s right, this is a LOCAL pub for LOCAL people. If you get my drift (league of gentleman) Like going back to 1964, apart from the fact that in 1964, they didn’t close before closing time.. so we we re-routed to a pub in Wigginton about 9.45pm and there was only one other person in there. They served us as one would expect! we arrived bought some drinks had a wonderful conversation with the bartender, and not once did they asked us to leave early. The cheek of the Full Moon management is off the scale.. they think they’re doing YOU a favour by having you as a customer…. Response to owner: No thanks! I’d rather leave an honest review than get into an altercation.. maybe just answer some of the points?

This is a local pub for local people. Treated like an inconvenience Shoved in the tent, that smelt of wet dog. Tried to get a drink at the bar was told to wait , barmaid to busy talking to people already served. But luckily other staff member served and noticed. Constantly got dirty looks. Then because we brought a 12year old with us, we got told we had to pay extra. Refused the extra charge so loose change was given back. LOCAL PLACE LOCAL PEOPLE YOUR NOT WELCOME HERE

This pub is very local to me, it has a lovely garden with plenty of outdoor seating, although there is only very limited dog friendly seating indoors. There is a marquee to sit in outside but this can get quite cold. Generally the service and food have been good, however we have had food missed or long waits on multiple occasions. Unfortunately their vegetarian options are often very limited- at present the only veggie mains are a salad or a mushroom risotto which is a pretty bog standard veggie meal. We have been on other occasions in the past when the only vegetarian food option was salad. It has also got very expensive but that is unfortunately normal in this area now. It's a great pub but it's 2023 and they really need to get with the times and offer some decent vegetarian food.

Wasn’t allowed to swap a chair with another (empty) table so my 3 year old could sit comfortably. Owner claimed that moving the chair would ruin the ‘look’ in case she got some diners in on that table (table remained empty for the entire time we were there). Good beer, good food, good location, ok staff. Terrible land lady. Friday night topped it. Found a table, sat my family down and went to order our meals. Minutes later landlady appeared and insisted we move to the restaurant as our table seated 6 plus, and there was only 3 of us. We were then re-seated in a cold, silent and empty restaurant. We ate and left quickly, it was awful. On leaving we checked out our original table….two locals sat there! Landlady is not normally front of house (yes I was a regular). Second time I have met her, both engagements were poor. My guess is that she writes the internal signs too. “Don’t move the furniture it’s there for a reason!” It’s just not very customer friendly, a very busy pub, but not a great one. You feel like they are doing u a favour by serving u We have checked out of this pub now…was going twice a week.

Short dark hair woman in her 40s should receive the award for WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, EVER. Literally no idea what her problem is but she needs to learn some hospitality and manners, she's so rude, difficult and just puts me and my friends off visiting again. UPDATE My 5kg tiny dog could no way produce the amount of urine you're talking about. And as for the woman's coat, that's a total lie as I immediately asked her if it touched her coat and she said no, I then asked to feel for myself and it was dry. The pub should have a mop on standby and someone to have quickly mopped up. We paid in excess of £200 on the bill. Another lie is that you're saying I'm a returning customer. I have never been in that area before. That aside, even upon entering, we as guests had to move out of the way for said staff.

Smartened up interiors look good. However, the quality of the food continues to fall – the bacon and egg sandwich was really quite poor. Soggy toast, undercooked bacon which was also very fatty. Breakfast burrito used to be fantastic but they have replaced full chorizo sausages with diced chorizo, rather spoiling the dish. Could be so much better!
