Booked 3 weeks ago for a spe ial birthday treat. Turned up this evening to find it had shut down... They couldn't even bothered to have told us....

A superb small pub, very homely. With ample parking at rear. We went for Sunday lunch with family and were not disappointed. Excellent food at reasonable prices, also very accommodating to dietary requirements.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The atmosphere, quirkiness, staff and absolutely delicious food are outstanding. We hosted a large lunch yesterday and you did us proud (again).

There were 19 of us for a celebratory meal and I have to say we were well and truly looked after. A huge shout out to Hugo who was our server for the evening and he was fabulous, he was efficient, quick, attentive without being obtrusive, engaging, funny and just a great person. The food was delicious and it arrived all at the same time, which was a big ask from the kitchen seeing as we didn't pre-order. No complaints from us.

We popped in here for lunch. Although I have lived in the area for over 25 years I have never been to Stirrups. It's a lovely looking building and quite posh-looking. We ordered turkey roast and fish and chips. My other half said her turkey meal tasted as if it had been reheated. The fish and chips I had was hot and fresh. Chips were nice and the fish was not too oily. Inside it's all a bit old fashioned and stuffy. Not really our kind of place to be honest.

We’ve been regular customers over many years for breakfast and lunch. The coffee is great but now this is all we go for if passing by. We find the food too expensive for what it is. On our last visit, feeling hungry I ordered a sausage bap. The roll was dry, stale and flavourless - no doubt the cheapest white rolls you can buy. The sausages had a thick slightly tough coating which meant that they’d been either cooked previously and reheated or left on the hot plate for too long.

We had booked a table at 6.45 to have dinner in a country pub for New Years Eve. We turned up to somewhat surprised / embarrassed faces only to be told upon being seated that ‘due to staff issues’ they were running a reduced menu - this consisted of burgers, fries, chicken … awful. We declined to eat. No real explanation. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a badly run Harvester, further exacerbated by the running background dance music.. Awful. Wouldn’t come back, like, ever! If you are searching for the exact opposite of a country pub then this could be your place.. shocking

A nice pub with lovely staff. We went for Sunday lunch. The roast pork was really good as was the roast turkey. They have a reasonable selection of draught beers and lagers and a good bottle selection including some 0% options.

Excellent service and food ,when walking back to car we realised they hadn't charged us for deserts .We decided to do the descent thing and return and pay . We were slightly miffed that they weren't a bit more grateful seeming to be more concerned as to who hadn't put the deserts onto the bill . Won't stop us going back ,but JUST SAYING .

Located behind the Tally Ho farm riding shop over looking the field. Reasonable parking and access via an all weather path and ramp for wheel chairs and buggies. Small selection of pre made toastable sandwiches, cakes and pies. Good service and comfortable seating. Worth trying if in the area. Please like if this helped.
