Review of Hickory’s Smokehouse Hutton by my Family Our family visit to Hickory’s Smokehouse in Hutton started as a delightful celebration for my wife’s birthday, but concluded with a taste that was bittersweet, largely due to an unpleasant encounter at the end of our meal. Atmosphere and Initial Impressions Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the bar staff who introduced us to a variety of American bourbons and shared intriguing stories of their historic significance. This thoughtful introduction set a high bar for the evening, with the staff demonstrating both knowledge and hospitality, hat off to these guys, they know their stuff. Service and Cuisine. The servers at Hickory’s Smokehouse were nothing short of excellent. Their attentiveness ensured our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Each dish that came to our table was not only timely but cooked to perfection, showcasing the skill of the chefs. The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric, making it a perfect backdrop for making cherished family memories. Unpleasant Conclusion Unfortunately, our wonderful experience was marred towards the end by an incident involving a staff member named Coulson. As we were concluding our meal, Coulson presented our bill with a pre-included tip of (£15 which he added without deservedness) This was unexpected as he had not been involved in our service throughout the evening. When I inquired about this charge, Coulson responded in a manner that was both shocking inappropriate, and cringeworthy, especially in front of my family. His defensive, aggressive attitude and the manner in which he addressed our concerns were out of line with the otherwise stellar service we had received. Despite this, we sought to resolve the matter discreetly and spoke with a manager who assured us that the issue would be looked into. It was important for us to recognize and reward the staff who directly contributed to our enjoyable evening, rather than feeling compelled to reward someone who did not participate in providing the service we experienced. Final Thoughts While the majority of our visit to Hickory’s Smokehouse was exceptional, the incident at the end was unfortunate and not reflective of the high standards of hospitality we initially encountered. It is our hope that feedback like ours will be taken constructively, ensuring that future guests do not encounter similar issues. (Check automated added tips) Overall, our visit to Hickory’s Smokehouse Hutton was memorable for many right reasons, but it’s crucial that all aspects of customer interaction are handled with the same level of professionalism and courtesy. Thank you.

Not been since before Covid and the rebranding from the Cumin (now Royal Indian Restaurant). So wanted to go back with the family and to celebrate belated birthday with them. Place is excellent. Has been redecorated inside so looking nice, the food was excellent and the staff are very friendly, professional and polite. So had a lovely evening meal out. I'd recommend this restaurant to eat in or as a takeaway and will be going again.

We have been here many times. Good starter portions. Lovely food. You often see South Asian people eating there which is always a good sign. No problem with the food or staff but…..£4.50 for a pint of lime and soda. A dash of lime and bubbly water. £4.50 for a pint of cola. How much is Cobra or Kingfisher I wonder.? Much the same I’d imagine. There is no justification for ripping people off like that. Now I think about it, we were overcharged by £2.50 for the drinks as well. So, no tip. Except this. Don’t swindle the customers or they won’t come back.

The gluten-free food here is amazing. My wife had the gf sausage muffin, while I chose the steak and eggs. Unfortunately, my steak wasn't good, and I let the staff know. What happened next blew my mind. Without any hesitation, they replaced the whole meal, not just the steak. They really couldn't have handled it any better. Outstanding service.

The three senior members of my family, who went for a meal, remember the Farms Arms over the years as being an extremely good place to eat. We were also accompanied by my two grangs sons. The food was ordered. Nothing was heard for more that 30 minutes when he was asked by the waitress did he wish to have his garlic bread before the main coures. He stated yes and were were told our food was only a couple of minutes away. The food finaly arrive 45 minutes after ir had been ordered. I had ordered fish and chips. The food was cold and been served on a cold plate. My son in law's burger and chips was also served cold. My of my grandson's burger arrived with no sight of the second one. I and my son in law took our meals back and they were taken from us but no member of staff informed us what was to happen. My second grandson's burger arrived. They stated that the meals were poor tasteing and unappitising. My son in law's meal and mine were represented. His described his as rubbish. My own meal was the worst I had had in a pub/restaurent, but I had to eat some because I am diabetic. My own meal was just more than luke warm, with the fish poorly battered and very greasy. The chips were only just warm and the peas were a mixture of over cooked and undercooked one. No member of the management approached us to ask about our experience. No one was interested.
