Always 10/10 for service and food. Highly recommend 💯

Pancakes came cold and couldn't be bothered telling the staff as they were run off their feet.

Really good food as always, staff were very friendly. Overall was clean and tidy and quick service even though it was busy .

I'm from Virginia and have had BBQ all over the states, and Hickory's is legit! It was like having BBQ in Texas, the Carolinas, and central Midwest all on one plate. Food, atmosphere, and music were all great. I was truly surprised.

Excellent food the meat is just spot on. There's a Waiter for every 3 tables so they are very attentive to the table and get anything you need very fast even though the place is always full. The atmosphere really gives you the American vibes, their uniforms are even American styles. Great music. Reasonable prices for the service and quality of food you receive. Great night thank you to your staff.

Honestly some of the best food I have ever had and the service was amazing, my only Ick about it is it can get quite expensive but I'd say it's worth it for the wonderful experience you get

Fantastic food in a great environment with great staff.

Most staff spot on, one absolute horrible cow told children not to take popcorn into cinema as it was all over, before I had ordered my food I had already been into the cinema where before my kids, who I am certain added to mess but cinema was covered already and rubbish tucked down seats. Very rude girl abruptly said this before I had time to take in and it to piss me off staff had changed and I complained to a space cadet not a clue what I was saying. Food was sharer for two just slop really apart from pork bite pieces we got extra they were lovely. Overall bad I’ll spend my £140 on pork scratchings before going here again.

The table waitress was excellent. Ordered starters and mains. Requested alternative dip with one of the starters that didn’t arrive (after 2nd request) others had finished their starters before it had eventually arrived. The worst was our mains arrived at the table and we hadn’t finished our starters. Even when I made this known (which was clearly obvious) the waiter seemed intent to leave us with our mains, with a table full of incomplete starters. Not great. The “background” music was so loud I couldn’t hear what the waitress was saying or what my family was talking about on the opposite side of the table.

Wonderfully friendly waitresses and good atmosphere. The food though is a pale version of the US. Everything was a bit dry with small portions for the prices. And in that sense it's exactly the average classic British chain.

We pre booked and asked for a table outside on booking. When we arrived, our table wasn't ready, and we were asked to sit at the bar. As we walked in, a waitress dropped a bowl of salad on the floor, and it spread everywhere. She just ran off and left it there. I presumed she had gone to get something to tidy it up, but it just stayed there until the bar staff noticed. It was a bit bizarre. We were eventually seated indoors against our request for outdoor seating. We sat next to one of many windows that were all closed, and it was boiling in there. We dis open the window ourselves, which made it slightly more bareable. The entire time we were eating, there were seats free outside, which really annoyed me. The food was amazing, but it ruined my visit with the heat and lack of attention from staff. We didn't stay for dessert, and it has put us off returning again.

Had to book, but table wasn't ready. Seated on a small crampt table. Waitress excellent. Menu ok and food was nice but noisy. Nothing our autistic son could eat so won't be going back. Ladies toilets were dreadful. And watch for the automatic service charge! Tipping is my choice. If you can't afford to pay your staff properly put your prices up so you can.

Thus place was amazing the platter for 2 was amazing with loads of meat, the puddings were great too.

Went today . The food was fantastic. Our waitress was very professional and polite . We will be back soon :)

Service was terrible, waited 30 minutes for our table we had booked, had to flag someone down to order, starters took around 20 minutes, we had to ask for more drinks, and where our mains were, three meals arrived the fourth has been forgotten and arrived as everyone else was finishing. We were not offered dessert and had to go and find someone to get and pay the bill. Too busy and poorly run.

PLEASE READ. What can I say I messaged them asking if they did a takeaway they said unfortunately not. So explained a good friend of mine is terminally Ill and wanted to visit before he became to ill unfortunately he's bed bound and couldn't go. Next day manager (Beatrice) rung offered to help by saying if he can't come to restaurant we'll bring the restaurant to him next day Beatrice and another member of staff came to his house 40 miles away set up a table exactly the same as restaurant for him and his son for 1 last restaurant meal together. They had the smoked platter for 2 and it was on the house As well I can not say thankyou enough for everything they did. We will be forever grateful 🥲 Dave and liz

Food served super quickly after ordering, had a great steak and beer.

Really nice a bit expensive yho so deffo treat meal and they added a 5er service charge I'd rather tip myself rather than just get it on the bill thought that was well cheeky n and when you question about it ur made to feel tight even though we had just spent 100 quid !

Service is always excellent. Have been accommodating even when the car park full and very busy. I like the vibe and it’s just easy. Great for family and when we’re been with friends.

Muched overrated . The food was nice, but what you get and what you pay for are two different things. I could hardly hear what the server was saying even after asking her twice due to the level of noise .

Booked in for Saturday nite at 7pm got there just before and taken to our table almost straight away Ordered the platter for 2 It was delicious Everything was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth Had to have a desert to finish off well as you can see they were absolutely Devine We will definitely book again what a really nice experience can highly recommend for a good meal out

Came here to celebrate a birthday and everything was fantastic. Food was great staff were fantastic and friendly. 10/10

We booked a table for 16.00 and arrived at 15.00.greeted by nice staff member and were shown to the bar before we went into restaurant.There was only one guy in there at the bar.we had a drink and then went into eat.We ordered cowboy steak ,Brisket and Cauliflower cheese with side salad.service was good but there was only us and a young couple opposite and a family of four beside us! Food was tasty but could have easily stayed at home and had more. For what they charged us here for a lot less.Look at the photos posted and you be the judge.The only redeeming quality here is the friendly staff but we won't be back again. We left disappointed.

Just had my wedding anniversary here and it was an amazing night. The staff went above and beyond, if you want to experience an authentic American restaurant look no further than hickory's smokehouse.

Youve gotta try it at least once to make ya own decision. Over rated and overpriced. Don't think we will try again. Staff were great.

Really nice setting outside has heated lamps. Price I payed for 2 people £95 plus tip.The food is good I'd say small portions for the pricing. We had the £20.99 brisket didn't think they was £15 worth of meat I found it to be fatty but I preferred it in the mac and cheese found it to be more flavourful also had the big pig burger and it was to a standard size, the pulled pork nachos I would recommend definitely preferred the pulled pork over the brisket and I don't really eat pork often. The staff was very friendly and accommodated to us well. Loved the fact they had blankets outside but did find bird poo on the one I was using.

You can book outdoor huts so you can take your dog . Service and food very good

Our first ever visit to Hickory and we are impressed. The staff were first class and very helpful. Food very tasty and even my wife who is very fussy enjoyed it. We will certainly be back. Just one suggestion, the table we had was in quite a dark section and as older people we found it a bit dark to read the menu sheets, and I prefer to add and choose my own tip as opposed to a fixed service charge. I left it as it was as our server was excellent and so helpful but I do think that would deter a few older people.

Lovely,helpful waitress Amber, first time visiting so we chose a few different things to try,all good ,we will revisit.

My wife and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary here. This was the first time for us to go to Hickory's. Wow! We absolutely loved it! The staff are all welcoming. They're all so friendly. They will do absolutely anything and everything they can to make sure your visit is that little bit better. We were excited to try something new, and the staff made our visit so much better by adding little touches during our meal. They had a little board welcoming us to our table, with Happy Anniversary written on. We had more little touches added throughout our visit. The food is amazing there, we absolutely enjoyed everything we had here. The only thing we didn't try sadly was from the desert menu! Next time we visit, we will make sure we leave room for pudding. Thank you again for making our day so much better! We will never forget what you did for us!

Even though this is a chain, it has a lot of personality and fantastic food. Easily the best BBQ food in the area, so much to choose from but you can't make any bad decisions as it's all good!

We came to Hickorys Hutton for my partners birthday, its his fav place. The food my partner ordered was lovely he had a platter, I however was disappointed with the ribs. I found them to be far too fatty with grizel. The server did not come to see us only to give drinks and food, o dont think he enjoys his job very much as he was not a happy chappy! Will we come again, considering we have been lots of times, maybe not. Disappointed

Absolutely outstanding place, great table service and staff were too kind. The atmosphere really made me feel like I was in America, the music, large screen TV, food etc. They even had the cutest little cinema for the kids aswell. If I had the opportunity to tell everyone where they should go out to eat I would recommend this place no hesitation. AMAZING

Was so excited about going to Hickory's and was so disappointed. I had 1/2 which was pink in places and my friend had pulled pork which again was small and 2 soft drinks and was over £50. I think it was expensive for what it was.

Went with my son for father's day and was seated at the bar for the match, The staff were great, sadly the brisket had to go back as it was just a pile of fat. Aside from that will deffo go back as can't fault the staff, great atmosphere and reasonably priced

My 4th visit to a Hickorys, but my first visit to the Hutton one. Never seen it so busy, but despite this, staff were great, food was amazing as always.

Lovely food if you like burgers and steak

Great addition to the local area, nice selection of food, and drinks with a takeout option if needed which is always a nice bonus. Price slightly higher than average however worth every penny. Nice atmosphere.

Last Friday the 14th of June I took my dad out for a father and son 60th bday meal sat down had a drinkand ordered food maybe half an hour later the waitress came with someone else's meal and we notified her that was not for our table and she said there was a mix up and went and served the right table no issues at all. 10 minutes later our main meals turned up when we hadn't even been served our starters we explained we were waiting on our starters and away the person serving went around a minute later our starters turned up luke warm but we let it go as to not cause a fuss as the restaurant was quite busy. as we were enjoying the starters a waitress came and said would we be happy to take the mains as they are ready we chose not to as we were still eating our starters the waitress said they would have to re cook my steak and the mains would take longer to come not a problem. We finished our starters and within seconds our mains were on the table onion rings and sausage sides luke warm to cold. Steak luke warm and over cooked we asked for a replacement on the onion rings and I ate what I could of the steak my father enjoyed his brisket meal it was warm at least. we asked for some fresh onion rings that were supplied again i left the cold jalapeno sausage sides........ £90 meal with drinks wasn't very pleased at all but paid and left won't be rushing back 3rd time visit abit let down tbh.

I had high hopes for this place after reading some respectable reviews. The service was very good and our waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food, however, fell below the standards I expected. For a smokehouse, you'd expect that the meat to be quite special. This wasn't the case with the rack of ribs or the pork my partner ordered. The ribs were tough, dry and tasteless (I've had far better even from a supermarket). The pork was tasty, but it was very very dry - you really had to mix in the beans to make it work. The sides were nice but there's only so much they can do when the meat is so poor. I'm hoping we caught these guys on a bad day, and that usually the food is better, but I don't think I'll be back to put that to the test!

Great place to come, amazing food, good atmosphere and friendly staff

Have been to Hickorys a few times now both Preston and Thornton. Have pre booked a booth for myself and my partner 4 times at Preston previously with no issue, Pre booked a booth yesterday, turned up and advised the lady at front of house we had booked a booth, She ignored that and tried to seat us at a small and cramped table. I advised again we had booked a booth, Laughably i was told booths are not for 2 people to which i advised i had had no such issue the previous 4 times, was eventually seated in the bar area across from an empty booth that remained empty for our 90 minute visit and we could have been seated there. Food was ok bit dry and overdone and experience was ruined. The young lady that waited on our table (different member of staff) was very good. Will avoid Hutton from now on due to Front of house staff at being awkward for sake of it and will stick to Thornton for future visits.

Visited for a friend's birthday, staff were so lovely and welcoming. Food was awesome, only downside was not enough parking and the venue isn't easy to get to unless you live close by or drive.

We have visited tonight as a party of 5 for my sons Birthday he really loves it here. Overall i would definitely recommend this place the food and drinks were all fantastic very tasty and really good sized portions i had the Bacon bites for starter and the go big or go home burger for main which i can't fault i also tried one of the grape sodas which again was lovely. The staff were very warm and welcoming and although the places was very busy kept us with minimal waiting times so a big thank you to all of them. I was also a big fan of the decor it feels really authentic and smells amazing from the moment you walk through the doors My only criticism was the bill i have absolutely no problems leaving a tip when the service and food is good but im not a huge fan of a tip automatically being added on to the bill (yes you can ask for it to be removed) but lets face it nobodys going to do that i like the option and amount to be my choice. Overall a lovely experience with amazing food and drinks we would be more than happy to return to sample some more of your great options

Very friendly and customer service is good. Mandatory tip on the bill? Been a few times and guests of +2 so unsure why... brisket was fatty, 4 slices so not much meat.

If you haven't already booked a table here DO IT. Very family friendly with a cinema room and popcorn for the kiddies. The staff are amazing and so friendly, and the food is AMAZING.

Hutton - Booked a table for 615pm bank holiday Monday, granted it was busy but we were seated by the toilets and clearly forgotten....no food order taken for 30mins. Poor. ....So we left and got a FIVE GUYS I didn't want to leave any stars but you have to select one to write a review.

Reserved online, had to wait to be seated as they had obviously taken in to many walk ins. However, after I sat waiting for 30 minutes at the table and no one taking the order we left.... I won't be back!!!!

First time we had been and highly recommend it, excellent choice of meals which were delicious. The staff were very attentive even though they were extremely busy. The live music gave a really good atmosphere. It was my daughter’s birthday and they squeezed in bringing her cake out and singing happy birthday. Nice touch, we will definitely return

The food isn't bad, but I am always underwhelmed for the price. I would go to Smokies in Chorley. It's the same food, better flavour and half the price. They are only small family business so service is always extra friendly. They do like home made sauces which are a must try... Hickorys meh, Smokies AMAZING... I would link them but that's just insulting to hickorys.

Awesome food. Generally good service. Not a fan of TIPs being automatically added to bills. I wouldn't say the "service" is anything spectacular that would justify that. Having the host smile, take the order and then someone else bringing out the food is pretty standard. Would be interested to know just how much they make from this automatically added fee and how it's shared.

Genuinely the best smokehouse I've ever eaten at. I wasn't massively excited to eat here, but my brother had booked it. I'm so used to going to a smokehouse for a platter and saying "well the ribs were really good, the rest was okay, but the brisket was so dry". But not here! This is the first time I can say everything that came on a smokehouse sharing platter was incredible. All the meats were so juicy and flavoursome. The only thing I'd actually change is to have more beans and less pulled pork in the beans... But when you're complaining about having too much meat on the meat platter, you really can't fault it! The staff were incredibly attentive as well, always on hand if you needed them and running an incredibly tight ship. Really enjoyed the frickles, but wouldn't order a portion to myself, even as a pickle fiend. My friends have been recommending Hickory's for years, and I wish I'd listened to them sooner. Blows Reds True BBQ out of the water. I'd travel 45mins out of Manchester to eat here

First visit to Hickory's today and the food was great. We tried a few different things on the menu and it was all lovely. The fries were really tasty and everything was cooked perfectly. Nice atmosphere however, it's quite dark. It's a shame there's not more natural lighting. The staff were very helpful with any questions regarding the menu and the food came quickly.

We were here for the first time, this is a very good restaurant! Friendly, fast service, delicious food.

Me and my family have been on 2 occasions now and loved the atmosphere and food. The service from the staff was very friendly and polite. The cinema for the children is great, my son loved nipping to watch parts of a film whist eating his food. The pop corn you get free at your table is a nice touch too. I would highly recommend this place to people.

Music far too loud which meant every one was having to talk louder..not a lot of taste in the macaroni cheese

If you like American smokehouse it is unsurprising how good it is, because its brilliant. If you just want a drink, it IS surprising how much the staff know their stuff, they know every spirit available, any combination and are so great on letting you try before you buy (as long as you're extra polite. We ordered a platter for 2 again (for 3 and it sufficed with a couple sides) and that's 100% the best way to trial the place. I won't lie it is a bit pricey, but it is a great treat night out. Though for the service alone it's the best restaurant from Longton to Penwortham hands down.

Exceptional, the food was amazing and staff went that extra mile to make my girlfriends birthday one to remember, they even threw in some extra bottled beer on the house. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Expensive for what it is. Very ordinary chain food at restaurant prices. Food overcooked and a bit dry. Plus points: service was very good, merlot was nice and they have Sierra Nevada on draught. Oh and thankyou for ignoring my criticism of the overcooked food in your reply. It was not my taste that was at fault, it was your culinary standards. We won't be rushing back!
