It’s really angers me that this fantastic restaurant has been closed for such a long time depriving me of their delicious food. I keep coming back to check if they’re open but still nothing. I wish I could’ve had their food one last time before they stopped their business.

Ordered chicken Tikka tandoori. Chicken Tikka authentic, the bhuna sauce that you have to pay extra for was like gravy. Hardly any salad. Had a portion of mushroom bhaji and the only spice that you could taste was salt. Will never order a takeaway from here again

Usually a great restaurant with great service but last night was horrendous. Had to wait 2 hours for a meal due to a private party upstairs that they felt was more of a priority than the customers downstairs. Other customers had the same waiting time as us one family even walked out. Manager didn't seem interested when we said we wouldnt be returning it's a shame because I.m sure we won't be the only ones that won't be going back.

Disappointed is an understatement.Totally underwhelmed by the poor service we received. Ordered drinks, which arrived without the lime we requested, then starters arrived which were miniscule portions.I was given the pate without the onion chutney as they forgot, but no apology ,just shrugged it off.We then ordered another drink,no lime again and no gin glass as I'd asked for one! They just didn't listen which was so frustrating. On paying the extortionate bill I then noticed we'd been charged a different price for drinks that was advertised.. Felt conned! Fed up and won't be returning which is a shame as we've been going for years.

Always a friendly welcome by staff and a friendly atmosphere. Close to Freehold metro station. Good entertainment at weekends. 2nd October '24 Pub is now under new management. They now have a Jam session on a Wednesday night 6.30 until 10.00 which is doing well.

Really enjoy coming to the boat and horses for a carvery on a Sunday, plenty of fresh veg to choose from, Lovley mash potatoes and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese is also nice. Yorkshire puddings can be a hit and miss, sometimes you get a perfect Yorkshire, other times it can be a flat Yorkshire to a stale Yorkshire that’s been sat under a carvery deck light all day. Just depends what times you go and how busy they have been. Also different options of gravy. The breakfast is fantastic also at the boat and horses. Been so many times for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I like the selection of the hot breakfast. Includes all the usual inc black pudding, mushrooms and if you prefer a porch egg to a fried egg then just ask the waiter and the chef will do you 1. Service wise, the staff could be more interactive with their customers. I have walked in when it’s been really busy stood at the waiting station for 10 mins whilst staff have a chat when the customer should come 1st. Overall it’s better than toby carvery by a long shot and the price what you pay certainly can’t be moaned at

Food excellent as always, it was very cold where we were sat, they had put extra tables in the reception/bar area because a private function was on in the main room...so it was very draughty from the doors. Atmosphere was very, very noisy again due to the crowded tables and the private function, you couldn't hear yourself think!!
