Me and my wife have drove past this place so many times and tonight we decided to come here for a little date night. The staff was so friendly the place was nice and cosy recently refurbished and the food was to die for! If I could lick my plate I would have… very reasonably priced, a hidden gem if you ask me and a must try!

Having been on a local errand, I fancied an ice cream so Googled 'ice cream, Oswaldtwistle' and this place popped up. A proper ice-cream parlour with good ice cream that is open all year round and you can sit inside or out if you wish. A waffle cone with a good portion of ice cream and flake cost me £2.50 - fair by today's standards. It satisfied my craving and can definitely recommend. There's also a chip shop adjoining it next door!

What an experience! There aren’t many pubs that will go the extra mile to meet your booking requests, but this one does—seating us at a cosy round table right next to a lovely, warm fire. This pub truly ticks every box. I’d brought my parents for their first visit tonight and they were mighty impressed. Our evening started with a warm welcome from our excellent waiter, who personally greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our table. He was incredibly attentive throughout the evening, making sure everything was perfect. The ambience, with its soft lighting, background music, warmth, and inviting atmosphere, made it the kind of pub we could only dream of before tonight. The food was outstanding, with a menu offering enough variety to satisfy without being overwhelming—so you know everything is freshly prepared. It’s well worth paying a little extra for food of this quality in such a cozy setting. This was my third visit in 12 months, and I travel all the way from Preston. It’s truly my favorite pub. I had the prawn pil pil starter, the duck for my main, and finished with the crumble of the day, all washed down with two pints of Cruzcampo and a glass of white wine. My mum had the sea bass, my fiancé enjoyed steak frites (which came as a thick, almost fillet-like cut), and my dad had the fish and chips—something I’ve had before and highly recommended to him. He was thrilled, especially with the proper chips! Thank you, White Bull, for being so accommodating and for consistently delivering such a fantastic experience on this autumnul evening.

We booked in for the "Tasting Menu", which we really hope will be a regular thing! The Chef, Jamie created a special "Death Row" menu to showcase his favourite food, and it did not disappoint. It was all absolutely fabulous! Everything made from scratch with meticulous care, from local ingredients. Sorry my photos do not do these courses justice, as I couldn't help but tuck in when the dish was placed in front of me. Each course would not have been out of place in a restaurant that might charged at least four times the price. So rally good value! Starting with the perfect Espresso Martini, frothy and flavoursome. Starting with cheese bread which was delicious and fresh, amazing marmite butter, and gorgeous creamy, frothy mushroom soup. The "raw beef" (Carpaccio) was melt in the mouth tender, with surprising, but perfect, accompaniments. The Cod Roe (taramasalata) was really lovely, Jamie had smoked the roe himself, and blended it just right to fill his homemade choux buns. The star of the meal for me, was the rib of beef, which was a very generous portion, and had been perfectly cooked with all sorts of tasty and smokey flavours, and soooo tender, served with Pomme Anna and Asparagus with hollandaise. The pudding, was likewise all made by Jamie, and just right! Banana ice cream shaped into a banana and covered in white chocolate, and really flavoursome chocolate ice cream, with peanut crunchy brittle sprinkles. Another of my favourite courses (difficult to choose...) was Jamie's crumpets with a very fancy cheese, his onion jam and grated truffle. Truly a perfect meal. I went with five other friends, and everyone, loved everything! Even the raw beef sceptic really enjoyed it!
