The best restaurants in Clayton-le-Woods and Whittle-le-Woods Chorley North West

We stopped off today late afternoon for tea and cake. We were talked through the choices......oh my word I had the best cake I've ever eaten. The pumpkin cupcake, it was sooooo good I wanted more! My partner had the ginger cake and she thoroughly enjoyed hers! We were able to takeaway cakes to and was advised that pumpkin cupcake would be available until mid November. So we are all ready planning another visit! Thank you for today!

Beautiful cosy pub, with a great varied menu . I had the halloumi salad to start and lamb from their specials menu. My wife had the chicken with a peppercorn sauce. Everything was delicious and well laid out. You can clearly see they take pride in each plate. Very friendly and helpful team, and a fast service. Definitely recommend Elliot’s Bistro!

Food was fantastic and the service was too. The food in particular was absolutely delicious. Throughly enjoyed our time at Elliot’s we are regulars and always love it.

My wife and I visited Allamby’s restaurant with two of our friends for Sunday lunch. The restaurant has been refurbished since our last visit when it was then Vardons. The change has been very tastefully carried out and to a high standard. We had an excellent Sunday lunch and it was obvious that the chef certainly knows what he is doing. The whole dining experience was first class from start to finish due to the quality of the food the really attentive staff who went out of their way to make sure that everything was top notch. We enjoyed it so much we booked for New Year’s Eve before we left.

The staff were very friendly. There were four in our party and all the food was excellent we all had a different dish. Good atmosphere all the tables were full. The only complaint we thought the larger at over £5 a pint was over the top. Our own local the Euxton Mills a similar set up it is only £4,50, This would not stop us visiting again we would make sure we chose a cheaper drink on principal. We do eat out every Sat.

Nice village pub friendy staff great beer at reasonable prices

We visited the restaurant on Sunday 10th November 2024 ,the meal was excellent but eclipsed by the service and support given by Stuart (Manager) . As a new wheelchair user the help and support given was outstanding. Stuart found us a suitable table , proving every assistance subsequently , far , far more than could have been anticipated or hoped for All staff were attentive , very pleasant and ensured that the dining experience was worry free and most enjoyable Lovely place, great staff and a lovely meal, we will be back

Having been during the week I expected the same standard for Sunday lunch. Disappointingly Sunday lunch was only average. The meat appeared to be pre packaged rather than sliced from a recently cooked joint.. going large should have included pigs in blankets... regrettably there was only one!. Overall nothing to write home about.

Hard at times to find a decent takeaway but having moved here I'm pleased to say this is one! Nice selection of dim sum, decent portion sizes and reasonable prices
