What can I say! Casa de Nettles has done it again. Tonight was Chinese Night. The atmosphere was tremendous, with traditional Chinese music. The cheesy garlic bread was absolutely stunning and made me feel I was eating in a fànguǎn restaurant in Beijing. The main foods, consisting of chicken balls, broccoli, pak choi, and egg fried rice was very tasty (bare garlic-y innit). Overall 10/10 will definitely be coming back to this restaurant to see which countries food Chef Nettles decides to cook next. 中國萬歲!
Bye love you.
We three gluttoneers invaded this brilliant eatery on Sunday just gone. We were greeted and shown to our table. The decor remains unchanged: light colours and tiles with romantic lighting. However, they had the Christmas decs up, and it gave a sparkle and a sense of the festive spirit. Great. The background music was at the right decibel level and set the mood. Armed with a couple of Aperol Spritz and the hum of other diners already there, we made our selection from quite a varied menu, especially when you include their specials' board. Our starters comprised of Shetland Mussels in a cream Pernod sauce; Mango al Granchio; and Gamberoni Nino's: all were perfectly prepared and full of flavour. For our mains, two of us went for the Halibut off their specials' board, and one went for the Spaghetti Marinara; the taste was sublime. This was baptised with an Orvieto: an Italian white with a hint of sweetnes - fantastico. We were too full for dessert and concluded this culinary perfection with a lemon tea, black Americano, a Cappuccino, two black Sambucas, and a Tia Maria - plus complimentary ones! Grazie mille. Not only that, we were given a bottle gift. Our thanks to all at Nino's for the friendship, chat, laughter that always elevates our dining experience to the stratosphere. Our compliments to their talented chefs for the gastronomic extravaganza. If we don't see you before Christmas, Buon Natale and keep happy. Ciao.
