Nino's Restaurant in Redbridge

We three gluttoneers invaded this brilliant eatery on Sunday just gone. We were greeted and shown to our table. The decor remains unchanged: light colours and tiles with romantic lighting. However, they had the Christmas decs up, and it gave a sparkle and a sense of the festive spirit. Great. The background music was at the right decibel level and set the mood. Armed with a couple of Aperol Spritz and the hum of other diners already there, we made our selection from quite a varied menu, especially when you include their specials' board. Our starters comprised of Shetland Mussels in a cream Pernod sauce; Mango al Granchio; and Gamberoni Nino's: all were perfectly prepared and full of flavour. For our mains, two of us went for the Halibut off their specials' board, and one went for the Spaghetti Marinara; the taste was sublime. This was baptised with an Orvieto: an Italian white with a hint of sweetnes - fantastico. We were too full for dessert and concluded this culinary perfection with a lemon tea, black Americano, a Cappuccino, two black Sambucas, and a Tia Maria - plus complimentary ones! Grazie mille. Not only that, we were given a bottle gift. Our thanks to all at Nino's for the friendship, chat, laughter that always elevates our dining experience to the stratosphere. Early July I had my 70th Birthday celebrations at Nino's Restaurant, South Woodford. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. About 60 people in all. We have know Nino's for years & have always been impressed with them but this evening was something special. It was fantastic. The food, the wine, the atmosphere but especially the service was second to none. From 7pm to 2am they did everything for us. James, Gazza, Sassi, Pricilla & Gabrielle & all the kitchen staff, thank you for making my 70th Birthday an evening I will never forget.
