The best restaurants in Newport Uttlesford East of England

Had lunch here yesterday. Been a few times over the years and it is always a good experience. Great menu with lots of choice, and staff very nice and polite. Recommended.

Took my Grandson out for lunch here last week, enjoyed our meal there, staff are so lovely and accommodating to your needs, food great a very comprehensive menu, and reasonable prices, nice atmosphere there too.

First visit since change of "management". Nervous because it was very good then. Still is 👍 Sunday lunch was generously portioned, tasty and hot. Beef rare as detailed and lamb also delicious. My wife wanted another roast potat! Service throughout was exemplary from fitting us in when effectively fully booked to being told ask for that potato next time. And yes, there will be a next time.

I really wanted to love this place. I have recently moved to the area and had hoped it would be my go to for coffee/brunch. Sadly I was disappointed. We waited 30 mins to get a coffee on the table. I appreciate it was a busy time and a wait for the food is understandable but please review your ordering process so you at least get your coffee within 5/10 mins. Food arrived shortly afterwards which was very nice. A member of staff did her best to placate us with a few free bits and pieces which was appreciated (no doubt as to not get a bad review). I came away very disappointed but think I will give Sparrows one more chance.
