Completely the best porridge I have ever had (and I do eat it very frequently). I was so tempted to have another bowl.. but too full up! My other half had the avocado and pea with mushrooms on sourdough with a fried egg and was pretty much blown away by that too (and it takes a lot to impress him). Such reasonable prices (under £18 total for the two dishes!) and lots more on the menu to go back and try. Really lovely staff and dog-friendly dining. Fabulous.
Paul and Sarah catered (BBQ) for a group of around 45 people at our home. The food was perfectly cooked, despite the torrential rain! The meat and vegetarian kebabs were great. Would recommend.
We popped in for a coffee and an ice cream during the heatwave. What a welcome sight! On the edge of The Green it was easy to park our campervan.
The lady running the place was friendly and gave a very generous scoop of mint choc chip. It was delicious and we sat outside to enjoy it. Highlight of my day. Thank you.
I am not a massive cake fan but I have to say there is something a little different with the wares from Vlad's Patisserie. The flavour combinations within the 'not' doughnut or Paris Brest have a real sense of thought and work that goes into them. My favourite is the apple and custard but the rest of the family were happy tucking into any of them..apparently the Rasperry & white chocolate tart (see photo) is something to behold.
We picked up 2 boxes from the Fountain pub in Tuddenham (after a fantastic meal) and they did not last long. These are not the sort of items that will have a long life in our fridge (4 kids - 3 of which are teenagers). Can't help but feel the quality is lost a bit on them though they were waxing lyrical.
You have to order through social media or regular phone call and they are prepared for picking up. I can only see these getting bigger and bigger, it's nice to find a fledgling business before the word gets out.
Just read an article in East Anglian Daily Times about Vlad...really interesting. A lockdown business.
Fantastic pizzas. Great staff. Was given a time of 1 1/2 hours wait as they were really really busy but the pizzas were actually ready 50 minutes earlier then stated. Couldnt fault in any way. Definitely recommend !! Thankyou !! 😊
The service was excellent. The food was so good. We had the chicken with tostones and calamari for appetizers. Their salmon over tortilla n green salad was very good.
This is a must for anybody driving past, stop and buy something-its all great I really love their bacon and sausages but never had anything average from there, Amazin beef for Sunday joint=yum
superb staff
A big thank you to the management and staff for a wonderful afternoon and lunch in the garden.
Always so well organised and professional under these extreme circumstances. Great food and service as always .
Welcome back and it’s good to be back!
I had pork medalions and my husband had the beef, both were beautifully tender complimented by first class sauces. The lemon tart was to die for, light and full of flavour. The ambience and service was perfect. A perfect end to our holidays. Thank you.
What a fantastic pub! Only had time for a quick drink before closing but will definitely be back. Probably the second best pub in Sweffling! We will come back soon for proper drink and food.
We drove to Walberswick primarily to go to the deli having visited a few years ago
The deli is tiny but full of delicious freshly cooked treats . A tray of Brie red onion and chilli jam quiche was just out of the oven as we waited
Being Easter we had hot cross bun home made it was unreal and sat outside is the small court yard to eat with tea
We bought red onion sausage roll to take home delicious just wish we had bought more
The only challenge is parking near by isn’t easy
We visited this pub twice in one week whilst on holiday in the area and it was fantastic both times - pretty busy too, so it’s clearly a popular pub with both visitors and locals. The staff were really friendly, welcoming, polite and efficient. The menu was varied and interesting with some good specials as well - all fairly traditional pub food with nothing too unusual. The portions were vast, even the light bite options were plenty big enough. Everything we had (starters, mains, light bites & desserts) was delicious, the homemade cottage pie was particularly tasty and came with a generous portion of 4 vegetables (so much healthier than some pub offerings where a spoonful of peas is all you get). For mains the prices were very reasonable, especially the two light bites for £20 deal, but we did think £7.95 for a dessert was a bit high (it might have been acceptable for the homemade desserts, but the same price for a commercial microwaved sponge pudding was too much). The only other thing to mention was that we observed staff petting guests’ dogs on two separate occasions and we very much hope that they washed their hands before serving the next person’s food!!
