This has won numerous awards for the beer and truly is a proper Suffolk pub. Super cask beers, lovely friendly service and a beautiful setting. A hidden gem of a pub without a doubt! Edit: it's still excellent and a place I go out of my way to visit when I'm here in Suffolk

Very fond memories of camping here in the summer, and enjoying the pub. Beautiful, old, and tucked away- and the owners are so friendly to all. Somewhere to have a proper conversation, listen to folk music, and when you walk out the door- pure silence. Wonderful.

Popped in for a cheeky couple of pints whilst staying locally and was blown away by the quality and freshness of the cask beers and cider, which were also very reasonably priced. The pub was full of locals, so we squeezed into a corner with our dog and were made to feel very welcome by everyone. This is a proper old-school drinking snug and I wish we could have returned, but as the pub is only open from Fri - Mon, we couldn't. In a world full of Sky Sports TVs and dreadful keg beers, the Sweffling White Horse is a sanctuary.

Wonderful pub, I enjoyed the night's special of Vegetable Chilli & Caramelised Leek Harissa. Perfect ale. I had a lovely night here chatting with everyone. I intially sat at the tables outside, then went indoors, which had a really good atmosphere. The location is incredible, too. Strongly recommended and hope to go again

Loved the pub! This is an über proper pub. It feels like a pub from yesteryear with no bar and drinks sold from the kitchen door by the friendly owners. It’s unpretentious, authentic serves local microbrews expertly sourced , kept and served straight from the barrel. We had great craic with the assembled drinkers in this quirky characterful wond-ale-ful pub. Just bar nibbles, no meals as this pub is about drinking and conversation. GEM!!! 🍺 PS Our dog also loved the White Horse too! 🐾

We found this pub when searching for somewhere to stay in our camper on the wild camping website. Sadly we were unable to go inside the pub as it was closed due to a lack of demand as a result of Covid. Despite this, the owner rang us back and said we could still park in the car park free of charge. She even came out to greet us and was so so welcoming (even said we could ring the front door for a pint if we fancied!) The world absolutely needs more people like this. We hope to come back one day for a pint when you’re back in full swing!

If you are looking for a fabulous friendly traditional Suffolk pub, on a scale of 1 to 10 the Sweffling White Horse is at 26. We were staying locally in a cottage and walked to The Sweffling White Horse knowing it was not a place to get a full evening meal. I enjoyed the nibbles and snack type (locally sourced) food they offered. Value for money was brilliant - a large red wine and a pint averaged about £7 instead of £14 in the seaside resorts of Suffolk. Loads of board games and quizzes to entertain your party too.

Excellent traditional pub with a tap room instead of a bar. 3 beers and a cider usually, with the beers all from local small brewers. A welcome relief from the plethora of Adnams pubs in East Suffolk. The pub has a great community feel with the main bar feeling almost like being in your friend's living room. There is also another room for those who like a bit more privacy. As if that wasn't enough, the owners Mark & Maz run a fantastic award winning eco camp site. A gem of a place. Dave & Jen

Mr & Mrs Dylanis9 and their collie (double halitosis) first visited the shambles known as the SwefflingWhiteHorse in Oct 18. Having read all the sugar-coated reviews from the local tight-knit spy network, it appeared blatantly obvious something was afoot. Perfection in a pub? Yeah right. Infiltration was the key. Dozen more recces followed over a course of 6 months, but somehow they KNEW you were coming. Makes your blood boil. I’ll catch ‘em out’, you see if I don’t. Anyhow, if you wish to imbibe your fav Aussie beverage - alcoholic lemonade concocted @ Luton, just nip 20 miles down the lane to Spoons. Anyone got an aspirin?

A real gem of a pub run by a couple who care deeply about their approach to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There is no bar, but a good selection of real ales and cider are served from the tap room and the interior is more like an old fashioned comfortable parlour. There is also a wide selection of bottled beer, wine and spirits. Pub games are much in evidence and in the depths of winter a huge Aga warms the pub. An eclectic clientele ranges from locals to those who just know a good pub when they find one and visitors staying at the associated camping site which deserves a review of its own. Ideal for families with perhaps a slightly hippie orientation, it features a variety of interesting accommodation in a sustainable and eco-friendly environment. Food options in the pub are limited and be warned, it is only open from Friday to Monday inclusive. Congratulations to Mark and Marie for having created the perfect pub.

Brilliant little gem of a rustic themed tea room in the heart of the East Suffolk Coast area of outstanding natural beauty. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.
