We were holidaying in the Suffolk area and looking for somewhere to go for an evening meal. We came across this pub which looked homely and inviting and had plenty of choice on the menu. The lady who served us was very friendly and we were treated well, despite not being locals. The décor and surroundings were lovely and the pub was very clean. I ordered the hunters chicken without the cheese, and the waitress very kindly asked if I would like something else instead. So I asked for some onion rings just expecting a couple, but they gave me a full portion of 5 which was very unexpected, but kind! My partner had the lasagne and garlic bread, he also asked for his without the salad and again they asked if he would like something else instead, so he asked for a few chips but kindly got a full portion. When the food arrived it was presented beautifully and was really hot. The chips tasted delicious. My partner was extremely impressed with his lasagne; so much so that he asked me to write a review for them, which I would have done anyway but he doesn't normally leave reviews. He said the flavours in the lasagne were amazing and that it was cooked to perfection, easily one of the best lasagnes he's ever had! We definitely hope to return here in the future, we live in Norfolk so its not too far to travel and would be well worth another visit!

Good food good service nothing to much trouble it was a busy evening but that didn't stop the to waitresses being helpful soon want to try lunch next

My and my workplace partner in crime stopped in here for some grub and a few stouts as we were staying across the road. We travel all over the uk for work, and have sampled many a remote boozer, and when we eat I don’t usually have high expectations for the food. But this place certainly proved me wrong, it was amazing! We had the sausage and mash and the homemade curry, both equally delectable and delicious. But what will also make this place particularly memorable is the fantastic staff, who were so warm and friendly, they even kept the place open later so we could finish our pints, and we had a good ol’ chin wag. This is a lovely, traditional pub with a comprehensive menu featuring many home-made dishes. I had whitebait to start, liver & bacon for my main and a delicious flapjack chocolate brownie for pudding. I particularly liked the fact that the main courses come in 2 sizes and if you opt for the "lighter" size, you have room for a starter and pudding! Really friendly, attentive service and all spotlessly clean. We were there with family to celebrate a 93rd birthday and all had a lovely time. It was my first visit but it won't be my last.

Family of 5 … double birthday celebration Warm cosy venue … all food ordered … 3 courses … each course arrived together… starters/ dinners piping hot … I chose the Lion’s famous bangers and mash … Epic and delicious! … desserts tempting… Priced favourably… will definitely visit again… can highly recommend as not one of our family group was dissatisfied by any aspect of our visit 5* service … Well done all at the Lion inn 👌🏼😎

Last minute booking for 9 adults on a Sunday lunchtime. Very accommodating and friendly staff, attentive during the meal to ensure all was well. Great choices of menu specifically as we had vegetarians and celiacs in our group, at reasonable prices, with a good choice of booze, I would definitely return and recommend the Lion to friends Thank you see you again soon. We came across this pub quite by chance due to a road diversion taking us out of our way. Found this gem - it felt like a ‘real’ pub (like they used to be!). Really welcoming and cosy and a fabulous home-cooked lovely lunch. Definitely one to recommend.
