The best restaurants in Burgh and Haverscroft Breckland East of England

Stayed there on a Friday night. Very busy but great service and the room was excellent with a very comfy bed. Lovely breakfast the following morning. Definitely recommended.

We visited on a Friday early evening, family of four adults getting together to celebrate my daughters birthday and to enjoy a catch up over a delicious dinner. Staff were very attentive and polite, we all enjoyed our food, no complaints there, the service was very good as were the cocktails and wine. So why only a 3*? The NOISE!! A table of six diners next to us found it neccessary to shout at one another, laugh like hyenas and generally make their presence felt by being complete morons. They managed to spoil our evening as we were unable to have much conversation, we ate our food as swiftly as possible, didn’t bother with desserts just a quick coffee and left. Yes, we could have asked to be moved but my partner did a quick scan of the restaurant which seemed pretty full, and in the good old English style, we didn’t want to make a fuss. If only management had been a little more vigilant and handled the situation, and asked them to keep the noise down a bit we would’ve been perfectly happy. Such a disappointing birthday meal.

Stayed overnight as a BritStop guest on our way to the coast and to have dinner. We had our 2 dogs with us and booked into the very dog-friendly snug bar (happy doggies with biscuits and water provided). We both had lovely meals including pudding. Beth, our server, was extremely friendly and helpful, and the other lady behind the bar was lovely too. Will definitely stop here again.

Visited Peter Beales and was very impressed with the gift shop & the new local food area. We went to the restaurant on the off chance they had a table for Sunday Roast & they did & it was fantastic. The meat was juicy, veg all cooked to perfection & the roast potatoes were delicious. Really reasonable price & will be telling all my friends!

First time going since changed hands. Went with friends very relaxed and enjoyable evening. Food was great . Been back three times as having new kitchen. And not been disappointed.
