We went to the Mulberry Tree and had a family meal. The venue was relaxed and pleasant. All the staff were excellent, pleasant, polite, prompt and attentive. The food was very good. Will definitely go back. The only very slight negative was the limited vegetarian choices available.

We had a lovely meal here as part of Norfolk Restaurant Week. I have to admit I only live a few minutes away but I’d never visited The White Lodge, but it was nice to try somewhere local. The staff were exceptionally friendly and we felt very looked after, the food was great but not excellent - I think some of our dishes maybe just needed some additional flavouring but this was really just personal preference. The White Lodge has both a nice dining area, or a bar area if you would just like to come in for a drink. I would highly recommend!

Family of 4, amazing food, drinks order took minutes and then up to the carvery, l the food was excellent, service is second to none, then into the Bistro for dessert and coffee. All in all, a lovely meal.

My mother and I arrived for lunch on Saturday. Firstly we were shown to a dirty table, rings from cups and salt or possibly sugar. As my mother has a walker and had taken her coat off and sat down I didn’t ask to be moved but cleaned the table myself with antibacterial wipes I always carry. We ordered drinks and food which you have to pay for upfront so no opportunity to refuse to pay. The drinks arrived, one of which was a bottle of water but no glass. I asked for a glass which the waiter came back with. The glass was dirty. I waited until the food arrived and asked for a clean glass. No apology was given for bringing me a dirty one. My mother had loaded fries at £11. Well I could see the crispy onions, crispy because they were those dried ones you buy in tubs in the supermarket, but no sign of any cheese. I started to eat my bacon, Brie and red onion chutney panini. Well I had bacon. I looked inside for the Brie. There was a sort of stain which was obviously the Brie. I’ve never managed to cut a slice of Brie that thin myself, I suspect they could see through it when they lifted it up. As for the chutney, I found a few soggy bits of tasteless brown stuff. I noticed my mother poking her chips about and asked her what she was doing, she said ‘looking for the cheese’. I asked if she’d found any and she said ‘not really’. She pushed the bowl away and said her legs were cold. We had been sat in front of the entrance and the draft was awful. I asked her if she wanted to go and she was out of her chair faster than I’ve seen someone of 88 move in a long time. All in all a most unpleasant lunch. £11 for a bowl of chips and dried onion, and £10.50 for a bacon roll. Very poor indeed.
