Visit here frequently as we live locally. Always a friendly welcome. Delicious home made food and cakes. Very accommodating with all their customers. Highly recommend.

A prebooked meal for 3 ladies. The pub was very quiet and we're shown to our reserved table. I ordered a vegetarian dish, brie, cranberry and walnut Wellington served with new potatoes and fresh veg. One friend had liver and bacon withe new potatoes and veg. The other friend had chicken breast with a wine sauce and the same vegs as us. Our meals were very nice and even managed a dessert. 2 of us had a cheese cake and I had Baileys bread and butter pudding with ice cream. All very delicious. We chatted a lot and weren't asked to leave although we were the last to leave, they were open until 11PM tonight.

A traditional country pub. Don't expect fancy food, but do expect friendly service and lots of outdoor space with plenty of seating options. Kids portions of food were really generous and good value.

We met with friends for lunch today. East bergholt is a superb location , lion brasserie is a great place to spend time meeting friends. The service was brilliant, no rush at all. I had a steak that was cooked to perfection. The rest of the party enjoyed their food as well. We had a lovely time and will be back soon.

We came for a few pints and had dinner. The staff was great to get to know. The main part of this very old pub was snug and the fire was just perfect for the evening. The beer was perfect. This is not the largest pub menu but what we ordered was very good pub food. If you go to this pub you will be treated like a local with great service and wonderful conversation.

Wonderful. I put a review on Google, but for those here - you must pay Dawn and her staff a visit. The food, service, ambience is excellent and very good value for money. Plus, even if you haven't a sweet tooth, the cakes & scones are heavenly - writing this my mouth is watering 💖👍👍👍👍👍

This pub offers a friendly pub atmosphere! Great local pub. The landlord is fantastic and very welcoming! Great drinks, open mic nights, and other themes.

I think this place does the best breakfast and coffee in the whole of Essex, the staff are so accommodating and are such a friendly bunch, it’s family friendly and has a selection of farm animals ranging from goats, horse, 2x highland cows, alpacas, pigs and donkeys, a pond with ducks for adults and children to see and a small play area for children. I just want give a massive shout out to LOIS, she really goes out her way, above and beyond to deliver the best service each and every time I visit and makes this place that extra special.
