Zouk Teabar & Grill in Manchester

Came with his a group of work colleagues for an evening meal. The restaurant is very smart and the service was very good. The menu has a good range of choices for everyone. I had the Beef burger. Wasn't expecting much from a burger from this type of restaurant (I think they just add it for the kids, or people who don't like spicy food!) and unfortunately I was correct. The burger was nothing special and similar to a pub burger you can get anywhere. I was disappointed that they wouldn't swap their (very average) fries with a naan bread. You would think that a restaurant that makes fresh naan's would happily do this? All my colleagues raved about their lovely tasty curries. So if you're reading this review and you enjoy Indian food then this is definitely the place to eat! (But I would steer clear of the burger) FYI - My rating is based on the opinions of the other 9 people I was with who really did enjoy their lovely food (and some of them had already eaten here 2 days earlier with another group of colleagues)

We loved everything we ordered. Generous portions. You can taste the freshness in each dish and that the spices are super fresh. The chefs in the kitchen take great pride in their skills and it shows. Instead of getting basmati rice, I ordered mushroom rice. It was so delicious!! Everybody at our table was happy with their food. Our waiter, Sebastian Jacob was very attentive, helpful and kind. We were extremely pleased with the food and will return. Also, they make breakfast here!! We plan to return for breakfast! This restaurant is an excellent choice for everyone who loves Indian food.

I was skeptical about coming to a place that influencers rave about, but it turns out they were onto something. Amazing fast service... within 40 mins we were sat, ordered, starters served, eaten, and cleared, and mains served. The food was absolutely fantastic. The only complaint I had was the waitress asked how spicy I wanted my jalfrezi and I asked for medium, but the curry I received was definitely mild at best. But still lots of flavours, super tasty.

An absolutely beautiful location. Night and day difference wether you want a family meal or low key night with the friends. Owner and staff are so friendly and care about their customer experience! Will definitely be coming back. Extremely affordable meals with a luxurious feel!

My friends & I visiting from the USA came here last night for sheesha, drinks, & trinity cream dessert and it was so nice they provided heaters & blankets. It was cozy & such a good time the waiters were so friendly. The next morning we came for brunch and had a mix halal, Indian, & British food. Again most gorgeous atmosphere, great service, & beyond affordable prices. Don’t let the gorgeous posh set up steer you away the prices are so good. The owner came down and greeted everyone & it was beautiful to hear the history and family dynamic in how this restaurant came to be. I have no complaints. Great foods, gorgeous bathrooms (bidet as well), great service, aesthetic gorgeous environment.

We came as a group of four, for the cooking class! WOW what a morning/afternoon. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do something a little different as a couple or with friends! All staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and kind! The owner joined us for the whole experience and gave his knowledge and advice. Thank you to the whole team! We will be back for a meal!

Really nice place very stylish and good was good, parking is accessible as there is on street parking right outside. The food was great and it was really easy to book online. Will be going again when I’m next in Manchester.

Excellent food, service and dining!

We hosted our company Christmas party at Zouk in December 2024. From start to finish the team were incredible at accommodating us and the atmosphere was 10 out of 10 the second we walked in. The food was excellent and the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. They all truly went above and beyond in providing us with a fantastic party and we enjoyed every second! We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others for large parties/events. Thank you to all the team for giving us one of the best Christmas parties and wowing us throughout!

Fantastic experience with everyone at Zouk. We went on the cooking class and everyone was so nice and helpful, we learned a lot about the history of Punjabi food which was lovely, and the food was incredible. Would absolutely recommend coming here, we loved it :)

The place has a nice ambiance and a pleasant setting, which initially made a good impression. During my first visit, I had a great experience and was looking forward to returning. However, my second visit was quite disappointing. After placing our order, the staff completely forgot about it, and even after waiting for 45 minutes, the food hadn’t arrived. When we reminded them, they rushed to prepare it, but the food turned out to be tasteless, overly oily, and lacked any care in its preparation. It felt like they were just trying to get it done quickly without considering quality. This experience was a huge letdown, especially after a positive first visit. The inconsistency in service and food quality is disappointing. I hope they improve, as the place has potential.

Desi restaurant near Manchester city center offering several South Asian options. BBQ chicken and chat had that desi flare, recommend. Serving size was a bit small. Staff is friendly.

Came for the sunday roast for the 2nd time and finally was able to enjoy it . We got the platter for 2 with topside beef , chicken and lamb , everything was seasoned to perfection. We also ordered mac and cheese , which in my opinion should have been baked a little. The fresh naan was DELICIOUS .I wish there was more of a lamb serving however the options of a spicer and mild gravy was great and refill of it when finished was great too. Only thing was my drink was a little too sweet for my liking . Staff were great too. Food was so much we had to take a lot of it home so be careful the portions are A LOT. would defo recommend and would defo come back!

Went to Zouk in Manchester, and the food was really good, Alhamdulilah! The service was a bit slow, but I’m not complaining since it’s such a busy place. I only went because the restaurant was aesthetic..

They should mention in their description that they serve alcohol. Not all of us want halal food only. You may consider Etci Mehmet nearby for a more religiously suitable atmosphere. They do not serve alcohol, have a prayer room and the portion sizes are probably much better.

Beautiful Atmosphere service was excellent our server she was amazing i loved her upselling skills she was very attentive and made sure our experience with them was amazing as well however the food was good but for me it wasn’t upto the Desi level but it was very nice Shisha was amazing as well I ordered Shisha which i didn’t like but the guy in black dress was so kind he replaced straight away and made my favourite shisha which was a very nice gesture I would definitely comeback and that is because of the amazing service provided by Chaitya and the shisha guy ❤️

We went for Christmas Day we ended up waiting one hour and half, in the waiting area. Then we had to wait another 40 minutes for our mains to come. We had kids with us and other people got served before us, even though we arrived on time. The halal roast chicken was too wet and pink not cooked at all. Veg was terrible very dry and tasted like dust. Overpriced and too much food went to waste. The desserts tasted like cardboard, we had to take the curries home with us that's too much for one person. The curries were nice. 4 curries with one naan isn't correct at all. Definitely won't be visiting again.

Attended today for my Christmas Dinner. Inexperienced staff/ lack of interest towards customers. To start with, water on the table with no glasses. Asked for glasses, waited some time. Asking staff to order drinks, to be told 'yeah one minute'. That staff member then turned to clear other tables and never returned to take our drinks order. Ask another member of staff, who took my order but the drink never arrived. Staff just seemed to be rushing around but not checking in/ taking drinks orders. The table behind us were complaining that they had been waiting 30mins for drinks. The starter was really nice, enough for 2 people to share. However the main was so small, for 2 people to share 3 pieces of potato, quarter of a chicken and a small piece of lamb and 5 carrots is a bit of a joke at £75 a head. We even asked a waiter as we were shocked that it was for sharing. Dessert was standard. Entertainment/magician was preforming, he did skip our table and another table that also had children present. After asking a member of staff where he had gone as we would like to see him/ his tricks. He came over and explained his trick aren't really for children. We asked if his proformas is for 18+ as we had 4 adults on our table and 4 children. He did 2 tricks which the kids joined in with. All in all £400+ didn't feel worth it. Looking around other customers also looked fed up. When paying we expressed our disappointment but the staff member just looked lost. I get it's Christmas day but that was a let down for sure.

I went to this restaurant on Christmas night, The waiter accidentally spilled the sauce while helping others on the table and spilled it on my clothes and face. When the incident happened, the waiter immediately wiped his own clothes and the floor without caring about my situation, and when I finally waited for a waiter to give me a napkin to wipe my skirt, he even laughed and told me that I also had sauce on my face. Later, I found that there was also sauce on my chair, so I changed my chair by myself. Because the way they deal with this is so horrible, so I asked their manager to come out. Their manager apologized and said he could offer us drinks. I said we don't drink today, so he offer us a free shisha which is 20pounds. When we checked the bills, I reminded them again that their service needs improvement. The waiter actually replied to me that we already bought you shisha for free. (Giving me an attitude like Otherwise, what do you want?) I said that the cost of washing my skirt was much more than a pot of shisha. And he gave me a very disrespectful look. In short, the dining experience in this restaurant was very bad and I will definitely not come back again.

Not pleased, waiters crowded round our table watching us eat, they made our group give them a 5 star rating before we even got our food, and then proceeded to make us do more 5 start ratings on trip advisor and bribed us with free ice-cream. Not all staff were rude but a few was.

Warning- Never every book as a group for a 3 course meal - service was so bad not joking it was really bad, i have visited there twice in past it was descent but this time was a rip off over priced for every thing even a goddam redbull was charged £5, food quantity was less and meat was dry over cooked even their chicken had no taste at all. Only good thing was their mango lassi that kept me going tbh. Wouldn’t recommend at all it’s not like before even it wasn’t busy still very unorganised management.

The staff are great no complaints there, only thing is the food is not that good. I booked for 15 people, due to this there was a set menu after looking through the menu, no one in the group liked the same thing at all. I would suggest switching the set menus or recommend pre-booking and that the restaurant have this as a written option instead of a set menu. This willl keep customers from feeling restricted especially when the deposit is non-refundable and you lose the deposit if you want to cancel the booking. 15 people all wanted completely different things so I called the restaurant and informed them of this and they were great at accommodating us so thank you! Again staff were lovely and attentive all night. Unfortunately we all got different things and still no one enjoyed the food, I don’t know if it was just that day but the food was not great.

Visted this place with my family, as we were interested to have the full roast platter, that was in my opinion rather overpriced at £120 for 4. The side of the resturant is like an extenstion i think, and had a bouncy floor, as people walked across it, the floor wobbelled, which was a bit unusual. The platter arrived, and the food was a bit cold, the yorkshires plenty of them were not fresh felt they were just reheated that had been sat around and oily. The full chicken was very dry too, but this was overcome by dredging gravy over the the cuts of meat. The lamb was nice, and moist and went down well. The beef was overcooked and again was dry and tough to eat, dont think it was topside, but a cheap thick sliced cut. Vegatables were nice, although it they were carrots and brocolli. Roast patatoes were also dry, and solid, not fluffy they way they should be, and tasted like the ones you buy that are pre-made in supermarkets, that just require oven heating. Staff only did things, when asked, and would off been nice if told us one of the gravy pots contained chilly in the sauce, as this made my stomache upset. Dont think we would visit again.

I’ve been visiting Zouk for over 10 years, and the food has always been consistently excellent - authentic and full of flavour. We’ve only ever experienced the restaurant side, but it’s worth noting that it gets busy very quickly, so plan ahead. While there is a bar on the premises, it’s separate from the restaurant. As non-drinkers, we appreciated being reassured that glasses aren’t mixed between the bar and dining areas. On our most recent visit, one of the owners, (named Amjud maybe?) introduced himself as he was passing by. After a brief chat, we invited him to join us at our table, and he graciously accepted. A humble man with fascinating stories - it made the meal all the more memorable! The only nuance was that portion sizes were slightly smaller than expected on our most recent trip, but the quality more than made up for it. Looking forward to stopping by again when we’re in the area! Accepted card payment on our visit. Staff verbally confirmed the food here is halal.

Work Christmas meal. First time I’ve been the food was outstanding and way more than we could eat. Great wines and whisky’s. Our waitress Alisha was superb so attentive, polite and focussed on our table we didn’t wait for anything. Massive that is to her and the chefs. Great service.!

Had breakfast here for my friends birthday, firstly it was very clean and decorated lovely, which is one of the only good things I can say. Secondly although the food was quite nice, It took a while to come which I found strange as there was at least 5 chefs in the kitchen and we were the only table in the restaurant at this point and we were only a table of 3, so it shouldn’t have took as long to come as it did, also we ordered sides of hashbrowns which you’d think would come on a side plate as it’s stated as a side on the menu but instead the sides of hashbrowns were just put on the plates with the other food. Thirdly the service wasn’t great, the waitresses were not very friendly and there were a few occasions that we had to ask multiple times for something, which again I don’t understand why this was happening as there was plenty of waitresses there and hardly any other tables than us. We had high hopes as we’d heard good things but unfortunately we didn’t have the same good experience we were hoping for.
