Zizzi (Tower Place) in City of London, Westminster

We’ve just had a three course meal and felt compelled to give a review. The food was exceptional, and the staff were some of the best we’ve ever encountered. We will definitely be back!!

Food was good, atmosphere and service mediocre, especially very busy and restless due to the many small children moving around the place, screaming, etc.

I do love a Zizzi. You know what you're getting. One star was removed as I dislike plates being taken away before the whole table has finished eating.

What happened to zizzi? Used to be good and having visited this one in London with my family it’s very poor. Sitting waiting for an eternity to get served, not just at the start but after dinner waiting for desert menu etc. ordered pizza and it was awful! I knew it would be thin but it was 1-2mm thick! Really really bad pizza. Won’t visit any Zizzi again after this experience.

We arrived without a reservation and they told us that they had to see if they could accept us. Then they told us we had a 30 minute wait. Finally, after about 20 minutes of waiting, they ended up telling us that they were no longer accepting tables without reservations. When we complained, they were very rude: they didn't even respond and continued serving the next person.

We have been twice, once in December, and on Easter Saturday, both times it was really busy and service, as well as food was great. The manager,Tristan, looked after us brilliantly. Highly recommended.

If I was alone I would have left early on. We did not have a booking so the hostess had to check with everyone else waiting before begrudgingly appreciating that we were there first. We were sat at an offset table in the middle of the room and I was told within a few minutes that I would have to move because the hostess could not pass by - we asked to move table after one on the side became available. After taking our order, we waited quite a while for our drinks. We realised that a set of cutlery still had food residue on it and I had to walk up to staff to get their attention. The food arrived slowly, one dish at a time, my pasta dish was warm at best and bland, the pizza arrived so thin that it had holes and barely any toppings. The staff did not return to offer any extra drinks or check up. On the plus side the calamari looked nicely cooked. The male toilets were dark and dank. Having requested the £60+ lunch bill (2 main dishes/1 starter + soft drinks) we saw that they automatically added a tip for a table of 4. With no interest in our visit or experience from the staff, we will not be revisiting.

We came in with a large group of 9 kids. They were able to seat us immediately, despite being busy. They helped us get in and out to make it back to our tour on time, and the food was super! The kids ate everything and were happy! Thank you!!

Very nice staff, and very good pizza

We got a free table straight away at 8 p.m., which was positive. The food was average. The drinks are placed on the table and no one asks who gets what. The main courses came very quickly, the starter and side salads only came 10 minutes later. Tipping wasn't optional, I think 10 percent was already included in the bill, but the service wasn't good enough for that. It was OK for the first evening after we had been looking for something for a while, but the following evenings we looked for something else.

Great food, superb understanding from all staff about coeliac disease. They asked when we arrived as to whether any of the party had dietary requirements/allergies. As soon as I mentioned mine they stop steps to ensure my experience there was safe. It was one of the best experiences I've had when eating out with regards to not being made to feel a burden as the staff completely understand what coeliac disease is and how important it is to not be contaminated.

Would never order a cocktail here again

Service: Our experience with the service at Zizzi Tower Bridge was disappointing from the outset. The staff appeared disinterested and eager to finish their shifts. Despite our request for a window seat, we were met with unclean tables and a noticeable delay in setting them with cutlery. Furthermore, the wait for our children's ice cream was so long that we nearly considered leaving the restaurant. Food: While the children's menu offered reasonable value, the quality left much to be desired. The starter of carrots and cucumber lacked freshness, and the accompanying bread roll was underwhelming. Additionally, the adult fresh pasta dishes were passable, but initial choices were unavailable, leading to further disappointment. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Tables were not regularly cleaned, and we observed leftover food and crayons strewn across the floor beneath our table. The baby changing toilet was particularly unsanitary, with an overflowing bin of dirty nappies. Overall, the lack of attention to cleanliness detracted significantly from the dining experience at Zizzi Tower Bridge.

Food was good but not special, service chaotic and a mandatory tip for service that is better at Burger King.

Really enjoyed our visit. Staff were welcoming food was delicious of quality and very reasonably priced the same for drinks. 10 out of 10. Could not fault it.

Had to wait before the clerk came and took us to the table for at least 5 min. No one else was waiting. The food arrived, the pasta was cold and the pizza was tasteless.

Visited Zizzi Tower Hill on a quiet Sunday evening, drawn in by the appealing decor. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the initial impression. Despite the restaurant not being busy, it seemed understaffed, which might explain the lack of welcoming smiles or any semblance of hospitality from the staff. It felt as though they would rather be anywhere else. Upon being seated, we noticed our table was dirty. Though it was eventually cleaned within a reasonable timeframe, the delay in service didn’t end there. It took an inordinate amount of time for our server to take our order, only to be told that our initial choices weren’t available, forcing us to settle for alternatives. The culinary experience further dampened our visit. The house white wine lacked body and tasted watered down. The vegetables served to the kids were far from fresh and lacked flavor, and the pizza was disappointingly dry. Even the dessert from the set meal took an additional 20 minutes to arrive. To cap it off, the staff’s indifferent attitude persisted throughout our visit, and we were surprised to find a service charge automatically added to our bill—a bold move considering the level of service provided. In conclusion, our visit to Zizzi Tower Hill was underwhelming, to say the least. Given the lack of warmth, subpar food, and the presumptuous inclusion of a tip for service that was barely provided, we will not be returning. Good luck to future visitors; you might need it.

We came on a Monday night and it was so quiet which was actually nice and the waiters were so funny and couldn't do any more for us! The food was delicious, I love the rainbow vegan lasagne!

Staff were very kind and helpful, my husband I did click and collect and they were out of the dish I ordered but were very quick to make me a replacement dish at no extra cost

Our first visit to Zizzi. The staff were delightful and the food great, it wont be our last visit.

We went in and sat down took a while for someone to come and take our order! We placed our order and the server was quite rude when taking it. The pizza we ordered arrived but then I had to wait for 20 mins for my pasta so my partner waited for my food to arrive so we could actually have a meal together. Meaning his pizza was nearly cold by the time it arrived. We then waited for about 20 mins for someone to come over with a dessert menu when she did she greeted us with, what? What do you want? Our desserts arrived and when someone came to take our plates away we asked for the bill and had to wait a further 10/15 mins for the bill. £5.55 was added for a tip and it wasn’t optional. Would not have tipped due to the lack of service and care! Would not visit again!!!

Genial, la comida está buenísima. Si hay algo que notamos con menos sabir fue la pasta, pero por lo demás de verdad que está muy bueno, sobretodo las pizzas. Para que os hagáis una idea, un plato cada uno par un entrante para compartir y dos postres, 55-60€.

Essen war gut. Pizza hauchdünn und knusprig wie es sein sollte . Der Service könnte freundlicher sein. Scheinen alle etwas genervt zu sein. Wahrscheinlich weil viel los ist und dadurch alles sehr laut ist . Man könnte viel mehr aus dem Laden machen . Schade … Zum Beispiel Teller eindecken wenn man sich Vorspeisen teilt …

We were in London for almost 2 weeks and got takeout or dine in several times because this restaurant was 1) super tasty; 2) had great service; and, most importantly, 3) a terrific allergy program with fantastic gluten free food. The first question you get when you walk in is "do you have any allergies?" If so, they send you their "allergy manager," who explains how to filter their online menu and order appropriately. We went to several of this chain in the UK and they were all like this! Each time I did takeout, the food was ready either right when I showed up or shortly thereafter. It was always hot and good and I was helped right away. Highly recommend!

Déçu de l’expérience vécue au sein de cet établissement. L’attente était extrêmement longue malgré le fait que le restaurant soit vide. De plus, énormément de clients sont arrivés après mais sont repartis avant… Nous avions également commander un dessert dont nous sommes en attente… Toutefois, le repas était de bonne qualité.

Absolutely brilliant, we arrived a bit early me and my mate,the staff put us on a table not being used and allowed us to sit and have a couple of beers waiting for our wives,the service was excellent. 👍👍👍

If I had to describe Zizzi Tower Hill in one word, it would be underwhelming. Starters: Bruschetta and Garlic Bread. These were both really nice. Main: Margarita Pizza and Calzone Carne Piccante. The pizza was dry and a little tasteless and the Calzone was a lot smaller than everywhere else I've had it but it was really tasty. Service: Slow. It wasn't particularly busy for a Saturday night but we were never asked if we wanted more drinks and couldn't find staff to ask; in the end we chose not to bother asking because it was close to the end of the meal. We had to find staff to ask for the kids desserts, we asked for the bill when the desserts arrived but that never turned up so ended up finding staff and paid at the till. One other thing we thought was strange; the waiter removed our dirty starter cutlery from the dirty plates and put them on the table to reuse for the main meal. Not a huge issue but something we have never seen before.

Comida regular, servicio regular.

As an Italian I cannot expect to eat the “perfect” pizza abroad, still The w three of us were not disappointed. If you like the pizza “Roman style” (thin and crunchy) this place is for you. If you like it “Naples Style” (thick and soft) you will be disappointed. My kid enjoyed his sticky pork, me and my wife two margheritas. Stefano took care of us in a very kind and friendly manner, fulfilling a couple of ad-hoc requests with a smile. The place is kinda basic, still pleasant.

It costed so much for a small portion food! I highly recommend you all not to go here. This place is terrible, not only because of the prices but also because of the quality.

A restaurant that does the job, but do not expect much. Despite a pleasant welcome, the rest of the service was disappointing, and we felt rushed (as soon as we arrived, we were asked directly for the dishes ; the waitress waited until we had taken our last bite to come and collect our plates...). What's more, when we asked for water, we were charged for a "large" bottle of water (750 mL, £4.75), even though when we said it was tap water because the bottle had already been opened, the waitress didn't even deny it.

The seat was so messy. And I ordered some menu, but I changed it to another menu because I said I ran out of ingredients, but I almost paid with the menu in the bill. The hall staff were too unkind and delicate. I'll never go again

Zizzi's has gone massively downhill over the past 7 years. It used to be one of the nicest pizza/pasta chains around but now its just another empty restaurant chain. Food has got progressively worse and so has the service with the best items continuously getting taken off the menu. To add salt to the wound on this occasion, this Zizzi's has no drinks on tap. Peroni bottles were the only choice - service was slow and bottles brought to the table lukewarm. I think this is the last time I choose to spend money at a Zizzi's, time to swap to another chain.

We went on a Saturday night, not too busy when we got there, only counted 3 serving staff and all seemed completely surprised at how busy it was (and as it only got busier). Service wasn't amazing, definitely a case of having to get someones attention to get things moving. Food was as expected (which is why we chose Zizzis as the pizzas are great). The weird part came when we ordered dessert and were told they had run out of spoons because they weren't expecting it to be so busy on a Saturday night. Not knives, not forks, but spoons were running dry here?? Very weird. Especially when they bought my son a fork to eat ice cream with, followed by a soup spoon (which to my sons credit, he handled like a pro). Not quite sure what event led to the spoon shortage but it slightly marred an otherwise good meal. Will definitely go back upon proof of cutlery supply next time.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und für Londoner Verhältnisse sehr preiswert. Der Pizzaboden ist sehr dünn und knusprig, für meine Verhältnisse zu dünn aber das ist Geschmacksache. Die Location ist nur wenige Meter vom Tower of London entfernt.

We booked a pre-theatre lunch and had a really enjoyable visit. We opted for the Chicken Milanese and Sea Bass and Mediterranean vegetables meals. The food was excellent and in terms of quantity and quality. Staff were really friendly and ensured we were looked after. We will definately return when we are in the area.

Visited Zizzi for a pre-theare lunch and had a really relaxed and enjoyable meal. We were warmly welcomed and there was enormous choice of meals to suit all tastes. We opted for the Chicken Milanese and Sea Bass with Mediterranean vegetables.Both meals were very enjoyable and of good quality. We definately will return and thank you for an enjoyable visit.

There was nothing outright wrong with this place. It was just a little overpriced and just not terribly impressive.

SO DISAPPOINTED & disgusted by the food & employee behavior. TRUTH, if management cared you'd see responses on positive or negative reviews, but there are none. We've had pizza all over the world, this hands was the worst EVER! The pizza with topping was thinner than paper. There was no sauce, it was so crispy dry our jaws are tired from chewing & gums hurt from the dry crust. We ordered take away but they didn't cut the pizza & sent us with no utensils. Side salad portion was a joke with some wilted pieces. Really mad we wasted our money here for what we got. The waitress that greeted us was nice. A male employee (food runner) Remi was belittling her in front us multiple times during our visit. He was acting very entitled, playing on his phone, distracting the kitchen staff with his antics & treating the place like his club house.

Food was delicious and fast to arrive, however we had trouble with ordering through the QR code ordering service as the last table’s bill was the only thing to show up. Waiters felt very stressed and rushed so made the atmosphere quite tense, which is a shame as the food was very good!

Great food, welcoming on arrival, came as a party of 3 for an early dinner without a booking. Empty of customers, but surprisingly slow and rude service from staff. Food was thrown down on the table and staff were confrontational. The bathrooms were over the top attempt at chic, a bucket as a sink?? With only 1/3 of the faucets worked, puddles of liquid around the urinals and blocked toilets.

I can warmly recommend this place for all the tourists and traveling families. There was a plenty of room and tables even for bigger groups. The service was very good and joyful. All the stuff seemed to be Italian speaking. We ate mostly pizza, which was excellent. I can also recommend desserts, those were very tasty too.

Le repas était bon, menu adapté aux enfants mais service assez lent et peu précis. Un de mes enfants a été servi et a eu le temps que fi ir son plat avant que sa sœur et nous ayons nos plats. Serveur toutefois très serviable et agréable, il s´agissait sans doute d´un incident isolé.

The vegan options (it is not a vegan restaurant) were so good and gave excellent value for the money, we visited 2 Zizzi restaurants. The service on the Tower Hill location was very nice. Mid price.

Having never been disappointed with Zizzi before, being in Tower Hill, we made a beeline for this one for lunch. The food was superb, as we have come to expect, and the actual restaurant is perfectly placed and beautifully laid out. However, the service really was a letdown. Not only did our starters arrive at different times, and we had to chase our sharing board twice, but we had to do this with water, too. Worse, though, was the fact that the staff all seemed either fed up or as though service was an inconvenience to them. People may have an off day, but we seemed to get them all together! Thank goodness for the pizza!

Good location, however, the service was slow. Had to call the staff to get their attention to place an order and request the bill. The food was bland, lacked flavour for me. I had the pan fried sea bass. I didn’t enjoy it and the bruschetta was okay. I don’t think I’ll be visiting ZIZZI soon. The staff however were polite, maybe it was just busy.

Would 100% recommend this restaurant. I have a severe allergy problem and the guy that greeted us asked us was there anyone with an allergy without me saying anything. That has never happened me before. He then came down to the table to discuss my options. Brillaint service. The food was lovely. I had risotto which was very tasty and my wife had a pizza which was so big she couldn't finish it. The kids were very happy with their dinner and dessert. The only thing I would complain about was my dinner portion was more like a starter in terms of size.
