We ate 2 dinners here during our vaca: this is a perfect date or anniversary evening. Very romantic. Outstanding food & service. Good prices. For small appetite, they have a smaller pasta portion option.

We had spaghetti carbonara, Neapolitan pizza, dessert and coffee. As a starter, tomato seasoned with garlic and toasted bread. Very good service, friendly waiters. The pizza dough was not crispy, but the tiramisu was delicious.

We have now been in London for 4 days with our 4 year old daughter. We discovered this Italian restaurant by chance near our hotel and were very impressed, the atmosphere was super nice, the service was super nice, especially to our daughter, and the food was great. We had pizza, risotto, lasagne and seafood pasta. Everything was incredibly good! We were so impressed that we even ate there a second time on the last day. If we are ever in London again we definitely want to come back!

Good, authentic atmosphere, very pleasant and service-oriented service and, not least, very good food. Nice to have a quiet place right near the hotel after hectic and noisy days in the city. Ate different dishes for four days and all were delicious.

We came here due to such positive reviews online but I urge you not to go here. The MARGHERITA PIZZA had a piece of HAM in it the size of half my thumb. Once pointing this out and that they just gave a vegetarian ham, we got a very minor apology from our waiter and we had to pay for the replacement pizza. I have no idea if they don't know any better etiquette or if they are just arrogant because they are established, but they don't deserve anyone else to go there with their mistake and their response.

We ordered carry out. First of all, the website offers 20% off all day everyday on takeaway but that was not honored for us (something about taxes and needing to update the website). That felt like a scam - I was surprised they advertised the discount and weren’t willing to honor it. The portions were tiny. We paid £3.75 for 5 little sprigs of broccoli. Not much meat in the meat sauce. No salad dressing came with our insalata mixta. We ordered the spaghetti pesto genovese and got spaghetti with meat sauce - when I called to let the restaurant know the server said “you said genovese, that’s meat sauce”, even though the menu item is “spaghetti pesto al genevese” and I specified pesto when I ordered. They did re-make it for me, but I had to walk back to pick it up and return the incorrect dish. Overall way overpriced and disappointing, though you may have a better experience dining in.

Very delicious Italian food , nice atmosphere, good and quick services with reasonable prices.

Location is nicely tucked in the neighborhood. Staff was super attentive and wonderful. The food was delicious and is extremely cute inside. I highly recommend stopping here for a delicious meal and experience.

I can’t recall the last time I had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. Ambiance feels like a geriatric home. Manager was incredibly impolite and refused to accommodate my three year old daughter. Not a family friendly restaurant whatsoever, and menu is generic.

Old fashioned restaurant with outdoor seating on a quiet street. Very well priced with long serving waiters. A great soup and pasta, followed by a poor main course (cooked too early, as we ate slowly). Will definitely return . Update nov24. While some dishes leave something to be desired, others are really good. Good ones from the recent trip include chicken broth soup, chicken salad, ham gnocchi, Chianti riserva

The attention and the service from the staff is amazing. Their wines are great and varied. I have dined here several times and the appetizers, the pizzas and the main dishes have never disappointed me. I'm always trying different things on their menu. The desserts are amazing, but the bread pudding is the star of the show, although it's never on the menu. If you're looking for tasty Italian food with an authentic Sicilian twist, this is your place.

Staying nearby for work and ended up eating there 4 times in the week. Everytime the food was great for all of us and the service was superb. A great little restaurant.

The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is friendly, but I do not recommend the Neapolitan pizza, as it has too much salt and the fish taste is strong. I recommend the seafood spaghetti, which is delicious and they put parmesan on it 👍👍👍

Stopped in after a long day of visiting London. Atmosphere was calm and service was GREAT.

We have been coming here for a few years either on our own or with friends. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. A nice menu full of old fashioned Italian favourites.

What a massively unpleasant experience. Walked in so excited to eat at what looked like a nice Italian place… walked out in anger. If you’re going to have outdoor seating how about popping your head out occasionally to check on your customers? Twice I had to stand up and go inside to get their attention. Took our drinks ordered then said he would return for food order… he didn’t. Offered chilli oil then never returned. Asked for the bill and guess what? Never returned. Pizza was not enjoyable and small. Pasta was so bang average my partner and I were discussing how we would’ve done better at home. Would NOT recommend. Oh and then they throw a sneaky “optional” service charge at the bottom of the receipt which they never mention unless you pick up on it.

Very good classic Italian restaurant. Friendly and efficient staff, great food and a good selection of wines. All the familiar Italian classics, including whitebait and calves liver- both done beautifully! My wife had a lovely Caprese followed by lasagne- all perfect. If you are in the Lancaster Gate area, this is an excellent place for a local treat!

A nice place with good food and excellent service.

Really wanted to love this place, its beautifully decorated and the servers were great - attentive and polite. However unfortunately the pizza was terrible, it was so soggy in the middle that I couldn't cut it without it falling apart, as there was so much cheese on it that I had to take quite a lot off. Had the house white which was not great - tasted oxidised and cheap. In terms of the price paid it wasn't worth it to me. Maybe if I'd got pasta it wouldve been better. They do add an optional service charge, but automatically to the bill so it would be awkward to ask for it to be taken off so we paid it. So be prepared to pay an extra 12.5% on the listed prices unless you specifically ask not to.

If you like store bought pasta, tasteless four cheese sauce that tastes more like no cheese sauce and a pizza that was burnt and not an all what anyone associates with a Pizza….then this is the place for you. Best part of the meal was the water!!! The service as below par and the servers preferred to chat to each other whilst we were trying to get their attention. THE WORST “ITALIAN” food we have had. Thank you for putting the chilli sauce and salt and pepper n the table…as it was the only reason the four cheese pass was edible. We are lost for worst…STEER CLEAR!! We are fully expecting a rude answer as this is clearly what the owner does when he is dissatisfied with peoples opinions and experiences. Although they can be entertaining…the answers to peoples reviews are astoundingly appalling…I have never seen a lack of accountability on this level. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about our review..all lies, right?

What a gem! We could have been in Italy. We stumbled across this place on Google maps after a busy day, just a stones throw from the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park. The decor, food, and friendly service are all authentically Italian. Beautiful pizza (thick crust - definitely NOT from frozen!), pasta and veal were all perfectly cooked and delicious.

After a busy day of theatre and shopping in Covent Garden, we decided to leave the hustle and bustle behind and take a leisurely walk through Hyde Park. Our stroll ended at Lancaster Gate, where we found ourselves feeling hungry and in the mood for Italian food. We discovered a small Italian restaurant that turned out to be a pleasant choice. The restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere with a menu that includes a variety of classic Italian dishes. We tried a pizza and the beef ragu. The pizza had a nice, thin crust and was topped with fresh ingredients, providing a simple yet enjoyable flavour. The beef ragu was the highlight, featuring tender beef in a rich sauce that was quite satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, with staff offering helpful recommendations and making sure we were well looked after throughout our meal. Overall, this restaurant is a solid choice for those looking for Italian food near Lancaster Gate. It offers a good mix of traditional dishes in a welcoming setting, making it a convenient spot for a relaxed meal.

Restaurants manage reviews. This has to be why there are five star reviews. I will not go on about the experience but we paid for food that really was not on par and sub par to what would be expected for the price. The portions were large. The Tiramisu was what spurred this review. Mascarpone is not cheap. The portion was large. For the real deal the price should have been higher. The first bite revealed the secret; it tasted like buttercream. Staff were ok but were not really engaged. I normally never leave reviews but was encouraged to do so by the group so others avoid our fate.

We had a great time twice at this restaurant that was right downstairs of the appartement we rented. The fresh pastas are to die for.

Het eten viel niet tegen maar ik ben nog nooit zo snel bediend. Binnen 45 minuten 3 gangen door op tafel, trekken de borden van tafel bijna voordat het leeg is. Dessert kost slechts 6 pond maar dat is nog teveel betaald. Wij gaven aan de niet verplicht te betalen servicekosten van 15% te hoog te vinden vanwege de zeer matige bediening en veel te snelle doorlooptijd en 10% fooi te willen geven. Hierop een zeer agressieve houding van de bediening dat wij verplicht waren 15 % fooi te geven. Kortom 1x maar nooit meer.

Absolutely superb from service to food, the wine list is excellent and the food is just out of this world best Italian food I've ever eaten. Very reasonable aswell 2 people 3 courses and a delicious bottle of Chianti £120 with service charge which of course you can never complain about when the service is as fantastic as it is

Mycket god mat och trevlig personal som gjorde vår middag till en trevlig kväll. Vi gick dit och åt två kvällar i rad då hela familjen älskade maten.

It's a lovely little restaurant just off Bayswater Road. Now run by the 4th generation of the same family. They continue to offer genuine Italian food. The Scalope Escalope that I chose as a main was served with spaghetti and tomato sauce - all cooked to perfection and perfectly balanced portions. As I write this, I can taste the subtle taste of Italy. My wife has the same experience. She enjoyed her Spaghetti All'Arrabbiati followed by Tiramisu. The restaurant is of a size that allows privacy and sufficient space. It also ensures that the kitchen and servers can deliver reasonable service. If you want a relaxing dinner, then this is ideal. Equally, if you want to enjoy a party experience, nobody enjoys a family party than the Italians. If you are ever in London, put this restaurant on your list. Amazing food and athmosphere definitely worth coming here

This place is my favorite restaurant. Everything is very delicious. You should reservation before to go.

I am only giving 4 stars for food because the bruschetta appetizer had only 4 small square pieces of bread. Maybe this is a cultural difference, as I am from the USA and our portions are bigger, but it seemed for the money, we could’ve had more bread. Outside of that, the taste of the bruschetta and our meals was wonderful! Whole family loved their meals! Would come back again! Staff was very friendly and great as well!

This is by far my worst experience in an italian restaurant, the Peroni beer was not Peroni, I had just drank a couple of Peroni's at another place and it was nowhere near the taste, house wine was like a cheap bottle from the nightshop. I asked for a prosciutto pizza, the pizza was not round, it had some of the worst, grey colour, cubes of ham on it. I ate it anyway out of politeness but then i found a big piece of plastic in my pizza. I never ever had the urge to just run away and not pay at a restaurant but this was the first time.

Very good cuisine, made at the moment. Great service, very friendly. They even got us a table so we could be on the terrace. Great price for London, not expensive at all. If you are in Paddington, don't hesitate to stop by Taormina!

Good food and quick and friendly staff. We got our food in no time, and both the pizza and pasta carbonara was very good.

The place is small and in a secluded location, but the food is very delicious. We tried pizza and seafood pasta once, which was delicious. The price is reasonable and the service is excellent.

I went in with my family because we wanted something cheap and quick, we saw the menu and we liked it. The waiter treated us very badly!!!! Obviously we left. I do not recommend it.

Always a wam welcome. I visit Taormina whenever I'm in town. Authentic delicious food. Comfy for solo diners even on busy nights (every night is busy)

Friendly staff. The food was ok. We ordered margarita pizza, risotto and stracciatella soup.

When we arrived, only a few tables were occupied. Our host assisted with a great table location and presented today's menu. Previously, we reviewed the menu online and discovered that one of our choicrs was being featured. Our drinks were on the table before we could order, and our salads followed quickly thereafter. The kitchen must be running quickly upon finishing our salads. The main course appeared. Impressive zero wait time between. After dinner, the cleanup was prompt, and the desert menu was presented. Yes, cheese cake with coffee put the finishing touch on a perfect evening. Now, as leaving the restaurant, there wasn't a free table, inside or out, everyone was being treated to exceptional World Class Customer Service.

After a long day touring, we were lucky to be seated without a reservation and our dinner was delicious, especially the Bruschetta al Pomodoro appetizer! Enjoy!!

Will not be returning or recommending. Over priced and tasteless food. Unfriendly, inattentive staff, clock watching constantly because 5 of our party of 7 were on time - the others were running slightly late. We were shown to our table and then ignored until we called on them. Very few vegetarian/vegan options. Pizza was overly cheesy with a few bits of vegetables. Frozen pizza from a box tastes better. Bruschetta was 4 tiny scraps of toast with a watery tomato and garlic salad. I specifically asked for no ice in my drink, it came full of ice. Wasn’t a great dining experience at all, especially since we were entertaining friends from abroad. Can do so much better even if staff was more friendly.

Whilst we were waiting for our other guests to arrive as we were early, the waiters began clock watching and were apprehensive in taking orders for the kids that were hungry. Had to ask a number of times to place our orders. Pizzas were terrible, not stone baked or wood fire, worse than a dominoes or supermarket frozen pizza. I’ve been to some other Italian restaurants in london and had amazing, authentic pizzas. Fruit flies flying around, inattentive waiting staff and just generally a poor service. Tiramisu was more creamy and lacked any coffee flavour. Bruschetta was probably the nicest thing on the menu but that was tiny, 4 tiny pieces of baguette with a small bit of chopped tomatoes.. Very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Wasn’t impressed at all with the food, especially for the high price. I Had Sea Bass and they ruined it with the sauce they put on it - weird fennel sauce (way too much much fennel)!! Wife had spaghetti carbonara and it was average at best…….

Great authentic Italian food and wonderful service. We had the house white wine, very nice. We all shared a pizza, manicotti with veal and spinach, a fish dish with lemon cream sauce, and carbonara. All the food was excellent!!!

Good italian food in a typical italian restaurant. However, they put an optional service fee on the receipt, 12,5% AND act as if it is not optional. Very bad reaction when we asked for the correct bill without this "optional" add on. Tips are always up to the customer! Their behaviour made us decide never to come back to Taormina Restaurant.

Double standards shown at entrance, and we were rushed for the bill and told they needed the table. The waiter took the coats of two people before us, but didn’t assist us. Waiter told us he must first “ask his boss if they can serve us just coffee.” 🤨

Went for a dinner and the pasta was really good. Some of the best I have had in a long time. The bread they serve with is also good. Would definitely recommend!

I had lasagna, margherita, and a glass of cola. Approximately 35 pounds. The quantity and taste were commensurate with the price, and the servers' service was satisfactory. It was especially fun to see the person who appeared to be the main server joking around. Satisfaction!

Unfortunately, my trip to Taormina raised my expectations in visiting this potentially quaint restaurant. The music was a radio station, so the ambience was not fitting to an authentic Italian. The staff were attentive, but it was super quiet on a busy, sunny day and they were not in the mood for friendliness or conversation. All a bit matter of fact. The fried fish was average and portion and variety were pretty poor for the price (£22). Otherwise, the sides were reasonable, decor felt right, and location pleasant, it was all just very dour and disappointing.

Veeery good pizza and tiramisu! Service was great and quick for a take away order. Definitely will come for dine in dinner soon.

Excellent dinner. Thank you Giancarlo and staff. We booked the dinner through The Fork app and sent a message earlier in the day about our kids, allergies to eggs and nuts. Giancarlo responded via email to let us know what pastors and pizza did not have eggs. We were able to order, spaghetti, rigatoni, and any pizza. We really appreciated the early notice. We each ordered a pasta or a pizza, and also split lamb chops at the table. Everything was yummy. The kids ordered the spaghetti all'Amatriciana, Rigatoni alla Genovese, and the Diavola pizza. They all finished their healthy sized portions (especially the pizza) and joked with the wait staff about the amount of Parmesan that our youngest had on his pasta. My wife had the Gnocchi con Nduja e Salsicca (which was so good! And she didn’t finish and we brought some home) and I had the Margherita pizza with some of the Lamb Chops. The pizza was a little more doughy than we thought it would be, but it was unique and so flavourful! My eldest som even had a bite. The Lamb Chops smelled and tasted amazing, just the perfect amount of char grill on it. All the staff were friendly. The waitress working the desserts was prepping them right beside our table. That convinced us to get three desserts to share. We had the Gelati, the Belgium Apple Flan, and the After Dinner Mint. Our youngest licked the Mint dessert clean, loved it. The wafers in the Gelati may have had eggs so the allergy free folks in our group ate them. Everything was scrumptious. Great spot, great ambience, and really friendly staff. we reserved our table through The Fork to get extra discount as well. This place was steady, and it looked like there were a number of locals who frequent the spot. That doesn’t surprise him because everything but the spirits was just excellent. Thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful night.

Taormina is a cozy place situated very close to the gardens. It has excellent service and a good selection of Italian food. We tried the Spaghetti Arrabbiata and the Pollo Casanova that were excellent. As it was recommended by other people, I also tried the Tiramisu but I wasn't impressed. It was good, but nothing to write home about.

We have made a reservation because it is close to the hotel and it has been an unbeatable experience. Not only for the food, but also for the workers. A 10!

We come to this place every chance we can. Great staff, excellent food and reasonably priced. Quaint and qiet with a pleasant ambiance. Can't miss with this place if you for a eat, drink, chat and be merry.

Diciamo che chiamarlo proprio ristorante italiano mi dispiace... La cucina italiana é una cucina semplice e non capisco perché mettere la panna nel tiramisù al posto del mascarpone, o perché mettere la panna nella carbonara senza tra l'altro il guanciale... Piccoli cambiamenti che però non rendono più il piatto "originale"... Cambiamenti tra l'altro che non danno di più ma di meno... Comunque per caritá ho mangiato tutto e va bene così, però che mi facciano pagare 5 sterline un cesrellino di pane no ... Menomale avevo lo sconto the fork

Food was ok. Service was ok until it came to payment time. When the guy handed me the bill, I tried reconciling it to the sounds of him clicking his fingers rudely and impatiently. And I reckon I was overcharged, but can't say for sure.

We found this hidden and we would definitely recommend it because it was delicious and the service was brilliant!!!

Wonderful ambiance, excellent service and a lovely choice of dishes. We chose sardines, homemade garlic bread to start followed by Lasagne and seafood linguine. Highly recommended just like being on holiday in Italy.
