Canto Corvino Restaurant & Bar in City of London, Westminster

Not really an Italian place. Has some options but mostly it’s British cuisine. The food was also ok, I am not too picky but haven’t remained very impressed to put it politely. Also way too overpriced for what it is, there are far better options in my opinion. Atmosphere and staff were great though.

Portion size of secondi and pasta as mains are large , so don’t over order. The best dish we had was a starter sized agnolotti primavera smothered in butter. Calamari starter with alioli was good too. My whole roasted seabass main was undercooked being translucent near the spine and impossible to filet. I should have sent it back because when I informed the waitress afterwards to tell the kitchen a head waitress returned and had the gall to insist that undercooking was intentional. Veal Milanese was meh.

Beef Tartar was not fresh at all and color was sadly black. Service was good but they are luck of authenticity over all. Search my food blog for a full review.

Delicious food and cosy warm atmosphere for a great birthday meal with friends. The tuna and the lamb ribs were incredibly and the chocolate mousse for dessert were stand outs. Waitress was very knowledgeable about food allergies and pregnancy safe foods.

Went to dine with a friend on Tuesday night; Warm ambience, cozy environment, top service and exquisite food. Drinks are amazing, I loved their signature "David"! I really appreciated that the Sommelier was not "pushy", and suggested a perfect wine within our budget range.. something rare when in London, a really nice discovery. I'll definitely go back, and since now suggest my friends to do the same!

Cute spot and cozy ambiance but the food was not good. The calamari appetizer’s portion was scarce and ironically it is listed as a “to share” dish. The ravioli filling tasted strange and was unpleasant. The chicken Milanese was okay nothing special. But the highlight of the meal was the burnt cheesecake, a pleasant surprise following a disappointing meal.

Fantastic meal on a Saturday evening. Not super busy and I think they are trying to increase their Saturday presence. However this meant we had excellent service in a nice relaxed atmosphere. All the food we had was exceptional with the Steak being a highlight. Great location just round the corner from Liverpool Street Station and can only reccomend!

We had a party of 14 in the private dining / wine cellar area. It was insanely good! The room was absolutely beautiful and candles everywhere created such an wonderful vibe. The service was impeccable - can't thank that team enough. And the food rocked! Everyone was so happy and the surprise went off without a hitch. Can't wait to go back. THANK YOU

We had an 8 person booking and everything was excellent from the moment we arrived. Service, food & ambiance was all top notch. A special shout out to our server Jacquie, she was a key piece to making sure we all had a great evening.

Very nice and upbeat yet quaint and relaxed eatery. I had a great lunch. The burrata for starters and a classic Pasta Carbonara as the main dish.Both very good.

Great experience and quality, staff is nice and helpful and the quality of food is up to expectations. It is a bit too pricey, but this is what you could expect in the area. The carbonara is strongly recommended

Cosy interior, great wine and fab food. Can't complain!

Had a fantastic evening with work colleagues in this bustling, lovely restaurant. I was early and my colleagues were late, so I was by myself at a table for 9. The staff were so polite, friendly and professional. When the team arrived we ordered some snacks to share, the padron peppers, rosemary focaccia, olives, antipasti selection, and artichoke hearts. Meats were tasty, the olives well chosen and succulent, artichokes had the perfect crunch to the bite, the peppers firm and full of favour, the bread melt in the mouth. I had the tiger prawn & cuttlefish tagliolini for my main. The prawns were fresh and the cuttlefish cooked to perfection, it was so tasty. The mousse and pannacotta did the rounds for dessert, as high standard as the mains. Unfortunately I can't recall the red wine we had otherwise I would recommend it, but the Sommelier that served us knows their wine. Ask and thou shalt receive good wine :-) I also want to highlight the staff. We had a tall girl with long dark hair and glasses serving our table. While everybody we dealt with was excellent, we saw her more than the others. We had some banter when I was promising that I had friends who were on the way, she apparently a lot of "stand-ups" occur there. She also gave some grappa taster small samples to one of the group who had never had one before, above and beyond the call of duty. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. I'll be back.

Good City authentic Italian restaurant. Fair price and good food

My business partner and I visited for the first time this lunchtime and had a lovely time. Our waitress was so friendly we didn’t get her name - sorry) and Carlos was great! He was so friendly and it was lovely to hear that he was there for the launch. I am back on 15th December with friends and can’t wait to visit again.

Wij hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Het viel ons wel op dat het hier, en in meerdere Londense restaurants rustig was in in het weekend. Wij starten hier met Parmaham, en focaccia brood. Als hoofdgerecht een mooi stuk entrecote, te samen met een heerlijk sangiovese. Geroosterde groenten en aardappel bestel je hier apart erbij. Als dessert uiteraard tiramisu. welke heel goed smaakte.

This is definitely the most satisfying Italian restaurant I've dined at during my trip to London. Every dish left me utterly amazed, especially the lamb!

Disappointing service - not only did they repeatedly walk off half way through taking a drinks order from the table, but they got the wrong order for my starter and didn’t apologise. The tuna starter was pleasant, but the venison main was tasteless and dry, and with far too much pasta for the amount of sauce. The whole thing probably cost at least double what it warranted.

Fantastic location, exceptional staff and delicious food. You can't ask for more. The best Italian restaurant in London. I recommend the lamb, the lobster arancino and the burrata accompanied by the bread they make every day.

Perfect restaurant for a business lunch/dinner. The service is exceptional, the food is varied and delicious (the pasta dishes and desserts are the stars of the menu in my opinion!), and the atmosphere is great. The only thing is that the music can be a bit loud but I've asked out the staff to turn it down and they had no problem with that.

Nicely cooked food but not freshly sourced ingredients, with the price range I am disappointed. - the tiger prawns were the most disappointing dish of the day - you can tell that they are not very fresh, the salad leaves are not fresh either - rabbit tanganelli & zucchini fritti: both nicely cooked, good flavors, but “too normal”, nothing special - dessert was good

High end dining in a great location. Great service. Great quality food and presentation. You need to make clear where the tip goes. It needs to go to the team. Also it needs to have more realistic priced wines.

We had a dinner in Canto Corvino on the 23rd of September and the service was fantastic. I have several dietary requirements and the employees were extremely attentive to my needs and checking all ingredients to ensure it is safe for me. It is the highest level of service I have seen in the City.

Yummy and the seasonal mushroom and truffle pasta was very naughty !! Otherwise good varied menu supported by an interesting wine list.

We had a business Dinner with clients from overseas, the booking was on 6th October Wednesday at their Private Dining room, unfortunately some of our guests couldn't made as they needed to catch their flight. The restaurant charged us £400 as no show on top of our 1500£ bill, Event though the restaurant was half empty on a Wednesday evening. This is outrages , even at Michelin starred restaurants they don't charge that amount, that was our first and definitely the last visit to that restaurant.

Good food, service & nice ambience. I liked their fried chips, Chicken Milanese and Chocolate Tart. The taste and presentation of the food was really good but a little expensive too.

Had a mid-week dinner visit to Canto Corvino, conveniently located near Liverpool Street, but down a quieter road (nice not to have the hassle outside your window). But could miss it if you're not paying attention. On arrival there was a large window so you can see the inside clearly, the venue is nice with a lovely ambiance. It wasn't too busy so we were able to have a conversation without too much distraction. The staff was pleasant and attentive, and the food was nice I had the veal, I would have opted for a fish dish but it didn't quite excite me. Had a nice selection of wines. I would more likely return and have a drink at the bar...as Nothing was wrong, just wasn't wowed

Top Italian innovative and refined cuisine!!

My first visit here with a friend , the staff are so welcoming and really kind. The menu had a good variety and the atmosphere was really nice… no one would think it was raining outside. For a Wednesday it was busy but there are enough staff to take care of you and the food turn around was quick. I’m sad I didn’t take any pictures as the food presentation was beautiful and the halibut was to die for and dessert was beautiful. To waiter and waitress who served me thank you for sorting out my meal replacement today and handling everything quickly- it’s much appreciated . I can’t wait to return.

I felt like this was the only place I ate in London for 4 days that had food made with depth by someone who knew the ingredients and taste. It was a high-quality dish made delicately and precisely with fresh ingredients. Absolutely recommended!!! French style rather than authentic Italian. This is a level that is hard to find in any big city. The waiter's service and chef's response are a bit awkward and not friendly, but the atmosphere and taste are overwhelming. I didn't take a picture of the menu, but it was perfect, including black pasta with fish, grilled shrimp, salad, and caramel tart.

The restaurant is located in a side street near Eataly, near Liverpool Street station. The location is cozy, the food is good. The flavors are Italian but the portions are small and the price exaggerated!

Excellent food and wine, and a great atmosphere

Relatively classy Italian restaurant that majors on a fairly short menu done well. Was surprised by the amount of meat on offer, and fish too. Starters very good indeed. Wine list is long, regional and just about ok. Service ok, but slow and hesitant on a busy Tuesday night. However, was always polite and professional. On balance, I'd go again based on this visit.

All the dishes were delicious and I felt like the menu was carefully researched. I heard. It was a bit disappointing that I didn't feel that friendly. Overall, it was delicious so I want to go back.

An enjoyable Thursday lunch with a good friend at Canto Covino which is a upmarket Italian restaurant and favourite with city workers. Everything we ate was very good with both of us having a pasta starter with my friend having the salmon main whilst I settled on the pollo Milanese. We did not need any side dishes. We chose an organic red wine which was ideal for lunch though took time to open. Service was okay and the room has a nice atmosphere. We would happily go here again. It is expensive and prices have gone up since our last visit. For 2 courses + wine, water and 2 coffees the damage was £186 for 2. This did include a 15% service charge. Considering our wine at £50 was at the lower end of the wine list you can easily run up a big bill here.

Excellent Italian just across the road from Liverpool Street station. It's not too big, and the tables are nicely spaced apart. It's a good place to go for a chat without having to shout to hear each other. The food was exceptionally good. Lots of interesting menu choices too. Plus a good selection of wine by the glass and bottle. There is a bar here too so you can grab a drink if waiting for others to arrive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Don’t go, so mediocre,,terrible service, Fish was dry and over salty. Chips were cold.. and staff indifferent. Overall food more on a par with chain pasta restaurants found in shopping centres.

Was taken by colleague for business lunch. Very good varied menu with all usual crowd pleasers and some extras. Good warm and buzzy atmosphere. Perfect for a long relaxed lunch or dinner. 3 hours passed in a flash with great food and service. Very happy to go again and recommend. Not cheap but still felt like good value. Bar area looked good for quicker, cozy bite or drinks.

Of all the restaurants I’ve eaten this is by far the best! Ate carbonara and I must say it was one of the best I’ve ever had outside Italy. Honest prices and kind waiters.

Very pleasant works dinner with colleagues. Food was excellent: lamb chops followed by sea bass. Triple cooked chips were delicious.

The good: very fresh and high-quality Italian products (Italian here, I can vouch for them), fantastic atmosphere (great for a date!), staff (friendly, helpful, polite and they do their best to make guests feel comfortable), location (in a pretty alley very close to the station, beautiful interior design). The so-and-so: dishes were remarkable but to be honest I expected better for the price. I found it on the expensive side compared to all restaurants in the area and even some Michelin-starred Italian restaurants in central London. But to be fair, portions were quite generous. Would I return? Yes, and for 3 reasons: 1 - I think it is one of my favourite restaurants in London in terms of location and interior design; 2 - The staff were lovely and made my date super special (Thanks!); 3 - I want to give the food another go, maybe I was distracted by the conversation and didn't really concentrate on flavours too much.

Wen there with my business partner for a business lunch. The food was actually nice and delicious which I thoroughly enjoyed. However the service was quite slow and it took us about 35min to get our dessert served. Overall the experience was not too bad and will come back when I am next in London

Exactly what we needed on a hectic evening in London. It was very zen, had a few tables free, and the drinks were fine. Only stayed for one so can’t judge past that.

Came here today for lunch. Ordered the carbonara and my friend ordered fettuccine with prawns. We were in 100 percent agreement that this was the most tasteless Italian food we had ever had in life. It was criminal to have such lack of flavour. Not sure how this restaurant has an 4+ star rating. The foccacia bread was ice cold as if it had been taken out of the freezer. Despite it being so cold, the bread was the best part of the meal. The service was awful as well. I will never return. Save your money as there is better quality Italian food at Spitalfields Market nearby.

Had a business dinner here on a Monday night in December and was pleasantly surprised that it was busy with a buzzing atmosphere. Received a warm welcome and attentive service throughout. It is rather on the pricier side for this area but it broadly matched up with the experience and the Italian food was very well executed on the whole.

Everything about this place is great. Superb for a client lunch / dinner. Food +wine menu are 10/10, really cosy intimate private dining room downstairs. Highly recommend

Was there early December with a small group. Very cozy and christmassy festive feel at the same time. Our party arrived at different times and the restaurant was very accomodating, service was good as was the food. Would definitely go back.

Great service and lovely food for a corporate event

Excellent restaurant close to Liverpool Street station with good service. I visited this restaurant in early November 2022. The menu has changed recently so bear that in mind when reading reviews before Nov 2022. I had the sea bass dish and Tiramisu for desert. Both were terrific. Other dishes to recommend is the Hake and crab ravioli pasta.

They saw me wearing trainers and they told me it was closed that was at 8pm and they close at 11pm.

Very disappointed by the food here: I had the carbonara pasta and it was absolutely tasteless, watery sauce and a lack of pancetta. All this for 24£… it would have been better to have processed pasta from any UK supermarket. My partner had the tuscan sausage pasta dish and whilst it tasted better ( not a hard thing) it was again not what one would expect from an Italian restaurant in terms of flavours. I will definitely not come back. The service was attentive and nice.

Italian cuisine with a twist. I had crab ravioli and monkfish+prawns, both very tasty. The portions are just about to have starter, main and have room for dessert. Huge selection of wines.

Beautiful place - quiet and has a great seating. I loved the experience with 4 of us. There are plenty of pubs around but this was much quieter. The cocktails were great - among the best I’ve had. People are friendly and very good service. They also have a restaurant area but reservation is recommended as it tends to get busy. They take walkins, particularly for drinks. It is centrally located, about 2-3 mins from the Liverpool Street station. A nice place for a relaxed evening. Do note however, they come with a 15% service charge.

Exquisite, high end Italian food - had delicious, sticky, crispy lamp ribs as a starter and tender Iberico pork as a main. Beautifully seasoned veg, too, and crisp straw zucchini fritti on the side. Drank a delicious valpolicella with it. Not cheap but really very special.

An Italian-style restaurant. The seats by the window had an open feel and a nice atmosphere. The wine was also delicious.

Ate here of a weekend evening, was surprised it wasn’t busier. It’s a really nice Vibe, pretty chilled, relaxed but the service is very good. Had a drink in the bar area first and went through to our table where we had the most delicious...

Tucked down side street opposite Liverpool st station - doesn’t look promising initially. Inside though nicely done - modern brasserie feel with space and windows open on to narrow street. Open kitchen area along one side. Bigger than you would imagine (3 shop fronts wide)....

The food is over-priced for what you get, particularly if you order the carbonara. It's not bad by any means, but felt rather 'meh' for the nearly £20 price tag. This may come down to personal preference: I prefer an egg rich sauce on my carbonara and intense flavour from the guanciale or pancetta; this was light on the pork and, instead of having egg in the sauce, came with a poached egg on top. What this creates is a mouth feel that leans more towards slimy than silky, the richness of the egg yolk not having an opportunity to meld with the other ingredients, causing the dish to feel disjointed. Having married into an Italian household that has strong-held beliefs regarding the preparation, taste, texture, and balance of dishes, I can say this wouldn't fly with them. Nonetheless, Canto Corvino boasts an impressive wine list with intimate interiors and is well-located for those looking for an apertif or dinner in The City. Further, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the facilities were clean. If you are looking for authentic Italian in the area, there are better options out there. I feel Canto Corvino is ideal as a wine or cocktail hour spot to catch great drinks and light bites, but feel their mains left much to be desired.

Very welcoming from the start. Creative menu. Delicious, well presented and tasty food. Excellent and attentive service. Really enjoyed our evening and would definitely go back again. Lovely homemade petit fours but maybe change one to a pate de fruit so they aren't all chocolate....

Our server was really sweet, other than that, this place; an absolute no. Poor food quality control, slow service due to high unemployment in the restaurant and overall a lazy vibe. 3 stars for our server (the one with the curly hair and glasses, forgot her name)
