Friendly and attentive staff and authentic Italian cuisine in stylish surroundings. The beef carpaccio was to die for, incredibly tender, and melted in the mouth. The calves liver and mash was fantastic. Cocktails delish, plus of course Limoncello was a must. Highly recommeded.

Limited menu but top quality and great value for money

I stumbled across this lovely, cosy Italian restaurant on my way to another one. This is a gem- very nice staff, excellent food and a surprise from the chef- zucchini fritter with Thai? basil micro herbs. The homemade pasta is delicious.

Excellent, authentic traditional Italian food, very good choice of wine at sensible price points and friendly, professional staff. Will definitely return and recommend to friends who want to catch up in a pleasant ambience over good food and wine.

Great staff and good ragu, but a little bit loud music

I went to Al Duca’s original location 2 years ago, my first time visiting the UK from the US. I have been thinking about this place ever since, and l am so so happy I was able to come back and visit this place again at their new location, with my friends and Fiancé. The food was delicious, the environment was excellent and we were treated in an excellent way by the Manager Ivano (I apologize if I am mispelling your name) and the staff at the restaurant. This is by far the best italian food I’ve had, and I cannot wait to come back and visit this place again. Thank you Al Duca for the great food and the great memories!!! I will always eat here when visiting London.

This is a gem of a spot and we really enjoy dour lunch here. We had delicious pasta and wine. The service was really friendly and attentive and the food was great. Very much recommended and we will be back in the future!

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Al Duca tonight. The menu and the location has changed. BUT, The awesome quality and authenticity of the quintessential Italian food is the same. God bless. The fun of the experience is still alive. We had small plates, Cicchetti, as we haven’t been there since they moved to a NEW place. OMG, what a great food. Not too salty like in most NEW Places for quick fixed taste, the pasta is mind blowing. We had 3 pasta dishes lol including 4 “starters”. Our favorites are Zucchini fritti, Grilled Asparagus, grilled goats cheese, and ALL pastas, pasta with lamb ragu, pasta with black truffle and pasta with crab. Wine was world class “old world” Italian wine. Almost the same price as in Vivino!!! Rum baba (sorry as it is not very Italian) is delicious with a very pleasant twist. The service is very welcoming and warming, we even have “complimentary” digestif. Thank you very much. Value for money unbeatable, especially in this post COVID period. Please help me God to live longer to have more fun at Al Duca. After so many years, Al Duca remains one of our most favored go-to restaurants, a testament to its enduring quality and charm. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, well-executed Italian dining in London.

We walked by this place and decided to check it out. It was a fabulous discovery. Friendly attentive service and delicious italian comfort food. We had a beef shoulder ragu special and an eggplant parmesan both very tasty and a terrific rum baba to top it off. We would highly recommend.

The real Italian food last week I went to with my wife and friends, I really loved the lamb ragù pasta, it was exquisite. The truth is that we ate almost the entire menu, super delicious, the guys who served us were super friendly, always attentive to the table and the chefs were very professional. I recommend it 10/10 if you choose where to eat at Uk Restaurante Al Duca, a true delight 👌

An Italian restaurant that serves most of its dishes in 2 sizes. We decided to try several dishes by selecting the smaller portions - Italian tapas. Food was superb. Lovely pasta dishes, fantastic calves liver with mash and zucchini fritti which came with a delightful lime mayonnaise dip. Serving staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Very nice lunch, thanks.

They let us in a little early as we got there just before opening and it was raining. The manager was so sweet, and the food was amazing! Tiramisu was to die for! Couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you for making our evening!

The menu is fairly diverse and food on the whole excellent although some of the servings were a bit strange. The waiters were very attentive but didn't always seem to know what to do e.g. pouring far too large glasses of white wine.

Restaurant is closed down. We wasted time attending to find it was closed.

Enjoyable pre-theatre meal at Al Duca. Very good food and good service although, like so many restaurants, they did go AWOL when we were ready to pay ! Chicken Milanese was very good and a generous portion.

This restaurant cancelled my booking for New Years Eve. 7.30PM 2024 without meaningful explantion. THIS RESTAURANT WILL CANCEL YOUR BOOKING WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT SO DONT' BOOK WITH THEM AT ALL AND GO SOMEWHERE THAT HONOURS THEIR BOOKINGS AN PLANS AHEAD.

Great service on a very busy pre Christmas lunchtime. If you want good Italian food & wine at a sensible price this hidden gem would be an excellent choice.

What was once a great restaurant is now bog standard at best. Staff tried their best but average food, order came out cold, sent it back, they returned the same cold food. Don’t rush here folks, such a shame as it once thrived, which is why we booked.

We eat regularly here and it is brilliant every time….we usually choose go for a lunch, but occasionally we dip in for an early supper if we are going out to a show, either way the experience is always worth it.

An ok place to go if you're hungry after a show, but not a place to go for a special meal. They had run out of gin by 8pm on the Saturday I went and the reason they gave was that it was a Saturday. Go figure! The asparagus starter was tasty, but not very well presented, but I can live with that. What did surprise me was that the creamy mash with the Octopus was the consistency of soup, so everything was totally drowned in it. They did provide a spoon, however, but it was far too salty for my liking anyway, so i left most of it. The service was efficient and very few people looked as if they were lingering over their meal which, i think, was the intention of the staff . The ambience reflected this rather sit, eat and go style of restaurant.

This is a nice restaurant with a very friendly and professional restaurant manager. The interior is spartan but nice. The food is good, and the servings are generous. But the competition among Italian restaurants in London is tough, and there are many great restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed our visit though.

Went there for supper after a wine tasting at L'Escargot last week. Lovely Chicken Milanese - my wife dined here once a week for lunch for several years in the early 2000's and, reliably, it's still good value, good service and good food and wine. Had a Tiramisu each for pud, should have shared one!

Al Duca's price to quality ratio puts it into the 'excellent' category IMO. Nothing flashy; everything is just right. Plus very friendly and attentive staff.

Wonderful service, excellent food, good value for money. Only place I know that would happily provide you with lovely simple boiled new potatoes. Definitely recommend.

Lovely Restaurant tucked away off Piccadilly so a bit of a hidden gem so not terribly busy for a Wednesday night but the food was excellent, the service great and for meeting up with friends I hadn’t seen for a while it was perfect as you could actually hold a conversation without shouting which has benn my experience with some London restaurants. A little pricey but we got a 20% off food deal so ended up being fairly reasonable. Would definitely recommend and shall return.

We found a peaceful elegance in the simplicity of the decor and the freshness of the food that stood out because of the quality and seasoning that enhanced the food rather than change the subtle flavors. Loved the stoneware and the presentation.

The chicken milanese my son ordered was good. my fish tasted ok but my stomach was very upset shortly after eating. someone else in our party ordered the seafood risotto and also had upset stomach. The waitress was nice but not very attentive.

We greatly enjoyed the pre-theatre menu with excellent sea bass and chicken Milanese. Decent portions and well presented. Helpful friendly service and nice relaxed ambience. Only drawback - high wine prices which meant 2 x £26 menus with add-ons plus bottle of wine came to £130.

Went here for a business lunch. Restaurant is nice and welcoming. Menu offers Italian classics. Prices are ok considering the area. Except the wines which I found quite expensive. Service is a bit too present for my liking. I had the culatta which was quite nice and pasta with wildboar ragu which I found a bit too bland for my taste. I like it with more meaty taste. A small comment on the portions, the other person that was with me ordered the same pasta and his portion was literally double mine. I still had enough on my plate but it was a bit strange. All in all, it is a good and efficient place if you want to have lunch in the centre.

Really quaint restaurant, really good for pre theatre dinner

I’ve been going to Al Duca for 15 years but not regularly. This was the first visit for a while and I was very disappointed at how this once great restaurant has regressed. The menu was limited; the food ordinary; the wine uninspiring and the service lazy. For a Friday evening the atmosphere was limp with only 4 tables occupied. All this did not justify the cost which was significantly out of proportion to the overall offering. What a shame! Al Duca has deteriorated badly and needs to recover its former glory before I return.

Authentic Italian food and friendly service! I've been there a couple of times about a year apart: once for dinner with friends before the theatre, and another time for lunch while doing some shopping. I would recommend it and would definitely go again!

The scarce food and the treatment worthy of putting the following review: We were treated very well at the beginning by both the manager and the waitress who served us (a girl with glasses and a ponytail). When she brought us the bill, I politely asked them to remove the supplement for the service (since it is optional). When I said this, the waitress changed radically. a little more and he insults us...brutal, to anyone who reads this review, do not pay the supplement, it is OPTIONAL and you will see how "well" they are treated when you tell them about it. On the other hand, the restaurant is quite expensive. My advice: That the manager of this restaurant educate his staff or find a new one. Greetings

Very unfriendly waiters. Only the owner was friendly

Lovely service but mediocre food and horribly overpriced for the quality. Drinks especially expensive. White wine spritzer was flat, made with lemon and cost 13.50 per glass for poor quality wine and a bit of soda. Very quiet ( hardly anyone there on Sat night) but such loud music we had to ask twice to change to something quieter. Would not return.

Efficient and friendly service. Menu a little limited, but well cooked. One starter really excellent, the other less so - tasted a bit ordinary, though excellent ingredients. Main courses were very good. And I suppose prices for that district, at that quality, will tend to be on the high side.

This was the first meal we’ve had here; a place that has been in the neighborhood for years. Quiet space, warm colors and cozy on what was a damp/drizzly evening. We were there for early dinner so service was prompt. My husband was disappointed in the pasta al vongole which for some reason was liberally seasoned with crushed red pepper. This is not the usual preparation for this dish. It was so hot to the point of not being enjoyable. Moderately priced wine Otherwise a nice meal.

Great Italian restaurant in the heart of St James. Both our dishes (Crab tagliolini and Chicken Milanese) were excellent. Prompt and efficient service and for this part of London good value. Obviously popular as it was very busy on a Tuesday lunchtime so probably best to book.

We happened upon this restaurant after an event nearby, and arrived at 9.30 pm. We were made to feel extremely welcome. We very much enjoyed our meal, which was very attentively served with advice given about what to choose etc. We will most definitely return.

It took quite a long time for the main course to be served, perhaps because the restaurant was busy. I had the impression that the volume of the menu was a little small.

Great location, lovely posh restaurant. Probably ideal for business lunches especially when wanting to impress boss or customers, but it's unlikely I would return with friends. Described as authentic Italian, but to be blunt, it isn't. It's an English take on Italian food, for example pasta was no better than what I've had at Prezzo. I would expect better for the price paid. There's a place near Edward Road Station that is the place to go if you want closer to the Italian experience at a sensible price. Al Duca was simply way too expensive for the quality of food served. Service was good.

A very friendly little room, exceptional service. It wasn't a first at Al Duca but I found the kitchen a little behind the scenes. Extraordinary crab pasta, good gravlax salmon, really excellent chicken Milanese. Disappointment for the duck which was not very generous and served lukewarm. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere on New Years Eve 2023. Outside was raining and Piccadilly was very crowded and noisy. We have been many times to La Duca and will keep coming back. Excellent all round

Italian restaurant with genuine but refined cuisine, very pleasant environment, despite being in Piccadilly it is in a quiet and peaceful side street. The second courses were excellent, especially a very tasty duck breast with Jerusalem artichoke sauce.

Excellent meal - ordered the tuna, steak and tiramisu- all which were excellent. The staff could not have been friendlier - including letting us taste some Italian red desert wine for free and the comparative dry version (based on Amarone). Will definitely return.

The food was good and the staff were friendly but my personal opinion is it isn't worth the cost. The tiramisu was coated in such a thick layer of cocoa it was hard to swallow and the food was nice but honestly not much better than many chains. Certainly not worth of the prices

The food was good and some of the service was good. However one of the servers was quite rude because we had not ordered more than two starters each, even going off to complain to a colleague about it within our view. That was really disappointing as otherwise I liked the restaurant and would go back.
