Zizzi (the strand) in City of London, Westminster

I went there to get a take away pizza. On my way home I checked my receipt and I got charged 1.75 tip on top of my takeaway pizza. Which said on the receipt it was optional. The waiter never asked me to add the tip just added himself. Which I am sorry but I don’t give tips for take aways unless I am eating in the restaurant. I thought that was very cheeky.

We were served by Mannuela, shes originally from Italy, precisely beautiful Sardinia. Mannuela was VERY professional e her service was 10/10. Wish I could be served like this in my hometown.

We visited the restaurant on Wednesday evening and even it was very busy we received a super quick and lovely service from our waitress, Krisztina. The rustica pizzas are huge and delicious, highly recommended! Definitely would come back again!

Staff friendly food excellent 👌 Staff were excellent they said there could be 30 minute wait ✋️ we didn't mind we sat at our table and enjoyed a relaxing drink in fact we only waited around 15/20 mins moral of the story is to be honest with the customer well done .

Lovely service from Jessica and great food

Service was slow with a total lack of attention. There were long waits between courses. A round of drinks including hot items was left on the bar for at least 15 minutes after preparation. The main course was served before the starters had been cleared. When dessert was served, the order was incomplete. The staff seemed disorganised and lacking in any managerial guidance.

I visited Zizi on Saturday the 23rd of March with my son for a belated Mother’s Day treat. On arrival we were greeted by the Manager Lindsay who was very welcoming and friendly and seated my son and I straight away. We were then served by a lovely waitress called Alivia who was very pleasant and very professional and friendly we also was served by Saffa who was also very lovely and professional. We met Keri who dealt with the meal I chose as I was worried it would be too spicy so she asked the chief to not put any spices in my meal. Overall the staff were amazing the food was absolutely delicious the chief Fatjona is an amazing cook and a lovely woman. I will definitely be visiting Zizi again. Service, food, staff, environment all amazing. See you all again soon 🙂

Myself and my family had a wonderful meal today for our grand parents 60th anniversary meal. Jessica and the assistant manager (didn’t manage to catch her name) were incredibly welcoming and helpful. As another zizzi employee I can safely say the staff gave an excellent service and food was prepared amazingly! Would highly recommend for a large party meal and will be returning soon! Thank you to all the Zizzi team :)

Took my Daughter for lunch. Had prawns to start which were delicious. Then had some chilli pasta. Didn’t want the wagu meatballs just the pasta. They said this was possible. When the bill came they charged for the meatballs as well. I asked why and they said it’s because there was nothing on the till for just plain pasta with a sauce. Not sure why they couldn’t have just let me pay for pasta. That is such a rip off. Would not go back!

They charged me the same Bill twice. I vizite the restaurant (01/03/2024). I paid the bill with the barcode and then, it was written on my phone “show it to waiters or something like that”. they said to me, they need to take the payment again. I said okay and then paid it with card machine. Both of the payments went through. After a week, I went there and explained that they said okay they will call me. But no one called me or informed me. They didn’t refund my money back! Be careful when you pay there!

I sat for a good 2 hours ordering a starter, main and wine. All that I got was starter and a bill for everything! If you are taking your girlfriend this is one place to avoid, unless you are planning not for a happy ever after!!

Average to good thin crust pizza and a decent pasta. Nothing fantastic but reasonably priced and quick service. Can’t complain for a quick meal.

Food looks nice, portions are quite big. However, calamari starter was not salted at all (ok, I could salt it by myself) but linguini was overcooked (not al dente!) which is not acceptable for Italian restaurant I would assume.

We had dinner on a Sunday evening, without reservation, it was quiet 👍the staff is very friendly, Mia our waitress tried to speak French with us 😁 The setting is great, the meal delicious and the Italian beer great 🍺 We had a great time, thank you 😘

It’s busy of course because we went before the theatre but that’s why it’s the perfect place to go for good food in good timing and so close to the theatres on the Strand.

Zizzi the strand london .Went to book at lunchtime for evening booking Saturday was told you cannot book a table in advance( not unusual on busy days ) and to return later as we did.only to be asked have we booked! she then recognised me from earlier in the day and frantically checked availability several tables empty I assume reserved.we left unhappy my point is if you are fully booked that's fine say so .we went to pasta di piazza they couldn't have been more obliging.

Good food but was not expecting to walk down a flight of stairs with 2 sticks. Visited with my daughter prior to going to the theatre to see six. Usually i take photos but today i wasn't thinking so i only got the puddings.

I booked a table online several days in advance for a table on Boxing Day for dinner after seeing a West End show. On the morning of Boxing Day they rang me up to say they were shutting early and could not honour my booking. I asked them why they accepted it in the first place and they said they had forgotten to adjust the settings on their website. I asked to speak to a manager and was promised a call back. Over a week later and I am still waiting.

Delicious food, especially the vegan rainbow lasagne. Great service.

The kids love zizzi food, and so do we! It's reliably good food and the atmosphere is always great.

We decided on Italian food and hadn't booked a table after going to a show between Christmas and New year so London was as you'd expect really busy. We didn't have to wait long to get a table and our waitress came over and took our drinks order. We decided on starters of cheesy garlic bread, calamari and brushetta. Personally the garlic bread and calamari were great value for money but the brushetta seemed overpriced for the mount of food on the plate. Main meals we had were chorizo carbonara, prawn pasta and the sticky pig pizza. All good large portions but took over an hour from our starters to come along. This seemed too long for a restaurant that wasn't completely full. Service was ok, and automatically included in the bill. The ability to order from the table and pay online was useful. Reasonable meal, longer than I'd like to wait. Roughly £30 per head with a drink.

Very peculiar... We went to see a show at the theatre across the road. Knowing the show would end at about 10:15pm we thought we should make a reservation for after this. We saw the Zizzi across the street so thought it a good option. I went on the website to see if we could make a reservation, it allows for reservation up to 10:45pm as it closes at 11. Made a reservation for 10:30 I had my phone on silent obviously during the show. I had a missed call from a London number.. We got over to the restaurant at 10:15 and the place was empty and the waitress said we're closed. (This was Saturday and they are open until 11 according to the website) We said we had a reservation for 10:30 (so we were actually early).. Apparently they called me at 10 to see if we were coming.. Not sure why as our reservation was for 10:30!... she begrudgingly showed us to a table and said we have to order quick... We considered leaving but didn't know where else to go at that time.. We ordered but just felt uncomfortable and rushed. The waitress then switched modes and was very friendly.. The food was nice but the experience wasn't. Either you can make reservation for that time or not, you are open until 11 or not.. Get your facts straight.

Went here for a quick lunch with my mum and partner. Our overall experience was a negative one due to the rudeness of a waitress called Clara. She was abrupt, unfriendly, and hostile. If she was like that with us, I cannot imagine what she is like with other customers. I would like management to contact me so I can discuss this further because I am shocked she is working in customer service. We spoke with the senior and informed we would be removing service charge. If she treated us the way she did I am sure she is losing your business money because no one should pay service if they have to have her waiting on them. Food was good, so such a shame the other elements of a great dining experience were ruined with her attitude. I won't be coming to this branch again. Luckily it is frequented by tourists who do not stay in the UK so probably have no opinion on poor treatment.

Food is generally okay. They automatically add on an ‘Optional Tip’ of 10%. Not sure why this is automatically added as the purpose of the tip is to reward good service and not something that should be automatically added to a bill regardless of service. Most people would feel awkward about asking this to be removed which is probably what they are counting on. Also weren’t able to use our vouchers because of the amount of rules they have added to the terms and conditions. Not a great experience.

fantastic meal, really delicious food & lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the kids got what they wanted. No ridiculous toddler request was too much, and Karolina in particular ensured I didn't feel bad for my daughter's requests and changes. If made lunch out with kids enjoyable!! Which is quite the accolade! Thank you

Visited Zizzi’s after watching a show across the road , to use a gift card given to me as a birthday present. Arrived a few minutes earlier and was seated immediately , within minutes of sitting down we were asked what we wanted to eat and was told that the festive menu would take 1.5 hrs so if we were in a rush then we shouldn’t bother with it , I can’t fault the food as it was delicious but when we came to pay I said that we had a gift card to use and there was £50 on there , handed it over to the waitress ( may have been a manger as she was in a suit) for her to swipe on the machine and it showed it had declined due to the expiry date, she then asked when we’d gotten it , so I explained if was a present at the end of October , she then said well it’s expired , tried it again with a lower amount and again it declined , she then became a little accusatory as if it was a dodgy gift card and when I tried to explain the situation( and was getting upset) she basically said not our problem talk to the head office and thrust the card machine under my nose for payment , she also tutted when I asked her to remove the ‘optional’ tip from the bill

The garlic bread was to kill for! Other than that every thing is acceptable.

Loved the food. Pasta didnt have salt but was flavourful. Rainbow vegan lasagne was good but a bit oily! Fudge vegan cake was to die for. We got 25% weekday offer ^_^

Ridiculous waiting time!! We went for a pre theatre dinner on a Thursday night, but we had to wait an hour for the starters and in the end we had no time to get desserts because the restaurant was too busy and waiting time too long. I understand the company wants to make money sitting everyone but they should prioritise the customers that are already waiting for their food

Very expensive and small portions. But the worst thing was when we were on our way out of the restaurant we witnessed the chef dipping his fingers into a plate of food on the kitchen side, he appeared to be testing the temperature of the food after a customer returned it. The waitress suggesting that it was cold. 😡😡

Frequently visit and as normal a great service. Food was prompt & tasty as usual, fresh ingredients and prepared. Slight confusion with order and app however minor inconvenience. I do have to mention the facilities which for such a location were very poorly maintained. Hand drier out of use, floor covered in urinal overspill and no hand towels/paper available. It was apparent this had been this way for some time which is a shame. Polite staff and good service as always, so a hiccup that I hope will be resolved soon!

We went to Zizzi’s on Saturday lunchtime, precooked a table for 7 people inc kids. Unfortunately our plans had changed but we were suitably accommodated, with a great attitude thanks to Thomas. Children were well catered for, with a great kids menu, adults were served with delicious cocktails and wine. We then asked if 2 more could join our party. We were promptly moved to a more accommodating table again with Thomas’s help. Monica over saw our every request and dealt with everything very efficiently, she was fantastic! Would would definitely like to come back to Zizzi and perhaps look at their other branches around the country, but of course they won’t have Thomas and the wonderful Monica. Thank you.

We ordered pizzas and they were delicious The service was excellent despite the dwct we were the last customers to be served. The price is decent. I definitely recommend.

The atmosphere was lively for a 9 pm visit. Food came out fast and service of the food was great. I gave mid-grade scores because The menu was VERY limited. There were very few items on the menu for anyone who has dietary restrictions. I am intolerant to milk and also can't have tomato based sauces due to acid reflux. I wish there had been a pasta on the menu with a garlic oil sauce or even that they simply made carbonara the traditional way instead of with milk. Garlic bread was literally the only item on the menu I could get. I just find it strange that in such a big city where so many tourists frequent that the options were so few and the staff seemed not to be able to let me know if there was milk in certain menu items. I understand that my allergies are not mainstream so don't hold the staff accountable for this in any way. Just if they could have come up with a quick fix such as making me a nice pasta with olive oil, herbs, a bit of lemon or any kind of offer to make something work would have been appreciated. Overall it was a great feel in the space but I cannot comment on the quality of the food other than the garlic bread which was good but dry. Had to ask for garlic butter to get it down. Just know that if you have any secondary dietary restrictions this is not the Italian restaurant for you. Everyone I was with however seemed to enjoy their food a lot so hope that helps. 😊

Great food, but small dishes when considering the price.

The food here is quite nice. However, we were presented with the bill just after finishing eating (wasn't asked for) and then someone appeared within minutes with a card machine. The restaurant was quite empty so didn't feel there was a need to be pushed out like that!

I've always liked this place, been many times. The food is reliably good. My daughter is vegan gluten free and she's catered and there's plenty of choice for veggies which I am. Nice layout with cubby holes if you want a bit more quiet. Staff are always excellent here. I'd recommend it.

I have never been to Zizzi, I always walked past it not sure why considering I love pasta... I digress.... came here after a boring work event which had minimal food leaving us haangry... I had a train to catch so we opted for something quick. Service was fine, it was a Wednesday night, there was space.. we are seated downstairs. I didn't see a lift so not sure what the position is re accessibility. Service was nice, everyone was cheerful. Food cake relatively quickly. I had a strawberry or maybe it was raspberry and lime drink... it was awful... tasted of nothing... it was still there when I left. I had a goats cheese ravioli... can't remember the actual name. As I am trying to cut down went for an under 600 cals option. It was quite nice to be fair. It looked small but I got quite full whilst eating.. not sure If it had anything to do with the 4 glasses of prosecco I had before hand.. but either way I didn't leave hungry. The restuarant itself is nicely decorated and quite a chilled vibe. Good for catching up with friends. Il go again. Sorry didn't take much pics.

Zizzi was mediocre to good. The Casareccia Della Casa was mediocre, good but pasta was quite bland overall. It was supposed to be creamy but felt a little washed down. Service was good, friendly however, they made it really obvious that they wanted us to leave by saying bye asap. The atmosphere was comfy, spacious and had beautiful decor. The dishes are quite pricey for small portions and mediocre food. Was wondering if all Zizzi were like this? Hope that other branches are better than today's. Portion was quite small.

We popped into ZiZi for dinner before going onto a theatre show. The restaurant was empty but our waitress gave us a warm welcome. We had a lovely garlic bread as a starter and pizza and pasta for mains along with a nice bottle of red wine. Our waitress (sorry we didn't get your name) was really attenuative and friendly.

They tried to make coffee, but they didn't succeed. I just wanted 3 short italian espressos and they gave me dirty water for 10£. At least the staff was super kind!

I order a Mushroom Risotto and the rice was not ready at all, it was not soft as a normal risotto. I paid £14,50 and I’m completely regret!! I hate this restaurant.
