Zizzi - Richmond in Richmond upon Thames

Very rarely post a negative review. The staff were friendly, but we had to ask for cutlery on numerous occasions, the portion sizes considering the prices were incredibly small, the flavours were underwhelming and all in all we left with a huge bill and were still hungry

Food was excellent but quite pricey. I especially enjoyed the cheese board, mainly to myself 😂 house red was good. A pardon pepper was so hot it nearly felled me but apart from that all was excellent.

Went there on Sunday afternoon with my friends. We ordered cheese and charcuteries boards. The meats were dry like exposed for a long time. Would also have rather had selections of cheese from Waitrose/M&S.

Ordered 7 dishes and 2 cappuccino. Most dishes were disappointing except the croquettes and octopus. Other food was either cold or plain. I’d say it is definitely overpriced. Service was pretty good though, and the atmosphere was nice.

1 year anniversary and it was an amazing time, brilliant food and nice cocktails! Our waitress Jada was amazing & she made our experience out of this world - thank you Jada!

favourite restaurant in Richmond, such beautiful food and a lovely setting by the river. I have been many times. Octopus served with bone marrow is INCREDIBLE (sadly ran out for our final visit here before moving countries, so I tried the broad bean dish with manchengo and truffle, also great)!

Fresh, tasty dishes with fast service in a cozy setting. The welcoming staff added to the experience, making it a go-to for any gathering.

Food is standard Brindisa fare, always solid. Although feels very expensive for what you're getting, Richmond branch prices may even be more than Soho!

Not worth it!!! We waited 40 minutes for the waiter to bring us some tap water and to take our food and drinks order. When he eventually took our order, he took a large table’s order immediately afterwards (they had arrived 20 mins after us). Our waiter then lost our order- which another waiter informed us about. We were there nearly an hour before the drinks and food arrived. Food is delicious but expensive for what you get. For example, The arriz negro had 5 small pieces of calamari on. I wouldn’t rush back!

Terrible. Came here last year, we waited over an hour and they then admitted they forgot to do our order, they took the order again and after another long wait said they didn't have what I asked for. I ended up running out to Leon to eat while my husband finished his pizza. Thought I'd give it another try tonight. Huge mistake. Waited ages for starters, they tasted OK but very stingy with sauces and ingredients. I ordered a "build your own' pizza. The base came burnt and rock hard. The toppings were so incredibly stingily added, and two were missing (but I was charged for them all). I couldn't eat half the pizza because it was so hard. The price for all this was preposterous for the amount of food we actually ate. The guy who seemed to be in charge said that the gluten-free base sometimes goes hard. Not in other restaurants it doesn't! I believe he should have given a discount on that pizza - especially since he'd forgotten some of the toppings. Pros: a couple of the young staff are really nice - friendly and caring. Will never go back.

Fantastic evening, great food and fantastic staff. Italian isn’t my first choice unlike the missus. The food was fresh, tasty and very good but it was the staff that made it a fantastic experience and would go back tomorrow because of how welcome the staff made us. Brilliant team. Our waiter was on his 1st day and will be an excellent asset to the company along with the others.

Delicious food and always lovely to be by the river. Great evening all round, made better by Jada’s smily and attentive service - always available if you needed her but no pressure to rush through the tasty dishes. We’ll be back - just need to remember her perfect wine recco

My goodness this is a fabulous place! Great options, waiter very helpful. Cavernous, so it can get loud. Outdoors would be nice on warm weather.

We were a party of 8 celebrating my birthday and we all had a fabulous time - the service was absolutely brilliant and ensured we all had a wonderful evening and the food was so lovely and very tasty! Also impressed how food allergies and intolerances were dealt with very competently and sensitively. Thank you!

When I visited I found Thea menu to be small but varied ! There were lots of other people dinning making it a nice atmosphere.

Starter, mains and drinks were absolutely delicious. Despite confusion over the order of the lentil linguine, Andre and his team were extremely apologetic and compassionate. His kindness completely made up for the situation and I'd definitely go back to this restaurant. Thank you again!

Came recently for a birthday meal and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We sat outside on a sunny evening with a lovely view of the riverside. The food was lovely, I particularly enjoyed the sardines and the croquetas, as was the sangria. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We hope to be back soon!

I have not been to the restaurant for over 2 years the last time was very good. However after our visit for lunch it now has the good and bad side The food itself was excellent, nicely presented and tasty Also fair value for money. However the service was utterly haphazard. Only one server who was polite but completely customer unaware. She spent a lot of time peaking to who i presume was on off duty staff and we actually had to leave our table on several times to get her attention> Pretty awful. It only had a couple of customers and had zilch atmosphere

4.3 Overall the experience at Brindisa is pretty good. The food is of a decent quality, although no dish was exceptional, but all were ok. We visited on a warm, sunny evening so the restaurant was busy and the service was a little slow. A corked bottle of wine was swiftly exchanged with no quibble. One of our party is a coeliac, and whilst the restaurant does have a good awareness of its allergens and has plenty of gluten free options ordering them is much more complicated than it needs to be. The information is presented as a large document with a list of all the menu items, including many not on the current menu, this list then has to be cross referenced to the actual menu which our guest found quite stressful.

Absolutely shocked by the appalling service I have just received. Maitre d' was totally disinterested & rude. 8 empty tables outside but apparently they were booked but remained empty for more than 20 mins. Offered a table inside, numerous empty by the window but again told that these were reserved. Decided to leave. Zero customer care.

I’ve been to this restaurant near London Bridge and Borough many times, but this visit was really disappointing. We arrived and stood at the entrance, waiting to be seated, as the sign instructed. But no one came to help us. The place wasn’t busy, and two staff members walked right past us without even a smile or a simple greeting. We even tried to get their attention, but they just passed us like we were invisible. When the first person passed by, we thought maybe she had something else to do, so we waited for the second one, assuming she’d help. But she walked right by us too. I’m not sure if they were supposed to be the hosts, but it would have been nice if they at least acknowledged us or let us know when someone would be available. It’s just basic courtesy. I really hope the manager or whoever’s in charge steps in and makes sure the staff understands the importance of good customer service. You might want to check your cameras from around 4:30 PM today to see what I’m talking about.

I came here for lunch with my brother. We shared the mozzarella and garlic bomb with hot honey to begin and it was really delicious and we both loved it. As a main, my brother chose the chicken milanese and I ordered the salmon and avocado salad - substituting the fish for prawns. Our mains were fine but I would say that the food is quite average in general. We both agreed we enjoyed the starter the most.

The Good: what food there was, was cooked very well and the flavors were on point and delicious. The Bad: The prices were insane for the amount of food you get. As someone very used to fine dining, I am used to quality over quantity, but when you order a 250g steak and you get maybe 40g of bone and grissled meat, it's quite disappointing. And then ordering a lamb cheese with 1/3rd of the portion as the rind, is utterly inexcusable. The staff was inattentive and hard to chase down, and if you are operating a fine dining experience, it isn't appropriate to stack dirty dishes and cutlery on the table in front of guests. Overall, I feel that Brindisa needs to pick a lane. They don't have the presentation to be upper tier, so they shouldn't charge as if they were. Sadly I could not recommend, despite the lovely and convenient location.

Some of the best food I've ever eaten, and that's some statement I know but I couldn't fault any of the dishes whatsoever.

Food was nice. Sat on terrace had to try get someone’s attention to order nobody was bothered lots of staff but nobody serving. Food came nobody smiled nobody checked how food was had to ask twice fr bill 13.5% service charge for basically no service in a fairly expensive restaurant serving “nice” food not sure would go back which is a shame as not been before and wanted to go for ages

My partner and I cycled by on Wednesday eve to enjoy a drink by the river. Alex accommodated us with a table outside even though we hadn't made a reservation and it was clear that they were busy. She was delightful. The beer was perfect and we had a dish of olives that were divine. We didn't eat but observed plates of fabulous food being delivered to other guests. While we were there we observed an angry customer giving Alex a hard time because he had been waiting some distance from the entrance and hadn't been attended to. His behaviour was totally unjustified, unfortunately a case of a wealthy elderly gentlemen with a sense of entitlement. When I mentioned it was partner's 70th birthday she sweetly offered him a cake with a candle and when he declined, brought us 2 small glasses of prosecco to celebrate his birthday. Alex made us feel very welcome. I am going back in a couple of weeks' time with some girlfriends to sample the cocktails and the gorgeous looking dishes they were serving!

Great choice near the river. Good Spanish tapas on a nice terrace in a very relax atmosphere. Monica the supervisor kindly accommodated my wife with her food restrictions and was great with us making us feel at home. Great service, great spot, very good food at a good price. Speedy service. What more to ask !?

We had an amazing dining experience here! They were super accommodating, arranging us to drink at the bar whilst they sorted a table outside. Our server was Jada was brilliant and lovely! She really added to the great experience. And finally food was 10/10! Really recommend the chicken thighs, prawns and chorizo! We had 8 plates between 4 of us and it was a really good portion!

Amazing food experience with real italian cuisine. Lovely Staff, and all together a 5 star experience without a doubt. The 4 kids in the age of 7 to 16 loved it. Definetly going back before leaving Richmond. Big thanks to Daniel Who took such good care of us.

Should be four stars, but every time we come here the taps are empty? The only draught available is the Alhambra Reserva. I have gone up to the bar to ask for one of the more interesting looking beers on three occasions now to be told, 'that is not on - we only have the one'. Please cover your taps to indictate that they are out of service or if you are concerned about appearance then place a note over the pumpclip for every beer that is not available. It becomes misleading when you are advertising something that is consistently unavailable.

The food is ok, nothing remarkable. The prices are very high compared to the portion size and quality of food. The location is great and I guess the prime riverfront location is priced in. But nevertheless, I left slightly hungry and much poorer.

Beautiful Riverside restaurant, but extremely poor customer service and terrible food. Unbelievably expensive too. We paid £100 for 5 small tapas plate and a jug of drink. We didn't mind it, if we had enjoyed the food. The waiters do not make you feel welcomed. Such a shame.

The service at Tapas Brindisa Richmond left us totally disappointed and disrespected. Whilst the younger waiting staff were delightful and helpful, the senior management fell short. The lady in charge hesitated to seat us where we preferred, despite an empty section. Our attempts at friendliness were met with indifference. Now, let's talk about the food. Visually, the dishes were appealing, but unfortunately, they didn't capture the true essence of Spanish flavors. It left us wanting more authenticity. Back to the service, the man in charge was rude and dismissive when we needed assistance or wanted to place an order. He even tossed our receipt onto the table without a word. We couldn't help but wonder how these individuals work in hospitality. Despite our politeness, we felt mistreated. It's worth noting that we observed a discrepancy in their treatment of different customers, which left us questioning their professionalism. In summary, if you're seeking excellent service or truly authentic Spanish cuisine, Tapas Brindisa might not be the best choice. However, for a drink and a view of Richmond Riverside, it's worth a visit.

Really nice food once you get familiar with the tapas menu and figure out what and how much to order. Some dishes are better value than others, but they're all good and seem (to me) to be authentically Spanish.

Love this place! Beautiful setting by river, incredibly tasty food and best of all, super smiley friendly staff (Daniel and the girl with the cool eyeliner were particularly lovely yesterday!).

Vegetarian and vegan options are limited. Portions are small for steep prices. Service was great however, the people are lovely, it's rather the food that let us down.

Upon arrival, my husband and I joined a short line behind another couple. Several staff members walked by without acknowledging us, despite there being numerous empty tables, both reserved and unreserved. I believe it was empty because it was only 5:30 PM on a Sunday. A blonde employee, who seemed to be in charge, approached the couple in front of us and seated them promptly. When she turned to us, she asked if we had a reservation. After learning we didn't, she flatly stated there were no available tables for the next 30 minutes. When I agreed to wait, she added, "I can't guarantee anything," in a dismissive tone. Suspecting something was amiss, I checked the restaurant's website and saw multiple available slots. We decided to have my husband try alone, and surprisingly, she offered him a table right away. When I joined him, she pointed to a high table and said, "But there's only this one," with a tone implying it was undesirable. I questioned her about other available tables, which were clearly not reserved. Despite this rocky start, the other staff members were friendly and attentive, especially to our dog. We ordered eight tapas, two drinks, and a dessert, staying for about an hour. Throughout our meal, many tables remained empty, contradicting the initial unavailability claim. I took photos upon arrival and departure to show the numerous empty tables. As someone experienced in customer service, I know how crucial first impressions are. The initial interaction with the blonde employee was disappointing and set a negative tone. Friendliness and a welcoming attitude are essential in customer service. While the rest of the staff provided excellent service, this experience underscores the need for consistent hospitality from all team members. I am sharing my experience because I don’t think this can be left aside; businesses can only improve if we share our experiences. It's unfortunate that one person's poor attitude overshadowed what could have been a delightful dining experience.

Really great little Zizzi ! We went for my boyfriend’s family meal. The service was fantastic, all the waiters were so kind, helpful and patient. The food we had was really good. Gluten-free and vegan options. Probably the best Zizzi I’ve been to. Lovely food and staff who care.

Attended the Andalucia Supper Club last night not really knowing what to expect and was more than pleasantly surprised.... Juan our Andalucian food and wine expert, talked us through the wines and cuisine of this beautiful part of Spain. I am not sure why Brindisa stands out from the numerous chains of restaurants in London, but they do. The food, well I have never been disappointed on the contrary the food has always been exceptional. I have taken many friends, over the years to Brindisa and they simply get it right. Their staff are welcoming, warm and basically it is like returning home. Juan was a super host, mingling with the guests giving more insights into the cuisine, the wine, topping all of us up with the varying wines we tried. I loved the mixture of people, we spent time talking, laughing and exchanging phone numbers. I would greatly recommend not only Brindisa but if your looking for something slightly different for a night out then go to one of the supper clubs, I definitely will be going to more.. So thank you Brindisa for an amazing, unforgettable night. Thank you for always getting it right and Juan this one is for you, you rocked!! Keep it up. I visited this place for the second time, trying to have a good time and feel like home but unfortunately, I found the front of house to be rude and unprofessional. The way she speaks to clients is unpleasant, coming across as arrogant and disrespectful. I really feel this needs to be looked out as looking after client should be primordial, and rude staff will make them not want to come back.

Very disappointing visit - average food, aloof inattentive service and a surly, disinterested lady as the front of house. We used to love Brandisa chain and its restaurants across London. The Richmond restaurant was a welcome addition and we visited a few times in the past. Will be avoiding in the future.

Had dinner here on a Thursday night, was a lively atmosphere. They were busy but service and food were excellent. We had 6/7 plates and no mains. Not cheap but as whole I think worth it.

Lovely place, food and location! Only thing is was my friends 21st and I asked if they could bring a candle or something for dessert and charged us for this! Bit cheeky as could have done just ice cream and a candle!

The new Wagu pizza is Meh..... very little flavour and I got a cold ball of mozzarella 2 in 2 halves, not burrata like on the menu. It's just tasteless and not worth the money.

Didn't enjoy our meal despite the great location. Food was slow, one dish didn't arrive at all,even though they were reminded twice. It arrived as we were leaving, but at least they didn't charge us for it. In my opinion overpriced and underwhelming. We won't be going back.

I have spent £700+ in Brindisa this year. When I had lunch today and discovered a now mini portion of Juevos Rotos with just one egg I was stunned. This is absolute profiteering. We recognise the rather excessive service charge but accept that because service is good. If the eggs in one dish diminish by 50% what is happening to the remaining dishes. I may not bother to visit to find out.

Unfortunately zizzi's Richmond has drastically gone down hill. This used to be my go to place for a quick meal with the family. I ordered spaghetti carbonara & a pizza for my son and waited almost an hour, when our meal eventually arrived the pasta was cold and for what ever reason the spaghetti was cut in half literally! The real issue for me is that Zizzi seems to prioritise Uber eats / deliveroo orders over paying customers. Our whole dinning experience was awful especially when you have the delivery guys hanging around (on this occasion there was 5 Uber eats/deliveroo's waiting for orders with their helmets on talking and laughing!!! If senior management ever reads these reviews, you really need to sort this aspect of your business out because quite frankly it's totally unacceptable. Sadly I will not eating here ever again

The food is delicious. The team is attentive and friendly. We will be back soon to try some of the dishes we did not have this time.

Food prices are ridiculous for the portions of tapas that you receive! £8+ for 2 x approx maybe 10cm pieces of bread 🥖 Patatas Bravas were approx 8 potatoes 1/8ths! So 1 potato cut up @ £8+

Excellent location, but if you know and love honest tapas, beware.... > Missing tapas staples albóndigas (meat balls), calamares (squid), berenjenas (aubergine). > Tortilla and Empanada de atún (special) were unexpectedly served cold. > Meagre portions - needed a cheese sandwich when we got home. > Expensive wine list. > Poorly trained / managed staff: food before wine; wrong food order; wrong wine order. > Good apology skills from new manager Rebecca, who gave us a reasonable discount. Let's hope she turns around this opportunity to delight.

I've been to a few Brindisa's before BUT have to say this one really stands out - the friendliness, knowledge and professionalism of the staff was at least 11/10. I came for the Calçotada festival (been trying to book for years) and it was above expectations. Huge amounts of fun (and wine) (and calçots). An exceptional dinner, thank you Brindisa Richmond

Overall: ★★★★☆ A small chain of Spanish tapas restaurants. This branch in Richmond is set slightly back from Thames with some great views. A lovely clean entrance and warm friendly reception. A nice, less expensive dining experience than its neighbour Scott’s and probably one of the nicer places to eat in Richmond. Food: Spanish tapas What I liked: • The Halibut - one of the best I’ve had • Sally Clarke’s bread! • The dessert flan was great • Good service • Nice, clean and inviting atmosphere • Open kitchen What I didn’t like: • Would like to have had more fish and vegetarian options • Not sure about the shared ‘facilities’ but I accept this is subjective • More wines by the glass world be nice. i went with a friend after visiting Richmond Theatre on 7th February 2024.We both had seabass and vegetables. it was presented full of oil. There was very little flavour but we just could not eat it owing to the the texture and oil content. At £17 plus this is a disgrace. I make the dish at home very easily. with the ingredients its quick and lovely. you don't have to be a chef so I do not know what your chef was doing to have made such a poor meal...there were only 5 people in the restaurant. I have had similar experiences in the past. I had one good experience 8 years ago and always thought I was on " a bad day "after this but know now that the food quality is very poor. you need to get your " act together". i cant imaging why anyone would want to go to Zizzi Richmond.

The food was alright, but the service was so poor and the manager was rude that I couldn't leave a higher review. As some people had allergies the manager was supposed to take the order. The manager behaved really strangely when taking the order .We felt quite uncomfortable at that point.Not going back again.

I thought everything about my visit was first class. The food was wonderful, freshly cooked and delicious. My companion was a little difficult, but the staff were charming and considerate. The setting is delightful too, very close to the river.

I'm proud to call myself a habitué at Richmond Brindisa. The delicious and authentic Spanish cuisine, aligned with the formidable service rendered by Alessandra, Juan, and the service team, always makes eating at Brindisa a marvellous experience.

Beautiful tapas restaurant by the Thames in quaint neighbourhood in Richmond. There were good selections of various tapas which were tasty & flavourful. My favourite was the gambas al ajillo, the beef and the rack of lamb. The drink menu was also extensive. Everything was excellent from food, ambience to service quality. We were a group of more than 10 people & the only downside was the lack of comfortable space as we were cramped into a L-shaped table at a corner.

Service was great. Food was pretty good. We did explain that my husband was gluten free and they seemed to be very attentive. However, he started not feeling well afterwards. I think it may have been the pork belly dish. The server had forgotten to put that order in and then a new server took over and I think they forgot to make it GF. We should have verified when it was brought out. I think we just assumed since they were on top of everything else. So we accept part of the responsibility on that. Otherwise, we had a nice experience.

I have eaten here twice! Loved the food and the service! Brilliant location and place to eat!
