I generally tend to steer clear of these kind of chain restaurants but was out voted and ended up visiting with family. What I experienced was absolutely spot on to what I was expecting. The staff were pleasant enough but I could tell that the site has weak management as many of these places do. All the usual elements of the service cycle were missing. We were sat for a good 10 mins before anyone offered us a drink. The food came quickly enough but there was a dish missing which my partner had to wait for whilst everyone else started eating. There was no check back on any of our 3 courses. The cutlery was used and cleared after the starters, not re laid; subsequently our food arrived and we had no cutlery to eat it with. This took a few mins to be resolved. The deserts also arrived before the cutlery. I asked for another pot of garlic sauce, that never came. No one offered us drinks at all beyond the first round we ordered. Had they of done so then id of likely said yes and spent more money. We handed a birthday cake to the waitress on arrival and asked for it to be bought out at the end, we forgot and the waitress forgot. She did our payments, said her goodbyes and then bought the cake out still in its box. This was as much our fault as it was hers but there was certainly an opportunity there for her to be more attentive and go the extra mile. That situation would’ve played out differently in other places where the staff are dialled in and the shift is being managed properly. The food wasn’t bad at all and the restaurant was immaculate throughout and is clearly well looked after. Over all disappointing, just such basic stuff from the customer journey missing. I’ve seen it time and time again and this was not the worst experience I’ve ever had but I certainly wouldn’t go back. You’re in a saturated market and service/detail is everything.

Just loved the atmosphere, service was excellent and the lasagne + garlic bread was absolutely delicious.

Food had been dropped on the floor by the driver and scrapped off the pathway/road and brought to our door.Driver did admit to dropping it but how disgusting to then give it to us and not say it had gone all over the pathway and had dirt etc in it

Excellent service. The waitress who served us was Mariza who was extremely friendly and help us to chose the best option as well. I recommend this place for family outing etc..

A quiet Sunday lunch for two, so atmosphere score a bit down, but service was excellent. The food was fine, but the belly pork was a bit dry.

It was really hot inside, no air con. The food was ok, nothing special. The waiter seemed like he couldn't be bothered to be there.

Took ages to arrive and wasn’t very hot but it did taste nice. Second time this has been the case puts me off ordering takeaway from there again.

The set menu has some good deals. There is a good selection of of various Italian foods beyond pizza and pasta. The staff are attentive.

Went for a birthday meal. Amongst us we ordered tap water, a Peroni, the vegan meatless meatballs, Bruschetta, mushroom risotto, lentil ragu, truffle mushroom and salami pizza, chocolate brownie sundae, a selection of gelato and an English breakfast tea. I would recommend highly. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly, funny and welcoming. Can get 30% off student discount. Will be going back pronto!!!

A lovely restaurant with friendly staff. A big thank you to Megan, who served me. As I was dining alone, she was very friendly, attentive, took my order and served me very quickly and checked to make sure everything was good. Although it was busy, I didn't feel alone. 😇

I’ ll be honest i wasnt expecting much due to the restaurant being a chain but i have to say we will def be returning !! We were welcomed into the restaurant , staff were really friendly and efficient . The food we chose was delivered quickly, very hot and extremely tasty ! Nothing was too much trouble the staff are def there to please . Do give it a try

Food is alright. There is a chubby guy working there, who's super rude. He should know there might be people around him that understands Italian and can't randomly insult people!

Absolutely fantastic service and tasty food. Lucas and Bart were very accommodating and made our party of 22 very welcome. Would highly recommend.

Good service and a nice varied menu. Food was good but not fantastic, typical chain food really. Tables were very small and close together meaning that it was a bit awkward with plates and glasses or if someone was sat right behind or next to you.

I have never been disappointed with the food, its always spot on. Had a great meal here. Quick friendly service and amazing yummy food. Tiny bit pricey but isn't everything at the moment?! Definitely be back. Just had another successful meal here, Rochelle was our waitress and she was awesome. So friendly, professional and was next level working her bum off, such a super star.

We went to Zizi's without knowing the area very well.We started by looking at the atmosphere ,which was beautiful,the toilets were very clean as well.The food was delicious with many unique flavours. Our server ,Izzy ,was so kind and smiling always.She also gave us advice and information about Colchester. She also related very well with other customers in the restraunt and was very friendly to kids and adults.On the whole ,I would really recommend coming here.

Lolo was a great hostess, very friendly and made sure we were sat quick and served after a long day on the road. The food was high quality and left feeling very full from what is a good selection of Italian food. Shame we didn’t have room for dessert maybe next time !

Great pizza for a 21st birthday celebration, but what made the difference was the fantastic customer service after we were accidentally billed twice. Lucas worked very hard to make sure we were refunded as soon as we made him aware. Bravo! Top customer focus.

Me and my partner come to this Zizzis often. It has a lovely decor, delicious food and great staff - Lolo is very welcoming and attentive.

My friends and I had a lovely night, the atmosphere was very warm and friendly and the hostess Lolo was a delight she made our experience, recommending bushes such as the goat cheese ravioli’s eh I my friend loved.

Horrible, the food was burnt and the lasagna was terrible. Plus, my potatoes didn't come! Money thrown in the trash.

Stopped here for dinner, cannot fault the food. Split olives and garlic bread to start and then had the King Prawn Linguine and Spaghetti Pomodoro which were both top notch. Service was lacking - they are running deliveries for Zizzi and Coco Di Mama out of the establishment and seem to be prioritising getting these delivery orders out rather than serving the patrons dining in. Waited 25 minutes between starter before having to ask where our mains were, at which point the kitchen began preparing them. Table next to us also had order problems as one person was served their meal with the other waiting 10 minutes. A shame as the food was impeccable but if they cannot keep up with orders of their dine in customers might be best to stop taking delivery orders until you have caught up.

Food is special and great for people with allergies. The service is great. The space is small and tables are almost attached to each other which was not comfortable

Hadn’t been for a while,so almost like going to a new restaurant,but no need to be apprehensive,food and service were outstanding,the staff very attentive ,but in fairness we only needed to tell the staff how much we enjoyed our food and evening and decide how soon we could return,a great experience all round,special thanks to Bart 👍

Veryyyy rude stuff and the manager as well in Colchester. Also veryyyy expensive compared to quality. I would never ever recommend it.

Food : very small portions and even more expensive. Moreover, the food was served cold and tasteless. Service: It is the worst service I have ever seen in my life. Not only the staff but also when we ask the manager if the staff’s attitude was acceptable, her respond was even more impolite and unprofessional.

I come in for lunch with my parents after going shopping, our server megan was very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be going back again!

Lovely pizza absolutely 10/10 however I didn’t get the pizza I ordered I ordered a vegan meatball and got a vegetarian. Still good though

The pasta was overcooked and too spicy. Please, indicate on the menu that certain pasta is just spicy, so people won't waste their money just like I did.

Had a meal at Zizzi’s in Colchester tonight. My friend and I had a very unpleasant experience. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal, the lady that was taking the order checked our ID’s, this action was reasonable, however as our ID’s showed I am 18 ( the person buying the bottle of wine) and my friend is 17. We then had the general manager ( as stated by said person) bring over the bottle with two glass’s but then proceeded to request for our ID’s again and refused to serve my friend even though I was the adult buying the wine. For reference the law and government website states I can buy certain alcohol with a meal for anyone 17 and over. The manager then proceeded to refuse my friend the beverage and walked away with the extra glass without asking my friend if they would like a drink. My friend then to had call the said waiter back to our table to order a drink where he processed to touch her around the waist and said “ yes darling what would you like”. She orders a coke and he walks away and it takes about 10 minutes for them to bring her drink over. We have now have two issues, however one has now taken precedence- why did a male general manager who has become fully aware of the age of my friend due to showing her ID as requested, feel it was resonable to put his hands on my friend? This form of harassment should not be accepted and we will be making a formal complaint. As for the original incident, this was badly explained and incorrectly dealt with by the self proclaimed general manager. A form of correspondence would be expected at the first stance

Pathetic food , very oily pasta. Garlic bread fine

I ordered a spicy chicken pasta, garlic bread and some drinks. The drinks tasted very artificial like just added some flavour and alcohol sold at a club. The pasta lacked flavour and the only flavour it had was oil. Expensive for no reason. Garlic bread was reasonable.

Decent mid-week visit, food good quality for chain restaurant, definitely needs a voucher as many of the dishes overpriced in my opinion. Restaurant does get cold in the winter with doors close to downstairs tables being opened on a regular basis. The Black Forest Cocktail that my partner ordered was rather lacking in alcohol. We really enjoyed the Chicken Calabrese & Salmon & Avocado Salad were very nice.

Pizza arrived in good time but the quality of the pizzas were not great, they weren't particularly hot and considering when they were picked up and delivered it was no due to the delivery. The pizzas looked very sad and empty, very few tomatoes didn't see the pine nuts.

We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing. We had the King Prawn Spiedini and couldnt believe it when they brought it out to us...amazing!! We also had the Pizza Pinoli....it was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely. We will return. Thank you so much.

I enjoyed the lasagna, but I wouldn’t recommend the bruschetta - tasteless tomatoes, bread soaked in balsamic vinegar and two tiny pieces of red onion.

Great foods and drinks, lovely food smells 😀👍 atmosphere was ok, nothing special but ok. Plenty of seating and you didn't feel elbow to elbow with your fellow diners. Would go back
