Good service, friendly atmosphere. I didn't have pizza hut since i was a child the food quality is same or maybe worse

Went here the other week with my girlfriend one 14 inch pizza one 2 drinks and two desserts 67 pounds totaly crazy prices evern the pizza wasn't nice never going again

Always a good experience visiting Pizza Hut. Very good selection of dishes and the vegetarian selection is very good.

Rude staff food was not good plus it was Daughter birthday not happy

Seriously over priced for the size of the portions these days. And absolute robbery for the re fill drinks. I realise prices have gone up, pizza hut used to be a cheeky treat but now it's a special occasion.

Polite and friendly staff, not over bearing and bothering you when you’re eating. Food was lovely, couldn’t fault it, we all enjoyed our food, loved the salad bar and unlimited soft drinks

Took my kids yesterday and we loved it! Food was perfect, staff helpful, I didn’t feel out of place with a health condition. Very very welcoming staff and the food was piping hot! Honestly couldn’t ask for more when eating out. Massive well done to all the staff here (Table 14 who struggled with the app lol)

Although we’d booked a table we arrived over an hour early. This wasn’t a problem and we were welcomed by friendly attentive staff. We were a larger group and ordered separately but the food arrived quickly and we were all able to eat together.

Everything worked very well, a little slow on getting pizzas out for the buffet but overall not bad at all, no major complaint at all, staff really helpful for the our first experience, Amy very helpful

I tried all the experiences. I have dined in at Turner's where they have the salad bar. I ordered take away and delivery from the hythe restaurant. Staff are lovely and the pizza is really good. I love their tomato sauce and me and my kid are crazy about the pizza crust. Will eat here again as always at least once per week as we love the pizza. The deals are pretry good each time by the way

Disappointed with the drinks selection all drinks have sweetner in not good if you suffer from migraines.

Ordered 2 Pizzas (part of a deal) on just eat and only one arrives... pretty terrible service to mess that up like that. The one that wasn't even bothered to be made was my sons so quite annoyed only option after waiting all that time is to order again. Ridiculous that it was even checked before it left.

Very welcoming and helpful especially with ordering on the machine food excellent as usual plenty of fresh salad.

Great gf pizza. Bottomless drinks (7up free with vanilla - amazing). The speed we got our mains. The staff making sure we had what we needed. All marvellous.

Top quality food and everything you'd expect from a Pizza Hut. Great vegan options as always including a great vegan dessert which I always love. Plenty of parking and relatively easy to find too.

Pretty quiet when we got there at almost 3pm on a Saturday. Staff were really friendly and the restaurant was clean. Quite costly, but man I forgot how good a freshly made pizza tastes. I'll go back again, but may have to sell one of the kids to pay the bill ££

Everything was available and easy to order via the QR code, the staff were attentive, selection of drinks was good on the refill, always enjoy the salad bar.

Decided to try Pizza Hut after many years. We were welcomed by a member of staff before being seated. We were then told that we had to scan a QR code on the table to order our food and pay. Although it may suit a lot of people to use technology in this way, I believe there should be a choice. Having no waiter to discuss menu options, etc, just so Pizza Hut can reduce the number of staff is wrong in my view. I also found the price expensive £20 each for a squash, salad, and small pizza.

I was surprised to see that a large pizza is so small nowadays. But food was delicious.

So we had a lovely meal here! Was welcomed when arrived, after a few minutes wait which is no issue to me! Was seated and explained that Pizza Hut only do self service now? That's strange, I mean they have the people there so why not offer both options? Again this is no issue to me personally other than when I had decided to leave a tip or not that they ask for before your meal while you are serving yourself.. I'm just thinking more about the people who that'll cause a serious inconvenience like disabled customer for example. Maybe they have a system for that scenario I don't know I'll be honest so maybe they do offer service in that situation? Food was piping hot and super quick! Was not outstanding though so 4* same with the little service we received and the atmosphere both good but not outstanding. But it's a pizza hut! If you want quick pizza that's red hot and you're happy to serve yourself then this is the place to come! FYI when I say serve yourself I mean ordering you do have the main part of your meal brought to your table!

We were seated straight away, easy to order, drinks arrived immediately, food was fast to arrive and delicious. We were kept informed by staff and they helped straight away when we needed it. They were knowledgable on the menu and allergies. All great.

Wasn't convinced about the QR code table ordering but when you're food is in front of you in under 10 minutes from ordering... Even with the self ordering there is still the human interaction with the staff.

I ordered a veg supreme pizza. I am a Hindu. I am a pure vegetarian. But they gave me a pizza that I found beef meat in my pizza. So be careful

Visited today and opted for the lunchtime buffet with the addition of unlimited ice cream and refillable drinks. Very quick to bring us our glasses for drinks, really nice friendly staff. Food was delicious and the pizzas were coming out really regularly and were nice and hot and a good selection of different toppings. Pasta was good - I only tried the cheesy one but it was delicious and the salad bar was great, best I have had in ages and no chemically flavour which can be a problem sometimes with salad bar food. Ice-cream was very nice too and a nice way to finish our meals (although my husband went for a final plate of pasta and salad!) Would really recommend especially if you have teenagers with never full stomachs!

How to order was explained very well as we were asked if we had used the new system before and we hadn't. Glasses came out immediately and we enjoyed a good salad while waiting for our mains and sides to be cooked. Staff was very attentive and not overbearing. Restaurant and tables were good and clean. The salad was very good quality, a lot better than I remember it used to be.

Back to Puzza Hut after a while. Quite long waiting time to get in. Not busy at all. Lady behind counter very polite. The food was slightly disappointing to be honest. Very very greasy pizza for some strange reason All other sides okay. Drinks also okay. Other strange things is lack of staff in restaurant. I do understand everyone trying save money but... food ordered via screen in restaurant which was easy. Overall okay. I would say big difference what we seen few years back. Shame really.

On arrival we were sat and told to place our order ourselves either by phone or tablet. Food came promptly but once mains was eaten we were forgotten. I had ordered a desert but Koby cleared out plates, no desert came and I deliberately thought I will wait and see how long it takes them. 30mins of watching the staff just lean and chat while customers waited for service. The table besides us finally got served wanting to pay. Overall food was ok but very expensive and when you couple that with the terrible service I will not be returning! Not only is some kind of management required but the whole business mode needs thinking about. You charge a premium if the food is great matched by great service. Neither are the case here!

Davina, Mark and Antony were all very friendly and dealt with the fact they did not have the vegan pepperoni in stock wonderfully. An asset to your restaurant. We'd definitely return. Also, very pleased with the choice of vegan options. Have always loved pizza hut pizza and the salad bowl. The biscoff cheesecake was great! And loved how the allergies are labelled too! Really useful!

Just annoyed it cost me £105 for 3 large pizzas 2x sided 2x ice cream and 2 cokes!! Wowww

Expensive for what you get and pizza is bang average. Kids love it thou especially ice cream machine.

The online ordering system is slow and tiresome. Get the staff to take the others! 5 of us but ordering was so slow I could have walked out. Also we were put into a round seating area that left us sitting with the table digging on to us. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back Quicker to order at home or go elsewhere.

As it was a Monday evening at 19.00 the place was dead. We had a table for 8 to celebrate a 16 birthday. Ordering is all done online, along with payments. Food arrived promptly and they checked on us regularly

Always clean and the staff are very friendly, and I love the vegetarian / vegan pepperoni pizzas but they keep taking them off the menu :( Please keep some vegan pepperoni on the menu 🙏

The buffet deals here are worth eating. You can get unlimited salads, soft drinks and pizza.

Restaurant were told it was my son's birthday when we booked the table but they did not seem to care even when they saw the big balloon when we arrived. They made no fuss to acknowledge this was a special occasion for us, they did not even say "happy birthday" to my son. When we asked to move table they were really reluctant instead of trying to accommodate us saying the tables were reserved ... Guess what.... We were there for approximately two hours, only two other tables were occupied for our entire stay, see we could have really sat anywhere we wanted as the place was practically empty! Such a shame as my son had asked to go as part of his birthday treat. Never again.

No cash option available here. You can only order through a terminal or on your phone by scanning a qr code on the table. Bit daunting at first but friendly staff were helpful explaining how to order. Food was great and would come again now that we've got used to the new way to order.

We went to Pizza Hut at Turner Rise Colchester for a late Sunday lunch, really enjoyed it. Initially disappointed not to be able to use My Meerkat rewards discount, but Mark who greeted us was very helpful and we were still in time for the lunch buffet set price meal which was excellent, so much choice! The staff were all polite and attentive. Will return again soon.

The new' self service was not what was acceptable. The waiter was too forward and kept wanting to chat while we was trying to eat Overall a poor experience!

Got a takeaway pizza that gave me temporary depression. Considering the price I am honestly shocked. Quality isn't far off what you get from a kebab shop (which would be much cheaper). Tiny when compared to the similarly priced competition. What the hell is pizza hut even doing these days?

Always a good experience. The salad along with the pizza makes for a healthy nutritious meal. Good service.

Good atmosphere and easy to order at table..

£80 for 4 people to eat at the buffet counter. Made sure we had our fill, and we filled a pizza box before we left.

Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff has to be top of the list, followed closely by the delicious food. Pan pizza was fantastic, and gluten free GOAT was highly recommended!

Went in Pizza Hut Colchester Turner Rise for lunch. We did not did not like their electronic system of ordering on your phone. Then we saw my fries and chicken bites bites sitting on the counter for a while before they brought them over to us. Generally the place was so cold that my lunch was cold before I could eat it.

If you like pizza, then you'll probably like it. Otherwise it's just an average meal, expensive for a pizza unless you get a deal.

We have 2 birthdays to organise in December and it’s been second time that we choose Pizza Hut Colchester to do it at. Staff is friendly and attentive , always happy to help. People who we’ve been served by seem to enjoy what they do and I know hospitality is not the easiest job. Keep up the good work guys!

Cold saggy pizza I received seems like they cooked too early than pick up time, chicken was salty.

I certainly don't expect to go out for a meal with my family and have to sit on my phone to order all our food. During COVID fair enough but we're not in COVID anymore! It won't be long before this chain goes under if they don't bring back a good customer service. Such a shame because I have fond memories of how it used to be.

Order on app. Impersonal service. Very slow delivery with meals arriving at different times. Had to get up to find staff to prompt for next course. Will never go again.

The first time I have been to this Pizza hut location and got food poisoning.

The team were great. I made a point of letting the manager know that the salad bar was the cleanest I had ever seen in any pizza hut ever. It was. Food was great. Not busy so hard to assess atmosphere.

Visit quite frequently and never had a bad meal. Staff always friendly and service quick.

Despite being a buffet the team was really head and shoulders above most other places, nowadays you just get grunted at or ignored so it was nice to be looked after and seen.

I arrived with 2 very hungry children as soon as the restaurant opened at 11.30am and I was thrilled to find everything ready and waiting. Perfect.

Very disappointed with the ordering process, bar code not working, alternative Very slow. Food only luke warm, pizzas difficult to cut. Place only quarter full.used to use this place a lot,but I'm afraid to say today was the last time. Really gone downhill since ceasing table service. The money saved on service is lost by lack of footfall ,not at all value for extortionate cost.

Person who welcomed us explained everything and offered to help if we needed it. Service was very quick.

Pepperoni Feast was the title of my pizza. Pizza Hut should rename it to 'We can't spare the cheese & pepperoni cos the cows & pigs have been on strike!' I think somebody spread the topping on with a knife! Absolutely appalling! Feast!? More like famine! And, for the apallingly over inflated price of £15.99! Wow!!! No stringy margarita cheese, no juicy, tasty passata & only 18 slices of wafer thin pepperoni that you could read a newspaper through! Had I checked what was inside the box b4 I left, I would've demanded my money back! I was absolutely appalled by the standard of food I received from Pizza Hut! Don't believe me, take a look at the photo! Zoom in to see how thin everything about this pizza really was! I've seen thicker spreads of butter on toast than the topping on this pizza!...

Came for a dinner with two friends had a 2 for 1 and it was nice, hot, and affordable

Absolutely amazing customer service I even had the luxury of having a drink offered whilst waiting for my takeaway. Ooo also every time I’ve come to the restaurant I’ve left happier as the food and customer service was and always is impeccable 👍🏾 I’d recommend this Pizza Hut to everyone! Great job guys 😎🤩

I'm sorry I have to write this review as I'm not that kind of guy. However after giving. Chloe H, Anne C and Senga W the change to resolve my complaint at Pizza Hut customer "service" and them falling sort of resolving that matter. I now wish to share me complaint publicly. I visit with my wife the Colchester pizza hut for the buffet lunch. We arrived and quickly seated, handed a menu and asked if we knew how to order via the app. Nothing else was said and the staff member walked away. We ordered x2 bottomless drinks x2 lunch buffet meal. A staff member brought over the glasses for our drinks. I got up and went to get a drink only to find 50% of the drinks on the drinks machine were sold out. Including the drinks me and my partner wanted. Not wanting to cause a fuss I settled for an alternative drink. The I went to the buffet stand were there was one full sized cheese and tomato pizza and on individual (4 sliced) pizza, plus some garlic bread. I decided to again tolerate this as it was early in the buffet time. But this didn't change. Every visit to the pizza stand was the same. One full sized cheese and tomato, them one individual pizza this was supposed to feed at the time around 10 tables of customers. I question the cook and the response was "I can only bring out what's cooked" needless to.say we left and won't return. I felt we should have been notified whilst being seated if there was availability issue. Before I was allowed to spend money on products advertised that weren't available. So having already paid I contacted customer service and explained all of this and kindly as for a refund. I keep getting a stand response of a £10 voucher offer. This is worthless to me as I won't be returning. And the reason for the full refund being denied is because I'm told there was "availability issues, not quality issues" So pizza hut are happy to sell you stuff that doesn't exist and refuse a refund (fraud basically) but if you pizza is cold you can have your money back. Don't visit the chain, let alone this individual site.

Had the buffet with ice cream factory option. It's reasonable value but I think moving away from table service has lost something, had to go and ask for glasses and then spoons.

Really enjoyed our meal on Thursday 14th September at the Turner Rise Pizza Hut. We were greeted by Mark who showed us to our table and was so polite and helpful. Assisted us to place our order and card payment on the screen, (would have taken us much longer without his help!). Our pizza’s were hot and delicious and salad bar had lots of choice. We will be back again soon.

The team is amazing especially Ryan and the store manageress. We had a great time and really enjoyed our dinner. They both made sure every customer in the restaurant was looked after, food was served on time and was nice and hot. Thank you guys for looking after us.

All digital makes the experience more like ordering shopping online from a supermarket than having a relaxing meal. I assume we'll have to bring our own ingredients and cook the food in the near future.

I went here with my partner on a Monday for the unlimited pizza buffet, pasta, salad, drink and ice cream for £15 p/p. Prices vary depending on day and how many options on food you’d like. Welcomed with a smile and advised how ordering works (all done by QR on table) Once ordered, your server will bring you your glasses and ice cream bowls (if that’s part of your order) and you can go and help yourself. There is only one fountain for soda fizzy drinks which can be slightly challenging at peak times with a queue. When we came it was a very busy day and the pizzas wernt being brought out quick enough onto the hot plate so there was a queue of people for over 10 minutes at one point with no pizzas on offer. Because of this, people had to take more pizza than they’d probably usually do as it was gone within seconds. Myself, I had to take 1/2 a pizza just for myself and partner as we are also vegetarian so we’re limited on options and didn’t want meat eaters to eat the cheese only. So there’s a slight annoyance but I can appreciate the chef was probably working like crazy in the back trying to get pizzas out ASAP. Once the peak time slowed, it was very enjoyable. Would recommend and would come back. Restaurant designed nicely also.

They don’t know what’s 9 inch or 11 inch, they sell 11 with 9 inch price and try to trick you, don’t go there

Place has fanastic vibes and good staff but food was poor quality for the price paid... They are kid friendly and everything but food quality let me down... I regret my £60 except the ice cream factory which kids enjoyed.

Havn't been to a Pizza hut in years and its changed so much as technology has moved forward. Booking a buffet slot was easy on the website Staff friendly and polite and extra helpful Food was amazing and the same taste as they have since i was a kid. We loved every moment of it!

Service non existent as you order your own food on the app. Very expensive for the poor quality of the food (pizzas and starters). Wouldn't recommend and not coming back for sure

Haven’t been to a Pizza Hut in years. We went today with our children (5yrs & 1yr) the pizzas were amazing only down side was the drinking water machine needed cleaning or replaced the water tasted horrible and limescale. We didn’t like the order your self for our meals.. too many staff and with little to do so unsure why they couldn’t come and take our order. At the end one lady came over to clean our table asking for a good review asking to mention her name as she was in a competition with another worker to win a cookie dough… what did she do apart from put pizzas on table then clean up?

We went for the unlimited buffet. It's unchanged after 20 years really- 2 pastas, a range of regular pizzas, garlic bread. We had bottomless drinks and ice cream too. You order using the QR code and serve yourself, which is fine. Toilets were clean. Restaurant was clean. Nothing ran short at any time. Good fresh looking salad, good value and step son was very pleased. Will return.

Food was amazing can’t fault it. We did the big five o deal where you get 2 pizzas, 2 sides, 2 desserts and unlimited salad for 4 people. Was definitely enough food for us 4. With drinks worked out to be £15 a person so really can’t grumble at that. Only thing is, I said we had a blue light card and can we use it on this deal and the young girl said yes. Turned out you can’t do that was a little misleading. Also we received the 2 sides 5 minutes before the 2 pizzas, would have been nice if they came out all together. No ice in the machine either and water was warm. No option for getting ice from the kitchen and putting into a glass for us.

Always find PHs pizzas the best of the bunch. This resturant has gone to cashless and order via an app. Gone are the days of having a server. Pizzas came out quickly and once again they are the best of the rest.

It was nice and quiet on a Tuesday evening at 8pm. The pizza's were so delicious and have improved greatly since our last visits. The secondary flavours of the bottomless drinks actually worked and were strong. Will be visiting more than every few years, you've got a customer back.

This Pizza Hut branch now insists you have to use the app to order. I was quite upset and confused why we couldn't just order with staff - apparently they are taking part in a national trial. The app isn't great, and I had issues with it taking ages to place an order. It's not really a restaurant anymore yet still cost £55 for two pizzas and two unlimited drinks! It's also odd the app asks for a tip (why would you tip when you've not eaten or really spoken to anyone?) - so I'm sure that's impacted tips staff receive too. Unfortunately because of this, the whole service and experience has gone downhill - once food came over, no one asked if our food was OK and they took a while to clear my plate away (I guess they only know you've finished when you order a dessert on the app). After clearing away my plate, the manager came to ask if we wanted any dessert. We ordered on the app straight after but the manager had decided to clean the ice cream machine in the couple of minutes between, so we couldn't have any! (it was 9.30, so still half an hour until close.) A bit odd really - why not warn us it would be off soon if that was the case? We were offered a bowl of scooped Ice cream but it's not really worth it for £5 each! Anyway, thanks to the app I now have to wait 24hrs+ for my refund, whereas if it had been a proper restaurant I wouldn't have been charged in the first place... Pizza Hut used to be my favourite restaurant. But I was left feeling so let down after this visit. I really hope this trial isn't rolled out elsewhere. It makes for such a soulless and unwelcoming experience. This may be the last time I ever visit a Pizza Hut 😢

Would be much better if you coukd actually use the staff to order food and had more interaction with them instead of doing everything through an app and watching staff stand around messing around when you need something.

The service was great, the staff were on the ball and very helpful / friendly. The pizza was great, the salad was very fresh but I found the chicken nuggets very bland, there wasn't that much taste out of them. The place was very busy with people eating in and I noticed a lot of takeaways so that speaks for itself. I would definitely go back there again.

The new style of ordering your food on a tablet takes away the experience of going to a restaurant. Gluten free pizza was mediocre, much smaller in size, I don't think £3:79 for a refillable drink is worth the price. My daughter who had the buffet enjoyed it, enough choice, and the salad bar was full.
