We, a party of six, went here last night. The staff are very pleasant and attentive and this helped make the visit perfect. We all enjoyed our food and I can personally comment on the Salt n Pepper Squid. This was by far the best I have ever had. Seasoned perfectly and the squid was lovely and tender, not chewy at all! I also had the Chilli and Garlic King Prawns. Again cooked perfectly and the Skinny Fries were also really good. Not ordered by me but I did try the Beer Battered Onion Rings. The batter was delicious and there was still a little bite to the onion. Best meal out we have had in a long time. 🥰

I booked a table for my wife's birthday at 7pm on a Saturday night and paid the £20 deposit online. We were passing at around lunchtime so I called in and asked if we could eat on the terrace, but was informed that the terrace was for drinks only after 7pm (this info is on the website but I missed it). We were obviously disappointed but asked if we could use the £20 deposit to have lunch instead as we were looking for somewhere to eat anyway. Unfortunately they would not budge and so we lost our deposit. I really do get that if someone cancels a booking, the restaurant has lost a sitting that they could have given to someone else, hence the deposit. I would be perfectly happy losing the deposit if we just didn't turn up or cancelled. But we were offering to have lunch instead so that neither ourselves or the restaurant lost out. Also, potentially the 7 o'clock sitting could still have been filled because this was lunchtime and Abersoch is a very busy place. I am still bewidered with the lack of flexibility here. Even though we cancelled our booking I still received a missed call from them at 7.15, presumably to ask where we were. So a bad show all round I'm afraid, and I would not recommend eating here due to the lack of common sense

Coffee and cake today. Table wasn’t cleaned and chairs filthy that we were sat at and surrounding windows and floor pretty filthy - not cleaned in a long time. (Hence reduction in stars for service). I was cringing thinking if they take this little pride in maintaining the cleanliness where we are sitting to eat then what is the kitchen like (gross thoughts!). They forgot the cake so I asked them for this and there was no explanation or apology or real urgency over bringing it out to me. They didn’t say anything at all even sorry for your wait - bit rude. Pretty much finished my coffee by the time it came out. Manners cost nothing. It was nice enough the drinks and cake but left feeling like a bit of an inconvenience. They seem not really that bothered about providing a great service and feel they take the custom for granted due to position. Coffee and cake nice enough but the overall pride in service and cleanliness well below average. Shame because the position is lovely. Replace the younger staff and give it a bloomin deep clean! daily! As a minimal tables cleaned in between use!

Food was nice. Some of the younger staff seemed marginally pleasant however there was an older guy who was quite passive aggressive. Not sure what his problem was but I was apprehensive to order a fourth orange juice after he scoffed at us. My daughter asked me for a pineapple juice and I was legit too scared to ask so I told her they didn’t have any. This place seems to have the market cornered around here and don’t they know it, very rude. We had to wait outside in the rain with our baby until a table was ready, they wouldn’t let us wait inside. Limited kids menu for breakfast, basically beans on toast. We bought an adults breakfast for our toddler, I asked if we could have a smaller breakfast and was treated like I’d asked a ridiculous question. Very peculiar, I understand the menu having restrictions but the unhelpful attitude was unfathomable.

This experience was totally awful I ordered coffee and cake and was made to wait for an hour. There was a pubic hair in my cake and the cream for my scone was frozen. Also the staff were incredibly unhelpful.

Enjoyed two meals here and had different experiences. Don't get me wrong, the food is lovely and I have good memories of being here, but that's when you could eat anywhere in the pub and not just at the back if you have children, it kinda feels like a punishment for having children! Service and food amazing first week, not so much the second week. We seemed to be waiting along time for service after the main course was served, not really sure why when we were the last table in before the adult's only service. The garlic and chilli prawns need chilli, hardly any spice, and nothing that special about the dish that cost £20.00. Also, avoid the chocolate pudding (on top of the menu board) sounds good as if like a fondant, but it's just chocolate cake with ice cream and quite boring.

Really busy restaurant/bar.. The food was fantastic... Service great.. Lucky to have got a seat in Abersoch.. So busy everywhere

Just called in for a drink - sat in the conservatory and enjoyed watching the movements in the boat yard.

Lively place to have a beer and sit and watch the boats being taken in and out if the boat yard. Very skillfull tractor drivers.

The women in glasses was horrible and rude to me and my kids. Ruined my weekend so won’t be coming back. Would not recommend shocking and lied to us on the phone with the booking. Hope she gets sacked

Very clean, full of life, modern, brownie and chocolate pudding were both delicious. Waitresses were both super attentive and kind. Bit on the expensive side. Great location, paid parking near by.

Solid 3 star experience. Food was mediocre. Service was ok but sloppy. The staff spent more time chatting to each other behind the bar. The deposit and price did not correlate to the experience.

We visited yesterday for a relaxing drink. It was a lovely place with a nice view. Great service. We didn't have any food but we looked at the menu and it had a great variety of options including a few vegetarian options. Definitely recommend.

Popped in here for lunch had the Steak Ciabatta which was truly tremendous. Lashings of fresh coffee finished off an excellent little meal. This place is both pleasing to the eye and the palate. I would strongly recommend that you pop in here and try this place out if you like high quality food, presentation and service.

We love a brunch at Zinc. Often too hard to get in of an evening, but a good fry up for a good price in a good setting. What's not to like?

Called in for lunch on a glorious sunny day and sat at a table directly outside. I'm not usually a fan of pavement dinning but it was fine. The food was great (turkey club sandwich, open prawn sandwich & kids chips & nuggets) and it was amazingly quick in coming out. It was barely 10 minutes between ordering and tucking in. Will definitely call in again when we're back in the area

I called in here for a coffee initially seated front of house .I was then offered a seat in the back lovely views settee cosy comfy for one . My cappochino great service and coffee served extra hot one shot with a smile. As somone visiting a local I enjoyed the mo.ent . Go they will make you feel welcome

Initially our party of 9 was told they couldn't cater without us prebooking, but the manageress quickly corrected the server as they weren't too busy. I had a Zinc burger and fries. It was OK, literally just a beef burger and piece of lettuce on a bun with a bit of mayo. Would have liked a bit of salad on it, tomatoes onion etc to liven it up. Only additional extras for it were cheese/bacon. Fries were nice. It was £15. Not sure it was worth 15 quid, but prices everywhere are wild at the moment so who knows!

Great atmosphere and lovely seating area with a view. Drinks are very expensive though.

The bar area is great. The staff were lovely and friendly. It was a bit cold in the restaurant (but it was blowing a gale outside). The starters (baby back ribs and beetroot falafel) were lovely - but main course red mullet Thai curry was average (although the veg was lovely). The white rice was way overcooked though.

Terrible undercooked food that was overpriced. Head waiter told a customer that tzatziki was a mayonaise based sauce with cucumber. I would not recommend. Very poor indeed

The changes made here in the bar area have turned Zinc into a lively bar with a great atmosphere.

Great restaurant in Abersoch -food was great, service was fantastic and it was just a lovely place to be that evening.

Very sparse menu. Food average at best. Don’t have the chunky chips! £2 extra (wasn’t told) and tasted like frozen oven chips 🤷🏻‍♂️👀 Not good when paying £19 for a main 🙈 Shame because when I went a couple of years back had Thai curry and was amazing what’s happened????

We were a little early 10mins to be precise the girl who we spoke to said your early you can get a drink next door we went back after walking scout for 10mins to be shown to the table that was empty when we first went in the chicken was terrible chewy couldn't eat it tasteless very expensive for what it is a pub & some of the staff need to learn some manners .Will never step foot in that place again .

Were told we couldn’t sit in the area with the sea view as it was too busy…..but it clearly wasn’t at capacity (midweek at lunchtime). Perhaps we visited at the wrong time but the service seemed a bit disjointed. Food was nice and it’s in a good location.

Got charged £100 for a £60 meal. Waitress walked off whilst paying our bill. Me and my friend (both 14) were charged £25 for a £9 panini after the waitress had told us we only payed £9. Waitress went home before charging the rest of our friends. Shocking service, had one nice waitress who tried to help though. Food was quite nice but not worth £25z

Zinc website states dog friendly. What this really means is that you're on the footpath so not dog friendly!!!

Excellent, polite staff, food was locally sourced and great (sausages and lamb burger were great). Prices sensible. Very clean in the cafe and toilets well kept. Great effort made with children - plastic cup and staff tried hard with him. Only disappointment was seeing a special winter warmer drink on the specials board I couldnt have as i was driving !

Had full breakfast overall quite good but my bacon was extremely fatty and not much bacon to be had.

A group of eight us popped in here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon during the half term holidays. We were immediately greeted by several very friendly members of staff, and seated in their outdoor terrace in glorious sunshine! The food we ordered was fantastic, and the staff even more so! Definitely recommend Zinc if you're hungry and in the area! Thanks for having us. 😊

Good food, great venue, arrogant and disrespectful management. Complete joke. The night ended with the a bill for three mains, for two people, with no deductions, and a manager trying to substantiate through their floor staff why I had to pay full price after being served the wrong food. We were told “not to worry” as they left the food at the table for me to pick at for 15 minutes while they corrected their mistake and brought what I ordered. Nice touch, as the whole point of going out is to eat *together*. They had also offered free drinks or deserts due to their mistake, which they didn’t deduct from the bill until I went to contest it. Poor experience due to bad management, shame.

Poor service 1/10 Food was ok but had an awful experience where young server noted the wrong meal ordered and we got a veggie burger instead of a lamb. When we explained, she said do you want to keep the chips before she took away (the expectation being to scrape the chips off the plate with our bare hands). This seemed unprofessional and she said don't worry you can keep the plate. Offered a free drink or pudding as an apology but then proceeded to charge us for 2x meals as we'd eaten some of the wrong meal whilst waiting for the right one to come. Would've happily stayed and ordered more drinks but after speaking to the manager felt she had a poor attitude, saying that we'd ordered the veggie burger! Any meat eater will know you don't order a mushroom burger by accident 😆

Very few vegan options. Bread and chips were lovely. However we asked for a vegan feta salad from the starter section but served with the mains. They miss heard me and served a vegan feta burger. So we had to wait for the salad and then they charged the price of a main, £14.95 when asked for a starter but served with the mains! (Bearing in mind some of the meat burgers were the same price!) And most of it was mint which shouldn’t be more than a sprinkle on top! The vegan dessert was the same price but half the size of the normal! Then they took three attempts to get the receipt right! So an overall awful experience and wouldn’t recommend to anyone with allergy or dietary requirements as would not trust them!

A beautiful meal yesterday evening, great service, friendly staff and delicious food, will be back again soon.

Always love eating here. Have done for several years. Last night I had a really beautiful medium 10oz Ribeye Steak with chips and gorgeous Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough New Zealand 2022 (didn't do a Malbec for a change!) Fantastic Gluen Free Sticky Toffee Pudding with cream and Vanilla Ice cream after the main course. Great buzzy atmosphere, really popular place and deservedly so. Really friendly and funny staff. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for! What more could anyone want for a night out? PS. Plus a beautiful view of the sun setting over the little harbour from their fantastic convertible (roof opening!!) Conservatory. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous meal here. I had calamari to start which had crisp batter on the outside and soft squid rings on the inside. To follow I had a ribeye steak which was beautifully cooked and fully of flavour. Both dishes were the best I have had in some time...

Everything ok , when asking about certain foods, the staff seemed a little unsure about what was in them ,my wife has food allergies and they seemed unsure, and had to ask a manager who seemed unsure .Having a staff work station near the door was a little off-putting as we felt we were being watched 👀 all the time . The food was ok, but nothing different from anywhere like Costa Coffee, or weatherspoons .

Stopped off for a quick mocha and hot chocolate in February. Airy atmosphere in the larger, rear room. Friendly staff and decent value drinks. Would recommend.

It was quiet but not a bad thing and to be expected for out of season. However, the food, staff, and service were amazing 👏🏻. Highly recommended, and I look forward to returning in the summer months, if not before. We had wings and salted squid for starter's, good-sized portions. The chicken supreme and chorizo is highly recommended 👌 👍🏼

Seriously over priced for the quality of food and service. I asked for a medium well steak and it was way over cooked. Dry and no flavour. We where not asked once if our meal was okay. And the plates where left over 30 minutes after we had finished. Even then I had to ask for them to be cleared. Would be more understandable if it was very busy but it wasn't. Very disappointed would of enjoyed beans on toast or a butty from the petrol station much more. I don't mind paying good money for good food but this was very good money for very poor food.

Food is always good, friendly staff, good atmosphere, large conservatory overlooking the inner harbour. Open for breakfast and lunch Sometimes they are very busy in the evening so it is best to book in advance .

Clean and tidy staff pleasant and drinks nice. Whist it was out of season this was for 3 days one of only two places to drink in Abersoch and whilst nice very quiet.

Deposit scam. Checked Google maps for dog friendly restaurants in Abersoch. Had to make table booking for 5 online. No mention on website that it is not dog friendly. Had to make £50 deposit for 5 of us. Dog water bowls outside restaurant. However when we turned up for our table were informed that dogs were not allowed. Refused to return the £50 pound deposit

Just sat outside enjoying a few pints whilst people watching. They have a real good bunch of staff working there.

We went to Zinc tonight - I was treating my wife to a lovely meal. I had a prawn cocktail and the sauce was not the usual Marie Rose sauce. It had very little colour or flavour. The main meal was very good for us both. I ordered a Gaelic coffee. When it came, I felt that the balance of spirits to coffee were such you could not really taste the spirit. The volume of coffee was too great for the whiskey flavour to come through. When I paid I gave my feedback to the manager. Her comment was 'thats how we do it here" regarding both the prawn cocktail sauce and the coffee. I also commented on the main meal being very good. But alas I felt I was wasting my time. I felt it was not worth £90.

Loved it had a coffee then went back to eat later on in day, the soup ( roasted red pepper and lentil) and ciabatta sandwich gorgeous. Staff lovely
