Zen Wok in Maidstone

Ordered take away for 4 people. All food ordered was good. Order was ready quickly. Would order from here again.

Only tried this as the proper Chinese at the bottom of the hill is closed Mondays will not try again.

Having read these reviews, we chose to try it anyway. Very pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed our meal a lot.

Wasn't very impressed to be honest, it was really expensive compared to others in the area (over £10 for 2 rices and some prawn crackers and sauce!) and the food was a bit of a let down. Also there were people not wearing masks in the shop and they just didn't even query it, making it feel really unsafe. Also didn't make customers socially distance so it didn't feel like a safe environment at all.

Food itself was ok, but worked out from the menu that I had been overcharged - unless the menu on the wall has incorrect prices on it? Spring rolls are really thin so mostly pastry with very little filling. Was just OK, so I won't be going back. Shame as most reviews rave about the place. Food came quick so that was only benefit.

Cant say much more than the title really, theres better available but not in staplehurst so if you don't want to drive it's the best in that area, sunkee in Linton is better though.

Put in order by telephone. On collection I discovered they don't take card payment. This info wasn't given over the phone. They wanted me to traipse down to the nearest cashpoint then back again. I'd already had to park some distance away in the opposite direction to the cashpoint, as the parking is non-existing/appalling. So I cancelled the order. I was told that if I was a regular customer I would have known about cards. Duh, talk about stating the b******g obvious!!! On leaving, I was told quite aggressively that my name would be taken off the list, so I could never come back. As if I would anyway. Bad customer relations and service. Can't comment on the food, clearly, but goodness only knows how they keep going if that's their business model. Avoid!!

Best food around for miles.quick and efficient, friendly staff and a very wide menu to choose from. The lady was very nice and friendly but also helpful. I found the new owners had added a lot more dishes to the menu giving wider choice than most other takeaways in the area. I also enjoyed my meal very much and so did my family.

Turned up, lady behind the desk didn’t even look up from reading the paper until we were already standing at the desk. Then after we’d ordered she sat down and started watching videos on her phone. We ordered the food to be told it was £50 “exactly” now some Chinese places can be quite expensive however, in a bit of disbelief I grabbed a menu on the way out. When getting home and unpacking we had been given two, 1/4 ducks when we only ordered 1. If we wanted 2 we would have bought a half!? I’ve just calculated everything we got given and it came to £47.20 not “£50 exactly” it’s not enough to go back and complain but I just think it’s ridiculous and the attitude on the woman makes it even worse. Food itself was ok, but will never be going back for the fact we got over charged for food we didn’t even want and then extra!!

This was a last minute choice that turned out well. Food was good, Szechuan Duck and duck with cashews turned out well.

Real good takeaway food very good and always nice and hot. Would say best Chinese I had for along time well done zen wok.

tonight, 25/10/17, had the worse meal I have had from the take away in 13years..it was poorly cooked and tasted burnt.

Old favourite Best in area Nothing unusual on the menu just better cooked than others , Good selection of starters

Worth travelling to from nearby villages. Good food, quick service. Can't find a menu online though.

Excellent service, when given a time for a take away it is always there on time. very efficient front of house and equally so from the chefs. Quality and quantity of food is always good. Cash only, no problem if you are fore-warned. Crispy duck well worth it!

La señora de la barra está siempre alegre y servicial y me sorprendió después de no visitar durante mucho tiempo una vez que ella me recordaba, reconozco al instante ella incluso ya sabía de lo que me pida!

La comida los cocineros productos un buen estándar - el pato crujiente siempre es genial como es algo más que orden. Sin embargo, el frente de la casa tiene mucho que desear - grosero, odioso, antipático y maldita derecha ignorante que se preocupan sólo de sí mismos y de ver a los clientes como una molestia. Sólo en efectivo en el mundo de hoy invita a una pregunta así - cara aventura con no un buen final aparte de el pato. Staplehurst tiene poco que, en general, y este restaurante chino no agrega valor

The chow mein was fried rock hard noodles like they had been taken out of packet and shown the oil and the breaded chicken wing were from a sparrow they were just battered bones so disappointed but we will be telling our family and friends to avoid now, we have had some good meals but this has put us off from going there anymore will be travelling further to paddock wood or coxheath

Always order Chinese from here as there is never any issues and price is good. Friendly and fast service even at weekends.

Utilizamos para dividir nuestro negocio entre Zen Wok y la otra para llevar chino en el pueblo. Ahora sólo usar el otro después de que me estaba enfermo después de una comida compra de Zen Wok.

Vivimos en Marden y no tienen problema en coche de Staplehurst para recoger un delicioso fin de esta comida para llevar.

A Chinese you can rely on. Always use Zen Wok for my takeaway needs in the villiage, much better than the one at the bottom of the hill!Very fair prices and can never complain with the quality and turn around times, will always continue to visit!

Always use this "take away" (we have a choice of two in this village)Had a one hour wait last time due to it's popular demand, but well worth the wait.The set meals are excellent value and are very generous portions.Do try their spring rolls,these must be the best ones that you will ever try.I highly recommend Zen Wok. (Best to order by phone) saves the wait.

Have been using Zen Wok for takeaway Chinese meals for about 14 years and would definitely think they are the best in this area. (Biddneden, Hawkhurst, Cranbrook).The food is always consistently good with great flavour and portion size. Haven't been able to find fault with anything I've had from them over the years and will definitely continue to use them.

Just had a takeaway from here. The worst Chinese I've tasted. Really hope it doesn't make me sick! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, let alone my friends!

Good Chinese takeaway food at reasonable prices. Have been going here for many years now and never had a bad meal.
