Here’s an honest review for those considering staying here, or people like me who didn’t realize that the reviews are falsely elevated in exchange for certain benefits (such as free use of a hairdryer) The good: - location is great. It’s walking distance to a tube station, covent garden and Soho - check in starts at 2.45pm, which was seamless with many automated counters and helpful staff (some reviewers mentioned being turned away due to overbooking. Shouldn’t be a problem if you check in early) - My room was free from bed bugs (check your bed properly before jumping in) - Shower pressure good with hot water - The room is really dark if you want to sleep. Some folks don’t like and complained about the lack of a window, just be aware of this. - There’s security at night making sure only guests enter the hotel The bad: - Room was dirty, a potential dealbreaker. Found blonde hair on the bed, floor and even worse a bunch inside the “clean” bath towel provided. Floor was obviously not vacuumed - Found a plastic condom wrapper under mattress when checking for bed bugs - Bed is small (even for 2 small sized Asians), and you have to climb over your partner to go to the toilet. Room is tiny as well - Soundproofing not great. Could hear the next room doors opening and closing - They don’t provide luggage storage for free, charging an exorbitant £15 per luggage (I suggest using Stasher to find cheaper places to store if you’re early) - They don’t provide hairdryers, again charging £10 PER DAY for usage (that’s if you’re lucky that there’s one available). They may ask you to post a good review for them to be loaned 1 for free (this the falsely elevated ratings on Google). Suggest bringing your own portable one - Wonky tap. After a few uses, no water came out. Troubleshot it myself and realized the button gets stuck easily, and you have to use some strength to push and pull it. - No toothbrushes, bottled water, kettle, TV provided. The room is basically for you to sleep and shower. Snack and drinks are available in a vending machine in the lobby (for a premium, of course) In summary, it’s a more affordable option in a good location, if you’re willing the overlook the hygiene issues, small size, lack of amenities expected of a hotel and are planning to stay only for a short duration

I liked the location of the hotel. And it was clean But there was no windows in the room. No phone to call the reception, no room service, no tv, no ironing machine, no dryer, no slippers (the floor was cold since it is ceramic, no coffee machine or kittle, and no toiletries like a toothbrush, razor). Everything is shown on this picture.

The place is in a great location. The rooms are the perfect size and checkin was smooth. Our only two complaints were the lack of control of the shower water pressure. The water comes out extremely intense and it’s only “on” or “off”. The other issue is that you can hear nearby clubs until 2-3am. We got into the room after 1am and expected a quiet sleep since the hallways are so quiet - nope. It was loud for hours

The rooms are clean and fine, but everything you need comes with an extra cost, which I found extremely annoying. A hair dryer? £10. An ironing board? £10. Storing your luggage? £15. etc. The ventilation is quite loud because there are no windows, so the bathroom is ventilated through a mechanical system.

The location is excellent, but unfortunately that's about it. No window in the room, no hairdryer and no chair - according to the website, “everything for a good night’s sleep”. But to get a good night's sleep, I don't need a ventilation system that runs all night and isn't exactly quiet either. You only need ventilation because there are no windows. The corridors are very dark and not well signposted. Breakfast is available for an additional charge of 15 pounds. The special highlight was the frosted glass bathroom door, which couldn't be closed completely... privacy is definitely there.

Optimal location at Picadilly Circus. Rooms relatively small, but sufficient. Because the wet room is only separated by a glass door, there is little privacy there. Breakfast at Coyote Ugly is selected from a very clear menu. For us it would take 45 minutes to prepare, but that's not possible. That's why you can skip breakfast at Zedwell. Overall, the stay was completely fine.

My room had no windows. The rooms are very basic and don't include hair dryers, irons, or anything to hang shirts with. I got new towels daily, but not my bed made. Shampoo/soaps seemed watered down lol. The breakfast was ok, though 2/4 of the mornings I ate there didn't include advertised spinac, plus came cold. It's SUPER central, though, so if you're going to be out and about, this is a decent value place to be.

⭐ 1/5 Absolutely Terrible Experience - Bed Bugs Nightmare- PICTURES ATTACHED! I cannot express enough how disappointed I am with my recent stay at this hotel in room 1304. On Saturday, September 28th, 2024 we checked in around 10 PM, only to have our night turn into an absolute nightmare. While trying to sleep, we woke up at 4:30 AM to bed bugs crawling all over us and the bed! Disgusted and horrified, we went down to the reception and spoke to a staff member named Lucky, who moved us to another room (4156), offered us free breakfast, two bottles of water, and offered to have pyjamas dry-cleaned (which they didn't even clean, we had to pay 73 pounds at our next hotel) and luggage sprayed/steamed. But this nightmare didn’t end there! When we woke up in the new room, guess what we found? Another bed bug.... 4 levels away. The situation was beyond unacceptable, forcing us to have our belongings sprayed once again. To make matters worse, we later found out that this bed bug issue has been going on for three months! Despite the hotel's attempt to replace furniture, the problem is clearly out of control. It’s appalling that they continue to keep these rooms open to guests when the infestation is still rampant. This hotel should not be in operation until this issue is resolved. We requested a full refund for the stay, visited the hotel 3 days in a row speaking to all managers, and finally the assistant manager. They only offered a refund for the one night out of the 5 we paid for. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. This is beyond gross and frankly, shocking for a hotel. We left feeling traumatised and unsafe in what should’ve been a comfortable stay. Stay away at all costs!

Good hotel right on Picadilly Circus. The hotel itself isn't super special. Rooms are rudimentarily equipped, shower, sink, bed and a small table to store luggage. There are no windows, that should be clear to anyone booking here. The hotel advertises that you can rest very well in the rooms, but it was completely okay. The noise from the hallway and other rooms still comes through, but it is relatively quiet and doesn't bother you. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. There was still hair and stains in the sink, and there was still an adhesive strip on the duvet cover? The rest was okay. The key point here is the location. It is absolutely unbeatable. Right on Picadilly Circus, the Westend with many musicals literally around the corner, shopping, restaurants and other activities in the immediate vicinity. That's why it's worth the price.

First off, the beds are relatively comfortable and so are the sheets. But other than that, it’s barebones. If you want a barebones hotel room with a bed and adjoining bathroom, this is your best bet. If you want unnecessary things like a nightstand, reading light, chair, phone, clock, desk, television, art, dresser or anything with which to unpack clothing, or any surface at all with which to place your wallet, phone, watch, glasses, etc, then I suggest you stay somewhere else. My mobile phone is on the floor charging. My wallet is on the floor. My clothes are in my suitcase. My travel companion’s glasses are in her purse, which is on the floor. Additionally, what little technology they do have, the usb charging ports above the beds, was not working above one bed, so we had to share. The lobby of this hotel has like 20 or more tablets with which to check in. Those represent practically the only technology in this hotel other than the free WiFi, which is not password protected (meaning you don’t have to be a paying guest to use it). This is a security threat for any paying guests using the hotel’s WiFi. Other technologies include a lift, or elevator as we would say across the pond in the states, as well as a tap to enter keycard system. They also require an active room keycard to access the hallways containing the rooms after using the lift from the lobby. This is an added security feature for guests. The air conditioning works well. But it’s extremely strange to walk into a room with no surfaces at all. The room, by the way, does not look like the photos I saw— photos that had strange-looking modern bunkbeds with nice wooden frames and ambient lighting was not my room at all. There are multiple light switches but they are switches that control the same lights, not any sort of ambient lighting. The beds are on a normal frame and you can’t see the frame. There’s no headboard, which doesn’t really matter. The point I’m trying to make here is that the nice modern-looking wooden bed frames from the photos I saw of this place are not in my room. When I went to check in, it was 20 minutes to 1pm and they said I had to pay 40 pound for early check in and that my room would be ready in 5-10 minutes and that they would come get me in the lobby and give me my room keys. An hour later, since nobody had come up to me, I went up to the front desk and they said my room was ready. But I felt like I had been bamboozled out of 40 pound at that point. I could have simply waited another hour in the lobby until check-in time at 3pm and saved the 40 pound. I thought the star system for hotels had something to do with guest amenities and either I’m wrong about that, or this place is not a 3-star hotel. Don’t be fooled by the Zedwell because the Zedwell is all about the minimum and you’ll notice this not in the lobby, but when you enter your room. Having said that, the sink and toilet are fairly nice, but how much time is spent in there relative to the amount of time spent in the room? The bathroom is actually slightly nicer than the rest of the room. If I wanted to, I could use the sink as a surface for charging my cell phone. I could even use the toilet as a chair and turn it into a disgusting little office. Obviously that’s sarcasm but seriously though, should I leave the bathroom door open to make the entire hotel room seem nicer? The best aspect about the Zedwell has nothing to do with the hotel itself. It has a good location in Piccadilly Circus and that’s why I ultimately chose this hotel to stay in. But it’s a barebones hotel, don’t be fooled into thinking you’re getting a good deal in terms of amenities. The room is a box with a bed, no window, and an attached bathroom. And when I say, “don’t be fooled by the Zedwell,” I don’t mean that it’s a gross hotel or anything like that. It’s certainly nice enough for me, and it’s clean. I simply mean that there is a representation of the Zedwell out there with photos that is completely unlike my experience at the Zedwell, meaning that I didn’t get exactly what I was expecting.

I stay in Zedwell every time I'm in London. Always a nice welcome, wide open lobby and working area with free wifi, good cafe and comfy, clean Japanese-style cocoon rooms. It's always a bit of a maze when finding the room but not enough to make it anything less than a 5 star stay.

The hotel is in the perfect location, modern and clean. There are no windows for the rooms but they have chosen lighting and an esthetic that makes this concept work. The check in process is efficient on a tablet but there are people to assist as needed. The walls are very thin, you can hear all movement and conversation if your neighbor room is occupied. There is no secondary security feature/bolt on the doors so this should be evaluated. When I shared this suggestion with the front desk, I don’t think he understood the point as he said “don’t worry we have cameras everywhere”. Also, within 15 minutes of my arrival a man knocked on my door saying “maintenance” and “you called maintenance”. I didn’t call maintenance and there are no security peep holes in order to see outside the room. This is not comfortable for a solo female traveler.

There is no window and the bathroom is just a glass door, but I was aware of it when I booked and I still don't regret it. Impeccable location, in front of the subway and you can do a lot on foot. We had a pleasant stay at Zedwell hotel. The room was tiny but cozy, with just enough space and great lighting that created a warm atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The only downside was the shower—it didn’t have a door, and the fixed ceiling showerhead made it tricky to avoid getting your hair wet. However, the incredibly friendly staff, along with the great price and fantastic location, more than made up for it. The hotel is close to many tourist attractions and surrounded by excellent restaurants. Plus, they have vending machines for nearly everything you might need—a fun and convenient touch! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!

Location, service, room and check in is all good. Please be aware that they very often double charge you for the rooms (prepaid rooms) if they ask you to enter your credit card details when checking in please ignore this as they will charge the card again. This happened to me 2 weeks ago and i cannot reach anyone at their hotel. They have not responded to my calls, their e-mail asks you to use their whatsapp chat bot and the whatsapp messages are never replied. If you want to enjoy your stay here please do not give them your credit card details (search the reviews below you will see that this has been happening since 2022 and they seem to be getting away with stealing peoples money)

The rooms are new, comfortable and clean. Unbeatable service and location in the middle of picadilly. If we come back to London we will stay there again. By the way, check-in can be done in Catalan!!!! Thank you Zedwell!!!!!

Similar to other reviews, stayed here with my mother and two adults daughters. We arrived two hours early, asked if we could leave our very small overnight bags safe until our room was available, we were told yes but this would be chargeable. This was a shock as I cannot remember when I've not been able to leave our bags in any hotel previously. We were offered entrance to our room early again at a cost of £40. I paid it so we could at least leave our bags safe. Information from checking in is basic at best, we booked breakfast and no information offered. I later asked for a hair dryer again a basic part of a usual room booking and this was also chargeable at £15, I refused to pay it, instead asked to leave a positive review and I could have it for free. I said yes ok and obviously didn't, the dryer didn't even fit the sockets in my room anyway. Overall those hotel could be great but there added costs and lack of customer care let it down. No issues with anything else apart from no tea making facilities! I mean come on, were on London! We love tea drinking!

Only good thing about this place is the location, also staff were quite friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable, not enough towels and only got a towel mat in one of the days we stayed, the wet room gets very wet and it’s hard to keep the rest of the room dry as it’s so small. Would benefit from more hooks/somewhere to hang your clothes. Ridiculously they charge £15 per bag if you want them to hold it before check in. Plus the vending machine charges extortionate prices, £5 for one can of coke?! Would not go back.

The hotel is very well located, but that is the only good thing about it. They use the environment as an excuse for not cleaning the rooms, but we believe that in reality what they are doing is saving salaries. A dirty thing, because when we entered it wasn't clean either. They say they clean every four days, but we have been there five and not a single thing has happened there. broom. It has no windows, so ventilation is very very poor. They don't even have a simple closet to organize your clothes, nor a chair to sit on, nor a shelf in the bathroom. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND A HOTEL AS DIRTY LIKE THIS AT ALL.

I will start with the basics. Service was not only good it was great! Staff were attentive at all times. They provided recommendations, there was a genuine smile with each plate the placed at the table. They were interactive and polite at all times. The food was so tasty, authentic to the taste, opinionated reviewer as being Spanish I look for the seasoning my mum always plates at home. I’m usually so underwhelmed by so many tapas restaurants and they lack the right seasoning and lack the authentic taste. This did not fail. The ambiance was good and the place is clean and organised

The food and atmosphere were fantastic. However, the service could use some improvement. We were charged for a dish that was unavailable. Additionally, we ordered tea, but after waiting for 15 minutes, we were informed that our order was forgotten. They continuously brought water to our table without asking if we wanted more and cleared dishes without checking if we had finished eating. From interior design aspects.. Ladies watch out.. there is no place to put or hang your bags 😅! The light are soo dim and the candles on the tables are not a safe thing and is uncomfortable with the dimmed lights… Hopefully, they will make improvements to their service & decor choices
