Incredible value for money. Best in Edinburgh.

Been order pizza today at this place and ask for thick base , so l ve been charge extra for it £3 plus £13 for chicken pizza. Then after open pizza at home its turn that pizza is very thin and it was mayby a few chicken pices on it , really very disappointed of this . Really aviod this place is dirty and they cheat people.

Friendly lad and great food on a Saturday night

Swung in for a late dinner and the owner could not have been more accommodating. He made exactly what my girlfriend wanted and asked for our opinions on his recipes. He truly cares that his customers enjoy his food and it was delicious. Our feedback was welcomed and we had great conversation with him while he made our food fresh to order. Recommend 5/5!

We had a very unique and warm experience here while enjoying extremely tasty kebabs! We loved to hear about the owner, Oscar's, livelihood. He also shared with us some recommendations on what to do in Edinburgh during our visit. I personally liked the chicken kebab a great deal more than the lamb, but they were both delicious options! Thank you for creating a memorable night for us in Edinburgh Oscar!

Garlic bread was really good. Cheesy and had a nice layer of pesto, something quite different from others. Owner was very friendly and offered me a complimentary dessert as well.

This central takeaway is a great spot to grab a classic chippy/kebab style dinner, even into the late hours. The owner is particularly helpful and is always willing to help out other hospitality staff and locals in the area - plus is a great chat while you wait for your food. Super cheap - especially for being just off the Royal Mile! Being from Ireland, it can be hard for me to find takeaways that compare to home but this does the job! Delicious food, go back frequently! :)

Magnificent food suprised this isnt michelin starred. My friend Sir Robert really enjoyed his spit roasted chicken and chips didnt leave a drop. Also a great burger, kebab tray that can easily serve a full cell we saved it on the wall outside for the return home. Really friendly neighbours also let me use his toilet on route to Bannartynes bar. The home made garlic mayo in a paint bucket is amazing i would love the recipe. Cant wait to return. My mate Alan also wants to pass his thanks on as it made him get the early train home

Great little takeaway place just off the Royal Mile! I had the chicken kebab, the portion is big, the ingredients are fresh and smells really amazing. The owner is very friendly too, he said that there will be a new menu soon.

Super yum pizza great customer service

I ate here a few days ago around eleven o'clock in the evening. we were greeted with a wonderful smile and humor. however, we found that a very drunk man had followed us, and when he tried to get violent, the nice pizza man was quite ready to help us away from him. we were reassured and escorted home by the pizza man so we didn't run into the drunk man again and we couldn't be more grateful. wonderful place, wonderful pizza man 💗💗💗

Ich war mit einer Freundin draußen und wir haben nach einem Restaurant gesucht in dem man gut essen kann und es nicht teuer ist. Da sind wir an dem unscheinbaren Laden vorbeigelaufen und wurde nett angelächelt, woraufhin wir uns das Menü angeschaut haben und zu unserer Überraschung festgestellt haben, dass der Laden für Edinburgh Verhältnisse recht günstig ist. Nachdem wir darauf hingewiesen wurden, dass der Pizzateig gerade frisch gemacht wurde, haben wir uns Pizza bestellt und haben sie vor unseren Augen frisch zubereitet bekommen. Der Mann war sehr sehr freundlich und wir haben uns die ganze Zeit unterhalten. Und zum Schluss haben wir noch feuchte Tücher dazu bekommen. Ich werde auf jedenfall wieder herkommen während meines Aufenthaltes hier.😁

Muy recomendable... El mejor kebab que he comido en mucho tiempo. El cordero estaba delicioso, el mejor que he probado en un sitio de kebab, y el pollo también. El trato muy bueno. El encargado fue muy amable. Los kebabs eran bastante grandes, no pudimos terminarlo. Pedimos también patatas fritas.

Oscar, the owner of the shop is a warm hearted man and will welcome you as an old family member. He was very caring and offered us a touching human experience along with food. I can recommend the pizzas there, the 16" is huge! Thank you Oscar, your place was an oasis on our travel.

Service 10/5. Oscar is easiest the nicest, most personable pizza guy I've ever met. We spent 15 minutes in his shop and felt like family. The pizzas we ordered were great but made even better by his personality. A true gem.

Would absolutely recommend this place to go to for food! Group of us got 3 pizzas, they were all created completely fresh there and then. Had a good chat with the owner, super friendly to talk to, as well as providing sanitary wipes with the food. The pizza was incredible, none of us had any complaints. If you’re in the area i would highly recommend coming here.

Great place to visit for a meal. I recommend ordering the kebab in pita with salad and fries. The fresh sauces are delishous. The kebab is homemade also. The owner is a nice person too. Definetly recommend.

Definitely recommend this place! They make their food fresh and it's delicious! We talked to the owner (I think?) for a while and he was so friendly and nice. We got the donner kebab and garlic bread and both were incredible yummy. I forgot to take photos of the food but I will definitely be coming back here when I visit Edinburgh again!

Ok, WOW. A very unexpected, amazing food experience. Looking in for the first time, you think???? But then …… Oskar (the chef) was absolutely delightful. Customer service was through the roof and the food… Well, the kebab was just superb, the chips thick and crunchy, and the sauces were so good, my son also couldn’t fault his burger. Oskar fed our group with a range of dishes all so tasty and homemade. This must be my best hidden gem of a find EVER!!! Just WOW. I’m so looking forward to a follow up visit. Unfortunately, this might have ruined me for alternative Turkish/Kurdish dining, FOREVER!!! FYI: as you can see, I finished it all. Not sure how cause it was massive.

Popped in today during fringe. Unassuming little corner place. Very friendly owner, not over priced, think he left his prices the same unlike everywhere else during fringe, food was prepared fresh and good portion sizes. Makes his own donner meat, could genuinely taste the quality difference. Food was tasty. Happy to recommend and will visit again.

Ozgur foi muito educado e simpático com nosso grupo de amigos desde que chegamos. O fish and chips tem um ótimo custo benefício e, como ele mesmo disse, comida barata não significa que precisa ser ruim. Era possível ver a qualidade nos ingredientes utilizados. Muito legal ver a admiração dele pelo Rei Pelé, tivemos uma conversa bem divertida. Recomendo!

Abbiamo preso una pizza col salame piccante di sera tardi, quando ormai tutto in zona era chiuso. Il pizzaiolo era estremamente gentile, la pizza assolutamente mangiabile per i standard nordici ed esattamente quello che cercavamo dopo una serata al pub. Il posto è molto informale ma come snack post serata è assolutamente consigliato!

Lo que si te puedes esperar y encontrar en este lugar, será a Oscar, una gran persona, con un gran corazón, grandes recomendaciones y sobre todo unas ricas pizzas recién hechas. Comer en Edimburgo pasadas las 10 de la noche es muy difícil, así que encontrarte con #Zarastreetfood será lo mejor que te puede pasar cuando hace hambre y frío :)

Had a fantastic experience here last night. Ordered a cheesy garlic bread pizza which was presented amazingly and tasted even better. A pleasant surprise, the pizza was topped with the perfect amount of pesto—making it all I can think of tens of hours later. To top off the great food, the service was impeccable (was even given some wet naps for the food, lovely)! Looking forward to heading back

Happened to be passing this place while working in the cowgate... on way home decided to stop by and grab a pizza.... the chef (tall guy) took my order and was very friendly very customer focused. The pizza tasted amazing and would recommend to anyone passing the vicinity.

Food is great for a takeaway, we had fish and chips. There was a lot of food for the money, we did not manage to eat it all. The owners are friendly and nice.
