Zappa’s has a great choice of salads, pies, cakes, smoothies and many other goodies, all plant based and much of it organic.. yay! Lovely staff, brilliant location and generous portions. We stayed in their delightful East meets West room above the cafe and enjoyed a very comfortable 3 nights, with everything we could have wanted. A large room with a super king sized bed and an en-suite with a beautiful bath made entirely of brass. It felt very indulgent, quirky in a really good way and with many luxurious touches .. they could charge a much higher room rate, the cost was extremely modest. Highly recommend the room we had and breakfast in the cafe was lovely.

Popped in on the way back home from a long walk with the dog for a coffee and something to eat. 2 oat flat whites, a wrap and the Happy Bun - titled completely correctly! It was so delicious paired with beautiful tasting coffee. The staff were really lovely and can tell they love working there, such a nice atmosphere. Also the perfect place for a bit of people watching! Will 100% be back!

We were looking for a hot drink to take away after having a lovely visit to the beautiful Totnes. We came across this lovely coffee shop. We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we walked in, the gentleman behind the counter was so friendly and so up beat it was definitely the perfect place to get a hot drink. 2 beautiful Hot choclates made, and we also ordered 2 sausage rolls too. The gentleman held the door open for us as we had our hands full with our purchases too, which was such a lovely gesture to carry out. The sausage rolls and hot chocolates tasted devine. We will definitely be back. We were made to feel so very welcome, a lovely experience for sure. We will recommend this place to everyone we know.

Excellent and tasty vegetarian and organic dishes, along with some vegan and gluten free cakes. Vegetarian lasagne was superb and only 5.50. Small salads full of flavour only 5.00. Coffee under 3.00. Juices and smoothies at 5.00 but with great ingredients. Small pieces of cake could be more generous for 4.20 Overall this new venture is a great addition to Totnes high street. Great value. How fabulous to find an exclusively plant-based cafe/restaurant that could feed us with deliciousness on arrival in Totnes in the late afternoon and again at lunchtime next day. They even do vegan breakfast so we were sorry to miss that!

Lovely fresh food at a reasonable price. Friendly helpful staff. Real cutlery which was a nice change from bamboo. Dog friendly but no loo (that wasn’t an intentional rhyme)

The most amazing little vegan cafe. I enjoyed an arancini plate with a really interesting mixed salad. I followed this with a piece of the most delicious lemon cake, so fab I forgot to take a phot until I’d had a fork full… oops! You must visit.

A friendly welcoming place, we came here twice for breakfast. Their smoothie bowl with granola and seeds is lovely as was the granola bowl with coconut yoghurt. Coffee is also good and I appreciated the little jug of warm oat milk for mine (as well as the chocolate hearts it came with on Valentines Day!) Croissants came with locally made jams and can recommend the Sea Buckthorn. Salads/snacks look inviting. Well worth a stop and particularly nice with the High Street currently shut to traffic.

Liked the look from outside so came in and got seduced by the chalk board and the plant based goodies in the display cabinets. Friendly, relaxed, helpful staff and tasty value stuff to go with hot and cold drinks. Will be back for a full lunch sometime soon.

It's odd to realise that this is our first all-vegan venue. Correct me if I am wrong! They have a delightful location, next to St Mary's Church, half way up the High St. An interesting menu and very reasonably priced. Very friendly service. I had Arancini, well only one, but I don't know the singular! And a small mixed salad. Delicious. The rice in the arancini was tasty but perhaps a bit claggy. I am going back this week to try some other things! Beware, they have no toilet (there's one nearby in the Market Place) and there's a step at the entrance.

What a great, lovely little pub, nice and cozy, great service and when it came to the food, well, outstanding main courseoff the specials board, great portions, you will not be(shouldn't be) going home hungry. Highly recommend Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening

We realise that this restaurant cannot provide a large menu especially during the autumn /winter but on our evening the fish choice was not on (replaced with a lazy prawn dish) and out of two desserts the crumble was also not available! Feel this is lazy as there is so much fish available locally and the excuses to not provide an apple crumble is in fact rather lazy from the kitchen. If you only want to offer pizzas and burgers, fine but don’t disappoint people with omissions.

Although the food was nice, the portions were minute and my entire lunch (for which I paid over £10) had about 300 calories in it (half a pitta bread, two lettuce leaves, a tiny pot of hummus, a few carrot and cucumber sticks and five olives). Fine if you are on a seriously calorie counting diet, but not if you’re looking to feel replete. Atmosphere today: very quiet. No one talking much.
