A very very nice restaurant, it is more for takeaway, but got a nice seating area. I do enjoy the food every time I go there.

First time experiencing an Afghan cuisine yesterday. The mix grill, baklava and tea was really nice and cooked properly full of so flavour. Would definitely visit again.

The wrap I had was awful the chicken was dry and tasteless. I hope you guys improve your kitchen in the future .

Staff are always super friendly! This very quickly became a regular spot to eat for for the tame prices on thw wraps balanced with how fresh all the food is and such great quality. The breads are hand made in store which is an incredible addition to a wonderful meal. Minimal seating in side and not a ‘white table cloth’ restaurant. Didn’t allow me to have tap water but when I asked for Tea they gave me Afghan tea on the house so I loved it! Super place

The first time we ordered bread from them, there was a language barrier because we wanted to take ten loaves but received only four. The bread wasn't made very well either. However, the second time, the bread was perfect. Indeed, it was wonderful bread.

Very delicious but very expensive. Shawarma is 11 pounds 😡 Bread is a small grain, 1 pound 😡 Free tea, they charge you 1 pound 😡😡 One time my friend and I had dinner and he said it was 29 pounds The account came out approximately 17 pounds less 😡😡

Hello all ! I Cannot recommend this place enough its a real hidden gem in Brighton ATM and I am writing this review after my second meal here which was just as delicious as the first time ! I had a chicken shish wrap with all the salad ( chicken was so delicious!!!) I loved watching them make the bread and you can tell its all fresh and home made real zingy flavours and crunchy textures great portions and excellent value for money (wrap is £7.95) . When I first came across Zafron I was walking past at lunchtime on a Saturday and it was full of lots of people .... I think you can tell a place is good if you see people on their own eating a meal - A welcoming atmosphere , very relaxed so perfect for eat in or take away , the huge plates of rice and lamb shanks looked delicious it's real home cooking , big portions a great hot meal , just what you want ! Thank you to the lovely people who worked there for a great mean and the gifted Baklava ! Shall be bringing some more friends through soon :) Julie X

I went for the mixed kebab (chicken and kobeda). Previously I have gone for the kabuli palouw. Both awesome! Very good quality food. Good service. This place gets very busy with people queuing up in the evening as it has a small seating capacity, so go early.

First time visit. Wanted a bite to eat and a catch-up with a friend. As we walked in, all the meat looked so good we knew whatever we chose would be good. I had the Afghan lamb kebab, and my friend, the chicken. The meat was so tender and the rice so light and fluffy. Not only was the meal excellent value but we even recieved a free Persian tea. So nice to feel welcome and not rushed even on a busy Saturday. Can't recommend highly enough. Will definitely be back.

For a moment, I just felt I was at home. That says a lot for someone studying in the UK. Literally a taste of home.

Yesterday, we placed our first takeaway order in person, and I was impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant felt. The portions were generous, and the naan bread was fresh and tasted amazing. However, we ordered the Bamieh Stew and, while the flavor was excellent, I was surprised that it didn’t contain any okra at all – not even one piece. This left me wondering if Afghan-style okra stew is typically made without okra. We also ordered the Shish with French fries instead of rice, but unfortunately, they forgot to make that substitution. My daughter wasn’t very happy about that. Despite these hiccups, we enjoyed the food overall and plan to return soon for a dine-in experience, which I’m sure will offer a richer and more immersive experience.

Best kebab in Brighton! We've eaten most things on the menu and it's all been great. The lamb shank is phenomenal. Family mixed grill is great quality and value for money, 3 of us couldn't finish it.

Delicious Bukhari cuisine 10 mins from Brighton station. Incredibly authentic and flavourful. Would recommend anyone that is in the area to try it! I recommend the aubergine starter with naan.

Cheap and very delicious restaurant

Lovely meal for 10 people and the staff were so accommodating of our large group. One of our party has a peanut allergy and they were very helpful in regards to this. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the chicken shish and the chelo kebab koobedeh. We were even offered complimentary tea at the end of the meal. Thank you! 😊

I came in alone on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was moderately crowded. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating though, and found a table for me in short order. The gentleman taking my order recommended the lamb chops, and wow was he right! Absolutely delicious! The rice was very good as well, but the lamb chops stole the show. I absolutely will be back next the time I’m in Brighton, and I’ll bring co-workers along. The restaurant is just a bit “worn” looking, but every other aspect (staff, food and price) was great. The chicken shawarma has rave reviews and I can’t wait to try it.

Really enjoyed my time at Zafron. The service and food was 10/10.

Genuinely terrible customer service, was made to wait 30 mins just to overhear that they had run out of the kebab I had already paid for. When I approached them they other to change mine and said it would be next but I then waited another 10 mins and for 3 people who had ordered around 20 mins after me. No care or apology shown by any of the staff.

Qabili palaw was so delicious with the lamb shank cooked to perfection and spiced well and a good portion of rice. Bimeyeh was a bit disappointing and does not have much salt or flavour maybe a one off mistake. But overall the food was quite filling and good.
