Zafran in Croydon

The food is amazing, the staff are great, always happy to help, there is a mixture of takeaways and sit in, we use both. Would highly recommend this resturant to anyone, and often do.

Extremely impolite staff. I was returning from a summer evening run so appreciate I wasn't suited and booted. However I have done take aways from there a few times and as such the 2 members of staff know me for a returning customer. The courtesy, or lack thereof, was absolutely appalling to say the least. Both of them need an urgent crash course in hospitality. The way they waived me away, cursing foul words in their native language, as if I were tramp, is hard to digest. Clearly indicative of a lack of basic education, and in the current volatile socio-political climate, this Bangladeshi restaurant masquerading as Indian would do well to acknowledge where they have set up shop. BTW the food, from previous takeaways is tolerable, but there are better choices at 5 min distance.

Went here for a meal with the family. There was only one other big table in there and they were happily eating ( not requiring attention) but we were neglected and had to actually call someone over to take our order. Ordered a vindaloo but it tasted like a normal chicken curry with no spice to it. Rice portion was very small. I didn't feel that there was any love put into the dishes. They could easily have been something I got from the supermarket. We won't be returning again unfortunately, which is a shame as there are not many Indian restaurants on Addiscombe.

Me and a friend of mine who is a curry Nutter ie eats it 4 time a week and like it Hot , ate there last night Saturday, the place is a real Dump , with paint peeling off the walls , no table cloths, No blow dryer in the gents or hand towels either cold water no hot , nibbles were standard run of the mill , main dish was really enjoyable, keens rice was ok , bread was nice and fresh , beer is well over priced , as was the main dishes at nearly a ten each dish , small chunks of mate and not a lot of it so over all it’s ok but won’t be going back again.
