Yumn Brasserie in Croydon

Really lovely spacious place. We were a group of 8 and we all felt comfortable and the service was great. The cocktails were well thought out with a selection of both regulars as well as their own inventions and the Mocktails were not just an afterthought, they were also fab. The food was nice, well presented fusion experience and catered for both meat eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians and the portions were not overbearing.

Amazing food. Quality and service excellent. Cheese souffle outstanding. Fillet steaks cooked perfectly. Really enjoyable meal. Thank you for accommodating us so late on easter sunday.

Tasty, good portion sizes. The souffle and mousses are delicious, and staff are great. I was expecting to see the set menu (different ones are shown online), but there wasn't one in the night.

Everything was great except someone came with a dog and it was abit startling with them barking sometimes while I was eating. The service by the staff was top class. Vince was fab! He did a great job and kept us entertained. Honestly had a good night with my mate. The seating is very nice. The mocktails are fab too. The food was perfectly cooked. They brought my rump steak out on a proper cutter with the fries and I was happy with that. No other restaurant has done this and wish more would. They knew exactly what to give for certain types of meat too. I will definitely be back to hear the live music.

Excellent night out. Food was wonderful. Went her for a birthday dinner. In total our party was 18 people. Portion size was really good, staff was very friendly only one waiter was a tad slow i.e. took an order for drinks and he and the deink never turned up again! But that not an issue.

Went for birthday meal and whilst a bit pricey was definitely above average quality Decent portion sizes Odd that they can’t leave a jug of tap water on the table …but that was my only minor complaint … Would revisit

We had a very tasty dinner here. It’s my second or third visit and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. The food is very tasty although I’m sure I have the same thing every time!! Their cocktails are also delicious and the overall ambiance of the place is quality. Good spot for a date or dinner with friends. I’ll undoubtedly visit again.

This restaurant is really lovely. Everything from the minute you walk through the door is welcoming and cheerful. Food and service is spot on. My only criticism is the lobster is not on the menu atm and the gap between courses could be a little longer. But I love ❤️this restaurant and I am super fussy!

Went with my husband for my birthday dinner the waitress was not welcoming the menu we saw on line they did not have what we ordered wasn't what we expected KFC would be better 29 pounds for each dinner doesn't worth it not happen 😕 the restaurant was dark I couldn't take any pictures reception was bad my husband asked the Lady why the menu we saw on line not available she said it will update soon. So please don't follow the on line menu it is false I wouldn't go back there.

We were celebrating a Bridal Shower on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024 and a group of 25 or more. I found the attitude of the Waitress and Waiter (especially the waitress) assigned to us very rude, unfriendly and abrupt! The worse customer service I have received in a long time! A lot of people in out group ordered steak that came with chips, no sauces were offered with the chips when we asked for ketchup, the look we were given, you'll think we were asking for a free drink! Considering the amount of money we spent as a big group, you can atleast coach your waiters to be more friendly and accommodating! It was my first visit and certainly LAST!

I used their private dining service for a surprise dinner and it was amazing. The staff were incredibly helpful in organising the dinner, it was a seamless process. All communications were with Faisal who was great help and ensured we had the best time. The set menu had a great range of options. The decor in the private dining room was amazing and the food was lovely. I 100% would recommend.

Really special place. They catered for my allergies and went over and above, even creating a dessert off menu to cater for them. Service was excellent and Faisal (sorry if misspelt) was really great, checking each dish with the chef to bring a menu I could pick from. Food was unbelievably nice and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be coming here again and can highly recommend for people with allergies or dietary restrictions who can feel safe here. 10/10 cannot fault this place

Where do I begin! I can’t thank Yumn enough for the spectacular service they provided myself and family. I booked the private room for my daughter’s birthday. We had 16 guests. The food was amazing! Beautifully presented and so tasty. The decor to die for so so so beautiful. Great for capturing amazing pictures. I highly recommend this place for all your special occasions. It’s honestly so beautiful. Can’t wait for future bookings with yumn. Thank you to the whole team for giving us a special time at yumn. I love yumn! Lastly you can play your own music 👌🏾

We were served by the most beautiful young lady named Christina, she was so professional in every way.

Very it for a Friday night only an handful of tables taken, but this did mean we had a long dinner and where not rushed which was nice. Would go back food and service was good.

Service & atmosphere were good. The scallop starter was good but the beef cheek and mash were unbearable. The beef cheek tasted old and dry and the gravy couldn’t save it from whatever they did to it.

The food was nice but the front of house / bartender was so rude . When we entered we were only guest … had booked online and told them in was a birthday …… the man / bartender / front of house seemed put out that we where there 15minutes early …. Empty restaurant……. Menus can not be read the are printed on home computer and when we asked for help we were told we had bad eyes ….. then asked if he could read them to us …. Ice cold stare …. I went outside in order to read menu ( the other 6 guest that turned up couldn’t read them either) the young women that served us rolled her eyes when we said we had sent a request online for lobster …. Apparently they don’t read the email either so disappointed….. we ate our meal and had two drinks …. £116 ! We left with in an hour ………. With our bad eyes and very deflated Happy 40th birthday….. I think not

Came for a private event on a 3 course set menu. The food was nice, but I do not think worth the £36 per person rate. It was overpriced. A deposit is taken at the time of booking of £10 per person. It is better if you book, just to pay the whole amount per person there are then - see reasons below. We were advised that service charge is mandatory for our meal prior to the event. This was accepted and happily paid by all in the party for the food, however the settling of the food bill was extremely long winded as it is not easily recognised who had what, if the server was to come into the private room and take payment. Eventually our party went to the bar till to pay. As the drinks bill was to be settled, we were then advised that drinks would be subject to a service charge and this would be mandatory also. We asked at the bar whether service charge would have been added on if we had got to the bar, to then we were informed that they do not take orders at the bar! The restaurant has made it very clear if you get a drink in the restaurant, you will be charged service as well, as they do not give the option for you to collect your own drinks. In conclusion, overpriced, mandatory service charge imposed and poor working out of the bill in the end - disappointment.

We had a 3:30pm sitting on a Sunday. The atmosphere was good,not noisy or riotousley busy. So we enjoyed the ambuance and conversations without fighting with back ground noises. The meals were beautifully presented, and the flavours, and taste was delicious & delightful. There was a set 3 course Sunday menu,or you chose al a carte. We had 2 "Atlantic Wild Prawn Tempura" starters,and it was an exciting start to the main course. Flavourful,and spicy,without been hot, with a hint of ginger on a bed of baby spinach. 🤤🤤 The main cours of "Monk Fish & Tiger Prawn Curry" was heavenly. 😍😍😍 The other members in our party had various meat dishes for their main,which they thoroughly enjoyed. The service,and attention we got was exemplary. 👌🏿 Everyone said the "Sticky Toffee Pudding" was the best ever. 😋

The food was lovely.Although, the reason I am writing this review is because I was eating my food and in a blink of an eye one of the Staff had brushed past my chair nudged it he just walked to his destination and did not apologise.I was utterly shocked that this happened. I got the tempura prawns for the starter which were lovely and the prawns with the kimchi rice with broccolini for my main which was also very good. 3 stars because my main came late and was waiting while the rest of our party was eating, however they did compensate by giving me a portion chips, sweet potato fries and an additional portion of broccolini. The sticky toffee pudding was okay but the Asda extra special is better… For me and my husband the 3 course set menu came to a whopping £81 which in this cost of living crisis is too expensive and over priced!

Had an amazing service here on Mother’s Day, it’s also good to see local businesses doing great 😊 staff was friendly but prompt and timely with orders. Food was delicious 🤤 compliments to the chef. Overall had a good evening with excellent service!

We came here for my mothers 60th birthday and the service and food was both amazing. We had Cristina as our waitress and she was fantastic I can’t praise her enough. They even brought out a little cheesecake with happy birthday written on it which was really lovely of them. I will definitely be coming back here again. The mock tails was amazing I had the one with raspberry and pomegranate it was amazing. My siblings had lychee one which was nice but I don’t like lychee much. The food portion was good. I ordered the monk fish which was great. My sister ordered the crispy prawn with kimchi rice and omg that was amazing. I would definitely get that next time I go. There was 7 of us and the bill came for £290 including three mock tails and water. Thanks again Yumn for making the experience memorable and thank you Cristina for your lovely service.

I enjoyed a really fabulous dining experience here recently. Entered to find an impressively comfortable room with lovely seating. Received a warm and hospitable welcome from the manager, Faisal, which set the standard for the attentive and friendly service we received throughout a great dinner. The food was well presented and tasted deliciously first class. A great restaurant which you must try when in Croydon. I'm looking forward to returning.

First time visiting Yumn and everything about it was fabulous. Amir could not have been more attentive, he gave us wine to taste to help decide which we wanted, we didn't order desert but had told him it was a birthday dinner and he brought out a cheesecake desert with 'happy birthday' beautifully written on the plate, without any prompting. The setting and food were great, the people and service were amazing. Will definitely be going back.

There was 5 of us that ate here on New Year's eve, it was pretty busy, but the service,atmosphere and food was excellent. Our waiter was very good, he was very attentive without being over the top, and the cocktails was very nice. Overall it was very good.

We booked for an early dinner on NYE, which meant it wasn’t to busy. The staff were attentive and welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed and lovely. I’d read a review somewhere that recommended the Pear Old Fashioned cocktail ( made with vodka not whisky) which was fabulous!! We had the crispy feta focaccia which I couldn’t get enough of, to delicious. Followed by the Jospeh grill combo, totally delicious, the meat was tender and tasty and the chips, well soooooo good. My husband had the beef cheek which disappeared from his plate pretty sharpish. We finished by sharing the sticky toffee pudding which didn’t disappoint. A lovely evening and will definitely be back. I have been a frequent customer at Yumn Brasserie for many years one year actually getting food poisoning from this restaurant due to the chicken which was not cooked properly. However as the manager has been very nice I have always come back due to myself being a Croydon local I enjoy helping out local business. On recent occasion as you can see from the photos I booked today for 2:15pm. I was running late made several calls and went on the chat to let them know I was running late and if there was a grace period. I ended up getting to the restaurant 10 mins late in the end. Once I got there I was greeted by a woman and gentleman. The woman said you must leave we are closing. I stated look at my booking the man tried to look on the system as again the woman tried to usher us out the restaurant. As I have worked in customer service I said to them hey let’s just come to the agreement there could have been something wrong with bookings on your side and let me re-book to celebrate the new year in with my family. She said I am not too sure the gentleman looked at the bookings and said we can squeeze you in. Then the manager walked in I explained the situation and the bad customer service and he said well do you want the booking then? I thought personally this was very bad customer service as the manager knows we are locals and we come to this restaurant every year to support their business. He could have made things right by offering us a complimentary drink or discount on our food. Unfortunately, I will not be dining here again. And Yumn Beasserie has lost me as a customer due to the level of service.

We’d visited a few years ago and the food wasn’t good, however we needed somewhere to meet before Christmas and Yumn had availability. The food was really good. They must have a new chef. No complaints. Nice photos attached. Why three stars then? Well our one, and very important, complaint was the ridiculously and unnecessarily loud music. Ridiculous because it’s not a nightclub. Unnecessary because it’s not a nightclub. We were straining to talk, hear and make ourselves understood. We asked one of the servers if the music could be turned down, but it wasn’t. I understand they were trying to keep groups of Christmas parties happy as well as couples and people who just wanted a good meal, but loud Christmas music in a restaurant that sells itself as a ‘fine dining experience’? Hmmmmm….. no.

We had our Christmas team lunch here. From the booking to the actual meal, we had a very good experience. Our server was Christina who was attentative, friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place for a meal or drinks. Enjoy!

We hired the private room for my Husband's birthday, and the service of this establishment was wonderful from start to finish. All of the staff were so accommodating and helpful with everything, from decorations, to things being delivered direct to the venue, cake/balloons etc... Their process of taking orders prior to the event was simple, painless and effective. The food was delicious, the drink selection was fabulous - go on, try their Pear Old Fashioned - the venue and private room are gorgeous, and the value was fantastic. Everyone commented on the how good the food and service was and our bunch isn't an easy bunch to please at all. Would definitely use this establishment again.

Only complaint I have got with this place is that I stupidly hadn’t been there sooner. Impeccable service (thanks Christina!) superb drinks menu and food was pure perfection. My scallops to start and beef cheek main were sublime. Super-smart decor and grown up ambiance all added to the experience. Seriously, go. Just go. You will not regret it.

Yumn is a fabulous restaurant. My wife and I have dined here a few times now and on every occasion we have been treated superbly well. Christina was our waitress on Saturday evening and she was fantastic, and the waiter who served us back in September even remembered us too. Great service.The fillet steaks are worth every penny, cocktails are great, and we even got a surprise birthday treat. Thank you so much, one of the best places to eat in Croydon.

Fantastic place. It is essentially one of Croydon's top end restaurants and the food prices reflect that. However the food is delicious, the service is excellent, the decor is very nice and the cocktails are actually reasonably priced and well presented. Great for special occasions or a cheeky cocktail. They went through a phase of fancy indian dishes in the past but the new menu has excellent variety, although I wish they'd bring the old duck burger back 🙂. We had the aperol spritz, elderflower heaven, cheese souffle, crispy chicken, sea bass, sticky toffee and snickers cheesecake, all of which were excellent.
