Yumn Brasserie in Croydon

I have visited Maple three times now. Service & food is amazing. Last time I visited, I ordered the buttermilk chicken thigh & brioche - it was delicious. The quality of the coffee is on another level. I am so pleased this place has opened in Sanderstead - I will definitely be visiting again!

Visited today for brunch, ordered the lebneh toast with a side of Yorkshire sausage. It arrived and the toast was bread, cold and not toasted, missing the lebneh, this was then changed, my sausage arrived, it was dry and cold, I asked what meat it was and was informed it was beef. No where on the menu did it state that the sausage wasn't pork, I don't eat beef and made this point to the waiter who responded with "we've had lots of complaints, I've told the owners to update the menu" Firstly, all ingredients would be clearly stated in the menu, secondly if a customer complains at least be receptive and acknowledge the complaint, one of the came over and reluctantly apologised but still expected us to pay for the sausage and the tip. Poor service, lack of understand when serving meat which hasn't been clearly stated in the menu, will not be visiting again.

Great ambience ! Though poor quality of food and service. My burger was rare cooked and dripping blood which is rear 😂. Meat was full fat doubt it's wagyu beef ... Not impressed

Popped in for coffee to look at restaurant to check poss have a meal there one day but after being charged over two pounds service charge on meal for just coffee ☕️ and coffee was cold to so I will not be going their again

It was my dad's 60th and we booked to go here Sunday to celebrate and of course support a new business that's just opened in our village. I made the booking on 24th December and i received an email on Sunday (the day of the booking) at 12.30pm. They called to ask if we can bring the booking forward to 4pm to allow time for the kitchen as a party of our size they would usually take a pre order. I advised this wasn't enough notice and best i could do would be 4.30pm. After i stepped foot in the restaurant, we were the only table booking and it was evident they were trying to bring the reservation forward so they could go home! A lot of food options were not available on the menu, mainly the seafood so our choices were limited. However, the food i did order was OK. The chicken Milanese was cooked from scratch and the chips were delicious. The scallops were full of flavour but the dish was going luke warm. When it came to desert we were advised the kitchen closes at 5 and we couldn't order anything. We had a birthday cake but a few of the party wanted a pudding but the option was taken away from us. This should have been mentioned sooner, equally i am not sure why they take bookings for 5pm if the kitchen closes then anyway! My friend also booked to eat there for her birthday one evening in January and they called to cancel her booking the day before as they were closing for the evenings. Just not very good management or service for a new restaurant that would welcome the support from the locals. To recap, the food was fine just annoying we didn't have full choice of the menu but given it was such a special occasion we celebrated, the service really let them down and we will now be going somewhere as we feel like the day wasn't up to par.

1st time visiting this resturant since it opened in mid-December ‘24. They have repurposed a lot of Google reviews from their former resturant called YUMN in central Croydon which is misleading. The resturant is very contemporary in design and had a good atmosphere. Pleasant staff, but not enough of them. They seemed overwhelmed at the number of visitors. Details like getting drinks orders wrong, not replacing cutlery after they cleared away starters so we had to ask for them when the mains were served and paper napkins (it annoys us). Menu is small, but that can be a good thing. We enjoyed our food, but it was warm not hot. It felt like it had been sitting out before being served by the before mentioned overwhelmed wait staff. After getting the bill it took along time to make payment. With the Med Kitchen closed for several weeks they have a good opportunity to make their mark. Some early teething problems that they will need to overcome if they are to do well.

A shame….very underwhelming. Menu is all over the place…a random selection available on a Sunday brunch time. Very sporadic service. No mention of the sausages on the menu being beef sausages. Dry and unbuttered. Had high hopes of a nice brunch/all day dining option on the area. Sadly this didn’t meet expectations. Feel like it needs to decide what sort of place it wants to be. £6 (inc service) chocolate and banana milkshake was poor and thin and had bits in. Won’t be returning until the menu reads less erratically.

Potential but not there yet. Most of reviews here are not for sanderstead but yumm s croy. Starters scallops were great not overcooked with nice sauce and nuts. Ribeye OK not overcooked but "slow cooked beef" was just too cold as was the brocoli. Lots of talk about cold plates on reviews but I just thought it had not been heated through, maybe rushed in kitchen? Think they need to sort volume hitting kitchen causing rushed cooking. We will give it a while and try again

We have always loved coming to Yumn. It's the gem of Croydon. The food, the atmosphere, the cocktails and the some of the finest restaurant staff around have made it stand out heads above the rest. We love you Yumn! D&S x

Booked for wedding anniversary. Expected it to be very quiet for a Wednesday but it was surprisingly busy. Lots of staff waiting on so service was efficient and attentive. I asked for water and when it arrived I asked for ice and lemon. The waitress bought a plate with lemon slices on it and a bucket of ice for the table. The food was fresh, very tasty and good size portions. I had Calamari followed by steak and my husband had homemade hummus and falafel followed by tortellini ( he is vegetarian) We also had 2 glasses of wine and a coffee Would go again and already recommended to others.

Had an amazing birthday dinner with my wife. Atmosphere was very nice and food was excellent and on point. Service was exceptional. Will definitely be going again.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Croydon. It will be a massive shame if Croydon Council mafia pushes it our because of their over priced rent. The food is worthy of Michelin stars and the service is 2nd to none, especially Christina. Hope it stays open.

Faisal was really welcoming and his service was excellent and very friendly and food was delicious plus halal, which was a bonus. I don’t know if Faisal is the manager but if he’s not he should be.

My sisters and I visited Yumn on a Saturday. The food and service was impeccable. We couldn’t fault it at all. Cristina was such a lovely server she was amazing. The team as a whole were great. The food MY GOD was perfect ! Tasted beautiful. The lovely tequila rose shots at the end were a lovely touch. That you all so much for a lovely evening at YUMN we are surely returning again. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. 10/10 !!! Thanks guys x

Beautiful interior, really delicious cocktails, accommodating staff and tasty food

The food was fine, the best part were the starters and the dessert I ordered beef, it was a little bit chewy, my spouse ordered a meat buffet it was fine as well. We don't have any negative comments therefore we would go back again but try something different from their menu as well. The environment was quiet, not sure if its because it was during the week.

Simply WOW! Food 10 / 10. Service 10 / 10 and Ambiance was excellent. The music and interior was top tier. Thank you to Faisal and the team. We look forward to returning with family and friends.

Really lovely spacious place. We were a group of 8 and we all felt comfortable and the service was great. The cocktails were well thought out with a selection of both regulars as well as their own inventions and the Mocktails were not just an afterthought, they were also fab. The food was nice, well presented fusion experience and catered for both meat eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians and the portions were not overbearing.

I booked Yumn Brasserie for a birthday meal after a recommendation from a friend and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is easily accessible from East Croydon Station (by bus or on foot). The staff are professional but welcoming, our waitress was happy to share her recommendations and made sure we had all the information we needed to order. The interior of the restaurant and atmosphere are lovely, it feels like a place for an occasion. We ate from the a la carte menu. The food was delicious, great quality and presented well. The portions were reasonably sized, no one left feeling hungry. We had an early evening booking on a weekday and didn't feel rushed. We had plenty of time to reviee the menu and chat as a group between courses. They surprised us by adding a candle and "happy birthday" message to one of the desserts. It was a memorable touch to top off our meal. Overall it was a brilliant choice for celebrating a special occasion. I would highly recommend visiting.

Tasty, good portion sizes. The souffle and mousses are delicious, and staff are great. I was expecting to see the set menu (different ones are shown online), but there wasn't one in the night.

Everything was great except someone came with a dog and it was abit startling with them barking sometimes while I was eating. The service by the staff was top class. Vince was fab! He did a great job and kept us entertained. Honestly had a good night with my mate. The seating is very nice. The mocktails are fab too. The food was perfectly cooked. They brought my rump steak out on a proper cutter with the fries and I was happy with that. No other restaurant has done this and wish more would. They knew exactly what to give for certain types of meat too. I will definitely be back to hear the live music.

Excellent night out. Food was wonderful. Went her for a birthday dinner. In total our party was 18 people. Portion size was really good, staff was very friendly only one waiter was a tad slow i.e. took an order for drinks and he and the deink never turned up again! But that not an issue.

Went for birthday meal and whilst a bit pricey was definitely above average quality Decent portion sizes Odd that they can’t leave a jug of tap water on the table …but that was my only minor complaint … Would revisit

We had a very tasty dinner here. It’s my second or third visit and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. The food is very tasty although I’m sure I have the same thing every time!! Their cocktails are also delicious and the overall ambiance of the place is quality. Good spot for a date or dinner with friends. I’ll undoubtedly visit again.

This restaurant is really lovely. Everything from the minute you walk through the door is welcoming and cheerful. Food and service is spot on. My only criticism is the lobster is not on the menu atm and the gap between courses could be a little longer. But I love ❤️this restaurant and I am super fussy!

Went with my husband for my birthday dinner the waitress was not welcoming the menu we saw on line they did not have what we ordered wasn't what we expected KFC would be better 29 pounds for each dinner doesn't worth it not happen 😕 the restaurant was dark I couldn't take any pictures reception was bad my husband asked the Lady why the menu we saw on line not available she said it will update soon. So please don't follow the on line menu it is false I wouldn't go back there.

We were celebrating a Bridal Shower on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024 and a group of 25 or more. I found the attitude of the Waitress and Waiter (especially the waitress) assigned to us very rude, unfriendly and abrupt! The worse customer service I have received in a long time! A lot of people in out group ordered steak that came with chips, no sauces were offered with the chips when we asked for ketchup, the look we were given, you'll think we were asking for a free drink! Considering the amount of money we spent as a big group, you can atleast coach your waiters to be more friendly and accommodating! It was my first visit and certainly LAST!

I used their private dining service for a surprise dinner and it was amazing. The staff were incredibly helpful in organising the dinner, it was a seamless process. All communications were with Faisal who was great help and ensured we had the best time. The set menu had a great range of options. The decor in the private dining room was amazing and the food was lovely. I 100% would recommend.

Really special place. They catered for my allergies and went over and above, even creating a dessert off menu to cater for them. Service was excellent and Faisal (sorry if misspelt) was really great, checking each dish with the chef to bring a menu I could pick from. Food was unbelievably nice and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be coming here again and can highly recommend for people with allergies or dietary restrictions who can feel safe here. 10/10 cannot fault this place

Where do I begin! I can’t thank Yumn enough for the spectacular service they provided myself and family. I booked the private room for my daughter’s birthday. We had 16 guests. The food was amazing! Beautifully presented and so tasty. The decor to die for so so so beautiful. Great for capturing amazing pictures. I highly recommend this place for all your special occasions. It’s honestly so beautiful. Can’t wait for future bookings with yumn. Thank you to the whole team for giving us a special time at yumn. I love yumn! Lastly you can play your own music 👌🏾

We were served by the most beautiful young lady named Christina, she was so professional in every way.

Very it for a Friday night only an handful of tables taken, but this did mean we had a long dinner and where not rushed which was nice. Would go back food and service was good.

We had the calamari, pardon peppers and focaccia as appetisers. The padron peppers were delicious, the focaccia was ok and the calamari was nice too. Crispy prawn main was very nice. The spinach and ricotta tortellini was pleasant -just needed seasoning. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious and the sorbet was lovely and refreshing after a creamy main. Drinks were lovely. The bartender made us a dragonfruit cocktail which was amazing. Christina was attentive and friendly. Great service. Very enjoyable dinner.

Great place, Very nice food, will visit again

Service & atmosphere were good. The scallop starter was good but the beef cheek and mash were unbearable. The beef cheek tasted old and dry and the gravy couldn’t save it from whatever they did to it.

The food was nice but the front of house / bartender was so rude . When we entered we were only guest … had booked online and told them in was a birthday …… the man / bartender / front of house seemed put out that we where there 15minutes early …. Empty restaurant……. Menus can not be read the are printed on home computer and when we asked for help we were told we had bad eyes ….. then asked if he could read them to us …. Ice cold stare …. I went outside in order to read menu ( the other 6 guest that turned up couldn’t read them either) the young women that served us rolled her eyes when we said we had sent a request online for lobster …. Apparently they don’t read the email either so disappointed….. we ate our meal and had two drinks …. £116 ! We left with in an hour ………. With our bad eyes and very deflated Happy 40th birthday….. I think not

The food is of outstanding quality, very similar to central London top dining venues. The service is great and very friendly.

Came for a private event on a 3 course set menu. The food was nice, but I do not think worth the £36 per person rate. It was overpriced. A deposit is taken at the time of booking of £10 per person. It is better if you book, just to pay the whole amount per person there are then - see reasons below. We were advised that service charge is mandatory for our meal prior to the event. This was accepted and happily paid by all in the party for the food, however the settling of the food bill was extremely long winded as it is not easily recognised who had what, if the server was to come into the private room and take payment. Eventually our party went to the bar till to pay. As the drinks bill was to be settled, we were then advised that drinks would be subject to a service charge and this would be mandatory also. We asked at the bar whether service charge would have been added on if we had got to the bar, to then we were informed that they do not take orders at the bar! The restaurant has made it very clear if you get a drink in the restaurant, you will be charged service as well, as they do not give the option for you to collect your own drinks. In conclusion, overpriced, mandatory service charge imposed and poor working out of the bill in the end - disappointment.

We had a 3:30pm sitting on a Sunday. The atmosphere was good,not noisy or riotousley busy. So we enjoyed the ambuance and conversations without fighting with back ground noises. The meals were beautifully presented, and the flavours, and taste was delicious & delightful. There was a set 3 course Sunday menu,or you chose al a carte. We had 2 "Atlantic Wild Prawn Tempura" starters,and it was an exciting start to the main course. Flavourful,and spicy,without been hot, with a hint of ginger on a bed of baby spinach. 🤤🤤 The main cours of "Monk Fish & Tiger Prawn Curry" was heavenly. 😍😍😍 The other members in our party had various meat dishes for their main,which they thoroughly enjoyed. The service,and attention we got was exemplary. 👌🏿 Everyone said the "Sticky Toffee Pudding" was the best ever. 😋

We regularly visit Yumn brasserie. The food is always of high quality, well presented and the menu even when changed sounds enticing and never fails to deliver. The staff are very warm and welcoming and often checking to make sure you are comfortable, the food is up to expectation and your drinks are topped up. The restaurant is open and has a lovely warm and relaxed ambience. It’s really a gem in the Croydon area and worth a visit from all sides of London. Definitely recommend Yumn Brasserie to anyone thinking of visiting. Enjoy

The food was lovely.Although, the reason I am writing this review is because I was eating my food and in a blink of an eye one of the Staff had brushed past my chair nudged it he just walked to his destination and did not apologise.I was utterly shocked that this happened. I was really offended. Apart from that, it was a well - settled restaurant .

If you like Bougie, this is the place to go. The food is always delicious and the staff are attentive. The lychee martini is gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere.

A stunning beautiful restaurant with very professional and attentive staff. Gorgeous mocktails and wonderful menu. My only thing is that my main wasn’t that flavoursome and it was meant to have pesto but instead came with a balsamic finish (corn fed chicken with ratatouille). The sticky toffee pudding was a little dry and Brest and didn’t really have any dates which are a key part of this dish. The scallops starter was delicious and unusual and the rest of the orders were excellent. Definitely a party, corporate or date night venue.

The restaurant is very stylish and the quality of the food and service is extremely good. Special thanks to Cristina, who made lots of good recommendations from the menu and improved the quality of our evening.

Good food very tasty although starter was out way too quick to be fresh so could tell the difference from the first time I had the soufflé. Overall great service maybe a bit rushed at times and lots of waiter interruptions to conversations. Still the best local place for this food type!

Such a lovely evening, celebrating my partners birthday. Amir and Faisal were great! Super attentive, amazing service, food was brought out promptly and was delicious! Will definitely be back and have already recommended to family and friends. Can confidently say it was worth the 2.5hours round trip! :)
