Great Japanese food in Chelsea. (Thanks so much for all the years of it!)

Small and comfortable atmosphere. A bit far from the nearest tube. Got the steamed seabass, and it was excellent.

Really great sushi and also tasty fish or meat mains. The staff is very lovely. This is a new gem (recently changed owner) on Fulham road and one of the only and in my opinion best Sushi places in the area. If you are a Japan fan you will love the Sakura painting on the wall.

Good food. We had the best cheesecake 🫶🏻 Sashimi was fresh too!!!

I was glad and still am that I spent my 50th at Yumenoki. The place and staffs are so glamorous, the food is great. Thank you so much Yumenoki.

Extremely tasty Japanese food and very friendly service. We visited the restaurant during a short holiday in London. It was so good that we went straight back the next day.

I used Uber Eats to order the following - the cost was £44.50 inc delivery: Sashimi (3 pieces of each): * Toro sasimi x 3 * Ikura salmon roe sashimi x 3 * Uni sea urchin sashimi x 3 * Miso soup x 1 * Salad x 1 * Dorayaki x 1 What I actually received bore no relation to my order: * Tuna nigiri x 1 (instead of the 3 that I ordered) This is nigiri (on rice and so not sashimi) and it was not toro but ordinary cheap tuna which didn’t smell great either * Ikura salmon roe x 1 (instead of the 3 that I ordered) * Sea urchin x 2 (instead of the 3 that I ordered) * Miso soup x 1 * Salad x 1 * A pink rice cake which is not dorayaki When I look at their Uber Eats listing after the order arrived, there was no dorayaki or even rice cake advertised but there was ice cream-filled mochi as the only dessert option. So they obviously just send stuff out that bears no relation to what was ordered. They clearly think that their customers don't know what they've ordered so just send anything out and hope people don’t complain. I received a refund from Uber Eats and the meal was put into the bin.

Lovely Japanese restaurant on Fulham Road. Nothing to complain about. Service was attentive and quick, the food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was lovely. While I was there they were playing bossa nova which created a calming environment. I got the deluxe salmon teriyaki bento and it was delicious! Would recommend. The table next to us had a dog, so they are also dog-friendly!

I found it highly irregular to be given a scrappy piece of paper with bank details and asked to pay my food bill by bacs payment to an individual’s name. Seriously, would you log onto the internet and make a banking transaction on your mobile phone in a public place to pay a restaurant bill? When I questioned that it was very irregular for a restaurant to ask for payment by bacs, I was met with the waitress saying “did I not mention we only take bacs or cash?” I said no you forgot to mention that bit. She then brought the card machine which had not been working all day and it suddenly worked - wallah! Food was very average and venue lacking atmosphere. I will not be going back.

Yumenoki is a cosy family run Japanese restaurant, they are very sweet people. The place is small, cosy and feels very homey. The food is tasty and authentic and very well priced. Loved the katsudon which was yummy and huge. My husband had the bento which is amazing value at 20 pounds it comes with starter, dessert, miso soup and was both beautiful and delicious. Kirin and asahi is available by the bottle and house sake by the carafe at very good prices

Decades ago we used to eat here regularly, as it was the nearest Japanese restaurant. Attending an event at the nearby Picturehouse, we looked forward to revisiting at long last. We entered to a light perfume of rancid fat and it did not get better from there. There were no Japanese staff. The room was cold and never warmed up. The deep fried battered items were nicely done but the tempura “dip” a bad joke. Fukujinzuke, a pickle intended for Japanese curries, was out of place in all the “deluxe” bentos (£20). The other pickle was OK but again not the usual one used for bentos. The rice was not Japanese nor even an adequate replacement. The salad was OK but the sashimi was missing and some slimy vegetables replaced this. A disappointment.

Fantastic dinner with great food, service and atmosphere. We shared sushi and hotpots. The service was lovely and efficient and food was incredibly fresh and authentic. Will be back :)

Very bad service. Or no service at all? We ordered a food and were waiting for at least half an hour. Whilst serving other tables and giving food for deliveries stuff just ignored us even when we said that we’re waiting for our order as well. After half an hour we just left a place and went to another one for a dinner. We haven’t been asked why we’re leaving or something

Very simple place with cheap interior. In one of the reviews a few years ago, someone complained about the music, since then nothing seems to have changed. Music plays from a TV, which is watched by the owners or employees of the establishment. I’m not sure that they needed to be in the common room, but they didn’t bother us, and on the contrary, they created some kind of homely comfort. The food is very tasty. The prices are different from those in the photos on Google, they have risen a little, but still remain small compared to restaurants in Chelsea.

Good food, well presented and sensible pricing. I use Yumenoki several times a week. The tempura can be a bit oily but otherwise difficult to find much wrong.

This place is very good since it offers you a good food, service and atmosphere. I recommend coming here early because there is a thing called bento which is like a meal deal.

Quietly fine quality (Owner probably Japanese and can be enjoy the real Japanese), and very reasonable price. I recommend.

Actually a good basic Japanese restaurant serving all the basics to a good level. A pity though about the awful music!

Just by a pure chance, I came in after a visit to Chelsea Hospital. The experience was like stepping into someone home in Japan. I was not sure what to have at firat, so I decided to go for their Bento box with Slated Salmon and all the condiments. The choice was obvious, and the foods speak for themselves. The salmon was fresh, simple but mighty. In my opinion, not all can prepare Japanese rice perfectly, however, that is not the case here at this little family run restaurant. Miso soup was also quite delicious. I am a good real broth fan. And their Chicken romen tastes sooooooo good; a perfect balance between the soup and everything in a very big bowl. The only thing missing from this small restaurant in Chelsea is people. If we need to support the small local business, this place would be the best to start. FYI - A table next to me were having the large bentos, and their foods look like it come out from a Japanese food magazine. I will definitely come back. ‐-------------------------------------------- I came back the next day. Their premium Bento with Shashimi and Maki was beyond words. The two days experience makes me feel really blessed after a long day at work. Yumenoki must accept my most appreciation for such remarkable experiences in the past two days.

A truly authentic Japanese dining experience. It's like you were walking down a cobble stone road in Japan and found a delicious, family run restaurant. I was so impressed with the menu and the taste of everything we tried blew us away! I think I could easily call it the best Japanese I've eat here in London (that isn't just sushi and katsu curry), the best from my experience in Australia and up there with the top ones I've tried in Japan. Also very reasonably priced! I'm going to get it wrong as to what we had exactly but I'll try: - Agedashi Tofu (came out piping hot, tofu was so silken and soft, batter perfectly crunchy and not too thick and the dashi broth was perfect!) - Sukiyaki (my husband had this one but I tried it. Nice, simple Japanese stir-fry taste of meat and vegetables served on steamed rice). - Nabeyaki Udon soup - all I can say is that broth was spectacular! Same broth apparently for both this soup and the tempura soup, but if you try it you'll understand why! The udon noodles were thick and delicate, and it was served with shitake mushrooms, tempura prawn, chicken and a delicately poached egg inside. Next time I'll take photos! Oh and they had ShabuShabu on the menu for those looking (£45) - not sure if per person or not but I definitely want to try on a cold winter's day!

I had a ramen, they can do it either with udon or soba. I had soba. It was grey and not curly and quite bland - I don't think it soaks up the broth well. So I'll have udon next time! Also they don't do ramen with beef or pork, only chicken and prawn.

Ordered chirashi sushi bowl for lunch. The portion was pitiful. Only 4 small pieces of sashimi (one piece each of salmon, tuna, sea bass, and mackerel). Terrible for the money you pay!

Am incredibly pleased with the overall experience here. I particularly enjoyed the tofu starter which was accompanied by a great broth and the udon noodle soup which was rich with flavour. The service was prompt, friendly and helpful in suggesting food. The decor was also lovely with beautiful japanese decorations!

Overall, the portion for everything is small. The salmon was very small and taste bad. The katsu chicken is prepared with low quality ingredients. I think the bento is only for snacking.

Lovely little place with authentic food and kind owners. Discovered it by chance on an evening walk around the area. Had lunch there the following two days and loved it. Hope to go back there for more one day!

I'm guessing covid has taken its toll on footfall, hence why this place isn't as full as it should be, but I've been here several times and the food is just excellent, as well as the service being personable and friendly.

Gyozas looked and tasted horrible. Chicken teriyaki tasted below average and didn't even come with rice, instead came with a few lettuce leaves. Order was expensive and delivery was slow. Don't recommend

I specifically requested that my vegetarian sushi be kept separate from the fish sushi. I am a vegetarian, but my husband was not. They were in the same container touching each other. So gross. Completely ruined for me. Order was also over 30 minutes late, and the edamame I ordered was cold. Awful.

I went to this place with my boyfriend, he is very cute, the prices are relatively low, and for that you cannot expect the best fish in the market but I am very pleased, the very kind staff really make a difference, thank you

Only come if you can spare the time. After a long wait, I was scolded by staff pointing out it was a Restaurant and not a fast-food joint. The salad was tiny and the lettuce looked cheap and had the core and bottom of the plant (see photo). In a city like London where people's time is so precious a timespan of waiting should be advised before people sit.

Food was cold and fairly tasteless. Won't be trying them again.

Fabulous little place ran by two Japanese sisters. Very good for an inexpensive Japanese meal served with a smile.

I'm so happy to get chicken katsudon done properly! So difficult to find. It was lucky I was at home in time, it was delivered way too early though, which wasn't the best.

We ordered our lunch through the website. The card was debited but our food never arrived. We call 10 times for 1 hour no one picked up the phone. We had to go to the restaurant were we waited another 30 minutes. Apparently it was closed (website hours saying it s open). Luckily there was a waitress inside and opened the door. This restaurant costed us money and 3 hours of the day. Very poor management!

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant. There was a mix up with the order which was swiftly rectified but I must say for what we got, the cost was an absolute rip-off! Would not use again!

We love this family restaurant. Long live Yumenoki, I hope the survive the food chain invasion.

We came right at the opening and were the only table at the restaurant at 5:30pm. Despite this, they made us wait 55 minutes until food was served, and only to one person. When my “deluxe” vegan box came I asked them what was so deluxe about it? They literally put sushi with fresh pepper on top and served it along with some tempura. They prioritised Deliveroo over customers although we ordered substantially. I will Never return to the place. It was the first time in my life I asked service to be taken off as I simply had none. Awful place. I will warn friends of mine from going there!

The driver did not find the address despite my giving direction notes. Worse still, they made no attempt to phone me but just returned to the restaurant who delivered the food THEMSELVES. Just eat and the driver should not be paid for this order as they did not deliver it. Abysmal.

Fresh fish - sushi and sashimi are excellent. The rolls are a bit too much of a mix-up for my taste and bites a bit big, but this may be a plus for others.

We love the nabeyoki noodles, best among japanese restaurants in London The staff is friendly and the place is clean Sushi is great too. They have a space downstairs for small gatherings and the owners are very accommodating.
