Great place for enjoying authentic Japanese pastries!

Such a cute and authentic little cafe, a great find!

Nice interior, good location. Staff was very helpful in choosing the flavours. We had black sesame and matcha tiramisu. Amazing!

It is a really cozy place, with good music, it's really peacefull and pretty. Also the service is really good, and the workers are kind. The food is amazing, it's visual is pretty and even the taste is nice.

The matcha cookie is delicious, light, not too sweet and with a chewy centre - but £4 for one is probably overpriced.

A very exquisite Japanese cake with a fresh taste. The cheesecake is soft and smooth. It is different from ordinary Western cheesecake. Highly recommended.

Super fresh mochi. Service is great. We were assisted by Reshma in selecting our cakes and her recommendations were spot o plus shed’s super sweet. Can’t recommend this place enough. The vanilla cake was super balanced and soft and overall great experience.

A really quaint and cute cafe! Visited after work and got a few cakes and a matcha latte to wind down after a long day. Reshma was really friendly, attentive and offered us her recommendation which made it a much more enjoyable experience. Everything was delicious, would come back!

A gem of Gloucester Road. I recommend their Matcha Mille Crepe Cake and mochi above all. Their Japanese desserts are made with authentic and quality ingredients.

The atmosphere in the bakery is beyond beautiful. The food and pastries adorably decorated and delicious with every bite. Also, the server was really lovely. A great experience - my favourite Japanese bakery in London.

Staff were very polite and helpful with instructions. Packing is pretty Oat matcha latte didn’t taste of matcha and pale green. Mango mochi was great and freshly made. Matcha tiramisu is a tiramisu (coffee) with matcha dusting which is disappointing.

They make their mochi fresh. Very nice staff.

This place is simply perfection. I had the matcha Mille cake and it is literally the best thing I’ve ever tasted and I’m not over exaggerating. It’s not too sweet, super light and airy, and it literally melts in your mouth in a way I never thought possible. I genuinely thought people were over exaggerating when they would describe a cake as mouth melting, but apparently not, their matcha Mille cake genuinely melts in your mouth! Also, the staff are super nice and the cafe itself is so cozy and pretty. Highly highly recommend this place.

I am a regular customer of this branch and I cannot resist the matcha mille crêpe cake. It is delicious, as is their matcha latte. They have a good selection of other cakes and drinks. All of the staff are friendly and polite.

Visited here a week ago and will definitely be back! I am a huge lover of all things Japanese, especially Matcha and desserts, and this place did not disappoint! They have a huge selection of Matcha desserts, at least 5 different items if not more, the biggest selection I have ever seen. They also have many other desserts and of course great drinks. The staff were friendly and welcoming, I enjoyed my visit. Even their bathroom is clean and beautiful, with pretty paintings all over it, showing they pay attention to the smallest details. Very happy to discover this place!

Ordered the sweet potato roll cake, matcha and strawberry mochi , mango oolong tea with popping balls. All were really nice and right level of sweetness. Will come back when I’m in the area.

Sakurado rightly has a great reputation for patisserie, which I've enjoyed before, so I was looking forward to trying the matcha bubble tea. At £7 for a regular size cup (with oatmilk) I expected to be of similarly high quality. It wasn't: the drink was bland, the tapioca hard. I've had better from regular highstreet bubble tea shops! And much better from Sakurado's peers like Kova and Tsujiri. Hopefully just an off-day but due to the price, I wanted to say something.

Came here yesterday with 6 others. Each ordered cake and drink each to have in the cafe. There's a lot to choose from, but there was a durian crepe cake that was not something you usually see. I grew up eating durian, so I was excited to try this. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. It tasted sour and not your cream cheese frosting tangy flavour, but more like it was expired sour. I approached the lady at the till and she told me that durian has a different unique flavour and the cakes were delivered that morning. I explained that I understood this and that I've had durian many times in many forms and it never tastes like this. She repeated herself again and again so I gave up and ended up not eating it as it tasted awful. The cake shop is lovely, just really let down by the reluctance to recitfy an issue I felt was met with so much unnecessary resistance. Instead of listening to me, she just kept reiterating that they came this morning. Ended up leaving with a "sour" taste in my mouth literally. Will not come back again purely because of this experience.

Great food display and packaging I had a nice cake and bubble tea but the bubbles had the wrong texture dry rather than chewy Sitting area for 10 inside a back room with nice Japanese decor 6 more in a nicely set bar plus a couple of outdoor tables.

I walked in by accident, the grapefruit cheesecake is incomparably delicious! Highly recommended! The grapefruit cheesecake is invincible and delicious! Highly recommended!

I just had a croissant, two days ago it was full of cream in the pistachio croissant. Today was very little always without creme and for a croissant that costs £7.50 almost empty it is too expensive .won't go back again

The design along of the shop is well presented and beautiful. I was drawn in straight away. I was served well and well informed of ingredients and the products I wanted. Definitely telling a friend.

I can see why people are drawn to trying mille crepe cakes especially at Sakurado. The time and effort needed to make this does set this dish apart from other desserts such as cakes and cheesecakes. Unfortunately trying this type of cake for the first time, I wasn't blown away. The flavour was pretty average. We ordered tiramisu, red velvet, chocolate with coffees at the cafe and ordered salted caramel, which was a takeaway. All of them were just fine. Red velvet was the least good. Chocolate was the best of the lot. Nonetheless I won't be trying these items nor Sakurado again. This dish isn't for me. Additionally the coffees were average. My flat white was too milky and was just drinking it with company to be polite. So for all these reasons, I would rate Sakurado as an average place.

Best Japanese cakes in town. Recommend the mochi items.

My impression is that this place uses very low quality ingredients. I tried the Matcha millefeuille cake and pretty much all you could taste was the cream and the dough which tasted like some cheap supermarket cake. It had the green Matcha colour but you couldn’t really taste the Matcha, if maybe some cheap Matcha flavouring. And my Mango bubble tea also tasted like some cheap flavoured juice with hardly any bubbles in there.. And didn’t finish half of either and still had a stomach ache later. And all that for £14.50!

I swiped my card and paid for a bag of bread, which I wanted to have for breakfast the next day. Later, I saw that it wasn’t very fresh, so I told the clerk that I didn’t want it anymore. I was still in the store, and before I left the store, the food was still sealed. I left it untouched at the checkout counter and wanted a refund, but the store firmly said no. It’s such an age to buy and sell by force. It was simply overbearing terms. So I gritted my teeth and bought a drink, which was just a few slices of canned peaches + boiled water. The price is 5.8 pounds, please avoid it.
