Lovely meal, hot food, great service

Has gone a little downhill over the last 12 months.The chicken balls are really bad now when they used to be amazing.The batter is burnt and some have hardly any chicken.Giving it a miss for quite a while now.Good job there’s lots of alternatives

Amazing food and service from the young lady on the desk!! Easy to order over the phone and collect. Food was ready when asked for a time! First time trying these. Won’t be the last!!!

The food was not cooked properly. Crispy Seaweed was soft. Veg in curry was uncooked and rock hard. Chow mein tasted lile it was cooked in a dirty pan. Very disapointed and won't go there again.

Decided to go back to Yummies after my last experience was not great and sadly it was still poor, Satay chicken undercook and very pungent I must say it didn’t even make it to the plate went straight to the bin the two curries which we also ordered was so full of MSG you couldn’t taste anything else but MSG. And after being told we would have a 25 min wait this turned into 40 min, such a shame and not a great experience.

This was once my 'go-to' for chinese when in Bideford. The food has always been exceptional and we haven't had any cause for complaint. But following a visit on sat 11th Nov we were left waiting over an hour after being given a 15-20 minute wait time. The problem was we walked in and ordered, while they prioritised phone/delivery orders over ours. I understand the problem of being over-busy but this still needs managing much better, ie: be honest with your customers, if you know you cannot complete an order within the time given, tell them, making excuses when faced with the complaint doesn't help, and it certainly isn't very professional to blame someone else within the business. Yumee it is, but fast they are not...at least not on that visit.

Freshly served dishes. Friendly staff. Easily accessible location. Our go to takeaway Chinese.

Had the best Chinese ever from here last night

Stumbled across this tucked away little gem! Just bought Yumees crispy shredded chicken Singapore rice noodles and curry chicken. All meals were cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed Yumees food. Reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Recently decided on a change from East the Water, Yumee just as good. Lovely Chinese food.

Staff are super friendly and service always quick. Very knowledgeable about allergens and have brilliant gluten free and vegan options

Super tasty Chinese. I've lived in bideford for a while but not had chance to have a takeaway from here yet but I'm glad I did. It's more favourite one now.

Tried this place a few times since moving here. Service is good and quick, but food was fairly bland each time. A little disappointing for the price.

Sad, sad post! We’ve used this takeaway many times and have never had an issue. This evening, we ordered crispy beef, Cantonese style chicken, special chow mein, chicken balls, ribs… the whole lot. Nothing was edible! Greasy, extremely dry, vinegar taste. When ringing yummee to discuss the issues, the girl who answered the phone said she would report it to the chef. No refund considered. Edited to add that someone more senior messaged to say that they did recognise me as a customer and also offered me a full refund in the form of a credit note. Hoping to be able to repost this with a “the food was amazing” post soon.

Love your food. Would be nice if we can call you for an order,but never can as I think your very busy.

I’m from Southampton down on holiday and this is one of the best Chineses iv ever had, defo best in Devon as the reviews says staff are polite and friendly ( it is expensive ) duck is 5 pound more a quarter then im use to but worth every penny, thank you

Disgusting spent £35.its the worst meal I have ever had would rather have a mc Donald's and I hate that .zero standards

Spring rolls contained a few dried out bean sprouts and nothing else, tasteless. Chicken satay dreadful, chicken was actually OK but slathered in an almost black sauce which looked and tasted horrible, had to wash it off, bore no resemblance to a peanut satay sauce. Main course edible but uninspired.

We usually choose Chicken Chow Mein. Tonight's takeaway very disappointing. Chow Mein with minuscule amount of chicken. Won't be in a rush to go back.

Great food. Bit slow on service. Average prices. Parking there. Don't bother phoning order can never get thru but worth buying food.

First time here for a takeaway, after a recommendation. It was also the last time. The chow mein and spring rolls were extremely greasy and unappetising. We both didn't like the texture of the chicken and the curry sauce wasn't as good as a supermarket brand we tried, not very nice at all. The chips were over-fried and just awful. Never again, once was enough. The only positive was that the premises looked very clean.

In my opinion, the best Chinese takeaway in Bideford, always punctual, polite staff, reasonable prices. Well worth a visit if you are hungry and in town!

Fairly disappointed with tonight's take away meal. Some was good e.g. the veg spring rolls and chow mein. The rest was not particularly nice.

Had several good meals here in last few months. Love the honey peppered chicken! Girls on till are helpful, waits never been long and food is yummeet!!

Yumee is most definitely not yummy...quite the worst Chinese we have ever had, in fact inedible! Avoid at all costs,a real waste of money.

Used yummies for the first time on Tuesday ,also used yummies for the last time on Tuesday. Beef curry probably the worst I've ever had , egg fried rice awful pretty much stuck together in a soggy block , also had chicken chow mein , no flavour in the chicken at all and the chow mein was tasteless. It's a shame because the service was excellent , but that couldn't make up for terrible food .

Egg fried rice brown and flavourless. Chicken curry horrible. Chicken has a fake texture to it and no flavor. Prawn toast okish . First and last time I use...

Rated 4.5 stars so we thought it would be nice, one of the worst Chinese meals I’ve had, prawn crackers were stale, spring rolls, well my daughter thought they were sausage in batter to start with, not sure what the filling was other than awful, sweet and sour chicken was nice, I will say that, satay chicken tasteless, like crunched up peanut on boiled bits of chicken, one item out of £67.00 of food, not good.

My favourite Chinese in bideford for sweet and sour chicken and beef chow mein. I find it has the narrowest range in quality between the 'good' and 'bad' days (I assume you have previous experience of the range of quality a takeaway can typically produce between quiet and busy days). They always state "within the hour" which is typically 20 mins but can be up to the hour on Fridays. The only negatives I have are that the phone is often busy (a testament to their popularity) and that they do not have a method of ordering online.

Really lacking in flavour and everything just seemed watered down. Wontons were almost all pastry and no filling. Would not recommend to anyone.

Our first and sadly last time. Special fried rice was brown and seemed to also have another grain to bulk it out. There was also great lumps of meat on top with gravy, the same with the chop suey. The chow mein was an odd grey colour too. Such a shame as this takeaway was recommended to us by a friend.

Just had an awful experience with Paramount around the corner from Yumees (I'm coeliac, and they wouldn't try to accommodate), so decided I won't go there anymore & will try Yumees instead. Not only were the staff really professional, even in times of COVID, but they actually have a gluten free menu. Very pleased, will be coming here from now on.

Being gluten and lactose intolerant I was amazed by the knowledge of the young lady over the phone polite pleasant friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu a rarity just hope the food tastes as good as the initial service was

For years I’ve been trying to find a takeaway that could match my mother’s cooking! Yes we had a takeaway for 30 years!! Yumee is the first takeaway that could match my mum’s cooking. The flavours were perfect!! I would definitely recommend this takeaway!!! Enjoy

So disappointed!! I can't even rate it!! We have just had a take-away delivered and most of it was inedible. The meat was bad quality and overcooked. We have always used Yummies as our Chinese take-away but not any more. What ever has changed to make this food so bad?

Best Chinese in Bideford. Staff are always very friendly & efficient. Never waited long for an order even if it’s a large one. The food is fresh & hot. Give it go, you will not be disappointed.

Me and the fam went for a nice chinese meal. It was well worth the money. I had the singapore rice noodles, my mum had the chicken fried rice and my dad had the prawn chow mein. No complaints from any of us! We will definitely return.

Squid was chewy and batter was soggy and duck chow mein big chunch of duck which tasted off and chunck of fat which was the most digusting thing iv ever eaten and won ton soup the won ton was dry inside which dont even know how that is possible to do that but congrat worst chinese i ever had .... the only thing that was alright was the spring rolls

First visit to Yumee, was impressed with the taste and quality of the food, one of my favourite Chinese takeaway experiences, unfortunately I don't live in the area so will have to wait till next visit to have another Yumee meal :)

Great Hong Kong style duck, beef curry special fried fried made to our specified order,enormous portions, very polite efficient prompt service, with Fab tasting food... Well done!

🍲My favourite Chinese in Bideford. The fact they have a downloadable menu on their website always helps as I always seem to throw the menus away. Good food and good value for money. Also the wait time for delivery seems to be far quicker than any other Chinese I've ordered from in Bideford.

I’ve had a couple of meals from here and they’ve been ok, but a little on the salty side, I mentioned this and had a replacement dish but this was no better. Tonight however, it was stunning, tasty, well balanced, seasoned to perfection. Best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in 3-4yrs (since Szechauan House closed). Well done Danny and older guys on the woks, 😄

1st time order... won't be the last. YUMEE by name and taste as far as I'm concerned. Fluffy boiled rice, amazing Mushroom Curry 🍛 A small charge of £1 if delivered but chose to pick up. Ready on arrival. Hot when got home. Really enjoyed my meal... Curry was amazing! Curtious lady on phone and arrival when picking up. Definitely a must go for take away. First 5 star rating I've given for a take away. Highly recommend trying it out.
