Such a shame the regular clientele used fowl language and it was obvious a good number of them were regular drug users.

Tucked away in a side street this gem of a place was found by us by accident as the rain was pouring down and we were looking for somewhere to shelter. Lovely manager who made us truly welcome ..great beer and even allowed us to eat our locally purchased pasties to top off giving us plates knives and forks to use. A real genuine local pub and would if visiting Bideford again drop in for a pint or 2 😃

Lively at weekend evenings and when there's sporting events on. Update edit: Since the new landlord has taken over, it has very much reverted back to being known as a cheap and cheerful pub, relying heavily upon regulars. Can get rowdy. Dogs allowed, children allowed until 9pm (but wouldn't advise staying that late as the air turns pretty blue once the locals have sank a few!). Rarely has entertainment other than sports any more. Minimal staffing (expect to wait). Security on duty Fri/Sat evenings. Does not serve food other than crisps and nuts, although if you go to the chippy next door they will let you eat that as long as you ask first, and take your rubbish with you (bins outside). Haven't seen more than one real ale on service for quite some time now. Bottle fridges rarely full apart from those on '2-fer-a-fiver' deals. Could do with a decent clean... Dated decor. Locals/regulars have 'their spots' at the bar and around the pub. Can get lively, but rarely as much as it used to.

Once a lovely pub, but not anymore. It's now a brewery owned establishment, with absolutely no allure or charm. Both the former accommodation and food are no more. Just as well if you have to see the state of the toilets! No beer garden either. It's become a rowdy "sports screen" pub, complete with louts. Never-ending turnover of "new managers" - none of who stay more than a few months. There's only *ONE* surviving Olde Worlde public house in Bideford, which is the White Hart in Queen Street, about 300 yards away.

TL;DR Bouncers broke my ID and tried to coerce my girlfriend in by herself. Me and my girlfriend walked to the door and asked to come in, bouncers asked for ID and £100 from me for entry "haha" bouncer humour we just handed over our ID's. They accept my girlfriends no problem and she goes ahead but for mine they both look it over and say "it's fake or not you in the photo" which makes no sense as it's either fake or not regardless of who's in the photo but they couldn't even tell me which it was and just fully declined me entry. Assuming at this point it might still be a "give us £100 for entry" type joke as it would be crazy idiotic to not know if something is fake or it's somebody else I ask if they're being serious to which they say they are and they threw my ID on the floor which cracked the corner and agreesively invaded my personal space in an attempt to Intimidate me. These two bouncers were gigantic oak trees of men and they were being confrontational and agressive to me whilst trying to get my girlfriend in alone and were visabiliy unhappy that she followed me away from the pub. This behavior is completely unacceptable and is just straight up bullying.

What an amazing pub. We visited the Kings Arm’s on Saturday 24th July a group of 14 men on a (cycling) stag do. We were all made so welcome by the landlord and every local person there. Great beer (Timothy Taylor) fantastic prices, great friendly people and one brilliant pub. Thanks to all who made us do welcome.

Wonderful convenient location and good atmosphere. Not so good to go as a family, but more for if you are on your own or with a group of friends and you want a drink in a lively atmosphere. They don't serve food, but they let you bring in your own, if you buy a drink of course, and it is located right next to a takeaway fish and chip shop.

Well you can't give zero can you. Visited twice; the second time as we put the landlords rudeness on our first visit down to 'one of those days'. Apparently not. If you like being ignored for 25 minutes, then being shouted at like a naughty child for asking for service then this is the pub for you. Probably not that bad if you can get him off his phone long enough to serve.

Racist staff who couldn't list more than one beer of the many they sold. I was there for twenty minutes and I can remember five. Unwelcoming atmosphere, which is of course subjective. But it's not a smiley place. It's always possible that a negative review might be anomaly to an otherwise okay establishment. However unless you are looking for a bad experience then I can say with confidence that this is a place to wholly avoid. I promise.

Overall, while the taste is good and the halal options are appreciated, the restaurant could improve by being more generous with toppings and cheese. Given their prices, they shouldn't be cutting corners on portions. This would greatly enhance the value for customers.

Super friendly staff and particularly a big shout out to the amazing Sophie who was lovely when out dog demolished a latte and coated all the outdoor tables with it. She even made us a new coffee but wouldn’t take payment. Only reason this is not 5* is it’s not dog friendly. This inconsistency is something Starbucks need to sort out!!

We have heard that a new chef is just starting work here. Perhaps this explains our sorry excuse for a meal. For the record we have had several excellent if pricey meals at this restaurant. This meal was pricey but a million miles from excellent. There was a weird-tasting buttersquash soup oddly paired with a far from fresh hard pork pie apparently found in the freezer, a tiny square of cheese and a portion of chutney. Did they run out of bread? Apparently knives were also in short supply because we ended up sharing one between us. There was an oddly flavoured sausage roll type thing with almost raw cabbage, fried carrots in skins and a separate dish from which three lonely roast potatoes contemplated this culinary car crash - and which were the only pleasantly edible items. All this in a restaurant formerly well-regarded for its excellent home-grown vegetables. We felt ill afterwards. We noted during our visit although the gardens were quite busy with family visitors few of them chose to eat in the restaurant. We did wonder why - and now we know. Rosemoor is not a cheap day out and hard-pressed families are not going to add to the expense of visiting the gardens with a bad expensive meal. Other restaurants are available and sadly we can't consider coming back unless we see clear evidence of improvement in Tripadvisor reviews.
