Excellent food, very tasty, Vietnamese owner friendly but bit language barrier. Lovely wine, nice Chinese dishes, we had little cake to celebrate friend birthday.

Outstanding selection of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes . We opted for the Vietnamese street foods and the ever attentive waiting staff were extremely helpful making suggestions to suit our needs . Steak and brisket broth exceptional , monkfish was sensational , salt and pepper squid was the best I've had outside of Asia . We would highly recommend a visit to experience this family friendly restaurant who excel in customer service , quality and value for money . We have been here many times before, but not since new management. It is now mostly Vietnamese, but they have continued the chinese all-you-can-eat menu. This has risen to a staggering £24ph. So here is my review. Good: extremely friendly, hospitality, very welcoming and fast service. Very clean, prompt service and menu choice is sufficiently appropriate. Soft drink cans priced at £3.60!! Not good: Drink prices, and the continual suggestion of you ordering more drinks. Almost beckoning you to guzzle down as quickly as possible, so you can order more. Huge coke glasses, and insisting on pouring for you. Food very salty. The Hot&Sour soup was like sea water it was so salty. When asked for soy sauce was given Maggi seasoning. No actual menu for the Chinese buffet, stating £24 pricing. However, overall, very nice and I shall go again!

Have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience.this week we celebrated a special event so had a take away delivered to the house food excellent everything we asked for and a complimentary bottle of wine for the birthday lady. Me and my partner fancied a Chinese and was told Yum Yum was a nice place to go. When we arrived we were sat down and ordered drinks. I just wanted a glass of tap water, but the lady was charging me £2 so I decided to just get a coke. The food was very disappointing, the starters was okay, but the chicken wing looked like a dead mouse and had a cheesy twang to it. The duck was cold and had fatty bits, was defiantly not fresh. After the buffet I would normally be stuffed, but I couldn't eat as much as I would of liked too and would defiantly not be going here again. Be warned!!

Been here a few times before. Unfortunately, during this visit there were a lot of issues. My daughter found a piece of paper that was fried up with her prawns. We pointed this fact out to the manager but nothing was done. Also the house or normal water we asked for after ordering quite a few drinks came to us with floating sediments, and as such was undrinkable. The staff or the manager to be precise, clearly favoured the people he called his regulars. The rest of us just didn’t matter. I hope this place goes back to the way it used to be.

Had dinner here tonight (Sunday). Six of us had the buffet which was served by the excellent staff. Very attentive. We stop here when we are in the area. It looks as if it has had a fairly big refresh since we were here last and looks good both inside and out. Excellent food at a fair price. Would highly recommend.

We recently celebrated our 50th Wedding anniversary with Sunday lunch for seventeen people (fifteen adults and two children) at the Yum Yum Eatery. Within the party we had a mixture of dietary requirements including vegan and vegetarian and we all sat in the raised section of the restaurant. Although we had previously eaten here and were familiar with the menu etc, the quality of the food did not disappoint and there was a wide range of starters and mains as well as the duck and veggie wraps in between. The service was friendly and efficient and overall everyone had really nice time and based on our experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Fantastic lunch today with family for our 50th wedding anniversary..So well organised catering for all of us vegetarian,vegans and the carnivores . Food and portions were great,tasty and hot. Staff were friendly and helpful.Thankyou you were part of a great day.

Very tiny portions, my husbands was slightly bigger. I can understand they don’t want waste but we were not having the buffet. We had from the al a carte menu. The tiny plate was only half full.we paid over £30 for a tiny meal and a shared rice. A can of coke and a can of strongbow. I feel in shock still at how tiny the portions were.

This is easily the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to! My grandparents come here every week and my parents and I join them sometimes. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food is tasty and always delicious, we love coming here and can’t wait to come back soon!

Went into Yum Yum for a take away, recieved the bill, I was overcharged by £10. I queried and was told that there's a price increase and if I don't want the food I can go...this was by the manager. It was awful...I wouldn't go there again.

Amazing eatery, well worth the effort travelling to. The staff are exceptionally courteous and attentive. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. The food is exceptional and marvelously presented. It tastes as good as it looks. I have been many times, but it is getting more pricey, and understandably in current climate. I would highly recommend.

This is our local family-run Chinese restaurant and we often visit thanks to the delicious food and very friendly service. Father, William, his daughter Emma, and the rest of the family, truly make it a great visit and we always carry our friends and family here, who all love it as much as we do. As long as the good food and convivial atmosphere continue, we will always go back.

Me and my mum went to Thorpe park and stayed in the nearby premier in, we looked around the area and found this restaurant! I can honestly say I loved every single dish that was brought to the table! The crispy aromatic duck rolls were incredible! I would travel miles to eat that all over again, only thing me and my mum kept saying to eachover was ‘this is so nice, this is so good’. Most beautiful meal we have eaten on our trip so far! And as it was my birthday a day before, I had 10% off the bill.. very very reasonable! Will return one day

This family owned restaurant is wonderful. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. The way of ordering the as much as you can eat buffet is perfect, as the food is cooked fresh to order and not standing in hot dishes for goodness knows how long. Visited here with a large party and from the second we entered the door to the second we left we were made to feel like the only guests in the restaurant. The service is the best in any restaurant I've ever been in. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional. We were served by a lady called Emma who was fantastic. Always checking if we where ok and recommending dishes to those who where unsure. The manager, Will, took time to speak to all his guests. The food is the best Chinese I've ever had. Every dish we tried, and there was a lot between us, was perfect. All fresh and tasty. The black bean sauce is amazing. If you like Chinese food then look no further. Thanks to Will and all his staff for looking after us and making this a fantastic experiance.

We have been coming here for nearly 20 years, and its never let us down on the quality of their food or service. We went on Saturday night and had a table from 6pm until closing, with no pressure to move on. We have got to know the owner William and his family really well and always a smile and a chat when we go in, either to sit in or for takeaway. Their new buffet style is really tasty food, always sizzling hot and so reasonably priced so great value. People whining about small portions, order more if you like it! You can order from a main individual priced menu for more choice but to be honest the buffet menu covers everything most people want from dining in an east asian restaurant. Our daughter really loves their noodles with shrimp and they're always willing to change them if needed to her ever changing taste depending if she wants veg or not! I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. thank you as always!

This the first I have ever had to write review. We were very very disappointed with the service they could not cope, some of the staff did not seem to know what they were doing, we waited ages for anyone to take our order, when got our starter it looked as though it had been throne on the plate, we waited ages for someone to clear the plates and bring our duck and pancakes, they put the plate down and ages after they delivered the meal everything was cold, then we waited again for some sort of service, we ordered banana fritters and ice cream not even a whole banana, , all they seemed to focus on was people coming in for takeaway food they had priority, we waited and waited, we were not the only ones, we heard 4 people say they would never come again.as did a couple behind us. The food was not value for money, the plates of food were very small about a desert spoon each for 4 people,very poor, what there was of it was ok but seemed like the food was being rashioned. Would not go again, it was a treat for my husbands birthday, so not a good night. The staff were rushing about all the time, no time to be pleasant, forgetting things some did not seem to know what they were doing Good luck if you book, I hope you have a better time than we did,and take no notice of the photo's on the web ,it was not like it at the restaurant. Early Saturday evening family meal. Busy little family run restaurant. Attentive staff. Spotlessly clean. Freshly cooked buffet menu to order. Happy to serve with the sauce separately, as obviously freshly cooked. Not just heated! Good choice of drinks available. An enjoyable relaxing meal had by all.

Great selection if you choose the buffet menu, was £17.50 each on a Thursday night. Recommend you book a table as it was busy even early evening.

The Yum Yum Tree has been revamped as an Asian Eatery but is still essentially a Chinese food restaurant. We went for a set menu that was good value and generally well cooked. Nice flavoured food, but was it as good as it used to be, probably not. Service was good, staff friendly.

The food was nice but seriously overpriced for what we got. Never been to a Chinese place that charges that much for such small portions. The mixed hors d’oeuvre was £17 for two people but was easily enough for only one person if even that! It could of been the best Chinese in the world and I still would never go back there for the amount they charged. First time I’ve left a Chinese restaurant still hungry.

Nice food but a little chaotic. Arrived quite early but seemed to struggle with service. Starters were fairly quick but had to wait a long time for the main course, had to get new plates because the first lot went cold. Order was wrong and finished everything else before getting the last of the food. Also, too many people sitting and standing around waiting for takeaways.

My husband and I visited here Saturday evening, we did phone and book a table, arrived and shown to our table, it was freezing cold in there and other guests were still in their coats, surely this tells the staff something, anyway we thought we'd give it a while and see what happened. Menus were given, waited about 15minutes just for our drink order to be taken, at this point we did say how cold it was, they said the heating was on. Ordered our food and drinks, starters arrived about 30 minutes later after tables that arrived after us had already got theirs ? Served on freezing cold plates ( I do like hot plates for my food) so hence it all went cold too quickly, we did mention this and just got a shrug and told restaurants do not offer warm plates anymore, well they do at all other restaurants we go to. Asked for warm plates for main course, did not get these and the chilli beef was cold, they did replace this with a hot one. Asked for bill which was forgotten, asked again, it was wrong, they changed it and again we said how disappointed we were with the food and service, we were told it is because we are busy ! Well isn't a restaurant meant to be busy ? He really didn't care at all that we had not enjoyed our visit, said we would not be returning or recommending, again all we got was a shrug of shoulders, very unprofessional !!

The best Chinese in the area by far. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is fast, polite and friendly. We often visit when we want Chinese food and it never disappoints. Every dish I have tried is fantastic and cooked to perfection.

You need to book a table Friday Saturday or your be disappointed. Its not cheap but worth it the duck and pancakes is to die for. Visited restaurant many times never a disappointment. If you go once your be going back.

Went to this restaurant with the missus expecting the worst. When the meal was done my mind was blown. After living in China for 10 years I have never found a restaurant that can perfectly replicate the true dishes until now. Service was great, in particular the young bartender and the manager were truly splendid. I had to thank William Chong, the manager, for such an exceptional meal and night. Would recommend for all Chinese lovers as you can finally taste the true Chinese delicacies. AMAZING!!!!!!

Visited the yum yum eatery for the first time this Monday evening. Weary being a quiet Monday evening what to expect. We decided on a ‘Yum Yum feast’ exchanging the sweet and sour for a Kung Po, no problem, what a good choice. Thoroughly recommend this Chinese. What a result, nothing bland about these dishes. Great place will definitely be back

Really disappointed with the food here I’m afraid. The service was excellent, I cannot fault them for efficiency and timing of bringing each dish. The food however wasn’t great, with two of my three dishes being disappointing.

The starters were tasty. Enough time was left between them and our mains.Friendly service great food and atmosphere Food Lovely I recommend for a get together with any amount of people. You cannot fault the food and the high quality drinks here. A perfect place to visit.

Visited here recently with four colleagues/friends. They took advantage of the eat as much as you like BUFFET menu, which actually is not a buffet, you can order from a huge long list whatever you would like to eat and the quality and the choice is exceptional. Unlike a 'normal buffet' when the choice is limited and often the more mundane choices. Lucky friends - They took full advantage of this amazing offer. As a veggie that wasn't such a good thing for me. So I asked to order from the AlaCarte. No problem. Very attentive waiter was very understanding. We had an amazing meal, the standard of food, service and everything was excellent. The vegetarian options were really lovely, tasty and beautifully cooked and presented. Couldn't fault a thing. Thanks for a fabulous meal and a great evening out.

I was surprised to read the negative reviews on here as had not seen them before we decided on a whim to eat here.

I've been coming to this restaurant for a couple years now and the owner is very very well known in the area by young and old alike. He's always polite and takes the time to talk to you even if he's very busy. The food price wise I think is fair and very tasty. The rest of the staff are helpful and work very hard. Warm ambience too.

I love this Chinese restaurant with good size portions and delicious food I particularly like their roast pork noodles.

Popped in as passing at lunch time. Lovely sweet and sour chicken and a Thai green curry, all served piping hot and freshly cooked, nothing was too much trouble. All thorough enjoyed it. Will be back. Recommended
