Yuen Mei in Torbay

Delicious food, was just passing but popped in and got chicken balls, prawn toast, chips, curry sauce. Was absolutely delicious Highly recommended

Now decided.to change my review last 7 weeks I've called different days for delivery (I'll health stops me collecting) and everytime I get same excuse one and half to two hour wait, come on been a regular customer nearly 5 years or more now sort it out

Just had a takeaway delivered and I have to say it was probably the nicest Chinese I have had in a long time. There was an hour wait but it was most definitely worth it. Will definitely be ordering again

Had Foo Yung takeaway. Nice to eat but not Foo Yung. No 5 spice at all. Just an omelette.

I have worked as the delivery driver for yung mei for over 3 years,best place I've worked,love my free meals at end of the shift. Only thing that gets me down is customers like Kelly,ty for the bad review and when someone punches you when screaming at u,no ur not getting ur can of coke & your banned from the Chinese.

My food came but the female driver forgot my drink, no apology, her tone and attitude so vile, said they “may refund me” I said I haven’t got the drink so I should hope so, and they just kicked off, won’t ever order again the food is lovely it’s purely the driver that’s why they’ve lost a customer, disgusting woman

Called and placed an order for delivery. Told that it would be an hour and a half. Over two hours later still not here. We’ve got hungry children here. Called and was told that it would be at least another 20 minutes. The lady that I spoke to just said that it was very busy. No apology just rude. Still not here. obviously doing the walk ins before orders. Yay now arrived an hour later.. finally. Just be honest and realistic about your delivery times. !!!

Oh my goodness! Just ordered a take away from here and it was delicious! My daughter loved the chicken balls with chips and sweet chilli sauce. It was worth the wait! Will definitely buy again.

Ordered for the first time. Thai king prawn curry tastes nothing like a Thai curry, no depth or real flavour (and a Thai curry should be bursting with flavour), chips were neither good or bad. Ordered a chicken satay which turned out to be a chicken with cashew nut thing, again that was very bland and boring as was the pork chow mien. I mean the meat was tender, no chewiness, but the whole thing was just ‘meh’. Very bland to the point of tasteless. I threw most of mine away as did my husband. Supposed to have gotten free prawn cracker as our order was over £30, these didn’t come. Yuen Mei are not on any food ordering apps and whilst they have a basic website, you cannot order from it. You have either to go there or phone. We phoned and had to repeat our order multiple times. The food did arrive quickly but that’s really the only positive point.

I had my food delivered and it was delivered by a very nice person, the food was piping hot and delicious, so thank you very much, we will definitely use you again and recommend you. Angela ( mama’s dessert)

Best chinese food I've had in years

The worst slop of a pork fried rice I've ever tried in Torquay, The first lot of rice that my dog has EVER refused which kinda says it all The beef chow mein was just okay nothing special overall not coming back!

We ordered home delivery while on holiday. Service was excellent and the food was lovely. Definitely recommend.

As someone who loves Chinese food and has tried many different places in Torquay, this HAS to be the best of the lot. Food portion is massive Lemon chicken is amazing Sweet and sour sauce lovely Chicken balls perfect Omlette spot on and delicious Even the rice and noodles taste great. Service always friendly and when I go to collect their phone is always ringing with orders so must be popular. Definitely going back

2 to 3 star unfortunately, I've used these several times now and the food hasn't been too bad but certainly not worth shouting about. Always collected and consumed within a few minutes yet only seemed luke warm each time for some reason. Then there is the lady behind the counter who on the 25th Feb 23 I found to be very rude and abrupt. All I asked was for was spring onion in the rice, yet I got a firm rudely spoken abrupt loud 'NO'. Pretty pour customer service from this lady, so off I walked to Tesco to get my own, yet they do meals with spring onions? I also asked for crispy duck to on the bone, but apparently its not possible as it comes as a breast, again I felt like an inconvenience so i shut up. Pretty annoyed to be honest and over something so trivial in my view. Unfortunately I will be going to another Chinese from now on.

We have eaten here several times over the years. The last 2 times Have not been nice. The food we ordered lastnight didn’t taste nice at all. And kept me up most of the night with a bad stomach. This is the last 2 times now. So sadly we will not be using them again. And I can’t recommend them. Also the lady who answers the telephone. Really needs some training in customer service.

I used the Chinese takeaway in Abbey before before it changed to Yummy house (dont like) previously it was really good, recently started to use Yuen Mei, me and my friends all agree its the tastiest and best around, I should have tried ages ago, Staff really friendly takeaway superb

On a recommendation tried today. Excellent. Beautifully clean premises. It's in a grotty part of town so bound to be good! Returned 3 weeks later. Our new go to. Chinese food is often bland and not at all spicy. Yuen Mei is the exception. Absolutely delicious and spicy where appropriate.

Order was delivered half an hour later than stated. Chips were freezing and hard as rock, main meal was warm. Ordered Thai crispy chicken in sweet chilli sauce, was very tasty but failed to understand the Thai reference and as the chicken was covered in sauce there was no way you could call it crispy. Would I order from here again, yes because the food was very tasty and I'm hoping they were just having an off night to explain the lateness of delivery, and the very bad chips.

Never had a disappointing experience from Yuen Mei. Couldn't recommend their chrispy chilli beef more readily.

Food was delicious, generous portions, all the veg was fresh and the meat tender and very tasty sauces. Definitely order again from Yuen Mei when I need a good Chinese meal!

I ordered a dish with noodles, vedgetables and prawns - the prawns were frankly old, didn’t taste like prawns, and were inedible, definitely not added to the dish as fresh prawns, to me this is unexceptional as you can buy a pack of perfectly fresh tasty prawns for £3 from any supermarket, and buying in bulk even cheaper, I spent £18 on my order I expect fresh food, also the pork that is on top of the special fried rice is also inedible and old and hard as a rock it doesn’t even tast like pork I spat it out, again itsunacceptable as pork is very cheap and should be prepared fresh and tender. I will not be ordering again from this takeaway. Very disappointed.
