We have visited Yue many times. The past few visits have unfortunately been disappointing. The food is incredible, but the service is just poor. I asked if there was a certain food available, the server offered to ask the kitchen (after prompting), he didn’t return. When our drinks were eventually served by another server, I asked again if the kitchen had a certain food. He then had to ask someone else. The starter arrived with the main. As we ate, we felt that we were constantly being checked to see if we had finished. As I took my last mouthful of starter, we were asked if we were ready for the main. As our main was sitting prepared under hot lights, we said yes. We weren’t checked in again during the meal, and were so rushed we only had time for one drink. We have previously voiced our disappointment to the staff re service, but nothing has changed. We adore the food, but don’t know if we will back due to this. Such a shame!!

Have been looking for Japanese spot in Cornwall for ages, was recommended to try Yue and wish had been here ages ago. Really wonderful find if you are looking for completely authentic and beautifully prepared Japanese in Cornwall. Small kitchen, fresh produce and attentive staff and hi take no shirt cuts make for great result. Great value for money, can’t want to come back.

Easily my favourite restaurant in the COUNTRY. As a student, I find it hard to get a good deal in Cornwall, but Yue is both top quality and top prices. The staff are pleasant and welcoming, always smiling. They are so accomodating to specific requests. I adore this place. Please visit and show it some love.

I went in to order two takeaway meals. I was there 25 minutes in which time I witnessed the staff in total chaos, partly due to the system they operated and partly due to the cramped space. I was not impressed by the hygiene and to enlarge on this, staff handling food without wearing gloves whilst doing other jobs, for example, taking orders, dealing with the till, serving seated customers and answering the phone; also, the main chef picking up handfuls of noodles from a great big container on the counter and rolling them into a ball using both un-gloved hands. Far too many people working in a confined space. The rice, is unlike any other egg fried rice that I've ever seen before, it came in a solid brown block. The sweat and sour sauce again was unlike any other I have ever ordered. The house Special Chow Mien was a big disappointment both in size and the quality. Generally the house special chow mein comes with slices of various meats with prawns or shrimps; this one had tiny pieces of chicken, a few tiny pieces of beef and two prawns and came with the noodles in the same size container as the rice. I would advise people to use a different Chinese takeaway.

We had a takeaway from Yue last night as a large group and the food was incredible. So much to choose from, including healthy poke bowls. The flavours were amazing. This is quite possibly the best Chinese/ Japanese food that I have ever had. Highly recommend.

We have been here 3 times for Japanese food. Great to finally have this option in Truro. Delicious soups and bento boxes. The Chinese menu options also look tasty! Friendly staff and good value.

The restaurant was chaotic with lots of young staff. We waited 45 minutes for our starters which arrived just warm, after asking where there were. The whole restaurant was small, one toilet for the whole restaurant and freezing cold. When asked about the heating we were told the radiators We’re not working. People were sat eating their food in their coats. When asked to see the manager we w ere told he was not in the building so we asked to see the duty manager. A young lady came to us and apologised and told us the ma anger was busy with making sushi. The only positive was the jmain dishes were lovely what a shame.

I know it was Valentine’s Day, and the restaurant filled up as we were waiting. However, we waited a long time between entering the restaurant and the server taking our order. After our order was taken, it was 50 minutes until we received our food. I have visited Yue a number of times and the service is good, the food great and the prices reasonable. We always have a long wait for food, and it’s worth it. However, 50 minutes? Way too long. More staff in the kitchen are needed. Otherwise, very nice. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and service from an authentic Chinese/ Japanese restaurant. The restaurant looksa little disorganised as you walk in, but it is clean and cheerful.

The entire evening was dreadful from booking through to payment. The service was horrific and the staff were rude. The food was also not great and way below we expected. It was expensive. Much better elsewhere locally in Truro.

Read a few reviews and was quite hesitant to book at this place.. We've not been able to get sushi or Japanese food let alone a good Chinese in Cornwall so this really surprised us! Just terrible. Ordered Saturday evening for home delivery at 6.23pm. Delivery due 7.40pm as busy. Called 7.12pm to check sizes of portions, as portion size not listed on website. Girl on phone said, yes the website is rubbish!? I asked for portion size and wanted to add another dish. 7.15pm, my food was ready, so couldn't sadly add more food. She then said it will arrive late though at 8pm as they had issues. She was calling 22 customers to delay their deliveries. Didn't mind as only 20 minutes late. I had to call 4 times total, they had no clue what was happening, said that my food wasn't ready at 7pm, it's now 8.20 pm and we are only preparing it now! She said they had 2 trainees, she blamed them, but it was same girl 'V' ( for privacy) that told me I couldn't add anything at 7pm! 9.05pm Called to ask for our food AGAIN she said the driver was picking it up, the driver is near your house, 2 minutes to wait, only, she said I don't know what has happened. She said I was luckier than others that night!!! 9.40pm, called again, still no food! 9.45,pm Driver called to ask if we still wanted our order as it was due at 7.40pm and he was outside restaurant and only just given food by staff! Too late for us to get food elsewhere, so asked him to bring it. I called Yue again and asked what was happening as driver just called, she said driver was lying and he'd been lost and had food for over an hour! She also was talking to the owner and saying, 'what shall I say to her?' I heard the owner screaming in background, I already gave her discount!! It sounded so awful. They just didn't care! Our food arrived at 10.02pm! Was so cold, they forgot the hoisin sauce, (for the Peking duck). Chicken satay were dry and cold. Very, very old, reheated prawn toast. It was garbage! The last time EVER we will order from this horrible place, we have given them so many chances, since they opened, they are often chaotic! Also worried about food lying around for nearly 3 hours, just dangerous.

We had a lovely family meal in this Chinese/Japanese restaurant. They catered for our little girl brilliantly who loved the chicken fried rice. We asked our waiter what he would recommend for starters and he talked so passionately about the food it was brilliant! We ended up having the bbq ribs and chicken dumplings to start and chicken Katsu for mains. All the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We found all the staff to be lovely and attentive overall a great experience!

Small friendly restaurant, service was quick and accurate , we tried sweet & sour chick and pork with garlick mushroom both very tasty and well presented, we didn't try the Japanese dishes but what we saw being served did give you food envy 😄

Perfect Chinese takeaway. Better than my previous 15 - 20 Chinese takeaways from several takeaways in the city. Lots of tender chicken breast. Fresh veg and garnish. Generous portions, bursting out of the boxes. Delicious fresh taste.

The food is outstanding and without a doubt the best I’ve tasted in Cornwall, combined with great service and a reasonably priced menu that makes this place exceptional. Food is always fantastic.. light years ahead of the typical post-pub-only fare in some of the other local places. Had a few staffing/logistical issues over lockdown with delays and delivery difficulties, but that's all resolved now and even then, the food was fresh and delicious.

Started really well.... Was recommended by a friend and the first 4-5 orders were perfect. We are currently sat here on a Saturday evening at 6:30 waiting for an order that was placed online at 4:30 for delivery at 6. Just called and told “they are just packing it now and should be with you in 15 mins”not really good enough is it. This is the second time this has happened.... last time they also forgot the prawn crackers. We order from this take away at least once a month, spending around £40 per order. We will try another order next month but if we get the same service we will go back to a more reliable take away. Yues food is really good, but not worth waiting 45 mins beyond your delivery time.

Having been recommended to try this takeaway after less than excellent offerings elsewhere we ordered and collected at the advised time a delicious and the hottest Chinese meal we have even had the pleasure of eating. Clearly a business operation but excellent food and service even if we are too far out to have delivery, the trip was and will be worth it in future. We will certainly be ordering again. Thank you.

What a shocking experience !After waiting 55 minutes for a takeaway that we were told was going to be a 20 minute wait, we then got home to discover we had been seriously overcharged and didn’t have the correct food in the bag.Following a conversation with the restaurant manager, who literally screamed at me down the phone, and then proceeded to have an argument with her colleagues, another staff member came on the phone, hurling abuse at me rather than doing the right thing and refunding me for what they had made quite simply an awful experience.Customer service at its worst !!!

Ordered a take away from here for my wife’s 50th. Would normally have been celebrating with a party but due to COVID-19 restrictions that wasn’t possible so a tasty Chinese then! The food was horrendous. Never seen the likes of a Thai green curry like it. It was something like Campbell’s chicken soup. Phoned to complain the following day and fobbed off by a manager, oh no wait a minute not a manager. Staff could decide if she was or wasn’t a manager and neither could she??? Told to call back as the owner wasn’t there, then after being hug up on told the Chinese chef owner called John (no one there knows his real name, even thought they are employed by him) would call me back as he was busy cooking. Then hung up on again. Complete cowboys! Don’t get conned by this lot! Trading standards, food hygiene and other authorities will be contacted ASAP.

Been ordering from here for years, until tonighT!!! Order pretty much £40 worth of food. They got the order wrong, when I called them about the mistake they tried to charge me extra even though they recited the order back to me correct! I was charged the correct amount (as we looked on their online menu to total up what we had actually ordered) however they were insistent we paid extra!! A brilliant way to treat your locals regular, loyal customers mean nothing to this crowd!

I am a reasonable person and avoid posting negative reviews... I would rather praise when we'll catered for. However I am breaking my rule because of the many problems, with my recent order, summarised as:- ignoring agreed request to omit mushrooms from any relevant dishes due to allergy- omitting one dish from initially collected order- never providing a complete / edible version of a second dish- outright refusal to provide refund for dish paid for but never actually delivered. In detail, we collected a takeaway 8th Sept on our one night stay in Truro. I immediately told the girl on the phone taking our order that I was allergic to mushrooms & specifically asked if any of the dishes I wished to order contained mushrooms. I was told no only after she checked with the chef at both the beginning & again at the end of the order. My partner collected it but when he got back to our hotel we had a phone call to say there may be something missing. There was...the 5th dish, a special chow mein. They apologised, then delivered the missing dish quickly (we were only 5 mins away). However, when we opened the container of beef with ginger & spring onions we found lots of mushrooms! Further, the container lid labelled chicken & cashew nuts was not chicken & nuts it was chicken & bamboo shoots or similar AND had mushrooms in. So I rang them & after further apologies they brought me the missing chicken & cashew nuts dish, which took 20+ mins to arrive. Upon inspection, it was full of bamboo shoots & vegetables floating in thin stock not the promised sticky hoisin sauce & not a single cashew nut! It was inedible. Thoroughly disappointed, I rang again & asked for a refund for that one dish, which I thought was only fair. The lady agreed but said the kitchen was 'backed up' & they had a new chef. She said she was new & didn't know how to do a refund but would ask & call me back in 5 mins. I waited an hour but no call back. I rang again & she told me that '"the chef has told me he can't give you a refund because you've had your food"! I asked to speak to 'chef' & I heard him say "I'll call in 15 mins", needless to say I never got that call. If I had eaten the dishes with mushrooms I would have ended up in hospital such is the severity of my allergy.We chose to order food from Yue on the back of very good previous reviews but on the basis they have a new chef, clearly have no regard for allergies or trying to make amends for their multiple mistakes on my order, I would say any previous good food reviews must only relate to the old chef & are therefore no longer valid or relevant. If you want to actually get what you paid for and perhaps avoid dangerous health issues, then avoid this place!

Ordered a collection using the online menu and website, very easy to navigate and could then select own pick up time which was really helpful. Food was ready to go as soon as we arrived. The food itself was great. 6 of us eating all said it was one of the best Chinese we’ve ever had. Will definitely order again.

I stayed in Truro for a week with family, and not being from the area we had no prior knowledge of the takeaways around. We were really glad we opted for Yue as the food was really good, especially the sauces, and we got free prawn crackers and a happy hour discount too. Delivery charge was very reasonable. Thank you!

I've eaten in before and it was lovely but the takeaway I had on Saturday needs a special mention. The star attraction was the chicken satay, the chicken on skewers was good enough even without the satay sauce. Best quality I have ever had for that dish as a takeaway. Everything else was fresh tasting and delicious. Highly recommended.

We booked a table for four with one of us needing gluten free food. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and great care was taken to explain the gluten free options. The food was of excellent standard and of generous portion size. Was perhaps a little on the pricey side with boiled rice at £3.50 but otherwise good value for the quality. Highly recommended

We had enjoyed the authentic Chinese dishes and staff very obliging with my brother in law's gluten free diet. However very surprised, there were no main fish or prawn dishes in the menu especially we are in Cornwall !!!

Our party of 20 was treated to a first class meal, with excellent service by Carrie and her staff throughout the evening. Everyone was amazed with the quality of the food presented. The Birthday cake that Carries made was covered in fresh fruit and enjoyed by all. Thank you to Carrie and her staff for making the evening so memorable for our family & friends.

We went here on evening, really by default, as all the other car parks were full, and the one near this Restaurant had spaces. WOW, what fabulous food - the BEST Lemon Chicken I have ever tasted, along with all the other dishes we ordered. One strange thing though, Ice Cream was served with a knife and fork ! Lovely new clean premises, with the chef on view for all to see. A really lovely meal - Well Done all of you, I WILL be back.

On arriving you would expect a warm welcome but we stood around for a while before anyone even spoke to us. There didn't seem to be anyone on front of house. A woman finally asked us if we had booked and we said yes but she behaved as if she didn't have us down. She did show us to our table though (3 of us) but only gave us 2 menus. We asked for an additional menu for our son but she said "there are only 9 menus and a table of 10 (pointing to the table), there is a table in the corner of 4 without any menus and I am always complaining that we need more". So we should have been grateful we had 2 then. Seriously, how much would it cost to print more menus? Eventually she did bring over a menu but wasn't in a friendly manner, she just put one on our table without saying anything. We ordered drinks and starters and half an hour later they bought over our starter but not our drinks, we had to ask for them. We got the feeling that, with a table of 10 in the corner, they were under pressure, but they had enough staff, they should have been able to cope. I know they do takeaways as well but seriously, it wasn't good for us to feel that way. We felt that we were inconveniencing them. We couldn't criticize the food as it was all very good, but the service could have been better. It is also a very small restaurant and the table of 10 were so loud (not the fault of the establishment) but a bit thoughtless. They had no consideration for other people in there and we could not hear each other speak. We would order take away from there because the food was good but we wouldn't book to eat there again. We expect better service than that especially when the meal for 3 came to £80.

Our friends had booked a table for four, the welcome was excellent although the noise from a possibly leaving do from a party of maybe twelve people was deafening, our table was next to theirs! Our table was really fit only for two people but hey ho. The waitress was informative but did under state the size of the portions which were very generous.The food was good but not exceptional, however we are in Cornwall and we would definitely return.

The open kitchen gave the restaurant and buzzing energetic feel,very good chefs added extra chilli when asked as each dish is prepared for the order ,fresh and very tasty food ,highly recommend.

Top notch service. Food very good.However because only another couple in restaurant (it was a Tuesday) food was compromised. For example, Crispy duck not freshly cooked (reheated in microwave?) which reduced crispy flavour. However, plenty of superb pancakes.The quality of chicken pieces in meals absolutely excellent, but a shade too much MSG for my liking. More flavour in the vegetables would be better but ginger pieces delicious.We would visit again, but on a more popular day.

We wanted a good take away and this was our first visit as our previous regular restaurant has disappeared! The service was good enough, the food was good enough but they made an error with my order. I did ring when I arrived home to let them know and they offered a refund but I was at home by then and too far away to do anything. The chef was at fault as I know my order was taken and passed on correctly. It just smacks of not being bothered.

our son recommended this restaurant to us as we were going to Truro for the day on our day off and he knows we like to eat in different places. The food was great and all cooked in an open kitchen, very reasonable prices even the wine we had, the Prawn Toast is the best I have ever had, very nicely set out restaurant with a little outside courtyard which i would imagine is lovely on a warm summers evening.

My partner and I ate here last night and were blown away with the quality of the meals and the service! Carrie made sure nothing was too much trouble and the food was simply outstanding. We had the crispy beef and a sizzling plate of prawns with ginger and spring onion, the flavours fresh and exactly what we remembered from out holiday to Hong Kong. I can’t believe we haven’t found this little gem of a place before, we will be back very soon, thank you all so much for a wonderful evening.

It's not bad, but also there isn't really anything good to find in the dishes we tried. Our best dish was okay, the worst one inedible as it was overly sweet, gloopy and bland.

We were on holiday and wanted a Chinese meal. We found this one it’s in a strange location but that doesn’t detract from the food or service. You can see the chef cook the food which is a really nice touch. The restaurant is clean and the staff are super friendly. The food was amazing we loved all the dishes that we ordered. The service was a little slow but that didn’t bother us at all, it was nice to sit and enjoy time as a family. We will definitely be going back when we are next in Cornwall.

La posizione è estremamente comoda al centro e vicinissimo ad un parcheggio che dopo le 17 è gratis. Ambiente pulito e caratteristico, cucina a vista,i cuochi sono davvero cinesi. I piatti di entrambi erano gustosi, gradito l'antipasto offerto. Il personale davvero gentile.

Took a while to have our initial order taken and then had to ask a couple of times for a drink refill ... but what it lacked in polished service, was more than made up for with the quality of food.

Greeted by the owner Carrie and made to feel very welcome and special.

After seeing this restaurant on trip advisor advertising gluten free friendly and clarifying this via Facebook we decided to give it a try... after not having a Chinese for 3 years I’m so glad we did!!! The restaurant itself is small, and lovely to sit in. All staff were friendly and helpful... one lady in particular (sorry I didn’t get your name!) who discussed my dietary requirements and doubled, triple checked what I could eat, thank you for being so knowledgable and helpful, you put my mind at ease and improved my experience! All the food (gluten free and non gluten free) was ABSOLUTELY amazing! Tasty, good portion sizes.. and I wasn’t ill from cross contamination which is a massive bonus for me! We couldn’t fault anything. If only we lived closer!! Will definitely return on our next holiday!

We had a nice evening meal here: mixed starters, sizzling beef, duck, and rice. All very tasty. The only slight negative was the long wait for the food to arrive. The restaurant was nowhere near full so the wait was a bit disappointing.

Last evening in Truro and my partner decided he wanted Chinese. Yue came up as the No 1 and it is well deserved. Small restaurant, nicely furnished with an outdoor area (too cold for us to sit out). Not a hugely extensive menu but a good choice and all freshly cooked, tasty, decent size meals. Very friendly and helpful staff. I ordered a diet coke and was told they only had Coke Light which I accepted but then didn't like so asked for something else. They did not charge me for the Coke even although it was purely that I did not like it. If ever back in Truro would visit again.

Good addition to restaurants in Truro. Simple menu, good food, good value and very friendly and professional service. Will go again.

Wonderful food! Wonderful service! Jasmine is a lovely lady, as all the staff. 🤗 Beautiful and relaxed atmosphere! Very comfortable seating, with the bonus of an outside area too. Well worth a visit! Will definitely be returning.

We discovered this relatively new Chinese restaurant today and chose to order a takeaway from here to celebrate a birthday. We were not disappointed. This restaurant offers great quality Chinese food reminiscent of the quality you used to get many years ago which seems to have been lost to mass produced food. From the properly cooked rice to any of the mains, I would recommend this Chinese over all others in and around the local area. The staff were exceptionally kind and very happy to accommodate our requests to amend some of the generously sized menu items (adding garlic and extra spices to dishes etc.). Definitely worth a try!

We visited Yue last month and had a fantastic meal, the food was delicious and the staff were attentive. In classic fashion we over-ordered so got to enjoy some leftovers for lunch the next day. The fortune cookies with the bill were a lovely touch. Highly recommend !

We visited this relatively new restaurant as a family. The service the great- salt and chilli prawns were way too good! Crackers a plenty too!
