Staying nearby we decided to pop into one of our nearby local pubs and to our delight we found it very friendly and welcoming my wife and I can highly recommend it if you are considering dropping in

Visited a few times while we were on holiday as this was local. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and the locals. Great atmosphere, great drinks. Unfortunately there was no food service while we were there. Dog friendly and our dog was spilt while he was there. This is a real little gem. Great community pub. Would definitely recommend.

Nice selection of beers and spirits, with Cwrw Llŷn’s own IPA hitting the mark, very similar to Greene King’s Icebreaker, best Guinness I have had in a long long while, visited on two consecutive evenings, both bar persons were very pleasant and hospitable. Good banter, good beer, would probably be my local if I was a local. Cheaper than the usual haunt.

Really interested to try this place because its restoration and re-opening has been the brainchild of local people which is fantastic. It didn’t disappoint. Lovely, clean fresh decor with pub seating to the front and a more formal dining area to the back. It’s a limited menu but that’s what I would hope for - everything cooked fresh. Amazing sharing bread board was put on the table - just delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Delicious, creative and great portion sizes. A minor criticism on the food front was that my schnitzel was slightly over cooked so a little chewy. Wine list was great. Will definitely be back for food and to pop in for a quick drink too. We need to support these small businesses and when the quality is as good as it is here, you won’t be disappointed. Couple of suggestions - maybe turn the lighting down a notch, have candles on the tables in the restaurant area and maybe some flowers too.

We ate at the pub on 20th Sept and we had a fabulous meal. The pub is really welcoming and the staff were great. The set menu was really good (I'm not usually a fan of a set menu). The pricing was more than reasonable at 3 courses £22 and 2 courses for £18. I had sardines on sour dough toast followed by cod and a red lentil dahl with crushed spiced new potatoes which was unbelievably good. The chef is smashing it out of the park, the waitress was friendly and engaging and the whole experience was great. In all honesty your missing a treat if you don't eat here. Fabulous pub.

My husband and I were staying in Nefyn for the week and were recommended this pub for dinner by some locals, and so I booked us in for our last night. I am so glad we booked as it was full, on a Tuesday evening and all I can say is that the whole experience was fantastic. The staff are friendly and the food simply gorgeous. There is a set menu with 2 courses for £18 and 3 for £22. My husband had sardines on toast and I had pigeon salad to start and then we both had cod with a masala lentil sauce and crushed potatoes for main. The food was simply outstanding, the mains alone should have been £16 per head, how the chef does it I don’t know but I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be coming back.

The service is good and the food competent ratjher than gourmet. There are constraints on kitchen size so very few covers at any one time but worth a visit if in the area.

Just visited Yr Heliwr as a family with 4 children. We had a friendly welcome from the staff and our table was waiting in a nice bright and airy room. Our food was freshly made and really tasty and all the kids enjoyed their food which doesn’t happen often. The bonus was that it was reasonably priced. Absolutely recommend it and we will be back.

What a find. Not your average pub grub. Well presented, well thought out menu, using local produce. The lamb on our last visit was amazing. Menu changes every couple of weeks, and is seasonal. Lovely, well presented and modern community pub/venue. Highly recommended.

We were staying just a few houses away from this gorgeous refurbished pub. I with family members were lucky enough to meet such lovely staff, and locals, we didn’t get the chance to eat there, but was recommended by locals that the food is delicious. Highly recommend a visit to this pub.

Great food and service. A limited menu - rightly so! - but superby done. Reasonably priced and friendly service. House wines not bad.

Absolutely wonderful, a first visit but certainly not the last. Best pizza I’ve had in about 10 years. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff. One of the best places to eat in Tywyn by far. Fabulous.

Great staff - very helpful & friendly, fab event, really good atmosphere - the gig was amazing & would really like to book here to stay in the future. It was good that, although the place was packed, you didn't have to wait to be served. Ty Glyndwr: diolch o galon

My first experience of Phoenix. This is a brilliant place, on the long Bangor High Street, but slightly hidden, being set back from the road. It has a large interior with amazing decorations. Many different styles of seating to suit different use expectations. The coffee is excellent. The food we had was very good - Farmhouse Pizza, and chicken kebab with a very tasty Turkish style mixed salad and rice. The service very friendly and the price was very reasonable, and in my view is excellent value. I saw they do a lot of Turkish style cakes and sweets - for my next visit. This is a good place to get food on Sunday when most of Bangor is closed. It is also a good place for a private chat or gathering and you do not want lots of background noise. It has high chairs and some toys for young children. I hear they hope to get a licence to sell wines and develop a more bistro style offering, which will be very welcome in Bangor.
