Youngs Chinese Takeaway in Great Yarmouth

After reading some reviews I was a bit dubious about going.. but decided to try anyway, and glad I did, lady on service counter was really lovely and polite,and the food was absolutely amazing, chicken balls, beef chowmein ,chips were amazing....lovely Chinese lady bought them out to me..highly recommend, was staying at wild duck and only 5 mins away

Very mixed reviews here. I think it's down to what dish people order. I had sweet and sour chicken balls with chips. They were freshly cooked and tasted great. We also ordered a mushroom curry, which was thin, watery and fairly inedible. This seems to be a common complaint. The restaurant itself just got a 5 star rating for food hygiene, and the lady who served me was extremely friendly and helpful.

On holiday at wild duck and fancied a chinese saw the review and it put me off but we took a plunge and went, we got bbq spare ribs, egg fried rice and chow main. The ribs was amazing & meat just fell off the bone😍 chow main & egg fried rice was beautiful and full of flavour. Thank you 🩷

Absolutely disgusting food. The curry chicken tasted like curry powder and water and was even skeptical that the chicken was actually chicken. Never again!!!!

£50 we made for Chinese and 4 out of 6 of us have been ill! The curry was like dishwater and the rice was all clumped together. The chips were cold and reheated. The chicken was tough and horrible too. We ordered this as a treat for my nanny's 81st birthday and when calling up to complain they didn't seem bothered at all. Very disappointed.

Waited 30 mins for 3 simple dishes. Didn’t get a spicy curry and the rice was so stodgy. Won’t come here again

Me and my wife always get a take away from this chinese when we are visiting this area we ordered our takeaway at 6 20 in the evening and waited 20 minutes so it should have been fresh when we got home and started to eat it we ended up throwing most of it in the bin broadly the worst chinese we have ever had won't be going back just hope we are not sick

Great food at this takeaway. Staying at Wild Duck. Very busy had to go and order at the restaurant as the phone was constantly engaged. Half an hour wait. Very popular worth the wait though

the chips were appalling. 3/4 of the chips had hair on them. Never coming back. The staff were also really rude

Really good food and service. Staff were helpful and friendly. I was here on holiday at a nearby caravan site, and used this establishment a few times. I would highly recommend.

The young lady serving was very friendly and polite. The food on the other hand was awful, easily the worst I’ve tried in a long long time and I have Chinese weekly. The portions are tiny and extremely expensive for what you get. The rice had no taste. The chilli chicken was very over cooked and around 10 small pieces to a portion! The chilli beef was rock hard and tasted off. The curry sauce was watery. The ribs tasted like chewing a rubber from high school. I would not return and recommend anyone to look elsewhere for a decent Chinese that’s fairly priced.

By far the best Chinese curry I have had in a long time delicious and really nice people serving me .

My husband and i were away for a few days and thought we would treat ourselves to a Chinese, i Saw the recent reviews on this restaurant so thought we would give it a go, ordered 6 dishes which came to £40. Absolutely disappointed, prawns were dry and tasteless, seaweed again tasteless, rice had a very strange flavour & colour and the chow mein was absolutely swimming in oil. The. Chicken dishes were also flavourless & the meat was tough. Absolutely gutted and hungry as the whole lot went in the bin.

King prawns and pineapple were ordered, chicken and pineapple was received incorrectly. Strangely the Chop Suey (chicken) was very sweet and unlike any I’ve ever tasted before.

We got a take away from here while staying nearby was literally one of the best Chinese we’ve had the szchen chicken was amazing!

Fantastic food!!!!! By far the best i have tried in a long while. Everything was hot, fresh and great tasting, couldn't find any fault .

Always delicious. One of our favourite bits about coming to the Yarmouth area. Customer service is brilliant. They really went out of thier way to help us with a taxi issue today. Highly recommended!

Just moved to the area and we had our first Chinese from here. What can I say it was absolutely delicious and the best we have had. We will definitely be back

It is my local Chinese and I always order from here the food is good the portion sizes are good as well. The only downside is it's cash only would be nice if you could pay by card.

Belton Chinese did it again, had sweet and sour chicken and sliced chicken chow main it was absolutely amazing, just what you need on a Saturday night

Would never go here again! Ordered a Kung Po chicken received a prawn in sweet and sour sauce. The chicken chow mein was awful. Spent a fair bit of money between 6 of us and hardly anyone ate any of it. The only think that was edible was the aromatic duck! Would definitely not recommend this Chinese

Only had king prawn chow mein and rice with s n s mixed balls and was very delicious and well priced. Would recommend.

Put an order in , and asked for it to be ready at 18.30 but couldn’t do 18.30 but would be ready at 18.40 , that was not the problem.I have used a few time But last time I used this Chinese they forgot to pack the chips with an omelette .When I phoned the order this time they forgot chips again and the banana fritters .They only started to get the order ready when I got there to pick it up in fact they had to get bananas from the shop next door .We had company coming round. Ruined our plans for the evening. Never going to use them again.

We ordered 2× sweet and sour crispy chicken Cantonese style and 2 portions of chips. Chips were nice and portions for both the sweet and sour and the chips were good, but sweet and sour was quite dry and chicken was quite hard to cut and bite into. Had better but at the same time had worse. Don't think I'd go here again however, but it was nice to try it

This evening I ordered Salt and pepper chicken which was the best I've ever had! Perfect amount of spice and tasty crispy chicken. The chips and curry sauce were also excellent. 10/10 would reccomend and will be returning.

I use my local takeaway several times a week. The food is great value for money and I've never had a problem in the time I have been using the takeaway! Staff are always friendly and the food tastes fantastic! Try the Kung po chicken.... trust me

I'm not used to writing bad reviews but am happy to do so on this occasion to hopefully save others from a similarly bad experience. I've lived in Belton for almost 30 years and our family and friends have used Youngs Chinese (on odd occasions) for as long as I can remember. It's now under new ownership and I went there last night for a takeaway, ordering the same meal as usual (which had the same description as the previous menu). Unfortunately, the 'quality' of the food was unbelievably poor and the dish I'd chosen, consisted of nothing but dry chicken slices and onions in a greasy, spiced sauce with undercooked rice. It bared no resemblance whatsoever to previous orders and the inedible mess went straight into the bin after a couple of mouthfuls. I'm obviously aware that dish ingredients and taste will probably change with different management and was happy to keep this in mind. However, the food I'd ordered was completely inedible (whatever your individual taste) and If I gave it to a dog, I'd expect to get reported to the RSPCA for animal cruelty! Unknowingly to me, my daughter called Youngs to complain and spoke to the owner. A replacement meal was offered but this was followed by a torrent of abuse over the phone. I returned to the restaurant to give genuine, constructive feedback (as a long-standing customer) and was met with an absolutely appalling attitude from the owner. She was immediately on the offensive, continuously tried to speak over me by raising her voice and had no intention of listening to anything I had to say. This, coupled with her reaction towards my daughter and the horrible aftertaste from my previous order, completely put me off a replacement meat and I was very reluctantly given a refund. I would never normally be spoken to in that manner by anybody and subsequently left the restaurant before I lost my composure. I can only imagine how she treats her staff. In a nutshell - appalling food matched by an equally appalling attitude. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to Youngs under the current management and would rather get into the car to drive to Gorleston than walk a couple of minutes around the corner - I only wish I could give a 'zero star' rating.

Me and my partner went here for food and it was a complete waste of time and money. Noodles greasy, curry thick and gloopy, sweet and sour sauce tasted of nothing and very a disgusting thick consistency, very poor cuts of meat in the curry! Worst Chinese Ive have EVER had! Massive waste of £25!

Food from Young’s Chinese takeaway,affordable excellent food!!large menu to choose from,from cantonese sweet and sour chicken to crispy chilli beef,various noodle dishes.the camp where we stayed is only 5 mins drive from Young’s,we stayed at 1 pine grove “beautiful caravan”every night we went to Young’s to pick up our excellent quality foood,even chips and some western food were available on their menu!!

Some takeaways use microwaves to speed up the time but defo not this one. The Lemon Chicken was still crispy and the ribs were just like when I went to Hong Kong. I'm usually a headstrong critic of takeaways but this place I could not say anything bad other than the cheesy driver.

This takeaway was really very good had to wait only because they cook fresh to order but well worth the wait

Had the family down over the weekend from London and treated ourselves to Youngs chinese takeaway. SOOOOOO glad we did! Food was gorgeous, HOT TASTY AND DELICIOUS! had plenty to go around and enough for the next day too! Everyone loved it! Great Food.... DO NOT hesitate to try them! New management are friendly and really helpful. Can not wait for the weekend again this will be our weekly treat!

Had the unfortunate pleasure of ordering ribs from youngs last night Had id not been so tired they woukd have gone back ! They were luke warm itself and the BbQ sauce was thick and congealed Never again Microwaved crap !! and poor portions Previous owners tastier and cheaper

Get a takeaway most weekends, really tasty food freshly cooked, always good food would definitely recommend.

No vas a conseguir una mejor Chino en cualquier lugar del área local. ! La comida es fresca y deliciosa. Yo podía comer la comida todos los días es tan bueno. Y los chicos en el mostrador de recepción es muy amable y alegre. Si es el fin de semana hay que esperar un poco para comer, ya que estan muy ocupados. Pero, así que vale la pena la espera. Gracias Jóvenes por tomar en la gestión han hecho un gran trabajo con la comida es mucho mejor.

Since the new owners took over in the last few months ,the food quality has improved dramatically. The food is fresh ,hot and tasty.

I always order the same to compare with other takeaways, this was the best I've had, So fresh, everything cooked perfect, hot, and reasonably priced, We will definatley use It again, and it was ready on time. Thank you.

We recently moved to Belton and this place is just around the corner. Does not do fish and chips although there are a few English dishes as my wife is not keen on Chinese food. The food was all good and there is a large selection of dishes.

This takeaway is a real rip off and not at all authentic. A lot of Chinese takeaways use the old trick of "bulking" up with onions and peas and this is one of them. Also the food is bland and too expensive for what it is.

Used this takeaway whilst on holiday in the area. The service was good and the food was good. The best I found in the area.

So we were staying at a local campsite and wanted a Chinese meal. Youngs looked the more promising of the two local takeaways that we saw and has a varied menu.ProsThere is a good range of dishes on the menu.It's next to a free cash machine and Tesco express.It has free parking next to the row of shops.ConsFood quality was variable.Poor customer service.Does not take cards.We ordered a range of food and the quality was mixed. We found prawn crackers to be bland and unappealing. Egg fried rice was stodgy and bland. Rice noodles were OK. Our spicy prawn dish was very tasty though and other chicken and veg dishes were acceptable.Customer service was poor. There was a young lady who had been hired to manage the till and phones and she was doing a good job. I had asked for a slight variation to a dish. The chicken with cashew nuts didn't come with yellowbean sauce so I asked for that. A lady who I presume was the owner appeared and looked at me as if I was being difficult and said one word ... 'No'. Oh well.So, he food was ok, however quality and service falls short of many other takeaways. This restaurant is takeaway only.
