Has been at the top for at least the 40yrs plus I have been eating there and still the best

We were up in Blackpool for the day and fancied fish and chips for lunch. After a quick search on Google we decided to give Yorkshire Fisheries a go and we were not disappointed. Everything was freshly cooked and certainly not oily like some places. Highly recommended. Visited again 3 years later and still just as good. Ignore all the negative reviews!

The best fish and chips we've ever had!

First time visiting and wish i had visited before. The fish, chips & mushy peas we're very tasty and the service we received was excellent. Will definitely be calling again and i highly recommend it

I think I just ate the best fish & chips of my life. The chips were light and fluffy, creamy even. The fish was moist in a good way and the batter was crispy with no grease in sight. I ate it all which I never do. And then there's the curry sauce. They warned it was spicy but I didn't believe them. When it arrived I saw it had a lot of red chillies in it to my glee, think hot chilli sauce turned into a gravy, again delicious. When I said all of the above to the owner she told me to come at the peak of the spud season because right now it's at the end and it'd be yet more delicious.

Food was amazing. Service was fast and friendly. The price was excellent and the whole experience was exactly what I had in mind for Fish & Chips at the seaside. After people left their tables, the plates were cleared and the tables and seats were sprayed and wiped. This place cares about their food, their customers and their reputation as one of the best in the area, and that care really shows. I might never go back to Blackpool, but if I do, I’ll eat here.

U might fry your fish in seperate vegetabler oil fryer but its still contaminted with the pork chicken nuggets and ur hamburger oil dripping after its fried and put in the food warmer that not suitable for vegetarian or muslim

[No.1 in Blackpool! Maybe the best in the UK! ? ] Yorkshire Fisheries fish and chips were really delicious. I think it's the best in Blackpool, and honestly I think it's one of the best in the UK as a whole. Of course, I haven't tasted all the restaurants in the UK, but it was still delicious!

A fantastic find, such a friendly welcoming restaurant, nothing too much trouble..portion sizes amazing and the best tasting fish we've ever had..we shall be back.. #absolutely gorgeous.

Whilst in Blackpool and niece wanting the standard seaside fish & chips, checked Google, this place ranked highly and also being from Yorkshire swayed us to walk a little extra. So pleased we did and worthy of the reviews, decent food, child’s portion for an 8 year old was more than enough and the stand out was how super friendly all the staff were. Was already filling up super early which tells its own story.

Lovely staff (we got approached multiple times and asked if we enjoyed our food), both cod and haddock were amazing, tasty and crispy batter, chips were okay (but could have been better) ☺️

Really enjoyed our lunch. Staff were great and there's a nice, welcoming atmosphere about the place. Fish perfectly cooked, great chips and a fine cup of tea. Thanks to all the staff, especially Ilona. We'll be back every time we come to Blackpool.

Probably the best chippy in the UK. From the service with a smile to the fabulous fish and chips,you'd find it difficult to get better. Keep it up a model of how to run a public facing business.

This is our second visit and been outstanding both times. Had the cod, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Not sure what they put in the curry sauce but I’d eat it with anything it’s that good. A must try if you’re in Blackpool.

The food was fresh, beautiful and quickly served. The venue is very clean and tidy. The booking over the phone was easy and Maria was polite and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Walked past this place countless times but finally walked in and really impressed. Lunchtime on a Saturday but plenty of helpful efficient staff and seated quickly. Fish, chips and mushy peas spot on. Was advised curry sauce was spicy but perfect if that's your thing. Will definitely come again.

I made the trip from Manchester to Blackpool just to try this place as it gets fantastic reviews online, both in writing and video reviews. I've tried to eat here twice before, but it's been closed for staff holidays when I've turned up. So I made sure it was open today before making the 50 minute journey. I was disappointed. It's just an average chippy. It was nice, don't get me wrong, I just don't feel that it lived up to the reviews, especially when compared to the likes of Trenchers in Whitby, Whiteheads in Hornsea, or even my usual go to, Sykes in Swinton. This was just average. I had haddock, chips and curry sauce. I thought that the haddock and chips were worthy of the £8.70 price tag, which is about average these days for the portion size I got. I waited about 15 minutes as the fish was freshly cooked. The batter wasn't that crisp though, but that could be down to us walking for 5 minutes before sitting to eat, and it may have been softened by the steam. The curry sauce was a proper traditional English chippy curry sauce. One of the best I've had. I feel it's a bit cheeky calling themselves Yorkshire Fisheries though, as they cook in oil, not fat. That's a bit of a disappointment. Yes, not all chippies in Yorkshire use fat, but most do, and the name gives the impression you're going to get traditional Yorkshire chips, in Lancashire 😂. Maybe that's one of the reasons I felt let down 🤷‍♂️ I have to mention the lady who served us. I had our two pomeranians with us, and ordered a sausage for them. I asked if she minded cutting it for them, as they're really small dogs. She took about 5 minutes and cut it really really small for them, which was lovely. I would eat here again. There was nothing bad about the meal. My disappointment was that it wasn't the amazing experience reviews have lead me to believe it would be.

This is my go-to chippy in Blackpool. There are many low price alternatives but this place is worth every penny! Large portions. Spicy curry and a choice of batter. By 1pm on the Saturday I visited it was packed. Folk queuing which speaks volumes.

Great place to sit down for fish and chips and more. Freshly cooked and even a light and normal batter for fish. Helpings were good sized, and service with a smile. Perfect for families. Some big tables. No beer/alcohol. Closes at 7pm.

Good location from Blackpool Tower, Nice friendly, welcoming staff. Lots of spaces to sit doen. Great hygiene, staff always cleaning the table and wiping down the seats. Menu is great lots of combination of traditional chippy meals. I had a fish with an option for 1/2 chips, so I didn't need to have a big pile of chips, which other chippy's don't do that. Their curry sauce is the very spicy kinds and it was delicious. I'll go there again next time I'm that way. Very good, really recommend.

Times have changed. For decades, the king of fish and chips in Blackpool used to be The Cottage, but, alas, it is not the place it used to be. The crown has been passed to Yorkshire Fisheries, which, apart from the name, offers one of the finest fish and chip dining experience in the North West. Friendly service, excellent beautifully-cooked fresh fish and all the standard accoutrements. Fantastic value for money as well. You'll have to go to Blackpool town centre to find them, which may be a plus, or, in our case, a minus, but it was worth the trip. Thank you - great job.

Had X2 Cod Special with 1 peas 1 curry. I was a little disappointed with the size of the fish, but otherwise, I was very happy. I would happily go back.

OMG, I was lucky 18 months ago to be in Newquay where I had one of the BEST fish and chips takes out, chips were fried in beef gravy . This place is on a par.. see picture. Really good.. I know there are quite a few chippys in BP... Difficult to see how you can top this. Keep it up, pure quality. Need to reduce prices a bit, Tower Fisheries very good and half what you charge.

As soon as you step through the door, you feel like you're home. The service was quick and friendly. We had haddock (with lemon and parsley) and chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, bread & butter, tea, and 7 up. It was delicious! Curry sauce was spicy (but not too much). The fish and chips were crispy, and the peas were classic. Highly recommend

This is the best fish and chips in Blackpool. A real old fashioned fish and chip shop - I don't mean that in a bad way but that it serves exactly what a chippy should, no messing with kebabs. It is nice to have table service too. Worth the 10ish minute walk from the front. Quality was excellent and price is fair for that quality. The batter is nice and you have the option of a lighter batter but I found it perfectly good as it was, not heavy. The chips were cooked to perfection. Only point is that when they say 'peas' for the kids meal there is only one option mushy so if your kids prefer garden peas just make sure you know that.

Worst fish & chips I've ever tasted. Fish was hard?? Batter swimming in oil. Don't get me started on the mushy peas and gravy lol. Do it yourself, cheaper and taste much better than this dog food

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed! Family were visiting after Christmas and wanted to see the illuminations. They love fish and chips as well so after reading reviews, we decided to visit. Seven of us, including three children arrived at 5.45pm and were shown straight to a table even though it was busy. Our order was taken quickly. There was a slight wait for food but it was worth waiting for and not a problem. All the staff were very friendly, providing great service with a smile. The food was outstanding and could not be faulted. Great value for money too. We will definitely return again. Thank you.
