Amazing fish and chips as ever, but what really made my visit special today was the lovely, friendly and very smiley service from Alona. She is a credit to the restaurant!

Great place to sit down for fish and chips and more. Freshly cooked and even a light and normal batter for fish. Helpings were good sized, and service with a smile. Perfect for families. Some big tables. No beer/alcohol. Closes at 7pm.

Great service, lovely welcome and wonderful fish and chips. Right in the centre of town. Nice options on the menu for portion sizes. Great value. Why did we go to Harry Ramsdens last time - we should have gone here. Much better.

Fantastic place to eat. The cod was probably the best any of us has ever had. We were served by Kenzie who looked after us well. Will definitely remember and recommend.

Great traditional fish and chip restaurant. Food was good, staff were so friendly and helpful. In the nicest possible way, it's like having tea at your grans.

Quality food, reasonable prices and the staff are super friendly! Definitely worth the trip off of the front, we would not go anywhere else for our chippy now, 100% recommend. The portions are large too, the bear curry sauce!

Times have changed. For decades, the king of fish and chips in Blackpool used to be The Cottage, but, alas, it is not the place it used to be. The crown has been passed to Yorkshire Fisheries, which, apart from the name, offers one of the finest fish and chip dining experience in the North West. Friendly service, excellent beautifully-cooked fresh fish and all the standard accoutrements. Fantastic value for money as well. You'll have to go to Blackpool town centre to find them, which may be a plus, or, in our case, a minus, but it was worth the trip. Thank you - great job.

Had X2 Cod Special with 1 peas 1 curry. I was a little disappointed with the size of the fish, but otherwise, I was very happy. I would happily go back.

OMG, I was lucky 18 months ago to be in Newquay where I had one of the BEST fish and chips takes out, chips were fried in beef gravy . This place is on a par.. see picture. Really good.. I know there are quite a few chippys in BP... Difficult to see how you can top this. Keep it up, pure quality. Need to reduce prices a bit, Tower Fisheries very good and half what you charge.

Probably most likely the best chippy on fylde coast I've tryed them all this is excellent fish chips tea bread curry you won't find better anywhere else on folders coast definitely be back soon

As soon as you step through the door, you feel like you're home. The service was quick and friendly. We had haddock (with lemon and parsley) and chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, bread & butter, tea, and 7 up. It was delicious! Curry sauce was spicy (but not too much). The fish and chips were crispy, and the peas were classic. Highly recommend

Best fish n chips in years around amazing

Our new go to chippy in Blackpool! So fresh and tasty and a decent portion size. The family loved it. I can see why this is the number 1 chippy in Blackpool.

Family loved this place. Food good. Only problem is toilets could do with a bit of attention.

Great food, lovely fish, light batter, perfect

This is the best fish and chips in Blackpool. A real old fashioned fish and chip shop - I don't mean that in a bad way but that it serves exactly what a chippy should, no messing with kebabs. It is nice to have table service too. Worth the 10ish minute walk from the front. Quality was excellent and price is fair for that quality. The batter is nice and you have the option of a lighter batter but I found it perfectly good as it was, not heavy. The chips were cooked to perfection. Only point is that when they say 'peas' for the kids meal there is only one option mushy so if your kids prefer garden peas just make sure you know that.

Worst fish & chips I've ever tasted. Fish was hard?? Batter swimming in oil. Don't get me started on the mushy peas and gravy lol. Do it yourself, cheaper and taste much better than this dog food

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed! Family were visiting after Christmas and wanted to see the illuminations. They love fish and chips as well so after reading reviews, we decided to visit. Seven of us, including three children arrived at 5.45pm and were shown straight to a table even though it was busy. Our order was taken quickly. There was a slight wait for food but it was worth waiting for and not a problem. All the staff were very friendly, providing great service with a smile. The food was outstanding and could not be faulted. Great value for money too. We will definitely return again. Thank you.

After reading the reviews I was so looking forward to this place. We ordered the Cod special and a chicken burger with chips. The fish was actually decent maybe 7/10 the chips weren't great though, so undercooked . The chicken burger was more like a chicken pasty and was served dry no salad or sauce. The service was good although because the place wasn't busy the staff just stared at us waiting for us to finish. Sorry but it wasn't for us.

Have seen this establishment on several YouTube reviews and have been wanting to try it for a long time. Every review I’ve seen was a positive one with some saying it’s the best fish and chips in Blackpool. Finally got the chance to visit for lunch one Tuesday in November. Upon entering we were warmly greeted. Show to a table. I’m currently having to use a walking stick sand I’m cautious about where I sit. The seats here are bench type and not bolted or fixed to the floor. I was shown to one which didn’t have another table / seat behind it and told this would give me more room. That was very thoughtful and a nice start. Menus were on the table and we quickly decided what we were having. My brother went with the haddock special. Fish, chips, choice of one side, slice of bread and butter and a drink for £14.75. I think that’s excellent value compared with many other places. I went for the King sized haddock with chips at £18.95 with a portion of curry sauce at £1.50 and a large coffee at £2.75. The waitress came back to say they had no haddock so would l like cod or they could do me two pieces of haddock. I stuck with the haddock. Again I thought this was good customer service to offer that option. Although I would have liked to have seen just how big the portion size was. Our meals took a while to come out. A sure sign they were being cooked fresh. Have to say we were very impressed. The chips were very good. and a good sized portion. The fish was excellent. Both of us agreed on this and felt it was the nicest piece of haddock we have had for a long, long time. Everything was piping hot. My curry sauce was nice. It had a subtle kick to it. However, I wouldn’t order it again. It masked the taste of my fish n chips and they were best enjoyed on their own. The curry sauce wasn’t really needed. We were asked on a least two occasions if everything was ok with our meals. Customer service was good. I don’t know if they do dessert as never looked or thought about it as we were both stuffed. A couple of tiny issues have stopped me giving it 5 stars. Neither of us enjoyed our drinks. My brother had tea as part of his meal. I had ordered a coffee separately. They have been served well before we got our meal so were cold by the time out meals arrived. I know I didn’t finish my cup. Just wasn’t enjoying it. Disabled access will be an issue for some. There are a couple of steps to get in to the place and it’s not the widest doorway. If you are in a wheelchair I think you will have problems. However, there are strong, robust rails at the entrance and the steps taking you into the larger dining area. Very helpful for those struggling with their mobility. Also I didn’t see a disabled toilet downstairs. The toilets are upstairs with a baby changing room as well. The staff on the whole were very friendly and obliging. Only let down by the guy on the till who took our payment. He didn’t seem to want to engage at all. So overall despite one or two small issues I’d have no hesitation in recommending the fish and chips here and would be more than happy to visit again. But best be quick as I read a few days back the current owners are looking to sell. They have set a high bar for any new owners coming in.

Ordered Haddock and Chips, both are very tasty. Staffs are friendly and passionate, and the dining atmosphere is warm.

We always visit here for fish and chips when we visit Blackpool . It can be very busy at times with a short wait but it’s worth it . Varied menu and a specials board . They have a take out shop next door if you don’t want to sit down . Highly recommended

Taste nice,good sized portion but chips were nearly half raw

We found the place after mazing through a labyrinth of Blackpool side roads and back roads for 20 mins. But it was really worth it. It's a historical chippy beautifully kept and run for more than a century. The food was nice though not extraordinary. But the people were fantastic, very helpful and caring and efficient. We made friends with a lovely Ukrainian lady whose bright smile and kindness made the dinner much more delightful. Hundred percent recommended.

Out of all the fish and chips shops in Blackpool, this is the best value for money, and quality of the food is great, it must have been good as there was a 30 min wait for takeaway. Even the child portions were perfect for an adult. Couldn't fault them, absolutely perfect.

I've lost track of how many visits we've made to Yorkshire Fisheries, wouldn't go anywhere else! 5 star delicious freshly prepared food, very attentive staff all in a spotless environment. Superb value, we simply couldn't improve on Yorkshire Fisheries. We were there on 25/10/24 & were served by Alona. She was delightful & we look forward to seeing her again next time.

One of the best in the UK! We visited on a short trip to Blackpool looking for decent fish and chips rather than tourist stodge from the promenade. Yorkshire fisheries was a great find. We come from the midlands where Cod’s Scallops has won many UK awards and accolades. I believe Yorkshire fisheries could certainly give them some competition. Everything perfect 👌

Cod & chips absolutely delicious 😋

We've been coming here for several years but had not been for some time due to usually having a dog with us and not being able to sit in. Went for lunch yesterday on a mild but very busy Saturday. We both had the Cod special, usual fish, chips, choice of side (peas, curry or gravy) bread and butter and a cup of tea. Not bad value for £14.75 can upgrade to larger fish for another £4 and Haddock also available. Fish was lovely and decent size. The batter is very tasty, something to savour rather than just to protect the fish. Friendly and efficient place and spotlessly clean, tables being fully cleaned down and floor swept within seconds of a table being vacated. We are spoilt for chippies in our area but this is perhaps the best of the lot

I visit this place each time I'm in Blackpool fantastic food and nothing is ever too much for the staff. I would strongly recommend a visit to this place. I strongly suggest that this is a better meal and value for money than a well known competitor in the area.

Well worth all it's recommendations. Fish was the best I've had in a long time, beautiful white fish covered in a light and fluffy batter. Will definitely go again if I'm in the area.

Visited here with wife daughter Saturday 5th October on trip to Blackpool to see fireworks and went to eat here what can we say best fish chips in Blackpool others don't even come close you might have to wait a bit but its worth it highly recommended 10 out 10 excellent food and lovely staff and service

Went for a dine in, but too busy so had a takeaway instead. Even for that there was a 40 minute wait. We were told about the wait before we ordered. It was firework night in Blackpool so I guess it was exceptionally busy. It was well worth the wait though. The food was delicious. Crisp batter on the fish and chips that were crisp on the outside but soft in the middle. Next time in Blackpool this is where I will be going.
