I have tried many coffee shops around Birmingham and I have to say this is the best by far. The coffee shop itself is beautiful and uses pieces of art from the actual gallery. It is the top place for insta pics! The coffee is beautifully made and tastes amazing and the staff are so genuinely friendly and passionate about what they’re doing. That passion really comes through in the flavour. Will and Antonio made our trip here really enjoyable ! I recommend getting the matcha brownie ;)

Me and my girlfriends frequent this coffee shop, it is the best coffee you will find in the whole of Birmingham! Staff are lovely, - especially William and Antonio - cakes are delicious and coffees are out of this world! The interior design of the cafe is lovely, as well as a beautiful outdoor seating area. Love this place and you will too!

Family of 4. 2 children 4 & 8. Popped in here as visiting the ikon. Lovely atmosphere and the waiting team were polite and engaging. Coffee was nice, Food was OK, but didn’t justify the 50min wait for our food to be delivered. Wasn’t particularly busy, so wait was surprising. Beware, kids had eggs on toast and bacon / egg roll which came covered in chives and a spice mix. I liked it in mine, but if like us your kids don’t like spice I’d check & mention when ordering.

Having travelled from home by train, we needed lunch before visiting the Ikon Gallery and this was well placed for our custom. I had Yorks’ house breakfast (Thick cut bacon, pork sausage, poached egg, baked beans, roasted mushroom, sourdough toast, dukkah potatoes) delivered in a hot skillet. My wife had Chicago honey fried chicken (Bourbon fried chicken, oak smoked crispy bacon, smoked honey, cornbread muffin). Both were delicious, though the chicken was a bit sweet, and served with a smile.

I'll start by saying the food I had was good, I've eaten at a different Yorks a few times previously. The service wasn't great, I never received my drink even though I was asked twice what I wanted, I wasn't charged though. I did have extras with my food that I was overcharged for, when I queried the amount I was given the receipt to show I was overcharged, I had to ask for a copy of the menu to prove it had happened. It was the way I was palmed off was the most frustrating, I didn't have time to wait around for the refund and will not use this branch again.

We came for the great exhibitions which had just opened, but timed our visit as we had seen there was a brunch cafe. Wow! An amazing and, to us at least, highly original taste experience. Absolutely delicious. We had the Arabian buttered eggs and the Green Breakfast. Great service as well.

After spending the morning exploring the Ikon gallery we decided to have a spot of lunch at this delightful café. The atmosphere was great, our drinks were delicious and the staff were very attentive. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed that it took up to an hour to bring out our orders of poached eggs which were also cold!! We wouldn’t visit again for food but would definitely stop by for a coffee.

We visited with our two children aged 3 and 22 months last week. Our visit was mixed overall. Service was a little abrupt; my husband was in the middle of a sentence ordering his food when the server stopped listening to acknowledge another customer. Payment was taken straight away on ordering, which I felt was unusual in a cafe doing table service. It almost felt as though no one needed to bother with us after that because we had paid.. There were issues with the menu where multiple items weren’t available, which was disappointing (the server said this was a supply issue due to food deliveries having not yet come on the day). I asked for two large lattes and one was regular. There was no check by staff to see how everything was after our food and coffees had come out, so we didn’t have the opportunity to alert staff to this (presumably we had paid for two large lattes..). We were initially planning on staying for another coffee and to try some of the cakes, which looked nice, but as it was so difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff, we just left. Really disappointing as we have previously visited the York’s on Stephenson St and had a lovely breakfast there. We aren’t local but have relatives living in Birmingham - I wouldn’t recommend this place to them and wouldn’t visit again on our next trip.

Great coffee and lovely, helpful staff. A brilliant location to access from central Birmingham while still being slightly quieter near the canals. Didn’t try any food but from the tables nearby it looks great.

This one I have to do in English. How amazing just to think of your first English breakfast when you’ve just moved in England. Well this is the place. I was a bit puzzled about the food here. I’m not anymore. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the spices right, and the best surprise was the bread (and I’m french). So yeah, definitely a must-go.

We both ordered the Sourdough bread with poached eggs. Eggs cooked perfectly and bread lightly toasted. Delicious . I had a flat white and my daughter had a hot chocolate which we drank in lively Saturday morning atmosphere. Nat a bad price...will definitely return

I ordered Turkish eggs because the menu read well. I was disappointed in the portion and the contents considering it cost £8.50. We also asked for cappuccinos. These were served without chocolate sprinkle. When I asked the bespectacled lady with a nose clip about the lack of chocolate she very sternly said, "We don't do sprinkles".

Was here today with a friend. Enjoyed a latte and white choc and raspberry blondie. I did enjoy them but will be honest and say I prefer the coffee and cakes at Boston Tea Party. York’s is a nice cafe, trendy. Had an earl grey tea too which was nice. Not remarkable but nice enough. Have been here in summer and it has a nice outside area. Never eaten hot food so can’t comment but a pleasant enough afternoon.
