Nice station but why are TPE always so delayed or cancelled

York is beautiful place. York train station is not an exception. What we experience at station was great customer service by laddie at ticket counter she was really professional and very helpful. 10/10 for her it was morning about 11am on 16 March.

Clean station, can be cold so wrap up!

Love the place. Wheelchairs accessibility is average to poor as the paths are terrible and it's so busy. The historic nature of the city is beautiful but not too practical if you have navigation needs

I bought tickets for a journey I was making from my hometown of Hixon Staffordshire while I was in Yorkshire I was in York Station to drop off 2 Chinese friends who were going to Edinburgh for the weekend as tourists So I popped into the Ticket Office where Carole helped me get the best possible priced tickets for my journey a return trip from Stafford to Rainham (Kent) she was an absolute Diamond gave me such good advice, suggested that I get. Senior Rail Pass (I’m 69 years young) she even applied and issued me this Senior Rail Pass Card that saved me 30% on this ticket and all future Tickets I purchase, I feel so lucky to hade met this lady, a really nice person, when I told her your an angel she replied “ I’m only Doing my Job”, what a fantastic lady, Thank You Carole 🥳🥳🥳🚂🚂🚂🚂🚇🚇🚇

It is a spacious station and it is very easy to find your way.

A very nice clean station with lots of display notices and friendly and helpful staff. There are free toilets in the station and also free heated waiting areas. Lots of people catch connecting trains from this station as it is a major railway junction to other cities.

A lovely city, even when it's dank and murky weather.

The modest station entrance located in the center takes on a gigantic appearance when you enter. There are sockets in the waiting rooms. The trains arrive exactly on time.

For the love of God, fix the signalling issues that have plagued the station for at least the 7 years I've gone through here

Is this the toilet pan to hell? Full of people with either confusion or anger on their faces, due to the abysmal service. Most trains delayed or cancelled, and last minute platform information, with confusing platform markings. I plan on never using trains again, and certainly never coming to this hole.

The town or the station? You aren't asking me clear questions Google. I thought with your Ai experience I might get fewer silly (stupid?) questions.

Actually one of the better stations in uk! Firstly it has great accessibility, marked paths for people going up and down stairs, working escalators, open and accessible toilets, waiting rooms that are closed and warm, loads of coffee shops and helpful staff.

York Station is a delightful little train station that perfectly complements the historic city it serves. The station itself is not too large, making it easy to navigate and find your way around. One of the things I love about York Station is its convenience. You can easily hail a cab right outside, and there are several convenient stores inside where you can grab snacks, drinks, or last-minute essentials. Overall, York Station is a charming and well-equipped hub that makes traveling to and from the city a breeze.

As railway stations go, this one definitely has trains in it, so that's good.

I love York as it has so much to do and see. The river cruise is worth doing, and so is York Museum and Clifford's tower. A must see is The Shambles and York Minster. The Treasurers house is worth a visit.

My experience with the night shift guys who were working at the york railway station was totally awful, i was struggling with paying at the machines and when i asked the securities to help me out they kept showing me other securities who could do that work for until i met Mr Michael who jokely told me he isnt allowed to help anyone and its not part of his job to help people out and sent me again to one of the liner assistant guys who was busy on his phone, when i approached him politely and asked him to help me out he first came with alot of excuses and advised me to get in the train and pay it in there and so i realized he was deeping me in trouble, so after asking his names he suddenly changed and agreed to help me and told me to go to the machines and he will come after he has done clearing one of the trains of which i was remaining with 5mins to catch with my train, i cant understand why the staffs are acting this way inspite of being paid, their customer service isnt right at all... i wouldnt advice anyone who will be struggling to seek help from the staffs over there its better to ask the passengers rather than asking staff for help

Excellent city it's been twenty year's still has it's historical feel about the city

Functional. Unchanged since I first travelled to and from the station in the early 1990s.

York is a lovely Victorian station with brilliant transport links. But there is always a disgusting mess in the bathroom as if it hasn't been cleaned and there is no way to get in contact with customer services, the phone number only goes to a main LNER switchboard. It's as you would expect a train station to be, but you shouldn't expect any more than the basics. Alt: the photo shows a blocked sink with mould on the surrounds.

If you need help DO NOT ask the LNER staff. My friend asked at the help desk for any nearby left luggage facilities and was told Monkgate a mile away . There is actually left luggage storage at the station near the long stay car park. 2 people in our party asked for help with tickets and on both occasions were sold the tickets for almost double the price they could be found on train line , there are some lovely LNER staff but not at York help or information desk

Very beautiful Victorian station with very friendly and welcoming staff. We unexpectedly missed our train to London and a tall blond staff member helped us sort out our ride. She is funny, warm and friendly, which greatly relieved our anxiety. We really felt warm and happy to meet such a lovely person during the trip. Although I don’t know your name, I will always remember your smile😊Thank you! Love York forever.

Filthy place...toilet doors missing roof needs a good clean not enough seats..Why have glass if it can't let light through. Looks like it's come from Russia in 1960. Not just York..just British train stations as a whole . Ran down

A good station easily accessible

The first time I came here, I thought it was a very cultural station. Because I needed to find the exit to the hotel, I asked the service staff in the station. They were kind and explained clearly. As expected, I went all the way to the reserved hotel. It was a happy experience. York people are so friendly, I like...

Great city and selection of shops and so many historical sites to visit

It's a nice, big city with a lot of potential. You can work and live in a quiet neighborhood because it's about a 20-minute walk to the center. There is everything you need for a peaceful life.

York was lovely to walk around and see. Very very busy despite us visiting mid week. Parking is expensive (£20 for over 5 hours) Nice walk along the river, the shambles, etc. Quite a few beggars around the city.

Unmissable city. Beautiful places to visit, such as the gardens of the old abbey, the castle tower, Yorkminster, the city wall and other tourist attractions. I visited twice and it wasn't enough to see everything. I suggest a three-day stay with time to take tours with guides telling you the history of the city. Also unmissable is the street where they smoked a scene from Harry Potter and the best Fudge in the city

Nice enough station but the fares charged from here are utterly criminal. A day return to Leeds is £17.50. The national living wage is £11.44. It's not right or fair to ask people to sacrifice an hour and a half's wages each day for the privilege of getting to work, especially since the train's going anyway with or without them.

Serviceable train station, decent amenities

Busy with comfortable waiting area. Clear reat time information boards. Very clean. Large cycle park. Excellent bar with largest choice of real beers that I have seen (over 25 hand pulled - the only time i was wished my train would be late!)

York is a fun weekend break away. Amazing culture from the Romans to the vikings. Loads of places to enjoy hot chocolate and mead at Valhalla like a true viking. Also so many choices to choose for dinner.

A great place to visit lots to see and do

Fantastic place to visit,full of history. Great place to eat or have a drink. Have a walk down by the river, take a river boat trip, visit historical places or enjoy a bit of shopping!!!

Beautiful historic station! Easy to navigate within and walkable from the city centre. The facilities are well looked after with toilets available on both sides that seem to be well cared for any time I've been there. There are also lots of options for food and drink takeaways, to make any journey a little bit more comfortable. There are small seating areas sprinkled throughout in case you want a place to rest and wait. If you get a chance (and missed it while in town) stop by the York Gin Distilerry shop right at the entrance! They'll walk you through their process and history, while allowing you unlimited samples. A great last minute souvenir or gift.

A decent train station. The station is very large and currently the male toilets are a long way away from the main concourse so take consideration if you go to them regarding train times.

Lovely place lots to see and places to eat. Quite expensive though if you want to go in York Minster, The Jorvik Viking place, the Dungeon experience and the different Musuems. Being pensioners we couldn't afford to do these things, but we enjoyed walking around the lovely streets looking at the amazing architecture.

Lovely day out in York. Wasn't too busy. Had great food in the food area at the Shambles. The fish bites from the fish and chip stall (next to the crepe place) are delicious especially with lemon pepper seasoning.

York is a beautiful, well looked after station, conveniently located for the city centre. It has plenty of facilities, and regular services to local destinations, as well as long distance services across England and Scotland. The station is always clean and tidy, it is easy to navigate, and there are plenty of friendly staff on hand to help. There is a ticket office available, although it is rather hidden, and would be better positioned where Sainsbury's currently is (where it used to be). There is a huge variety of trains to see, turning the station into a spotters paradise.

York always a lovely city to visit but Not as busy as it used to be.this is most lightly to previous COVID restrictions.

Fabulous day out visiting Xmas Market

A fine building of which I have many happy memories dating back to the 1950's. Sadly, having returned to York after 10 years away, I found a station bereft of any of the atmosphere that made the station a pleasurable place to be. It now has the feel of a near- empty warehouse and the catering facilities are appalling

Parking an absolute joke! They have closed the main commuter car parks to develop housing (disguised as a green project). Someone cashing in I suspect! Actual train users treated with no regard once again. An absolute disgrace and scandal!

Lots to see and do, make sure you plan what you want to do
