Lovely staff. Good food. Lots of tables, so a great place to eat in York.

Great restaurant with excellent food & service, outside sitting great (was warm anyway) plenty of outside heaters (not required 😁👍)

Varied menu, great food and good value.

Flavours are ok, but food we were given was far too salty. Tested on 4 different meals. Service pleasant and responsive, although one person refused to take dirty plates away whilst one of us was still eating. I am not sure why it was that way. Atmosphere ok however the place is packed with CCTV, on average 1 camera per 2 tables.

We had the best experience. We were late for our reservation and they still managed to find a table for us. The service was amazing, Alice was our server and she was so so lovely! Our food came within 10 minutes of ordering and it was incredible!

Salmon is mint, steak is mint and garlic bread is unholy

All 6 of us agreed that the food, service and ambience today was fantastic. Catered for all our needs. Definitely recommend.

Loved it! We did not have a reservation, but luckily there was a table for us (8 pm Friday night). The service was good and they were very quick. The portions were very good and the food was lovely for a great price. We went with the dinner menu which is a very good deal. Would recommend!

Attentive service, extensive menu choices. We only wanted a small bite to eat and this was perfect, the larger dishes coming out also looked superb.

Booked here for valentine's Day. The food is excellent but what really stood out to me was the customer service, it was really clear these guys could not do enough to make this a really special evening. Will absolutely be back.

Ate here last weekend (Feb 2025) as part of a big group for a birthday meal. The service was great, friendly and just the right pace and it was good value. The food was tasty and all fresh, I had calamari then lasagna and tiramisu, all excellent, maybe the best tiramisu I've ever eaten. Everyone in our group of 16 was happy with their food. They also brought out an extra birthday dessert for my dad which was really kind. Definitely recommend.

Really poorly maintained, very disappointing. We travelled a long way to have a special New Year's Eve. Seats falling to bits and a cocktail made with "squirty cream". The staff tried and the food was edible but not a restaurant for me.

Food is 10/10. Restaurant has a lovely vibe to it. We was a table of 8 and was walk in guests and was accommodated no problem. Would definitely recommend.

Would not let us in with a pushchair. Told us there was no room, through the windows we could see masses of empty tables, only 2 were occupied that we could see. Was met at the door by a member of staff quite abruptly. Avoid if you have a pushchair. Or even maybe a wheelchair because if they don’t have room for pushchairs then surely a wheelchair wouldn’t fit? Discrimination at its best here.

Had a lovely time at this restaurant. Although it was very busy when we went and short staffed, the waitress was very friendly and polite. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. In my opinion, the food was nice but there is space for improvement.

Nice menu, outstanding service but disappointed that the pizza looked like it came out of a supermarket box rather than made fresh.

We were stopping in York for a couple of nights, and booked this restaurant for dinner and the menu looked great. We were greeted and sat down straight away into a semi-full restaurant. Our drinks order was taken and these arrived swiftly. We opted for the three course set menu (three courses for £25, it's hard to say no to that!). All three courses were amazing, I couldn't criticize it at all. Portion sizes were very generous and food tasted great. Our server was amazing and checked back on us, was friendly and professional, and made for a really pleasant experience. The optional service charge wasn't a problem (I can see someone complained in a previous review) as the staff really deserved every penny - in fact I left them extra too for their outstanding service! 10/10 amazing food, amazing service, will definitely return if back in York and recommend to anyone visiting.

The staff were all lovely and attentive. The food was perfect, arriving quickly and hot with large portions. The bread especially was our favourite thing about the evening.

We visited mid-afternoon and the restaurant was empty, so I can't comment on the atmosphere. The food was really good, my only criticism was the optional service charge that was automatically added to the bill, as there were only two of us eating. It seems to be an increasingly common thing for restaurants to add in a service charge - this isn't the USA and UK staff earn enough money to live off - a service charge should only be added to tip staff for exceptional efforts, hence they've lost 2 stars from the overall rating.

Service was attentive but impersonal, very rushed and felt as if Mains were left out whilst we finished starters Food was very bad, Cold veg & cold duck Greasy pork belly again with cold veg The service charge for a couple dining went on to our bill automatically. But this didn’t feel deserved, in this case. For £94 in total really not worth the money Avoid if possible

Ooh this was lovely! Great that this place had a gluten free menu too! We stayed a night in York, never having done so before and was a bit stumped for tea. So we just wandered through the streets and came across D'vine on Swinegate. It put us off initially as there was nobody else dining and even when we left there was only one other table in, but to be fair it was the Monday of the first week back to school for kids and parents. Inside was slightly dimmed lighting which gave a cosy romantic feel. We enjoyed their choice of music. Everything was clean and tidy. They have clear glass panels with nice black designs on separating various areas, which I particularly liked. The food a starter (deep fried Brie with a jam and a sourdough breads) for hubby gluten free (creamy mushrooms with breads) our mains were the same spaghetti in a creamy sauce with chicken and mushrooms, only hubbys was gluten free. The food was all hot and fresh. Staff were lovely.

Food overpriced & was…average at best. Service was attentive but impersonal, very by the book. The restaurant wasn’t even close to full but the staff member at the front desk quickly turned down a family of 5/6 claiming there was no room for a foldable pushchair. Delicious pizzas and nice range of wine, we enjoyed a late dinner on a Monday night. Service was great and the pizzas were super tasty.

We came to York for a stopover, charming restaurant, very courteous hostesses, very good and plentiful meal. The French !!!

This place is divine. As soon as you walk in, there's lovely friendly staff to great you. Even new staff are knowledgeable about the menu. That speaks volumes, to visit somewhere that ensure their staff are have the tools needed to provide a really lovely experience. Food was amazing with good portion sizes. Nice selection of alcoholic and soft drinks to compliment your meal. There is an amazing aroma/scent throughout that gives a really relaxed, enjoyable, and chilled vibe. We visited for lunch and haven't stopped recommending it since our visit. Best of all the staff are vigilant so you won't feel rushed or pestered but when you need them they are there. The balance is spot on. A really enjoyable experience that will definitely be repeated again soon. Thank you for a making a birthday lunch a special birthday memory.

Fantastic staff and lovely atmosphere. Allocated a seat near a large open window - a great view out onto the streets of gorgeous York. Food was brilliant; would definitely recommend!

My family and I went for my birthday meal and we had a great time! The food was gorgeous 😍 and the atmosphere was perfect. Our server Sophie was so sweet and made our experience even better ❤️ Will deffo be back.

We visited York and were looking for a nice Italian we were recommended somewhere else very well known in York however, we have been there before. We visited D’vine and I can honestly say it was Probably the best pasta arrabbiata I’ve ever had anywhere. We also had garlic bread which was beautiful it was hot and super fresh and tasty. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were amazing. Absolutely loved it and we will definitely go again if we visit York again please try it it’s wonderful ♥️

I hate writing rubbish reviews so I’ll cheer myself up by first saying that the food was pretty good. However, if you like your service with a smile (or any kind of warmth come to think of it), to read the menu, and to finish swallowing before your plate disappears, I’d say you’re probably best off giving it a miss. I hardly ever refuse the service charge but very nearly asked them if they could enter a negative amount. Don’t bother… there look to be lots of other nice places.

Not the greatest food for the price, was very average. Quiet when we went on a Tuesday evening

Staff was really friendly and would recommend the Smoked Salmon Linguine on their menu. Family of 6 came in and staff had no problems with the seating. Every food looked mouth watering and tasted to expectations. Would recommend.

Fantastic food and friendly staff

We had a great time at D’vine and couldn’t recommend more if you’re struggling to choose where to eat in the local area. The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was fast, and the food was fresh, hot, and good quality. We went for the fixed course menu which was a great price and chose the arancini to start which was delicious, followed by a Caesar salad which also didn’t disappoint. We also enjoyed their apple mocktail which was so refreshing and again reasonably priced, the mocktails and cocktails are not to be missed!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here! Staff were very friendly and attentive, but not invasive in any way! Relaxed atmosphere, highlighted by a few diners eating alone, which is nice to see that they feel comfortable enough to do so! Drinks were well priced, and we loved the cocktails! Food was also very well priced. We were pleased to see a lunch menu with ample choice. The quality of the food was also good. We had the burgers and they were really nice. Saw some other people in the restaurant having main menu dishes, and they looked delicious too. Highly Recommend.

We often eat here when visiting York and it's always a lovely experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is always 'devine'. The atmosphere inside is cosy and warm. Never an issue when we visit here and will definitely keep returning.

Went here for valentines with my partner, we ordered a cocktail pitcher - which yielded about 5 drinks, calamari to share as a starter, and I ordered a lamb dish while he ordered a steak. I found the lamb dish to be truly divine - I’d never thought of pairing lamb with halloumi but it worked quite well. My partner wasn’t too impressed by the steak, thought it lacked a bit of flavour but was saved a bit by the peppercorn sauce.

Food was lovely (Brie starter was not fully defrosted / was cool in the middle), nice atmosphere + music, spent £50 on the set menu 3 course lunch for 2 people and extra 30 quid on (x3 cocktails) was not expecting a 10% service charge on top of this - would normally tip given the excellent service but the service charge for 2 people on a lunchtime seemed a bit unfair.

The pasta i ordered sounded great on the menu, it came very fast within 5 minute's which was suspiciously fast, it was watery, very bland and cheap salmon that was prepared horrendously, pricing didn’t reflect on the quality & taste. However the girl who served us was absolutely spot on , really nice. Definitely wouldn’t go back.

We were looking for somewhere different to eat in York and found D'vine. After looking at the menu online we decided to give it a go. We were definitely not disappointed. The service was excellent, all the staff made sure you were looked after and were very attentive. Food was delicious and very well presented, my partner had halloumi to start and mushroom risotto for main, I had the chicken pàte to start with the duck for main and we both said how amazing the dishes were. The vegetarian menu has a great amount of options too which my partner loved. We will not hesitate to go back for food and will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

powdered mashed potato, i showed the waiter who took it away and brought me a new bowl but then the meat was gone from the plate. then I still had to pay full price? staff were rude and accusatory. don't recommend.

Delicious fillet steak and chocolate fondant dessert. My greeter and servers were great/lovely. Only deducting stars because I was dining alone and the good wines I wanted I was told could only be purchased by the bottle 😔 even though the menu showed by the glass. Wine from the alternative plastic menu wasn’t great.

In town with my parents for Christmas and thought this looked like a decent place. The menu looked good anyway. We were sat immediately however sitting down we noticed the upholstery was ripped and some of the fixtures were in poor condition. They will not make any off menu mixed drinks even if they have the ingredients. Starters (humus and mussels) were good. Duck ordered medium was WELL and near inedible. No check in from staff on drinks until after the meal was well finished. Check took 25 minutes after the table was cleared and we confirmed we wanted the check three times. Plenty of other restaurants in town. Go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience at D'vine last weekend. The service was amazing and the atmosphere inside is lovely, felt so intimate. We really liked our food and if it wasn't for having to rush to the cinema we would've loved to stay for dessert. Only thing I didn't like was the price for the halloumi starter felt a bit much for how little you get, but everything else we felt was very fairly priced. Would definitely go back!

Pasta were to spicy so you couldn't feel any other taste , d'vine burger it's better even in McDonald's It is coming with coleslaw salad as a side and the pot it is actually for one bite and the pizza seems to be frozen , and the tips it's included (10%) already. Very disappointing

This is my second visit to D'vine, we came last year after the races as we struggled to book anywhere that allowed a toddler in after 5 pm. The food and staff were that nice we booked again for this visit. And it didn't disappoint. We were greeted by your lovely staff and walked to the table, menu's was passed out and asked for allergies. The food arrived in a reasonable time and all at once for a table of 7. It was hot and well presented. When we finished eating, the staff was quick to move plates and ask for drinks. Overall, it was a great visit again. Thank you, D'vine

Beautiful place to come Staff and food are to die for

Party of 10 for a Saturday night. The food cannot be faulted at all! The service however was incredibly slow when it came to ordering drinks and trying to order more drinks. This left a little distaste when we were presented with a service charge

Really Disappointed Ordered food 2 out of 4 was wrong then one for a vegetarian was brought to the table as a bacon and cheese toastie when she ordered a halloumi burger, we informed a member of staff and she was convinced the bacon and cheese was halloumi. The bacon and cheese toastie was taken away only for the same roll to return with a single piece of halloumi on. Paid extra for a side and only got two tiny pieces of sun dried tomato. They admitted it was there fault but unapologetically charged us £5.00 Service Charge. Won't be returning again. If I could do a 0 stars I would but sadly have to put a 1star. Great first start to a week away year later and still not had an apology

I thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass. It was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The accompanying veggies were fresh and complemented the dish beautifully. The salad was delicious and refreshing. The service was also very good :))

D'vine is a great place to eat, went mid week after work so was quiet didn't need to book. Friendly fast service, great tasting food.

Visited at a quiet time so great for what we wanted. Great food and service was good.

I went with a friend and her two children. We all had a main, with two pizzas, pasta and a salad. For a Saturday the service was okay, but there were issues with food not coming out on time and not being served at all. When it did appear the food was tasty and good quality. Definitely recommend overall, but not necessarily on a Saturday lunchtime.
