Things may have changed but at the time of my visit, the place was terrible. Cold food. Dirt everywhere. Untrained staff. Never again. This visit was before 2023.

Once upon a time, this place was very nice. Clean, helpful stall excellent food. Now, i will never set foot in the place again.

I cant believe this is rated three star on here, its not even worthy of one star, We visited as a couple for lunch, came away hungry and very disappointed as the food was inedible and cold. I dont know where the pictures came from on this site, but they so obviously dont relate to the food on display in YO YO., The meats were overcooked and very chewy, awful. We tried various things as we were hungry, unfortunately most was left on our plate. The cutlery was dirty plates cold, a grim experience all round. Couldnt even fill up on desserts as they were a real joke, fingers of cake cut into four, bite size flapjack, other tasteless stuff and a chocolate fountain that was just a pool of chocolate, no fountain. Dont waste your time or money spend it elsewhere.

Have been many times in the past and thought the place was pretty good, however this has dramatically changed recently. Got there and found out they are no longer selling alcohol because of having no license, the food itself was passable, just. Some of it was over cooked and had been in the holders to long. The staff, who were very very young didn’t seem to have any idea on what they were supposed to be doing. At one point there was a spill of some food in the main walkthrough that took over 20 mins to get cleaned up. I wouldn’t be surprised if the place was closed in the near future as this way of doing business can’t be good, me and my party certainly won’t be returning any time soon.

Completely agree with the awful reviews on here. No idea how this place stays open. The food was lacklustre at best, the crispy duck tasted like fish, the test didn't taste of anything. The place is dirty and the floor sticky - if that's the bit the customers see I dread to think what the kitchen is like. To be fair, when we complained we got half our money back but it is an absolute rip-off at £15 per head as a lot of the food is inedible. Don't waste your money going here, get a takeaway!

Me and my partner went to yo yo for lunch last Saturday 12th November, we have had non stop stomach cramps and diarrhoea. I don't want anyone to suffer

We really enjoyed visiting this place. Everything was clean the food was well cooked and hot. All staff was well trained and polite. They then went for a refurbishment!!!! The place is just dirty.. stains on the ceiling, food surrounding not clean, most food not even warm, beer served was off (no one even noticed), the deserts were disgusting (melted ice cream). Staff uncaring and unsure Of everything….. Never again!!!

There was a really big selection of different foods to try. I couldn't manage to try everything, as I was so full after having tried half of the foods. The foods were all covered by metal lids and steaming hot. Was surprised to see pizza and sushi there too. The desserts could have been a little better. There were thinly sliced shop bought cakes, such as battenberg. There was no ice cream machine, only a choice of vanilla or chocolate ice-cream in tubs with scoops and the chocolate fountain had something else in it with a ladle to scoop it up.

I have visited several times before and was concerned to read the recent reviews. I visited yesterday and found that there was a great choice of food and it was HOT. (The ribs were steaming), I also read comments about the toilets, and on my visit the gents were clean, but the lighting was rather dim. I will certainly go back. What do people expect for what they pay?

The food was basic and nothing you won’t see at any other basic Asian style buffet. Undercooked chicken was on the buffet potentially causing illness. Wouldn’t reccomend. However I will give it that dessert was alright and staff were polite

Have used this restaurant in the past and found very good. Plenty of tasty food and sauces, this time the food was disgusting. For instance the crispy duck.,,, a few scraps of very dry … well something which neither looked like or tasted of duck! As for the deserts, the ice cream was like soup and the rest was shop bought “THINGS” finally, the beer I bought was so cloudy that it was difficult to see through. What a shame.

For a buffet style restaurant, there was a very poor selection of dishes. Food that was there was stale and only half warm or totally dried out. Filthy place that has very poor hygiene. Very poor customer service and you're made to pay BEFORE you eat (I can see why now as no customer would pay for this!). King prawns weren't even de-veined and are full of grit and waste. Terrible place, please avoid!

Money taken up front could make myself understood what I wanted to order for drinks. Drinks delivered one missing had to pay for drink at till took 20 minutes to get it. Avoid this place, we use to be a regular and it’s changed hands was probably the worst mistake we ever made, Air Con broken and leaking, food waste, napkins and cutlery on the floor, 6 empty tables full of plates despite having no customers to serve, food looked ok but was over cooked and the meat looked off and grey. The buffet displays were broken and in a state of dis repair, despite the higher price tag for buffets and carvery in the area. Waitress was cleaning tables with mr muscle window cleaner, not even a sanatising spray….. I am expecting to be I’ll after my visit. Save yourself go somewhere else

I have been going to this place since it opened. It used to be my favourite place with fresh food, great atmosphere and a clean environment. It is now the complete opposite! The recent reviews are spot on, and you’d think that would spur the owners to make drastic improvements to get it back where it used to be! It’s not difficult…serve fresh food, buy new hot food trays (current ones are broken and have mould on), and don’t charge nearly £19 for dry and inedible food!! I won’t be going again unfortunately…there’s only one way this restaurant is going at this rate.

Sunday evening 26/9/21. There was very minimal food available. The food was hard and tasteless. They eventually replenished the food but by that time we wasn't in the mood to eat anything. We asked for a refund, we wasn't able to get one as there was no manager on site. We waited 2 hours for a manager to turn up and still wasn't able to get a refund. The tables in the restaurant were dirty. 3 tables still had old plates with food on them. 15 minutes before the manager turned up all the staff decided to start cleaning and replenishing.We won't be going again.

What a dirty place. Arrived at 4.45pm and charged £15.95 a head. At least 4 selections were missing. The sweetcorn soup had no flavour, just a taste of gloopy salt water. The food full of salt and artificial colours and flavourings. The place is dirty, there are no staff clearing used plates. We had 6 plates from 3 visits each (savoury and desserts), not cleared until just before we left. You pay upfront, which is fair. No covid procedures, such as hand sanitisers near the serving spoons, all cutlery grab and go, this place is shocking!!

Let me start by saying we used to visit here regularly when we lived closer and loved the place so divided to travel from Nottinghamshire for dinner with friends today ( 26th September 2021 approx 5.15 ish)You have to pay up front these days which I can only assume to so you cant complaint about the appalling food once you try to fill your plate and actually eat it. Most dishes were empty and dishes there were available were cold ( rice, chicken wings, shredded pork) dried up ( satay chicken , chips) or dried up and thick like the curry sauce. Poppadoms stale.Staff were milling around behind the bar and not a soul to be seen in the kitchen. Plates pulled up on one table where other customers were pulling them because no one was collecting them so covid central there. (We have pictures of this)I personally couldn't eat anything at this point because anything that I could eat was empty. My husband asked if food was been replaced and got a luke warm response. Sat for 20 minutes further and still no food available for me having spent £13+ for the privilege. Asked if we could have a round of 4 soft drinks for the bad experience and while we was waiting for new food to be available to be refused. Offered 2 drinks for a table of 4 and told manager not available and that they was very busy but there was only 5 tables?We then said we would wait for the manager as we wanted to leave and would like a partical refund was told they would ring but didnt and then told she would be there at 7 which she wasnt. 1.5 hours later she appears shouting at my husband across the bar telling us we wont get no refund and to ring police. In the mean time some chicken balls finally came out so took a few to eat to find they also weren't edible, batter inside uncooked and battered prawn things hadn't even been deshelled!We was sat wanting a quite meal which could have been fixed by offering 4 soft drinks for their mistakes.Will never go back. Paid £13 for 1 satay chicken stick 6 cold chips, 1 chicken ball, 1 chicken wing and a tablespoon of rice all of which dry.

Hurray! The restrictions are now over to the extent where we can grab our own buffet.I took my kids for lunch on Saturday as we did the Imp Trail around the city. We got there at opening at 11:30. It’s now pay on entrance rather than afterwards. I’m not surprised as they had quite a lot of walk outs without paying I believe.We paid and ordered drinks and were told the food wasn’t quite ready so give it 5 minutes.No problem, 5 minutes and drinks were all it took. Then on to the food. At this time you avoid queues and the food is as fresh as you’ll get at a buffet. It’s all hot and tasty.My only complaints are that the ice cream machine has gone, no bananas and custard dessert despite being told on Facebook that it was back and the curries are inexplicably filled out with potato.All in all though, still a lovely place for a cheap Chinese where kids can try a bit of everything.

Went out for a family meal (2 adults 4 children) and chose here as we had been wanting to go for a while. The only thing I would say that was a bit disappointing is that it was slightly over priced at £75 for what was on offer and that they didn't really cater much for younger children and what they did have was dry and chewy. On the other hand they did have some really nice dishes that were replenished regularly and quite a good selection of deserts.

I like the squid and pawn the most. Table service turn out to be a good idea when having someone take care of you. I only needed to sat and ate despite the slow flow sometimes.Anw, I found it worth the money. Will be back soon !!!

The diversity of food definitely is a big plusss. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. At the moment we cannot serve ourselves, we was served real quick though. Must-go restaurant for those Chinese food lovers out there. Definitely come back soon. 🥰🥰🥰

My friend recommend me this restaurant and I am amazed at the food here. It’s surprisingly good compared to its price with just only 9.99£. The cocktail is also great as well. Although we can’t help ourselves, we really have a great experience with the table service here. The staffs are friendly and serve the food really fast. Such an amazing place to hang out at weekend. I will definitely come back!!!

Czas oczekiwania jest zbyt długi. Obsługiwała tylko jedna osoba 9 gości. Obsługa słabo mówi po angielsku. Napoje i piwo było rozrabiane z wodą . Dań jest o 1/3 mniej , a cena ta sama . Dodają do potraw glutaminian sodu , co jest wyraźnie odczuwalne na języku , oraz bólem głowy i nadmiernym pragnieniem wody. Nie polecam

We have eaten here before and food and service were good, BUT. Not this time, very unorganised, Due to COVID rules it was table service , they ask you to pay before you are seated as the meal is a set price, they then gave us 2 small pads And menus and just said choose your food write the number down leave at end of table, we put our names on so we remembered who order what ( 6 in our group ) then one meal came up , then a duplicate meal for the same person , we waited 10 mins Before any other meals came up , two of our guests had to re order as they lost there order, the food was cold the staff were running around asking all tables , DID YOU ORDER THIS. If complained but all I was told is I am new and going by government rules, then she said you are not the first to complain so why have they not improved, Then offered drinks we said no thank you and left, we took our family there as we had not seen them for a yr due to the COVID rules very very disappointed and will never go there again.

i used to always go to yoyos and the food has always been so good but unfortunately i went today with my friend and it was terrible. we had only gotten a plate each and ate only one thing of it. we asked for the manger and they still charged us for the food. they only took £3 off the original price. we had agreed to pay for one person and split it between us but they refused. i went out to have a nice meal and ended up wasting £7. i’m a student and don’t have a job i try save up as much money as i can to go out with my friends and this one was a waste. the food was hard and black, it was over cooked so much. we complained and they said they wouldn’t do anything due to them not having any complaints that day which makes us think they get complaints. i overall wouldn’t suggest going there. it’s also unorganised and we was waiting to be served for desserts for 30mins after we had complained about the main food.

We visited to take advantage of the £6.99 buffet at about 3.15pm. There was 1 waiter doing pretty much everything so although we had a bit of a wait, it wasn't his fault. There were other staff wandering around and eventually another girl started helping. Some of the food wasn't very hot, but it was all tasty. Meat free options are limited and no vegan rice dish available. The salt and pepper chips are lovely. Overall a very good experience, however a few suggestions. Expand what you can offer vegans please. A vegetable rice would be great and battered veg or sweet and sour fake battered "chicken" would be amazing. Also I ordered a hash brown which was buried underneath my noodles. Not ideal, however it was delicious. My husband really enjoyed his selection of dishes (meat). Puddings were very limited for me, as I dont eat dairy or jelly/sweets with gelatine. Also maybe show on your menu which options are actually vegetarian/vegan.

Staff have treating behaviour. Asked if we could go for a cigarette in between our meal. The lady said yes. Next thing the door is slammed in our faces saying we are leaving with out paying. Being man handled by staff. Then I asked for a Discount as they have just man handled us. And the manger rang the police saying we was refusing to pay. We never said this just wanted something for the abuse. The police arrived we sat and explained what had happened asked them to check cctv. They refused. We got what we wanted and took our food home with us. I will never go there again. And remember you are not allowed to smoke in between meals. Disgusting place and staff. Might want to hire a cleaner.

Food was great, staff were very helpful. Social distancing was trying to be enforced however many did choose to ignore it, not to the fault of the establishment. Food is served for you to limit the amount of contact. All in all was nice to get meal out, well done guys

My children and I visited on a Monday lunchtime in August. We took advantage of the way out to help out scheme. There’s was sanitiser at the entrance. As we entered I left my contact details band we were shown to a table.We were informed that we would be served by staff who would take us around the buffet and out the food on our plates for us. Staff were all wearing gloves and masks. The dining experience other than this was pretty much the same. The ice cream machine had been removed. The more expensive dishes such as mussels and prawns had been removed. The curries has been bulked out with potatoes and there were less elements in the special fried rice.In short, the quality of the ingredients has suffered to lower costs so that the restaurant is making more profit. I can’t blame them in the climate and due to closure period and if you didn’t go regularly you wouldn’t notice. A decent meal but not as good as it used to be in quality of food available.

Oolong for somewhere for dinner after a busy day sightseeing.It was OK the food was reasonably tasty is somewhat over sweet at times.Very difficult to try things as a member of staff has to serve you due to COVID they are incredible helpful and try their best but you do end up with different sauces on your plate which can be unpleasant at times.Very slow drinks service.And very hot and busy.We had not been here before but no explanation of what to do or where to pay had to just figure it out.Found parking in St. Mark's Square across the road free from 6pm onwards.

Dreadful place. A Chinese buffet, but has bowls of crisps and cheap pizza as offerings. Sad thing is, when it opened years ago it was superb.

Went here on a whim one Sunday evening, just after 6pm. We were pleasantly surprised, as I’d visited before about 6-7 years ago and it wasn’t great. This time round, it was actually very good! The food was hot, fresh and plentiful. I could see the chefs topping it all up regularly. The Char Sui pork was TO DIE FOR. We ended up with a whole extra plate just of that. We had a good meal, really got our money’s worth (classic Brits at a buffet!) The only issue we had was that their card machine was broken so we had to go to the shop next door to use the cash machine to pay.

Place is ok, many choices at the buffet but it's a hit or miss kind of food, something was nice, something very bland, something not quite there, like crispy duck with pancakes, it looked more like steamed pulled duck... It would have been ok if it wasn't for the price: 14.95 at lunch, week day, plus drinks. Not recommended.

So, they're advertising a menu at £9.50 each but after 5pm it goes up to £14.50 so up we polled at 4.50pm only to be told that because it was near 5pm they were putting the price up, sufficed to say we ate elsewhere, can't comment on the food for obvious reasons!

I’d heard good things about here for meal out. Booked a table for us, on arrival had to stand beside the table as chairs were removed from on the table and then the table cleaned, would have been nice if it were ready. Food was okay, but not a great selection of dishes considering the price for the meal. We went in the evening, if the lunch deal is cheaper for the same selection, then it is better value but as a night out I wasn’t impressed.

I often eat at Yo yo Beijing.It is an eat all you can buffet .It has a huge selection .Very tasty and well presented.It is very reasonably priced.A great place for a family get together.I will continue to eat there on a regular basis and recommend you do the same.

Met with a group of friends for a lunchtime party, due to the buffet providing a reasonably wide selection from which people could make their choices.The food was plentiful and hot, although the taste was not always distinctive. Opportunities to choose from a variety of starters, main course and deserts, and readily available so no long waiting periods for a group of people.

Visited here for a quick bite to eat after the football. As you'd expect a quick sit down with fast drinks service and then straight up for the buffet. I've been to quite a few Chinese buffets and I have to say the choice at this was one large and varied so quite impressed. I tried most things as expected at a Chinese buffet there are things you like and some you don't , that's the beauty of a place like this because if you don't like something leave it and get something else. Didn't try the desserts as I was full from the main buffet but they looked amazing. The restaurant itself was clean and presentable and the staff were friendly. Positive experience and would return again.

A large buffet restaurant. Many choices of various dishes, however, unfortunately, like many similar restaurants, the food lacks taste and is often very bland. Ideal for the eaters who are looking more for quantity than quality.

A cold atmosphere from start to end...Firstly, we were provided a buffet which was cold, and hardly anything left but some dry noodles that you had to literally scrape off the metal. When i asked a staff member when they will have more i was told there will not be any more... it was only 7pm. They were very apologetic and were very kind. We offered them a tip at the end but they said thank you but they are not allowed any tips... how sad! Then i was asked by the manager at the end how our food was, i made them aware that we were not satisfied with our experience, and instead of any offer of a discount we were just told that food will be less in the evening... maybe at 10pm but 7pm..? Perhaps if we went earlier it might have been more acceptable.

Although the prices seem to keep going up over the times I have been, the food has always been varied and tasty. The only downside on my last visit was the icecream machine was out of order, however they had small tubs on offer to make up for this.

When I reviewed this place the last time I visited back in June 2018, I vowed not to visit again. However having seen an "improved menu" (which translates to "Even Dryer and more tasteless") advertised, my girlfriend twisted my arm to give it another shot. Around half 8 on a Monday night, closes at 10pm, one would expect there still to be some decent food. Plenty of dried up yellow goods were available but anything else sauce based, vegetable based and the slop inbetween you found your self scraping the bottom of the trays, that is if you dared to eat it. We salvaged what we could and washed it down with coke and decided to see if the desserts were any better. Not a great deal of choice left unless you're tickled by a few pic 'n mix sweets, dried up tiny square sponges and some diabetic ice cream (oh the irony!). The "Mr Whippy" ice cream machine is NEVER switched on unless in peak times, with a hand written "sorry we are out of stock at the moment" piece of A4 stuck to it. At least if you're going to lie, don't the put the ready made ice cream mixture cartons in the fridge next to it!! Also the chocolate fountain resembled the salt flats. We decided to leave, paid and was asked if everything was ok. I replied that we weren't satisfied so we were offered a free drink the next time we visit, I CAN'T wait to not redeem that.

Had a great night out with the family for my brothers 21st. The food was excellent and all the staff were efficient and friendly. Atmosphere is really nice, would definitely recommend, great for family night out.

We came here last friday then we immediately in love with the various choice for diserts. We are so surprised that they even served ducks in here. Everything is so lovely for a date and we obviously come back again ☺️

I just was today with my family and we enjoy our food. Good customer service, good quality food and good for price.

Poor. (1) Most of the food wasn't thoroughly warm/hot through to enjoy, (2) puddings were cheap and miserly sized portions, but I did enjoy the melon slices, (3) (very greasy and dangerous) slippery floor in the self service food area and the Men's toilet floor was excessively greasy, and lastly, (4) the bill and transparency; ''is your daughter over 150cm?'', ''Yes'' ''my daughter is thirteen years old'', ''Why... ?''. Perhaps .. the menu should be cheap food for cheap cost. But, ''No''. Honestly!.

We’ve visited this place many times. Good sort of food, everybody found something for themselves. Very nice deserts. Staff very friendly. You eat as much as you want for one price.

Dropped in here for an evening meal on a Wednesday. I certainly found the place clean with fresh buffet food being served. Plenty varied choice, good value.

food was okay but not hot, a lot of variety but not very well executed. would be good if you were hungover or had no sense of heat

Holy hell, this place was filthy. I have no idea how they are still open. The food was at the correct temperature, for growing bacteria. I am so glad my mate stopped me eating a mussel, the smell of ammonia was so strong. If I ate that with a side of bleach I could have produced enough mustard gas to supply the Saudis for a year. The desserts were all acidic apart from the chocolate fountain which could have been replaced with a mud slide and patrons wouldn’t know the difference. And the jelly, the chiefs should be congratulated on their culinary skills, there are not many chiefs out there that can make jelly dry. Value is at the forefront of most customers minds, unfortunately this thought wasn’t in the owners mind. It was actually located in their arse, because it’s obvious they don’t give a single solitary crap. However I will over and over again. Except it will be liquid form. I paid £12 for a glass of water, three plates of pathogenic food and one of bowl of mud.

Because that is the temperature of 97% of the buffet food. And some overcooked to boot.

My bf took me to this place yesterday. The food has been amazing. Lots of choices on the buffet. I loved the curry chicken and sweet sour chicken most. Special rice and big noodle were so good. I really enjoyed the meal. And I have to mention the desert. Lemon cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, custard slices, vanilla roll, Black Forest roll etc. OMG, I love all of them.

Really nice food, very helpful staff. And I love the shrimps and squid. They were so nice. Crispy and tasty. Lots of seafood choices. And the desserts looked so beautiful. We ordered one cocktail each. The glasses were very special. They were looking nice already. Highly recommended. Go for it

I shall be reporting this establishment to the Lincoln City Trading Standards Office for reasons which will become clear in this review.My wife and I entered this establishment at around 19.00H on Saturday 28 September 2019. Immediately we were told by a member of staff that it was cash only for payments at £15.50 per person. We shrugged our shoulders at this extraordinary and unexpected "greeting" and were shown to a table where we ordered a beer each, from an assistant who I wasn't entirely sure completely understood English. My wife went to get her buffet meal, but came back to the table disappointed and annoyed because precisely half the food containers were empty, whilst from the others she had to scrape at the bottom to obtain any food, which I don't think she really enjoyed. Then I went around the two sides of the buffet containers, not entirely impressed, and was disappointed to find the "chiken" curry (as spelt) empty. I spent quite a number of minutes trying to get several members of staff passing by to sort this matter, until after many more minutes a male member of staff told me it would be at leat 5 minutes before the container could be filled. By that time I had had more than enough and decided not to eat at all.When my wife finished her meal, I asked a male member of staff for the bill, and showed him my unused cutlery and serviette. Nevertheless, on the bill he presented to me was listed 2 meals. I immediately went to the cash desk to speak to a Chinese manageress, explaining the situation, and telling her I would not pay for something I had not eaten. At that point she burst into a ranting shouting explosion in front of staff members and members of the public. She shouted that it was a buffet and that I was expected to pay as soon as I had entered the establishment! Never have I experienced such unacceptable behaviour or even "concepts" of restaurant practice. Needless to say, what obviously made her outburst of temper worse was the clear evidence that she was getting nowhere with me wither attempted bullying. So, I paid in cash only for my wife's meal and the two bottles of beer we had consumed. That lady's behaviour was an attempt at illegal fraud, and as such will be reported to Lincoln City Trading Standards Office. Appaling in the extreme.

Excellent food and very tasty. Very clean and staff quick to replenish food and clear tables. Great choice , everything delicious.

A quick lunch with friends, having not dined here for some time. Having no audible greeting upon entering, nor instructions of procedures. The buffet was a small selection, though labelled, I failed to notice the labels (at back of tray lids, in small print), so took chance of what I could see), then discovering labels once going around the other side of the serving area. The dishes were nice, flavoursome & plentiful. Serving area & crockery was clean & visible to use for individual serving, The service was poor, considering it being fairly quiet at the time. With empty plates piling up on the table, until they were seen & collected. No gratitude or appreciation of custom when paying for meal either. I shall not return in a hurry, disappointing to say the least.

Decided to give Yoyo a try despite seeing some bad reviews .. we visited on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was about half full .. all I can say is, we really enjoyed it and I'm pleased we went. There was a big choice of very tempting dishes, I tried a lot of different things and all were delicious. Very pleasantly surprised by the little puddings too. The staff we spoke to were nice. No complaints, and I will visit again.

We went on a whim, but after reading reviews on here we were apprehensive but it was unwarranted. We went on a Thursday around 7pm. The place was pretty empty. The staff were friendly and inviting, nothing was to much trouble. The food was top notch, fresh and such a wide selection as it was so quiet. Can’t knock the place, fantastic food!

friday night at 7pm, the place was dead. dreadful staff! so unfriendly, cold and rude, giving dirty looks, just rude!
