The Great Wall in Lincoln

Ordered off Just Eat as our favourite Chinese was closed and it seemed to have a few positive reviews . Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy it . The delivery came fairly quickly but the food was not good . Runny curry sauce , chicken wasn’t good , rice noodles were tasteless , sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was chewy . We won’t be using again .

My favourite Chinese takeaway been using them for many years and never disappoints

Filthy disgusting place, last time i went in and ordered (against my better judgement) I sat and listened as one of the chefs was honking up greenies and spitting them God only knows where,I walk out without any food, rather lose £10 80 than eat some blokes phlem bork!!!!

I find this place to be one of the better Chinese takeaways that I've tried in Lincoln. The rice can be a bit hit and miss; for example, within my last takeaway, the rice was hard. It wasn't too pleasant. However, the bbq and lemon ribs are to die for!

Old oil taste. Bad tummy in the night. Would not use again

If I could give zero stars I would because the food me and my family received tonight looked like its been swimming in grease for about a month and that's before we even started eating it. The chips we ordered were greasy,the curry we ordered hadn't been mixed properly and the prawn crackers were just like chewing into a grease ball. Overall awful experience compared to what we've ordered in the past.

I've had quite a few takeaways from here over the years and it's been hit and miss, however this last one was terrible. The chips we're stone cold and obviously been reheated. All the food had to be put in the microwave, I tried eating a few mouthfuls, it ended up in the bin. I'm hoping this was a one off terrible day. I had it delerverd

Visiting my family who have recently moved to Lincoln and this takeaway is just around the corner. Ordered several dishes for delivery. All dishes were great, arrived hot and delivery was exceptionally fast. Would definitely eat from here again.

The curry sauce was like water,the chicken balls were so tiny !! Overall the Chinese was bland and no taste! Really disappointed, spent £27 and it was gross , won’t be using again!!! Couldn’t eat it all, normally the plates are cleared!!!

2 hours late , stone cold , after microwaved the food was awful the curry a joke 4 meals went into the bin disgusting meals .

The delivery time was 45 mins ahead of schedule , the food was hot, however... the chips were anemeic , the main salt and pepper chicken , was very random, and different to any other I'd tried, and the chicken was very rubbery , it was like a poor man's sweet and sour. Will stick to my usual , in the village next time , cheaper , and more flavoursome

I ordered at 19:30 and and received my order at 21:30 nearly an hour late than the expected delivery time, I called the restaurant and asked for a partial refund and was told that I ate some of the order that I will not receive one. The restaurant were RUDE towards me and I will never ever order from these again. Some of the food was cold as well and my disabled daughters chicken looked pink, so in essence this restaurant can cause illness. I would advise that you stear clear.

I have ordered prawns with mushrooms, i think you should change title to mushroom with prawns as there were only 5 prawns and the rest mushrooms. Not ordering again very dissapointing 👎

We normally go phoenix for our Chinese fix. They weren't able to deliver where we were so we tried this place. Oh my can't believe we've never had it before. Really fantastic food. We had beef in black bean, satay chicken, chow mein. All fantastic best I've had in Lincoln.

Great food as always used for years when I lived up there, used again last week and wondered why I ever choose anywhere else thanks for the top nosh

2 hours from ordering to delivery. Disgusting. No apology from the driver. No communication from restaurant when I asked where it was. Won't be ordering from them again.

Very disappointing this time, prices increased extortionate for the same meal, took an hour to arrive than the usual half an hour tops and it was Luke warm if that! Cost almost £20 for two small cold meals delivered by the most miserable delivery driver. Will take custom elsewhere from now on. Sorry.

Ordered meal for a 5.45pm delivery which was agreed in the app, but restaurant took notice of a very old note saying not to deliver until 6.30pm. I rang restaurant at 6.10pm to complain and ask for refund, but didn't get anything and was hung up on. Meal was delivered at 6.35pm and we were meant to go out at 7pm but are now delayed!!!

Food was great, food was really late, 30 minutes. Usually delivery is early.

Although delivery was earlier than expected, i wish they had taken longer making it taste good. I added a note for the meat to be cut up small as ive recently had surgery and they didnt bother. Beef cashew nut, had literally a few nuts in it. Chicken in lemon sauce, the sauce was nice, but the batter was hanging off the chicken, and the chicken was rubbery. Non of the food tasted fresh. Neither of us enjoyed it and we wont order from their again.

£10 portion of aromatic duck was 1 plastic tub not even half full with a bone as well. Overpriced and dissapointing.

Still steaming hot. Throughly enjoyed.

Missing food and was late and cold

Ordered at 8pm. Initially said the order would take approx 50 minutes, email then said delivery for 9.20pm then actual delivery was 10pm. No reply from the restaurant when questioned it was late and no sorry from the delivery driver just muttered when arriving

The food was tasty, but very late, around 40 mins. Unfortunately one of the tubs wasn't closed properly, and was kn its side, so the sauce leaked everywhere, making the chips and othe items in paper bags go soggy, and the pork dish which was meant to be in the sauce had no sauce left. Its a shame because it actually tasted quite nice 😕

When I book for a certain time, it would be nice if it came at roughly that time, not 1 hour early. Ruined the food.

Me and my partner placed an order yesterday which was due to be delivered at 10.40pm we waited until 11pm before ringing to find out where our food was to be told it would be 15-20 minutes. So we waited and rang again after 20 minutes to be told it would be another 20 minutes. We then rang just eat to find out what was going on after waiting over an hour past delivery time. The restaurant then rang us and said the order had to be cancelled because they couldn’t deliver it now. It was then close to midnight and no other Chinese takeaways were open. Really unhappy with the service and the quality of how they treat their customers. Definitely will not be ordering from here again. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

Absolutely appalled with the service I received from Great Wall! Placed an order yesterday for £40’s worth of food and had friends travel to Lincoln to spend the night. Estimated delivery time was 10:40pm. Phoned at 11pm and got told ‘will be another 15/20 minutes for you’. Waiting til 11:20 still no sign and bare in mind they close at 11pm. Contacted just eat and they phoned the restaurant and got told another ‘10/15 minutes’. So we waited patiently. 11:50PM; we get a call saying they are unable to deliver the food as car had broken down. We offered to go and collect and got told ‘no no no’ and they hung up on us. This is no way at all to treat LOYAL customers. They most definitely have lost service with us

Food took almost two hours to arrive. Food was cold, stodgy and barely edible. It went in the bin. Usually service is good, I’ve used Great Wall for many years however the last 5 orders have had issues with. Will not be returning.

Quick easy friendly service great food

The order was late, there were 2 dishes that we didnt order and then 3 other things we did order that were missing. Someone had rang to inform us our order might be wrong. I called restaurant up and the guy in the phone could not comprehend what I was trying to tell him I then went to online support and let them sort it. We then got another order delivered (everything) at gone 9pm. Shocking service

What a real novel way of bulking out the portions of Duck. The vast amount was cubes of cucumber. I would honestly say 70% cucumber cubes. Won't use Great China Wall again. Rather go to The Taste. Least you can eat all you want.

Absolutely delicious food. Much better than buffet Chinese. Piping hot and very fast delivery times. Really highly recommended. Tasty

Ordered at 7:20 via JustEat, expected to arrive 8:15. At 8:45, still no food so we called the restaurant for an update. They told us the driver was on the way, then gone 9 we had a call saying it had gone to the wrong address, and the man on the phone promised to call us back. We never received a call, and got a text at 9:20 saying our order was cancelled. Shocking service and incredibly unhelpful. Don't bother wasting your time with this restaurant. Would leave 0/ 5 for a review if possible.

Thought we'd try here as our usual chinese was shut. Chips were wet and soggy. Curry was nothing special. Sorry won't be ordering again as doesn't compare to my usual chinese.

ordered at 18:32 , phoned restaurant at 20:10 they said they had no order from us. Then get a call back saying driver stuck in traffic. ( aa.com stated no traffic). Food turned up 20 minutes later cold. Just eat we’re no help at all. Not ordering again.

Decent food as ever but wrong item sent. We received chicken and sweet corn SOUP but had ordered chicken and sweet corn as a main. This means we didn’t get the full meal and were overcharged.

Always order large amounts of food from here (big family) and can't say anything bad the food is always hot and there delivery is always perfect they tell us our food will be ready within an hour it is at our house with in 15 mins I will definitely order again anyone who dissagred I am unsure how they are just perfect ??? Placed order at 17.15 told me food wood be with me at 18.20 I phoned within 10 minutes and told my food was on way I said it was to early i was told to late it's on its way arrived at 17.40 half of the food was cold not impressed with great wall and just eat

Been using The Great Wall for over 15 years and order 4 -5 times a month and never had a bad experience food is always well cooked and hot when it reaches you. Delivery Drivers are polite and are happy to talk to u prices are very good compared to other places local. Delivery can be as quick as 20 mins and not usally over 45 mins will carry on using them too. They even know who we are when we ring and know our usual order off by heart. Excellent service

I regularly use this takeaway. They are always prompt, food is hot even after a 6 mile drive. They're happy to make changes to dishes, recently had half a portion of battered chicken and the other half prawns, which no where else has done before

Had food last night had it once before and was nice but tonight food was cold heated it but both me and my husband have been exytreamly ill since eating and my husband is still being ill. Wont be back

Usually really good but awfull tonight won't be ordering again.... Thanks for the hot cola... Wrapped in a separate bag at the bottom of the food. Chips not fresh at all dried out and cold, curry sauce cold. Only thing hot was the rice and chicken balls which were on top of my drink.... Gone down hill big time...

Nice as always but let down this time by ordering 1 lot of king prawn balls and 1 lot of chicken balls and ending up receiving 2 lots of chicken balls with 2 prawn on mixed in. Cross contamination of fish and chicken for 1 and after calling them to ask for a refund of the prawn balls no refund given. Very disappointed

food is always really nice but the times of delivery are not good! tonight's is late and before it's been 10-15 minutes early! shame! but will not use again in the near future. when it's confirmed delivery is en-route and we live 15 mins away and the food arrives an hour later! food still not here!!!!

food was very good the only thing that let them down if they had left the bones in the shredded duck which the big ones are fine however there were some small bones/ bone fragments two of which made my partner choke

Ordered my food for 8.15, not 'ASAP'. Got a notification at half 7 to say my order was on route. Called the shop and they said they will turn the driver away but in future do not click on the 'ASAP', which I didn't and that I should put the time in the comments box in future. What's the point of the time slot option then? 5 minutes later I received a call from the driver, sounding pretty annoyed, asking us to collect the delivery. At this point is was 8pm and on my way back from work. I told him that I called the shop and they said they'd send him back but I'll be a few minutes to collect. He said ok but he clearly didn't understand what I said because once I arrived he wasn't there. In the end my order didn't arrive until 8.40. The food was fine, I was put off by the service and that they didn't believe me when I chose a designated time slot.

Had to wait soooooo long for the food. Food was ok when it did arrive. But I also ordered drinks and they were transported on top of all the hot food... A hot coke is not exactly refreshing. Overall it was ok but I'll be using someone else next time.

Four pieces of chicken in a chicken and pineapple dish. The chicken balls were actually so greasy that the bag was going see-through at the bottom. Because the coke was in with the food it was actually warm and foamy. I just wasn't impressed with the food at all I am afraid. It was delivered on time and correctly without an issue.
